Marcel flashes behind Elijah and gave his neck a sinister twist. Elijah fell on the ground leaving Marcel smiling like a child. "Take him into the church…"
Two vampires came and dragged Elijah's unconscious body into St. Anne's.
Chapter 13
Rebekah paced in the foyer of the plantation. She dialed and redialed Elijah's cell. She screamed in frustration. "Where the hell is he?" She tried one last time. She closed the phone in annoyance. The call went straight to voicemail. She flashed over to the fireplace and grabbed the nearest bottle of liquor and threw it into the flame. One by one she watched the flames rise and hiss at the added force and fuel. She grabbed a light blue bottle sitting at the edge of the coffee table. She smirked as she proceeded to lunch the bottle into the tall flames.
"Not that one love…" Klaus said as he grabbed the bottle from her hands.
Rebekah turned her head and huffed. She shrugged her shoulders.
"What's got your nickers in a knot?" Klaus said as he placed the blue hued bottle back on the middle shelf in the far left side of the room.
"Nik…not now…" Rebekah said as she redialed Elijah's number. The call went straight to voicemail. Rebekah closed the phone abruptly. " Elijah hasn't checked in yet. I'm worried Nik…" She said as she flopped herself in the couch.
"How long has it been?" Klaus said as he walked slowly towards her.
"Its been over two hours….he was suppose to be meeting someone…Diego I think…"
Klaus' face harden. Why was he meeting Diego? Marcellus was always close behind. "Why was he meeting Diego?"
Rebekah bit her lower lip. "He was going to find out why Marcel needed your blood...he thought if he could get one of Marcel's minions to turn we could get more information…from a...a…reliable source…"
"Reliable source…?" Klaus said through clenched teeth. "What is that suppose to mean?"
"You…" Rebekah sighed. She rolled her eyes. She really didn't want to get into this right now.
"What is it Rebekah…?" Klaus screamed.
"You aren't the same…you aren't focused …that girl…has got you wrapped around her little finger…"
Klaus felt his temper start to enflame. He was starting to burn from the side inside out. "I see…I have a past with someone…therefore I am not to be trusted…"
"Nik…" Rebekah said annoyed. " …it's not like that…you are just too close to be objective….especially when it comes to Caroline. "
Klaus clenched his jaw. Bekah was right ever since he saw her he was unable to stay focused and centered. She had invaded his senses. She was starting to control his every action. " Caroline is no more important to me then any other…"
Rebekah snorted. She crossed her hands over her chest. Caroline was a lot of things but mostly a distraction.
"She is just a means to an end…" Klaus said as he took a long gulp from the aged whiskey he retrieved from the center table. "What of Elijah? What measures have you taken thus far?"
"There are a handful of vampires under Elijah's employ. But they only answer to Lijah…"
"Is that so…well I suppose we must have a chat with them…" Klaus said darkly. The wolf inside was craving the chase of the kill these informants would suffice. "Or we can go directly to the source…"
"Marcel…" Rebekah said shortly. Rebekah sighed. She knew this was not going to end well.
Stefan walked down the stairs into the foyer. "Bekah, have you heard any news?"
"Rippah…just the monster I needed…" Klaus said as he placed the empty bottle on the end table.
Stefan raised his eyebrows. "Klaus?"
"Elijah's missing and I think I know who could answer a few questions."
Klaus said as he started to walk out the door.
"Marcel." Rebekah said as she saw the look of confusion grow on Stefan's face. The mention of Marcel's name soften his doubt. "Nik…what are you going to do?"
"What I do best sister dear…" Klaus said smugly. He flashed out before Rebekah could protest.
Caroline's phone continued to ring and ring. She ran out of the shower wrapping herself in an oversized towel. She looked at the caller id and frowned. "What could she want…?" Caroline answered the phone with reservation. "Hello?"
"Where is he?"
"Where is whom?"
"Don't play dumb Caroline…where is my brother?"
"How should I know?" She said as she put the speaker on. She went into the closet and tried to get dressed.
"Elijah is missing and I know that Marcel has something to do with this…where is he?"
