Liam entered the locker room, pulling his Lacrosse gear off. He then started feeling dizzy and shaky. He began tipping over, falling onto any locker he could reach. His head was spinning and his heart was pumping, blood flowing quickly through his veins.
He was about to shift and he had no control over it!
When he came to a point where he couldn't take it anymore, he was suddenly lifted from ground and being taken to the showers and held back on the wall. All this time his eyes were shut and when he opened them, they were glowing like neon sticks.
He began growling and his canine teeth began descending from his gums and he seethed.
"Liam calm down!" He heard the alpha's voice reaching his ears but he just continued growling. "You can do it Liam, just breathe…breathe…" He urged him.
And at that moment, Liam triggered it and meditated on the words. He shut his eyes and he could feel his pulse weakening and his breathing turning steady. He immediately dropped the ground and began panting heavily.
"Are you okay?" Scott asked concernedly. Liam looked up at him, to show him his normal blue-green eyes to signal that he was calm now.
"I'm sorry." He whispered breathlessly. Scott just stared at him. "I don't know what got over me."
"Trust me. I know." Scott smiled. Liam looked up at him with those 'puppy Liam eyes'.
"How do you deal with it? I mean, how do you control it?" Liam questioned. He wanted to know if it will get worse than this. Was he ever going to learn control? In the circumstances his currently in?
Scott answered with the words that Liam was dreading to hear.
"You can't control it. It only controls you." He told him. Liam just stared at him in horror but understanding as he moved his gaze back on the ground.
"Hey, you'll get through it. It gets easier. Okay?" Scott told him as he bent down to Liam's length. Liam never met his gaze. "We're heading out now. You want to come with?"
"I think I just want to be alone if that's okay?" He asked but wasn't looking for an answer.
"Yeah sure, call if you need us." Scott said caringly and patted his arm and got up. Stiles ruffled his soaked hair.
"Catch you later man." He smiled and the two of them vanished.
The moment the door shut. Liam began releasing tears but was not showing any action. He grabbed his Lacrosse stick and began twirling it around.
Then fire flared into his system and he threw the lacrosse stick against the wall in anger and frustration and he immediately broke down.
… …
Sierra followed Liam's trails until she was met with the boys' Locker room. She couldn't help but imagine what could've happened in the room. Boys half naked, making fart jokes and showering with-
She pulled the thought away and reluctantly opened the door quietly.
It was dark. The only light shining was the moon coming from the windows.
It was cold and windy.
The energy was strong. The only thing you could smell was dirty socks and deodorant.
It was definitely a horror crime scene.
She continued walking slowly through the room until she heard water trickling from behind the lockers. She took a deep breath and hesitantly took a peak at what was hiding behind them.
She caught a Lacrosse player lying on the ground with the water falling from the shower.
"Oh my god! Liam!" She shouted and ran up to him. She didn't care if she got wet from the water because she wasn't that girl who'd always worry about her appearance.
"What are you doing here?" He questioned coldly but deep down, he was glad she was here.
"You just disappeared after the game so I just wanted to check on you." She darted her eyes to the side to see Liam's dissembled Lacrosse stick. She frowned. "What happened out there?" She asked sweetly.
Then he just had to be bombarded with the vision of Brett talking to her. Sure, it may sound like he's a jealous boyfriend but he just doesn't trust him.
"Nothing," He replied.
"You must be freezing cold." Sierra said as she stopped the shower and grabbed the nearest towel and wrapped it around his shoulder.
"Thanks." He murmured. Sierra smiled and bent down to his length and stared at him.
"What's wrong Liam? You won! I don't know why you're upset?" She laughed then saw the tears in his eyes. "You were crying?" She questioned.
"No." He chuckled in embarrassment.
That was a total non-guy moment.
"It was just the water." He lied. Sierra giggled uncontrollably. "What?" He asked.
"Nothing," She laughed.
Liam rolled his eyes.
"Fine laugh at me." He stated in pain.
"I'm not laughing at you." She told him. They both laughed. Liam stared back and their eyes connected yet again in an intense moment. He sighed as he moved his eyes away from her hesitantly.
