Summary: [Set in the Anime Universe] Hao survives after Yoh's final attack. When rescued by Opacho he doesn't remember a thing. What happens when they go to Tokyo and run into Yoh and the gang? Read and find out.

- Chapter Nine - Flowers -
-Normal P.O.V-
Everything was going pretty well. Yoh and Hao had found comfort in one another, they felt free to speak openly to each other about practically everything. The twins had gone to the town centre together on multiple occasions, just the two of them of course. Horohoro had always made it a point to poke fun at Yoh, claiming that they were dates when in actuality they weren't. Well at least they weren't for Yoh. Hao however, was completely smitten.
The past month he had known Yoh he had fallen hard. The connection he felt with Yoh was so strong, that he could feel his emotions burn in his soul. Hao put it upon himself to make sure that his feelings were pronounced. He had made multiple advances on the younger Asakura, subtle advances, but advances non-the-less.
Whenever the opportunity to hold Yoh's hand, link arms with Yoh, stoke his cheek or even run his fingers through Yoh's hair, came, Hao took it in a heart beat. The best part was that Yoh let him. Yoh let Hao do all these things and even did them back. For Yoh it was just brotherly affection but for Hao is was another story.
Yoh, Manta and Hao were sitting on a bench under a tree. The suns ferocious blaze was too much for Yoh and Manta, and they were sweating like mad. Hao on the other hand felt perfectly fine.
"Hao-kun, how are you not melting!" Manta panted. The short shaman had warmed up to Hao a lot more, however he did still think of Hao as a potential threat.
"It's not that hot today stop over reacting." Hao smiled, he looked up and admired how the suns rays made the leave of the tree glitter. "Perhaps you should stop concentrating on how hot you are, and focus on something else." He offered.
"Can we get ice cream!" Yoh managed to breathe out. Hao stared at the younger Asakura and chuckled before getting up.
"How about I buy you two ice cream, I'll back in a minute okay."
"I want a bubblegum ice lolly!" Manta hollered.
"I want a watermelon ice lolly!" Yoh cried.
"You two are so hopeless." Hao said shaking his head before walking away from Yoh and Manta.
"Y'know Yoh-kun, if you had told me a month ago that one day Asakura Hao would be buying me a bubblegum ice lolly, I would have told you to stop taking whatever you've been smoking." Manta mused. Yoh just laughed as a response.
"Yeah! In all honesty I didn't think anything like this could ever happen, I kinda wish he never regains his memory!"
"So you two could hold hands and hug and kiss like boyfriends." Yoh blushed and he turned to Manta who was smirking casually.
"WHAT! Hao and I are not boyfriends! Good lord you sound like Horohoro!" Yoh pushed Manta hard enough to push him over but not hard enough to hurt him.
"You gotta admit the two of you do get awfully touchy-feely." The blonde stated.
"Yeah but Hao's starts it, and I can't exactly say no, seeing as I'm an alleged closet gay!" Manta burst into laughter, that joke had been running strong among everybody in the onsen, and to this day was still hilarious. Manta wiped a tear from his before speaking.
"I know, I know, but if you want Hao to stop then you gotta tell him, cause right now you're not exactly saying red light. Meaning he has no real reason not to." Yoh looked down before hanging his head. Sure to anyone the Asakura Twins looked like lovers, they were so close, they hugged, Hao touched and Yoh never really said no.
'Me and Nii-chan? That's weird, and incestuous, plus I'm not... Am I?' Yoh's mind drifted back a few nights back when he had caught Anna and Pirika... Together. Then he proceeded to imagine that, that he was Anna and Hao was Pirika, laying kisses on his...
"Yoh-kun, Manta-kun, I got you ice lollies." Yoh looked up at Hao, who had in his hands three ice lollies. Yoh took the watermelon flavoured treat from Hao's hand and thanked him, Manta took his and dug in, almost taking a bit out wrapper. Hao smiled at the two and sat back down.
"My goodness you two, you're like children." Hao chuckled as he lapped at his ice-cream cone. "What were you two talking about whilst I was away?" Yoh glared at Manta who had a slight cheeky smile wiped on his face.
"Just about how Mosuke and I are just going to be practising tonight." Manta declared proudly.
"You and Mosuke are at it like all the time Manta, make sure you don't run yourself ragged trying to better yourself." Hao tipped his head still licking his ice cream.
"Who's Mosuke?" Both Yoh and Manta froze.
"M-Mosuke is my piano teacher!" Manta lied, far too enthusiastically mind you. "My father really wants me to take up classical music, he thinks it'll better my, uh, cultural understanding?!" The uncertainty in Manta's voice made Yoh cringe slightly, but Hao merely smiled.
"Is that so, well then I hope to hear you play sometime." Manta and Yoh laughed nervously, finding that the sweat running down their faces wasn't as much from the heat of the sun but at that close call.
