chapter #2 What goes up must come down!
Hey Minna-san Lynn here with the second Chapter of Golden Wings! I hope you folks like it!
Now here's Selena and Lita with the disclaimer!
Selena: why, why must we always do the disclaimer?
Lita: yeah why can't you do it?
Lynn: because it shows viewers a different side of the characters!
Selena and Lita: ok fine! Lynn does not own sailor moon or anything you recognize just the self made characters!
Now on with the story!
While Selena slept Amara and Michelle watched over her "there's just something about her Michi. Something that I've never seen before"
Amara said as Selena moaned in her sleep and Michelle nodded " I know what you mean Mara, I feel the same way its like something is pulling us to her."
Suddenly, Selena started to toss and turn on the couch and whimper in her sleep she was dreaming of her past again:
'A lone girl sat in her bedroom and stared out her window to the moon outside. This was the same girl from the first dream who called herself Princess Selenity of the Sun Kingdom only she was much, much older in fact she was having her 18th birthday party tonight. Hers was always celebrated the day before her twins because it was easier for the non-royals to attend two different balls on two different nights.
But instead of being happy she was worried, ever since Beryl had joined in alliance with Dark forces and had begun attacking the planets Selenity knew it would only be a matter of time before the peace of the Golden Sun Kingdom was broken and she hoped that all her people would be safe.
Suddenly a tremor shook the castle then there was screaming and the sounds of running feet outside her bedroom door so Selenity grabbed her staff and brooch and dashed out of her room to her father's Throne room…. then there was a flash of light, followed by darkness'
Selena awoke with tears streaming down her face after she wiped her face, Selena looked around the room and she saw that she was still in Amara and Michelle's apartment but the two girls were not there. Selena got up and walked over to the kitchen where she saw a note on the table,
"Yo, Blondie, Had to go the college. We'll see you later. Lock the door as you leave. Bai, A and M!
Selena then looked over at the clock and said "Oh Hell, I got to hurry up else I'll be late! Thank goodness that the new students only have ½ day at college today. She went up to her place and put on her Pink blouse with a medium length black skirt, black pumps and a black blazer. Then Selena ran out the door, down the apartment stairs and out of the building where she then hailed a cab. Once she was in the cab Selena put on her lipstick, blush and mascara and she tied her hair up into a left-sided ½ bun. When she got to the college Selena dashed up the school stairs to the admissions office. " Whew I just barely made it" she wheezed.
As Selena spoke to the Admissions clerk she not only got her class schedule but a short briefing on the college Do's and Dont's for the semester. Selena then preceded to her first class which was Music History 101.
Once she got to the classroom Selena saw that most of the seats were filled and the teacher had yet to arrive. As she was walking to a seat that was in the back of the room Selena scanned the students to help remember some of her classmates. Once she sat down Selena pulled out her books and started reading them not paying attention to who was sitting next to her.
After a few minutes the teacher walked into the room and started to introduce himself to the class "Hello, My name is Fred Pippins, I am from London, England and my job is to teach all of you about the amazing music and musicians of the past.
Now that I have introduced myself to you I want you all to look to the person on your right and on your left, These people will be your partners for the rest of the semester."
Once he had finished speaking Selena looked to her left and saw a pinkish/red haired girl with big purple eyes who smiled at her and mouthed "talk to you in the cafe at lunch time?" Selena nodded then she looked to her right and saw … "Amara?!"
Amara grinned and whispered " hey little kitten why didn't you tell me you were in the music program?"
Selena shook her head "you never asked me plus I was sick remember? Is Michelle in this program too?" she whispered back and Amara nodded "this one and the art program" Selena nodded " I see, well let's pay attention to the lesson before we get in trouble with the teacher" then she turned to the front of the room and slid on a pair of wire rimmed glasses.
After class was over Selena said bye to Amara and headed to the restrooms.
When she got into a stall Selena heard some girls talking:
"did you hear about those new vigilants?"
"yeah…. It was on T.V last night….. SO COOL!"
the voices faded as two girls left the restroom and Selena shook her head 'honestly, is that all people have to do is gossip?' she thought to herself while washing her hands.
