Who's Dating Who?

16th Down: Questioning

Ojo White Knights and Deimon Devilbats were gathered at the local yakiniku restaurant. Being the only three girls in the testosterone-filled room, they had a small table for themselves. It was the first time the girls were meeting each other and there was a slight too much water drinking and shuffling with the napkins.

Suzuna looked around and her eyes turned a little bit too shiny. Mamori did not have a good feeling about this. The girl opposite of Mamori was quietly grilling the food when she looked up and saw Suzuna's face inches from her.

"Koharu." Suzuna smiled widely. "Can I call you that since we're the same age?"

"Y-yes." Wakana said quietly, it was barely audible with the sizzling of the beef and the craziness from the boys' screaming.

"Are you dating anyone from the Ojo White Knights?" Suzuna asked.

"What? No, of course not! There's nobody on the team I'm dating, honest." Wakana was finally sounded more audible though her voice became higher than usual. Her face was turning a little red.

"Are you sure? Your face is turning into a tomato." The little blue haired girl was having fun with this.

"I would never date someone on the team. Besides, right now is the time for them to practice to get into the Christmas Bowl." Wakana replied.

Mamori quietly ate her meat, but she wasn't going to be left out as well.

"Actually, I think you're a bit suspicious, Mamo-nee." Suzuna's little antennae was pointed in her direction.

"What's with that antennae?" Mamori was starting to feel a little nervous. She nearly choked on the glass of water as she drank it to give her some time.

"I've seen you stare at You-nii during practice." She accused and smiled.

"O-of course I have to stare at him. I'm the manager, I need to look at all our players." Mamori replied.

"Really? Then why are you always fighting with him? Hmm?"

"So I heard about the Ballista. It's Oujou's new defense formation, isn't it?" Hiruma shouted loudly and Suzuna's attention was diverted once again.

"Is it?" Takami pushed up his glasses. "I thought it was an ancient battle siege used in the middle ages."

"Fucking glasses." Hiruma cackled.

Suzuna yawned at all that football talk and turned back around at Mamori, who almost made her escape. "Where are you going, Mamo-nee?"

"To get some more beef." Mamori said weakly. She then saw Sena and Yukimitsu sitting at the take full of linemen. "Look, there's an eating competition!"

Suzuna's eyes lit up at Sena and she quickly changed into her cheering outfit. "Ya~~ SENAAAA!"

Mamori sighed and plopped down on her chair. Wakana smiled at her shyly and kept to herself.

"Thanks for the food." Everyone said to Gunpei and he just waved as he followed Doburoku outside. The people split up to different ways.

"Mamori nee-chan, you can go on ahead first. I'm going to walk Suzuna back home." Sena smiled and Mamori nodded. Taki had long since spun away to another location to play and it wouldn't be safe for a high school girl to go home alone. She watched as Sena and Suzuna walked away and smiled bittersweetly.

"Fucking manager, you almost got caught." A voice emerged from the shadows. His devilish smile that spread from ear to ear and his piercings caught the light of the dim street lamp.

"If only you had planned your distraction faster." Mamori huffed and she began walking away. Hiruma walked next to her and grabbed her hand in his. He blew a bubble with the sugarless gum he just popped into his mouth.

"What if people see us?!" Mamori looked around cautiously.

"We have idiots on the team. Besides, if you get kidnapped at this time, who the fuck would help me out on the field."

"Whatever you say." Mamori looked up at the blond and smiled. She clutched his hand tightly as they walked down the street.