"You don't have to be here." He told her. Sierra didn't move her eyes away from him.
"Why's that?" She asked.
"I'm a hot mess. I mean, look at me." He said, motioning to his soaked body.
Sierra smirked.
"I am." She simply said with a smile. Liam released a crooked smile as he stared back at her.
There was silence for a while but it was a good thing it was comfortable for both of them.
Liam broke the silence. "So, what now?"
"Well. I'm heading to the after party with Chelsea and you should come to." Sierra said.
"I thought you didn't like parties?" He pointed out.
"I know but Chelsea's dragging me to it and if I don't make it I'll be a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich so that left me no choice. But I'll go if you go?" She asked. Liam was hesitant.
"I don't know."
"Please dude?" She practically pleaded. It took one looked into her amber eyes to agree quickly.
He sighed. "Okay."
"Yes!" She shouted. "Great. See you then." She stated and planted a kiss on his cheek and ruffled his wet hair. He smiled and watched her leave the room.
Oh boy. He couldn't stop thinking about Sierra.
That wasn't good…
… …
Liam and Mason were walking down the blocks to the party at one of the Lacrosse players' houses. Liam was nervous. I mean, he wasn't nervous for the party so he was obviously nervous about something else.
"Sierra," Mason stated as if he was reading his mind. Liam frowned.
"What?" He questioned as if he was oblivious to what he meant.
"You're thinking about her." Mason stated as a matter-of-factly.
"No." Liam simply replied, even though he knew he was lying to himself too. Mason sighed and nodded.
"Okay. Is it that obvious?" Liam questioned. Mason shrugged.
"Well you are breathing heavily and you are sweaty so…no. It doesn't show." Mason stated sarcastically.
Liam sniffed his hoodie.
"Do I smell okay?" He asked concernedly. Mason rolled his eyes and shook his head.
"You smell fine." He told him. "Just keep your hair straight." Mason pointed out as he reached for his hair and Liam just shoved him away knowing he was just messing with him.
Mason did that to him all the time; I guess that's why their friendship worked so much.
Liam and Mason reached the house and were met with loud upbeat music playing from the inside whilst people were waltzing in.
Liam and Mason entered the house to see tons of people all gathered in one room. It was so bright with the neon lights flashing from the DJ's stage and the disco ball under the chandelier.
Then as if it wasn't enough, a person from the top of the stairs pulled out his foam gun and began shooting it in the air and at people and it turned out to be a whole foam party with people going nuts over it.
"Now this is an after party!" Mason commented.
Liam nodded but did not answer him as they began moving through the crowded area to the backyard where they saw less people at, congregating with their friends, drinking or either jumping into the pool.
Liam and Mason each grabbed a bottle of diet coke. Liam was skimming through the room in search for Sierra.
"You find her yet?" Mason asked. Liam shook his head.
"Nope,"
"She's probably here somewhere." Mason said with a smile of assurance.
She could probably not be here at all…
Liam shrugged.
"Liam 'Prick face' Dunbar?" the boys heard a voice coming from behind them. Liam spun around to see a familiar face that he immediately recognized.
"Corey?" He exclaimed as he realized it was his former buddy from Davenford Prep.
The two boys greeted each other in a bro hug and pulled away to smile at each other.
"What the hell are you doing here?" Liam asked.
"Well when you left it kinda sucked and when I found out you're in the team that won a place in State Championships, I had to see for myself." Corey said with a slight tease. "Congratulations on your winning goal!"
Liam turned scarlet.
"Thanks man." Liam told him. Corey smiled then moved his eyes over to Mason who was standing closely behind Liam all this time.
He grinned widely. "Hey,"
Mason was dead. He could move a muscle.
It took just one once over to evaluate how hot Corey was. Dark mahogany haired, tall probably 5 ft. 10, light olive skinned, you could vision him being lean especially with the tight tank top he was wearing but he wasn't too big. Gorgeous hazel eyes that would make you melt into oblivion and those lips…
"Hey," The word was finally released from his mouth after a second of waiting. Liam frowned at him.