Suddenly a loud 'BANG' echoed through the building and people started screaming
"shoot can't they ever leave me in peace?" the blond girl thought as she ran to the school's rooftop only to see a giant monster that looked like a cross between a T-Rex and a kangaroo. Selena sighed then shot her hand up into the air. She was holding a gold broach that had a silver edging and in the center was a golden sun with a white moon under it. Selena brought the broach down and pressed the sun to her lips then she shouted "Sun Ray Power Make Up!"
There was a flash of light and then where Selena stood there was the same girl but at the same time very different; her reddish golden hair was in two braided bun on her head with a loose end hanging down and orange highlights, she had a sun mark blazing on her forehead, a white top with a yellow bow on the chest, a yellow and orange skirt with a white bow in the back and finally white boots with a golden sun at the top of the boots.
Selena jumped from the roof landing in front of a group of scared girls " you girls get to safety, I'll hold him off." she told the girls who ran into the school.
"Who…. you?" grunted the Rex-a-roo
"For disturbing a place of learning and the joy of making new friends, you must be punished. I am Sailor Sun and in the name of the sun you are toasted!" she said.
" you…. give…. up.. energy" the Rex-a-roo grunted again and hurled a fireball at her.
Sailor Sun jumped out of the way "hey watch it gas breath I said you get toasted not me!" She snapped at it while running towards the monster "HIYA" Sailor Sun yelled as she tried to kick the Rex-a-roo but he grabbed her leg and threw her into a building.
"Owie, that hurt" Sun cried then she jumped dodging another fireball "alright! I've had enough! Solar Lighting STRIKE!" Sailor Sun screamed tossing a bright yellow ball at the monster who growled and swatted at it.
Then Sailor Sun held her hand to the sky and cried "SOLAR STAR Wand!" and to her hand came a gold and silver striped wand. On top of the wand was the symbol of a sun with a star in the center of it.
Sailor Sun jumped out of the path of another fireball and then she spun in a circle and said "Sun Golden Strike!" and in a flash of light and a scream the monster was gone all that remained was a trail of energy going back to its owners.
Sailor Sun smiled as a voice rang out behind her "another one bites the dust Sun-sama." Sun turned around and saw a big black raven that had the sun on one wing and a lighting bolt on the other. "You mean another one gets toasted, don't you Tarrina?" and Sailor Sun grinned as she watched the bird bobbed his head up and down in agreement.
Suddenly, Sailor Sun caught a red and white flash out of the corner of her eye. Glancing around she saw a black cat and a blond girl with a blue, white and red sailor suit. "oh no no no!" Sailor Sun shook her head sadly watching as the girl and cat jumped away "I can't believe she is a scout!" Sailor sun muttered to herself as she dropped her transformation and began walking home not noticing that she walked past Amara and her other music class partner.
Amara and the girl looked at each other and nodded as they started following Selena who decided to go to the pool instead of going home.
When Selena got to the pool she dashed into the changing room and then dived into the big pool.
As she swam she thought of when her and Serena were little how they did everything and shared everything, and how that all changed when Selena turned 13 and got her powers as sailor sun which made her tougher and made her study more.
One week ago Selena and her father got into a big fight and he kicked her out because she had decided to go to college at age 16 while her twin still stayed at Crossroads High.
Selena flipped onto her back and did some backstrokes 'damn it' she thought to herself "I worked so hard to protect her from being a sailor scout and that's the first thing that happens!"
Selena swam back to the edge of the pool and started to climb out when she noticed a hand reaching out to help her, she gazed up and noticed it saw Michelle
Selena did not know that Michelle was watching her for a long time and that Michelle had overheard her talking to herself about the sailor scout confirming Michelle's vision of Selena having a huge weight on her shoulders.
But Michelle knew better than to confront Selena now because that would only scare her off, no Michelle thought I will just bide my time and let Lena slip up on her own because the more you have to hide something the more the thing being hidden tries to come out.
