Elijah eyed the witch as she walked closer. She was smirking almost victoriously. "What purpose is that?"

Davina leaned in close to his ear. "I plan on killing you…." She said as she plunged the dagger into his heart.

Chapter 14

Davina smirked darkly as she saw the look of momentary shock on Elijah's face. She whispered a few words as she saw the original close his eyes. "Silence..." She plunged the dagger deep into the cold heart of the vampire. She twisted the dagger a bit more allowing a few drops of blood to fall down. She waved her fingers up as she released the dagger. The blood levitated into the air and fell into the dark black cauldron. She heard the brew start to bubble and hiss. She walked over to the cauldron and waved her hands over the blood closing her eyes concentrating on the words of the spell. Her grimoire opened, the pages moving back and forth as a gentle breeze filled the attic. " Spirits guide me...in my path...hear my plea..." She raised her arms concentrating in the crimson liquid in the cauldron. "Espiritus del muerte negra escename la manera de destruir este demonio…"

The crimson liquid danced back and forth bubbling to the rhythm of her words. She lowered her arms and watched the waves part and form an image. Davina turned her head slightly.

There was a cloud forming in the brew. It started to part slowly showing a pair of blue eyes turning amber like her own. "What the…" She whispered. The amber eyes turned facing the moonlight. A fog appeared covering the dark form. It started to transform. She heard a blood-chilling growl. The dark image became hairy, claws started to from its limbs. It buckled on all fours. The cloud dissipated. The image was a wolf. It was a bloody werewolf. Davina narrowed her eyebrow. The werewolf ran into the swamp. "A werewolf?"

The image started to change. The amber eyes changed back into bright blue ones. A face slowly appeared long blond curly hair, alabaster skin, and a bright smile. "Caroline?"

Caroline's face appeared in the dark potion. She was leaning over a 6 year old Davina chanting. Davina used her super hearing to listen to the whispering her mother was saying. "Spirits protect you from harm to yourself and from harming your family…So I will it so mote it be…"

The image disappeared. The liquid started to fizzle out. Davina' s anger started to bubble over like the brew had moments ago. "Caroline…"

She walked over to the silent vampire and pulled the dagger savagely out of his bloody chest. She flung the dagger in the air making it land on the altar with a flick of her fingers.

Elijah gasped. He took a deep breath in and out desperately trying to fill his lungs. His chest was slowly starting to heal. Davina walked in front of him and lunged her hands inside of the original' s chest. Elijah's eyes opened wide. His hands were still paralyzed. He tried to shake her off of him but could not. Her hands penetrated his chest cavity. She brought her hands over his heart. She started to squeeze the bloody muscle. Her hands tighten around the organ squeezing it chamber by chamber. Elijah felt Davina' s hands crush him from the inside out. He was starting to lose his breath. "Davina…what are you doing..?"

Davina saw Elijah's face slowly turn a pasty ashen. Davina' s eyes turned a bright amber she was giddy with hate. She squeezed the organ tighter closing her grasp around the brittle tissue. Davina smirked. She closed her eyes relishing in the kill. Elijah started to feel light headed. He tried to keep his eyes open as he saw the look of evil on the young witches face. She closed her eyes as she started to chant. She heard Elijah's breath cease. Davina opened her eyes and heard a wrestling in the wind. She turned her head and listened. '…protect you from harm to yourself and from harming your family…'

Davina' s eyes opened wide. She started to repeat the chant her mother had said over her all those years ago. "Protect you from harm to yourself and from harming you family… protect you from harm to yourself and from harming your family… protect you from harm to yourself and from harming your family… protect you from harm to yourself and from harming your family… protect you from harm to yourself and from harming your family…" Davina loosen her grip on Elijah's chest. She took a step back and fell on the floor looking at her blood stained hands. She closed her mouth and started to sob. What was going on? Why was she feeling so sad? A wave of depression and guilt saturated her senses. She closed her eyes as she tried to control the emotions flowing inside of her. Emotions are a weakness. You are not weak Davina.

Elijah saw the witch start to chant and watched in awe. She could not harm her family. She was family. But how? How was that even possible? She's a witch born from a vampire. How is this even possible? "Why didn't you kill me?" Elijah whispered, his voice still hoarse from the slow healing of the enchanted dagger.

Davina looked at the vampire with disgust. A single tear fell down her face. "I was cursed."

"Cursed? By whom?"

Davina felt the tears struggled to fall. No. Not now. She turned her head. My mother. Why would she do this?

"Caroline…" Elijah uttered. He started to chuckle. "Of course…that's why…" He stopped as she saw Davina turn her head in curiosity.

"Why… what? What had she done…?" Davina said her voice dripping with desperation.

"She honored her word…." Elijah said as he sat there smiling triumphantly.

Klaus flashed out of the plantation in a huff. How could Rebekah accuse him of such infamy? Caroline did not control him. He was an original. He was the original hybrid for fuck' s sake. Caroline was nothing more than a distraction. She was a distraction all those years ago and she is a distraction now. He will not allow her to blind him with those deep blue eyes, bright golden waves, or those soft curves and perfectly shaped breasts…Get a grip Mikaelson. He stopped and shook his head. His hybrid senses started to tingle. He flashed behind a massive tree.

"Nikoli we have a deal…I expect you to honor it…"

Klaus clenched his teeth. It was the shape shifter. He flashed closer leaping on top of a nearby tree.

"I will as soon as you bring me what I need…." Nikoli said as he walked close to Marcel's face. He stood towering over the dark skinned vampire.