"I'm Corey." He extended his hand for a handshake. Mason stared at it, the beautiful creation.
"I know who you are. You just said you're name is Corey like a few seconds ago." He pointed out lamely.
"Maybe you're worth introducing to." Corey grinned crookedly.
Mason melted inside. That smile!
"Mason." He shook his hand and after a while –when normal people shouldn't be shaking each other's for this long – they both pulled away to stare at each other.
Corey gave him a once over and Mason noticed it.
Liam could sense the tense in the room and he wanted to break the ice by clearing his throat.
Corey and Mason shifted back to reality and focused their attention on Liam.
"So Liam-" Corey began but he was cut off by somebody calling his name. "Sorry guys."
Mason didn't want him to go.
"I gotta go. Will hopefully see you around?" He asked and took a peak at Mason at saying this. Mason nodded but Liam answered on his part.
"Sure," He said.
Corey nodded. He took one look at Mason with a smirk and walked away.
Liam took it upon himself to approach the situation.
"What just happened?" Liam questioned.
"What? Nothing!" Mason stated. Liam raised his eyebrow. "He's just really a nice guy I guess."
"Right!" Liam chortled and Mason just reddened in embarrassment. He took a glance back at Corey who was standing by bar with his friend (Mason guessed) but what was humorous was he was staring back at Mason as well.
Oh dear god…Mason turned back to his friend –reluctantly– to see him drowning on his coke.
"She'll be here." Mason pointed out.
"I know it's just-"
"Hey guys," Scott's voice appeared as he and Stiles walked up to them. Stiles patted Mason and gave him that Stiles grin that made everyone awkward. Mason frowned.
"Don't mean to be rude but aren't the seniors supposed be at the Jungle club?" Mason pointed out.
"Somebody has to look after you guys." Scott said. Liam frowned at his alpha. He knew something was up. He took a peak behind his shoulder to see Lydia and Kira talking to each other waltz Malia stood protectively, scanning through the room.
Liam gave Scott a look of concern. Scott pulled Liam aside whilst Stiles kept Mason busy.
"There's a wolf on the alert, probably an omega. We're trying to locate where he is." Scott stated.
"Want me to help?" He asked. Scott shook his head.
"No. I want you to stay here and enjoy the party. Don't worry, we'll be fine." Scott smiled. Liam nodded in understanding even though he wanted to help so badly. "Your girlfriend just arrived." Scott whispered to him and motioned to the door.
Liam spun around to see Sierra coming into view with her friend in front.
She looked gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous!
She was indescribable. She was wearing a flowy white see through top that revealed her perfect creamy skin a little, wearing silk black tights and leather rock star boats. She touched her look with minimal makeup on –but that wasn't necessary because she was beautiful either way – and had her hair curled to the side where you could take a full view on her glimmering amber eyes.
Liam's mouth was exposed and his tongue was almost dangling like a dog which makes sense. Stiles wolf whistled to tease Liam a bit but he didn't seem to care.
She didn't notice Liam yet as she entered because she was too busy talking to her friend but you could sense her discomfort.
Liam wanted to approach her so badly and when he had the courage to, his plan was wiped away instantly when he saw Brett walking in behind the two girls and following closely on Sierra's side.
Brett gave him a slight scoff as he caught Liam's eye and walked along.
"Liam, I'm sorry." Scott began but Liam shook his head.
"Don't worry." He said. "I'm fine,"
"Are you sure?" Scott asked in concern for his beta. Even though he wasn't accepting of Liam's feelings for Sierra, he did however know how it felt. The feeling is still there for him, even given the previous circumstance of his first relationship.
"No." Liam simply replied and walked away to get another drink. Sierra and Brett were nowhere in sight and he just sighed.
Maybe he should just forget about it…about here.
… …
Sierra was looking through the crowd, trying to find something to take her mind off the situation she's in.
Brett was blubbering on about all the games he supposedly won in previous matches and bragging about all his trophies and how he might just be the first ever sophomore captain in his team.
Ugh!
Get her out of here.