"I find that it is easier to get out of the pool when someone lends a hand" Michelle said gently smiling at Lena who grabbed her hand and got out of the pool " ya, know I didn't really need help to get out. I only accepted because it is the right thing to do when a hand is offered" Selena stated matter of fact as she dried herself off and walked into the changing rooms.
Michelle followed with a slight grin on her face she had been the same once too and Amara pulled her of it and she intended to do the same for Selena one way or another.
As Selena changed into her street clothes she wondered what was Amara and Michelle's angle, after all no one helps someone without wanting something in return that's what Selena had learned living with her sister, mother, brother and father the first three weren't that way but her father was at least he was like that to her for some reason or another
She was the one he hated, he didn't hate her twin or little brother Sammy, no he hated her because she refused to:
One: become a lawyer like him.
Two: she didn't bow to his mother's every whim.
and three: she was different from other Japanese girls, she didn't conform to the family ideals instead she choose to make her own path. Which is another reason why she currently was living in her penthouse apartment by herself.
Finally Selena was done changing her clothes so she left the pool and started walking home 'I guess I should just let nature take it's course after all that might not have been her anyway, that's very unlikely but I can always hope.' She thought to herself as Michelle walked up to Selena "are you sure you're okay Lena? you look a bit shook up." she asked looking at the blond girl with gentle eyes " I'm fine Michelle just pondering my twin sister's brain.. or in some cases the lack there of." Lena responded as they reached the apartment building and went inside.
Michelle nodded then said "I'll see you later Selena and I understand brainless people, sometimes I wonder where Amara went wrong and what happened to her brains!" she smiled as she walked up the stairs.
Selena smiled and checked her mailbox 'Let's see, Junk, Junk, Magazine, School stuff, and care package from mom, Sammy and Serena.'
As she walked up the stairs and was flipping through her mail Selena thought "I should call mom, rena and Sammy before dad gets home."
Suddenly 'BOOM' Selena fell to the floor "owwiee" she muttered "oh my goodness! I am so so so….NEE-CHAN?!" a perky voice squealed from above Selena who looked up to see "Serena! what are you doing here?" Selena said looking at her twin who was grinning down at Selena "me and mamma decided to finish fixing up your place because we all know that while you are an artist you can't decorate a room at all!" she said as she helped her twin up "how did you two get in? I haven't added you guys to the 'Always Let in' list yet" Selena asked as they walked into her penthouse where Ikuko was putting deco pillows on the couch "oh, that nice young man downstairs let us in, you ought to go out with him dear." her mom said as she hugged her daughter who let out a laugh "mama if it is who I think it is Amara isn't a guy, she's a gal!" Selena chuckled as she hugged her mom back and looked around the family room.
"thanks for all the help guys, it means a lot to me especially since dad kicked me out" Selena said while her and her family ate their pizza's after finishing with decorating the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.
Ikuko smiled at Selena "its fine honey no matter what your father says you're still my little girl and I will help you no matter what!"
Serena nodded grinning "yeah sis besides if I didn't come to you how would I pass all my classes?" she said as a black cat walked into the room.
"Hey Luna, meet my twin sister Selena. Sis this is my new cat Luna" Serena chirped as Luna glanced over at Selena then twitched her tail and went to lay in a sunbeam.
Selena narrowed her eyes 'I know that cat and I can't believe she would show her face to me!' she snarled to herself mentally as she glared at Luna who was sleeping peacefully.
'I'll never forgive that fleabag for bringing my twin into this mess!' Selena thought to herself as she kept glaring at the cat.
"We need to get going Lena-nee Dad will be home soon" Serena said snapping Selena out of her angry thoughts as her mom and sister walked to the door.
"okay, see you guys later" Selena said waving bye to her family and watching as Luna jumped onto Serena's shoulder.
"Well I guess I'd better go to bed. I got a big day of school tomorrow" Lena said as she walked back into her apartment and closed the door.

Also to reviewer Nicole: I'm glad you liked the story and no Serena doesn't know that Selena is a scout but as we just saw Selena does know that Serena is Sailor moon! Also, Selena became a scout long long before her sister did. But this happens a few weeks after Serena became sailor moon!