"Rebekah…I don't know what you're talking about?" Caroline said firmly. She knew she was lying but she hoped Rebekah hadn't noticed. "Listen Rebekah…as much as I love our little chats…I have things to do…"
"Caroline…I know you have something to do with this…and if I find out you are somewhat responsible for his disappearance…I don't care if my unfortunate brother is enchanted with you… I will hunt you down and rip you from limp from limp…"
Caroline turned towards the menacing voice on the phone. She rolled her eyes. Always threatening annihilation, such a Mikaelson. Caroline shrugged it off. She was just worried about Elijah. She was worried about him. Caroline repeated to herself. "Rebekah I know your worried about Elijah if I knew where Marcellus took him I would tell you…I want him eliminated just as bad as you do…"
Rebekah snorted. "I'm so sure…it must be quite inconvenient to have two of your gentlemen callers at your beck and call… "
Caroline bit her tongue before she could respond. "Rebekah…if I find out something I'll call you…" Caroline said as she ended the call. She felt a hint of guilt start to bubble up inside. She finished getting dressed and headed out the door. She had to get some answers. Although a part of her knew she wasn't going to like what she found.
Davina followed the casket of the eldest original into the attic of her dungeon. Marcel's arrogance has reached new levels. In the casket, one of the oldest and probably the most dangerous of all the Originals, was trapped. Her mind was spinning. She knew that there was going to be retaliation. There would be blood. Death. She feared for her life and her aunt Caroline. Auntie Caroline. She snorted. Auntie indeed. She was not her aunt she was her mother. Her mother who was supposed to be dead. She was starting to get livid. Caroline. The one person that was supposed to be there for her had lied to her. The lies never seemed to stop. She never told her the truth. She had to hear it from Marcel. The evil son of a bitch that had you imprisoned the oldest living vampire. Oh Davina. What a dangerous web you have woven.
"Are you alright sweetheart?" Marcel said as he flashed in front of Davina.
She rolled her eyes. "What do you care, demon?" She said with as much venom as she could muster.
Marcel smiled. He licked the bottom of his lip. "Be careful, witch. My patience is wearing thin especially with the women in your family." Marcel grabbed Davina 's chin forcing her to look into his black eyes.
Davina 's skin felt a cold rush as Marcel held her firmly in his deadly hands. "Let go of me…" She demanded.
Marcel laughed. "So feisty…must be a family trait…"
Davina held her hands on her side. She started to squeeze her hands into tight fists. The blood started to rush to her palms. She felt her body start to shake. She started to chant softly at first.
Marcel eyed the young witch. She was starting to chant something in a foreign tongue. It was getting louder and louder. Marcel lowered his hand and took a step back. He felt his skin start to burn. He was starting to over heat from the inside out. The pain was overwhelming him. "Davina…"
Davina looked into the demons eyes. He was buckling over. She let a small smirk escape her harden profile. He was on his knees. She started to smile. Her grin grew darker and darker. It was almost sinister.
Marcel felt his knee started to buckle underneath him. His blood was starting to boil inside of him. The pain was becoming unbearable.
Davina closed her eyes taking a deep breath. " I will not be controlled."
Marcel started to feel a little cooler. He got up slowly. "Davina…"
Davina raised her hand releasing her fist. The power of her emotions was flowing through her. Rage was flowing through her. Lies. Death. Hurt. Betrayal. Her blood was racing. Every cell in her body was saturated with its suffocating energy. She opened her eyes slowly. She whispered to the ancestors.
Marcel looked at the young witch. There was a golden orb around her. Marcel took a step back. He raised his hands in front of him. "Davina…what are you doing, sweetheart…?" Marcel walked slowly towards her. He knew in her state he shouldn't provoke her.
Davina lowered her hand releasing the energy flowing through her. "I have played my part demon. Do not provoke me. I know what I have to do…keep your word and I shall keep mine…"
Marcel narrowed his eyes. He raised his hands in mocked surrender. He took the vial of blood from his jacket pocket and placed it on a table surrounded by candles. "Fine have it your way …this time...you have 24 hours…"
Davina rolled her eyes. She had enough. "And if I don't…" She said through clenched teeth.
Marcel started to walk away and stopped midway. "I kill what's left of your family slowly one by one..." He stayed for a second and flashed away.
Davina watched Marcel flashed away. She inhaled deeply. She was really getting tired of all the threats that pour out effortlessly out of his mouth. She closed her eyes and let out a loud shriek.
The floorboards start to shake. The vial on the table started to dance. The blood started to sway back and forth. The windows started to rattle. The candles surrounding the attic flickered on and off. Slowly smoke started to fill the attic.
Davina opened her eyes and saw the smoke fill the attic. Panic started to fill her. "Shit!" She waved her finger and opened the window. "Dame claridad…"
"A little clarity would suffice…"
Davina slowly turned around. She took a deep breath. "Elijah Mikaelson…"
Elijah bowed slightly. "In the flesh…so to speak." He said as he adjusted his suit jacket. "You must be Davina…" He said as he inspected the young witch. He walked slowly towards her.
Davina raised her hand. "Stop. Don't come closer."
