Not That Kind of Woman
14th down: Smile
There were two things that Hiruma hated in this world and that was weaklings and women. It was obvious why he hated weaklings. They were scared of taking chance and held back by their own demise. Nothing that anybody said would change a thing because it was something they brought upon themselves.
As for hating women, a person like him should have loved all of them. He was not bad looking and was pretty handsome with a defined jawline, wild hair, sharp nose, and defined cheekbones. Not to mention, he was tall, lean, and a quarterback. Most of the women he met only saw those attributes about him and he didn't care. To him, they were nothing. Nobody had ever excited him.
That is, until his second year of high school when he first laid eyes on Mamori. She didn't look like anything special, just an average high school girl with short brown hair, average height and average looks. If she had passed him by the street, he wouldn't have even noticed her.
But, the first thing that made her stand out to him was her intelligence. She was the smartest woman he had ever met and she was confident about it. She wasn't like one of those weak girls that shied away from it all or denied it. She faced him head on and answered all the questions precisely without hesitation. She was the first to make him so mystified that he just walked away without finishing the challenge.
She wasn't your average woman. She wasn't the type of woman to back down from a faced it head on with an unwavering determination etched onto her face.
She wasn't the kind of woman who watched her weight. Three words: Kariya cream puffs.
She wasn't the type of woman to worry about looks. Hiruma had seen her at her worst and at her best. She didn't care for beautiful clothes or jewelry. She wore what was the most comfortable for her. When other women around her carried Chanel or Dior, she was fine with her canvas tote bag. What actually mattered more to her was where she would find Kariya cream puffs in America.
She wasn't the type of woman who judged a person based on looks. When he was on away games, he couldn't deny the fact that many of his female fans wanted to sleep with him and be his mistress. But none of them could ever be at her level. They knew nothing about him except that he was rich and good looking. Mamori knew so much about him that it scared him. To have someone see him for who he truly is and not turn away? That was something he never had and no amount of guns or money could take her away from him.
She wasn't the dependent kind of woman. This might be Hiruma's favorite thing and feared thing. Favorite because she gave him the freedom to do what he wanted and she just supported him. No matter if it was through filling up his rifle as he shot it like thinking while twirling a pencil. No matter if it was through creating a secret sign language that only they knew or silently bandaging his injuries. The most feared part about all of this was the fact that she was so independent and free that she could leave him at anytime. If he had thought about it, what had he ever done for her aside from giving her messes to clean up? If he was gone from her life, would she even miss him? Did he leave an imprint?
"Mr. Hiruma." A voice snapped him out of his thoughts and he remembered that he was in the middle of a post game interview. The Armadillos had just won their fifth game in a row and the fans were cheering louder than before. The crowd still stayed to watch the team do interviews with large broadcasts and goof around.
"Yes?" A devilish smile creeped onto the quarterback's face.
"What kind of person is your fiancee?" The tall man with a navy suit asked in front of a news camera and a microphone in front of Hiruma's face.
"She's my kind of woman." He replied, not looking at the camera, but looking at the woman making her way through the crowd and onto the field with a clipboard in one hand and a creampuff in the other.

A/N: I got inspired from the manga chapter where Hiruma tells Suzuna that Mamori's not that kind of woman. Squeals! Feel free to write a review :)