"So like I have ten trophies and I'm heading for my eleventh. When state champions get here, I'll be a freaking god." He ranted on and Sierra caught a glimpse of Chelsea watching the entire scene, drinking her passion fruit.
"Yeah, that's great um…I'm sorry, will you excuse me for a second?" Sierra asked him but wasn't expecting an answer.
"Yeah…"
She walked up to her friend who raised her hands up to say, 'Why did you do that?'
"I'm sorry Chels, I can't do this." Sierra said.
"But why, everything's going okay right?" She asked. Sierra raised her eyebrow.
"The mannequin with six rows of teeth kept bragging on about his trophies and how 'He's going to be president!'" Sierra stated. Chelsea gasped as if she were being insinuated.
"First of all, his name is Brett and he has great dental care, secondly, he's going to be the captain of the Lacrosse team but President isn't that bad with me as the First Lady!" Chelsea trailed off as she imagined how it'll be. Sierra rolled her eyes. "And thirdly, you promised you'd help me with this."
"No. I promised I'd help you find out if he likes you or not, not listen to his bloody backstory!" Sierra said.
"Did you at least find out if he did?"
"Backstory!" Sierra sighed. Chelsea pouted. "Well he did mention he thought you were hot."
Chelsea widened her eyes.
"No. I am sexy! I'm R-rated sexy! And he should know that because he is too!" Chelsea stated. "Please can you find out more?"
Sierra sighed. "Chelsea I'd like to help you but, I don't think I can get through to him. Plus I don't really like him."
Chelsea rolled her eyes but released a pout. Sierra gave her a sympathetic smile and moved a strand of hair from her face.
"Why don't you just tell him how you feel?" Sierra asked. Chelsea's eyes bulged widely.
"Are you kidding? That's a total no go. Are you trying to kill me? God!" She retorted and shook her head. "That's not a game I want to tread easily on. He needs to make the first move."
"Okay. Do whatever you want but I'm not in it." Sierra chortled. "I don't like this outfit you picked out for me. It's not me…" She stated as she tried loosening the shirt.
"Okay what's really going on?" Chelsea pointed out. "Are you thinking about Liam?"
Sierra didn't answer.
"Wow."
"He's not returning my calls or my texts. I mean, I'm the one who begged him to come and I'm here playing matchmaker." Sierra sighed as she checked her phone. "I can't do that to a friend."
"He's probably around somewhere, I don't know." Chelsea told her. "And it looks like he's more than a friend to me,"
"Oh shut up." Sierra rolled her eyes and released a small smile.
She caught the glimpse of Liam passing by feet away from her and on his way out of the party as he went through the house.
"Oh there he is!" She stated and handed Chelsea her drink and began following him, leaving Brett hanging. Chelsea chuckled nervously when Brett began walking up to her.
Sierra went through the overcrowded house in search of Liam but couldn't find him anywhere until she saw the door opening and she knew that should be him. She followed that root and ran out of the door to see Liam walking towards the woods with his hands in his pockets.
The wind gushed past Sierra and she started feeling the shivers and she wrapped her arms together to cocoon herself.
"Liam!" she called out. He didn't stop or turn around, just continued walking. She frowned. "Liam!"
She began running to him.
"Liam hold on!" She called out then when she reached him; she jumped in front of him with a slight chuckle with her landing. Liam had a stern look in his eyes
Sierra's grin fell. "What's wrong Liam?" She questioned.
"Nothing, Sierra." He told her off and walked past her. Sierra was shocked at how coldly he said her name.
"Liam," She said sadly. Liam refrained from giving in.
"You know what? I thought we were friends!" Liam stated as he spun around to glare at him.
"We are Liam!" Sierra tried to argue.
"No we're not! I came here for you, to hang out with you but then how do you treat the situation?" He questioned and wanted to continue but shook upon it. "Never mind," He replied and walked away.
"Liam,"
"Leave me alone." He replied coldly.
Sierra just stood there, shocked and completely and utterly wounded. She'd never seen Liam like that and she just felt so upset at herself because she was the cause of it.
The cause of losing her friend...
… ...