Elijah stopped giving her a nod. "I mean you no harm. I know your mother."
Davina rolled her eyes. "Of course you do…" Davina walked towards the window and closed it. "How are you awake…I put a sealing spell on the casket….?" She crossed her arms over her chest.
"I was hoping you'd answer that precise question…" Elijah said as he walked around the attic. He walked towards the easel and paused. He raised an eyebrow. "You paint?"
Davina paused. " Yes…"
"May I?" Elijah asked.
Davina was taken back. He actually asked. He didn't just take. "Sure…why not?" She said with a slight shrug.
Elijah nodded. He walked toward the sketch. It was a profile of a half man half beast. His identity was hidden with the darkness of the moon. The man was bowing towards the light of the moon he was surrounded by wolves.
"Interesting…"
Davina walked towards the easel. She looked at the piece. "What?"
"The subject seems so familiar…"
Davina looked at the wonder in the vampires face. "Familiar?"
"Yes, its almost as if I've seen this before…" Elijah said his eyes not leaving the sketch.
"That's impossible. I just finished that painting…."
"Who is the man?"
Davina walked towards the painting. She looked deeply into the dark figure. "I don't know…his face has haunted my dreams…"
"A vision of the future perhaps…"
"Perhaps…or maybe the past…" Davina said softly. She waved her hand over the sketch. A crimson satin sash covered the painting protecting it from further scrutiny.
"The past?" Elijah asked.
"Yes…it seems as if the past is just as mysterious as the future…" Davina said bitterly.
"Finding out you have family you've never known about can be quite traumatic…." Elijah said as he sat on a nearby chair.
Davina turned around. "What would you know of it?"
Elijah paused. He looked at the hurt in her eyes. "Me personally nothing but my brother well that is another tale…"
"Your brother…" Davina said as she walked over to the vial. She picked up the vial and walked towards the lighted altar. She poured the vial into an engraved chalice. "Which brother are you speaking of…Finn…Kol…Hendrick or are you speaking of Niklaus the hybrid…"
"Niklaus actually." Elijah said patiently.
Davina picked up a crystal encrusted dagger and waved it over the blood filled chalice. "Yes…he has quite the reputation…tell me why is it Marcel wants him dead…what did your brother do to him…?" Davina walked towards Elijah slowly.
Elijah saw the curve of the blade in the witches' hand. She was planning something. "Why do you think Niklaus did anything to Marcellus?"
"Didn't he?" Davina asked as she held the dagger a little tighter around her hand.
"Niklaus loved him…rescued him from being tortured. He practically raised him. He made him into his image. "
"So then what happened?"
"After we spent years building this great city…watching it flourish we…we had to flee the city…this is the first time we've seen him since…"
Davina nodded. "That's a pretty tale you've spun. " She stood in front of him defiantly.
Elijah flashed in front of the witch. "What would I gain lying to you?"
Davina held her breath. She raised her head to meet his towering on. She looked deep into his ebony orbs. She concentrated on his words. He was speaking the truth.
Elijah was overcome with curiosity. This young witch was not afraid not even in the least. She was looking at him in the strangest manner. It was almost as if she was reading his soul. He looked into her eyes the blue hues of her eyes were changing. They were golden. The longer she looked at him the more golden they became. It was almost the same shade as his brother, Niklaus when he was turning into a hybrid. "Your eyes…"
Davina blinked. The amber ribbons were slowly fading. "What about them?"
"They were golden…" Elijah said shortly.
"Yes…it happens when I use magic…" Davina saw the baffled look in his face. "Why?"
"It reminds me of…" Elijah said shaking his head. "Can't be…"
"Can't be what?"
"A hybrid."
Davina raised an eyebrow. "A hybrid?"
"Yes, my brother Niklaus has golden eyes as well...well usually they're blue but when he shifts it turns amber very much like yours…"
Davina remained silent.
"Did your mother every tell you where you inherited such a intriguing trait?"
Davina's heart started to pound. The pressure in her chest was resonating into a loud thunder. Her heart was thumping like a menacing drum. Her mother. Anger started to boil over inside of her. She raised her hand. "Sentare.."
Elijah flew back on the chair with a thump. Elijah struggled to get up. He was cemented to the chair. He shook from left to right. "What the hell is going on?"
Davina smirked. "You were brought here for a purpose…do you think your artificial concern would deter me from that fact…."
Elijah eyed the witch as she walked closer. She was smirking almost victoriously. "What purpose is that?"
Davina leaned in close to his ear. "I plan on killing you…." She said as she plunged the dagger into his heart.