Marcel grinned annoyance was starting to show on his plastered grin. "I am working on it…it is going to take time…"

Nikoli smirked his gray eyes changing a golden yellow. He let a small growl. " You have until the full moon…"

Marcel raised his eyebrow. "That's tomorrow night…come on man...you need to give me more time…" He said as he gave him his signature smile.

Nikoli narrowed his eyes. "And why would I do that?" He said his voice dripping with venom.

Marcel smirked. He looked at the enraged hybrid up and down. " Because you owe me…"

Nikoli groaned. He started to pace back and forth. He let out a muffled groan. "Fine…I'll give you two days…then we are even."

Marcel chuckled. "Is that what you think hybrid…not even close…" He said as he flashed in front of Nikoli' s face.

Nikoli grabbed the vampire by the neck and placed his fangs inches from his neck. "Be careful Marcellus Klaus isn't the only hybrid that has werewolf venom…"

Marcel swallowed. He eyed the hybrid in disgust as he felt his fangs scrap his skin.

Nikoli plunged his fangs into the top layer of Marcel' s neck leaving a slight scratch. "Klaus' s blood is the cure…do you think he would heal you after everything you've done…."

Marcel grimaced. "You know nothing…"

Nikoli pierced a little deeper into his skin. A drop of blood fell from the wound. He eyes zeroed in on the blood. His smile widen. " A little knick and…."

"Okay man…" Marcel said shouting at the hybrid.

Nikoli laughed. He let the vampire go pushing him into the muddy floor. " Remember your place Marcellus I knew what you are…"

Marcel got up dusting himself off. He walked closer to Nikoli. "Oh yeah…and I know exactly what you are hybrid…I know who your father was…I even know you have a few living relatives…"

Nikoli turned his head. He flashed towards the pompous vampire grabbing Marcel by the neck lifting him off of the ground. His eyes remained a golden yellow he growled as he uttered every syllable. " You do well to stay away from my affairs Marcellus…I know you have a fondness for blonds…it would be a shame if one of them ended up at the other end of my wrath…"

Marcel opened his eyes grinning. "You wouldn't hurt Caroline…I've seen the way you look at her…"

Klaus clenched his fists. It took all of his control not to decapitate him while ripping each one of his limbs one by one.

Nikoli smirked. "She isn't the only blond you fancy…"

Marcel' s grin disappeared. "You hurt her…and I will kill you…" He said as he tried to shrug away his grip.

Nikoli chuckled. "You are welcomed to try, mate…but for now be a good little minion and get to work…" He said as he dropped Marcellus on the ground. Nikoli waited for Marcel to say another word. He wanted him to say something else he was itching to kill him. He was slowly becoming a liability.

Marcel got up and frowned. He wanted to kill the hybrid but he knew if he did the Old One would not approve. He gave him one last hard stare before he flashed away.

Nikoli pulled out his phone and dialed 1 on his I-Phone.

" It's done…"

" How long?"

" Two days…"

"Begin stage two…" The phone call ended.

Nikoli closed the phone and flashed away.

Klaus watched Marcellus flash away. He shook his head. Traitorous louse. Klaus saw Nikoli dial a number and talk to someone else. He tried to listen in but he could not recognize the voice on the other line. He had to find out who he was. Klaus knew Nikoli was trouble the minute he first saw him with Caroline. Caroline. She knew Nikoli well. Klaus felt his heart contract inside of his chest. He waited until Nikoli was far enough away before he headed out. He needed to get answers and he knew exactly where to get them.

Caroline ran through the swamp flashing in between the intertwining bald cypress trees. She stopped after she heard a few voices in the far end of the swamps. She flashed behind an old cypress and waited. The voices stopped. She flashed forward to get a closer look. She quickly hid behind a floating Cypress as she smelled a familiar scent. It was arrogance and cheap cologne. Marcellus. She reached into her boot and took her dagger out. She leaned against a large tree waiting for Marcellus. Caroline watched and waited. She heard a rustling in the trees. What the hell was that? She looked up and scanned the tree line. She saw a dark figure leap from tree to tree. She held the dagger close to her. She tightened her grasp on the handle. She closed her eyes and listen. A dark blur flashed by. Her senses were telling her the stench of her husband flashed away. She leaned forward and felt a slight wind. She looked up there was someone there. Another vampire. She leaped to the top of the trees for a better look. She waited. Was it a werewolf? No. It wasn't. It was something different. She waited patiently. She squatted down waiting. She saw the blur pass by. She smirked. I gotcha now. She flashed towards the figure and leaped towards it. She heard a snicker. She looked left and right. There was no one there. She turned around. She knew there was another vampire. She waited and listened. She slowly turned away. Her skin started to tingle. She smelled him. He was close. But what was he doing here. Was he meeting Marcellus? She shook her head of course he was. She needed to concentrate. She knew he was close. She closed her eyes and concentrated. She chanted as she pictured his deadly smirk. She smiled as she saw him in her mind' s eye. She opened her eyes and flashed towards him. Her left hand held the bottom of his neck as her right hand dug into Klaus neck the blade of the dagger piercing his skin. "Move and I'll kill you where you stand…"

"Caroline…it's me love…" Klaus said.

Caroline loosened her grip around his neck and flashed in front of Klaus slamming him into the nearest tree. She dug the dagger deeper into his neck. She turned her head to the side and shrugged.

"Caroline put the dagger down…" He said with a bit more annoyance.

Caroline smiled. "Sure as soon as you tell me what your doing with Marcellus…?"
