I don't own any anime. I have no idea why this was so hard to write. Still not to happy with it, but here you go.
Inuyasha stood on a hill overlooking his village waiting for his older brother. One of the terms of the truce they'd called was never to surprise one another when avoidable and Jaken had been sent a head to tell Inuyasha they were coming. His son hung off his arm asking if he could ride the dragon when his uncle and cousin arrived.
He didn't answer the boy, because frankly he had no idea why they were coming. If Rin needed to see Kagome then no. But if Rin was free she could take the boy for a ride. they'd know soon enough.
Sesshomaru, Rin, and the dragon came in to view. As soon as they'd landed the boy darted up to Sesshomaru, "Can I ride Ah Un?" Sesshomaru nodded. He'd hoped the child would distract Rin, he needed to speak to his sister-in-law without Rin's presence. The child cheered as Rin helped him up then took off, flying the dragon in circles over the village.
"Where is your wife? I wish to speak with her." Sesshomaru asked once Rin and his nephew where out of earshot.
"Rin problems?" When had Inuyasha become perceptive? "She should be at home, she had the baby, a girl. We decided to name her after Keade." Inuyasha's other children were named after Kagome's brother, Sota and Inuyasha's mother Izyoai. Sota was the only one big enough for dragon rides however, Izyoai was only 3.
They reached the house and ducked in. Jaken immediately jumped up and greeted his lord. "Jaken, leave us." He ordered before taking a seat across from his sister-in-law, who held her newborn in arms.
"Hello Sesshomaru. How are you?" Kagome asked looking up from the baby in her arms. An interesting question, one he wasn't sure how to answer. Smiling at him Kagome asked "Let me guess, you need help with Rin? You have the same look you had when she became a woman."
He remembered that occasion all to well. He'd known women bleed, and that eventually Rin would become a woman. But he had not been prepared, had no idea what to do about the blood, the pain, or her foul mood. He had brought her to the only human woman he knew, his brother's wife.
He took a breath, how could he put this? "Rin has become infatuated with a young man."
"Awwww, how sweet."
He frowned, that was not the response he'd wanted. "He has asked my blessing to marry her..."
"Oh my god! Really? Rin's engaged?"
"No, she is not! She is to young. I told him as much." He wished she would stop interrupting, this was difficult enough as it is.
"She's 14, Sesshomaru, she's of age."
"Miko, please stop interrupting me." He hadn't meant to so sound cross. "Shortly after I... over heard a conversation..."
"You mean you were eavesdropping?"
"Over heard a conversation between the two." Yes, he had eavesdropped, but he wasn't going to admit it. "He want's to wait until I feel she is old enough. But Rin wishes to defy me, she has suggested they elope."
Kagome gave him a small sad smile. "I know it's hard Sesshomaru, but Rin is growing up. You have to accept that. If you don't they probably will elope, and that will only hurt your relationship with her. Even if you forgive each other right away there will likely still be bitterness."
He had hoped she'd have some real advice. Some way to talk sense into the girl. "She's to young."
"Then give them your blessing, but ask that they wait a year or two. That's the best advice I can give you." his sister-in-law told him. "Otherwise you could ruin your relationship. I know that would devastate both of you."
This was the best advice she could give? Let them have his blessing? No way to talk her out of it? No way to make Rin see that it was a mistake?
He looked away from his sister-in-law and his eyes fell on the toddler playing with a cloth ball in the corner. He didn't know Rin when she was that age. She'd seemed to tiny then. Now it seemed like she'd been half grown when he found her, he hadn't been a father long and already he was loosing her.
"C'mon Sesshomaru, did you come here for advice or so my wife could tell you what you want to hear?" Inuyasha asked from the door way. He then walked over to the little girl and picked her up, sitting down beside Kagome with Izyoai in his lap.
"That child will be Rin's age one day."
"And that terrifies me. But that's what kids do, they grow up. Miroku always had a way with women, if you want to pick his brain him and Shippo will be back around sunset. But he'll probably tell you the same thing."