The rest of the afternoon melted away, Manta had eventually left for 'piano' practice with Mosuke, leaving Yoh and Hao to wander through the town aimlessly. It was fun for the both of them. They walked around, in and out of shops with their arms linked, earning stares from strangers. It was bordering sunset and the twins found themselves in the local botanical gardens, the way the orange sky made the windows shimmer. It was beautiful.
"I've never been to this place before, it's so lovely." Yoh stated whilst looking at the greenery.
"Not many come here. It's a shame really with all these beautiful flowers and plants, it's sad knowing this sight will go unseen." Hao pouted whilst smelling one of the exotic flowers.
"Yeah, that's the same for the old museum... I'm glad that you took me here Hao-kun it means alot." Yoh found himself blushing. Hao looked over to Yoh.
"Hey Yoh-kun, which one of these flowers would you say was your favourite?" Hao asked, Yoh looked around for a second until his eyes laid on an arrangement of beautiful orange hibiscus flowers.
"These orange ones." He stated whilst pointing at the flowers.
"You like the orange hibiscus? My personal favourite are the red roses however all these flowers are magnificent."
"You really like flowers don't you Hao-kun?"
"I love all things mother nature gives us, but yes I do have a fondness for flowers especially. I even have a small flower garden of my own." Hao seemed to gleam with pride.
"I'd like to see it sometime."
"Well why not now? My house isn't too far from here."
"Actually I think I should be getting home, Anna just might kill me if I'm not back for dinner." Hao frowned.
"Fine, perhaps another time then?" He tried.
"Defiantly!" Yoh perked up making Hao smile. "But seriously, I really should get going now." Hao nodded and took Yoh's hand before leading him outside the centre.
"Oh Yoh-kun I almost forgot something, just wait here a second, I'll be right back." Hao skipped back into the botanical garden. Yoh wondered what he had forgotten, it wasn't as though they brought anything into the centre with them.
Yoh's thoughts were dismissed as a few minuets later Hao came back with a small bouquet of orange hibiscus flowers. Yoh's mouth was gaped for a moment, as Hao handed Yoh the flowers, the younger Asakura's lips curved into a massive smile. He brought the flowers up to his face and smelled them. He looked his brother in the eyes and used the bouquet to cover his red cheeks.
"Thank you, Hao-kun." Yoh whispered, Hao opened his arms and Yoh practically jumped into them, his arms hooking around Hao's neck and Hao's arms hooked around Yoh's waist.
"You're welcome, Yoh-kun." Yoh pulled back from the hug but Hao still held him close. The twins found themselves only inches from each others faces. Yoh's smile faded and he found himself biting his bottom lip. Hao leaned in, their lips were so close to touching. Yoh felt tense and as he felt Hao's breath upon his lips he took in a sharp breath. Hao moved slightly and grazed his nose against Yoh's in an Eskimo kiss before pulling back with a smile on his face.
Yoh looked at Hao with big eyes. Hao stroked on of Yoh's cheeks with the back of his hand before turning and walking away.
"Yoh-kun, we should do this again sometime okay." Hao spoke, looking over his shoulder.
Yoh looked down before looking back at his brother. "Defiantly."
It was only when Hao was out of sight did Yoh come to life. He turned around and walked back home at a slow pace. It took at least thirty minutes to walk back to the Funbari onsen. He had been only a couple centimetres from his first kiss, he clutched the bouquet to his heart which was beating heavily. Manta was right after all, perhaps Hao did have stronger feelings than Yoh thought he did.
Yoh took off his shoes as he walked inside the onsen, he pulled back the screen door revealing all of his friends sitting at the table about to tuck in, even Manta was there.
"Yoh! Where have you been!" Anna scolded. Yoh looked down before going into the kitchen.
"We were out at the botanical gardens down town." He hollered from the kitchen.
"By 'we' you don't mean you know who do you?" Manta mused, Yoh came back from the kitchen with the hibiscus flowers in a vase.
"Yep." He placed the vase on display on one of the shelves of a cabinet.
"Ooo did you're boyfriend get you those pretty flowers, I bet you two kissed didn't you and at sunset! Yoh-kun you lewd boy." Horohoro chuckled hysterically. Yoh took his place at the table.
"Yes." Was all Yoh said with a very straight face.
"Wait. Yes to the flowers or yes to the kissing?" Horo pried.
"Yes." Yoh poured himself some tea and began to sip. All eyes laid on him.
"WHAT!" They all cried in unison.
"Yoh are you serious right now?!"
"Yoh-dono! You and this mystery man are now lovers?!"
"SOMEONE BEST PICK UP THAT PHONE, CAUSE I CALLED IT!"
The room filled with everyone's questions, but Yoh answered none of them, he merely blushed whilst entertaining the thought of what it would be like to actually kiss Hao's lips.
