"Penny, just breathe" Leonard said, pulling her into a tight hug. Tears streamed down her face, and goose bumps rose on her arms. She snuffled into his shoulder,
"Leonard…"
"Penny stop, just cry. Just let it all go. I am here for you." Leonard smiled, wiping Penny's stray strand of hair out of her bright blue eyes.
"Why" Penny raised her head. "Leonard, why are you here. You didn't ask for this, you are successful. You had a good job; you're a doctor for god's sake. You didn't ask for that night, when this happened" Tears multiplied down the side of her face, as she indicated to her slightly larger tummy. "Leonard, you are too good for me, you don't need to be here. I can do this by myself. I just thought you should know, because…"
"Penny, stop" Leonard burst in, trying to find a part of the rant where Penny actually took a breath.
"Just stop, you are being too hard on yourself. I wouldn't be here, if I didn't want too, or I didn't care about you."
"Really?" Penny looked up, bringing both her hands up to her puffy swollen cheeks, to remove the warm tears.
"Of course, Penny. I've never seen you like this. Why are you so worried?"
"Because, this will ruin everything. I mean, we aren't even together. And now, I am knocked up, and your stuck with me" a smile formed on her face, and a small chuckle escaped from her lips.
"I'll be here for you, even if you don't want me too."
"Oh shut up"
Penny lunged forward, and connected her lips with Leonard's almost immediately.
"Thank you" Penny mumbled, "for being here for me"
"Goodnight Penny" Leonard said, standing up and heading out the door.
"Leonard wait!" Penny sprung to her feet, chasing him out into the hallway.
"Is Jennifer's apartment still available?" Penny asked, leaning up against the wall.
Instantly, a smile formed on his face. "Yeah, I think it is…"
"I might have to look into it then"
"That, that would be nice" he stuttered.
"Okay"

Penny's point of view
"You did not just say that!" I yelled, slapping Jennifer on the shoulder.
"No apologies" Jennifer rebounded, "you know you want too. One last 'fling' before I leave. Don't be a party pooper!"
"Well excuse me, I can't drink anyways. Or fit in any of my dresses!"
"Oh bitch please, you can't even notice it, and you don't have to drink, just come have a good time with your best friend before I leave!" Jennifer pleaded.
"Look, you know I am going to miss you like crazy, so why can't we just sit at home and watch a movie?" I suggested, trying to get out of a crazy night out with Jennifer, knowing I wasn't ready.
"Okay, lets compromise. We go to the movies." Jennifer said, also browsing her phone at the same time.
"Okay, another compromise. We go to your apartment, and watch a movie"
"Can't we just watch a movie here? It's like a 10 minute drive…"
"Or, we can start to take some of my stuff over, for when you leave or something"
Or see Leonard. Wait, why were these thoughts in my head. We weren't together, this was crazy. He had no interest in me, and we had nothing in common except the baby growing in my stomach. There was no reason why he would want me to come over; he'd probably be with all his friends. I had already ruined his life enough; I think I should just leave him alone. For now, anyways.
"Penny!" Jennifer exclaimed, almost yelling in my face.
"What!" I replied, equally annoyed.
"You aren't even listening to me! We need plans for tonight; my second last night in Pasadena can't be spent without doing something amazing with my best friend. Listen to me, you just need one night, to forget about everything that is going on."
"I just don't really feel up to it, sorry Jen"
"Fine, don't party with me before I move 20,000 miles across the world."
She was so stubborn.
"Fine, movie."
"Okay? Really! Did you want to invite anyone else?"
"What? Who would I have to invite anyways?" Man, I sounded so defensive.
"Hmm, I don't know, some bespectacled little fellow who lives across the hallway from me?"
"No! This is our night. Leonard and I aren't even 'together' and I doubt there will be anytime that we will be. He knows that it's his choice if he wants to be involved in this baby."
"Penny, how far along are you?" Jennifer asked, with a worried look on her face.
"About 10 weeks, why?"
"Anytime before 14 weeks, you can terminate the pregnancy?"
There it was, those words I know would come eventually, but I couldn't bear to hear.
"Have you at least thought about it? Talked to Leonard about it?"
"What NO! I haven't even thought about it. Jenny, I can't believe you'd bring this up"
"So you're entirely happy to be carrying a man's baby, that you aren't even with, and that you don't even know wants to be involved?"
"I don't know" I defended, with tears forming in the corner of my eyes.
"Okay, do one thing for me, before I leave. Talk to Leonard about it, I don't know if you're ready for this, if he is ready for this and I don't want it to come between you and your studies, okay?"
"Fine!"
I hated it how she was always right.
"Do you think we should go over there now?" Jennifer asked.
"No, I don't want him to see my like this, I am a mess!"
"No offence, sweetie. But really, over the next nine months, he will see you worse than this, I mean. You're having his kid Pen, chill out. He likes you, trust me."
I honestly hated being so insecure, was it because of the hormones, or was I just smitten for Leonard.
"When did you become so wise, like seriously, it's starting to freak me out. Normally I am the mature one."
"Well, I've stepped up tonight, is that so hard to believe? I need to know that you will be already when I leave, otherwise I am not leaving."
"You have to go, it's your dream job! And, in Australia no less. Although, once you get on your feet, promise you will come back and visit me, I mean us."
"Most definitely, and Penny… does your version of us include Leonard?"
"Hopefully" I mumbled.
"Just do me one thing, talk to Leonard about it. About if you are both ready… I'll take you over there now if you'd like. You can stay at mine tonight"
"You are amazing, how did I ever end up with a best friend as amazing as you. Can we go?"
"Sure thing"
It was about a 10 minute drive from my apartment, to Jennifer's 4th storey apartment, where I would hopefully soon live. It was on a street called Los Robles, and it was such a cute little building. When Jennifer told me the elevator was broken, it basically cut my hopes and dreams of living there.
After making it up the stairs, Jennifer went straight into the apartment, and I knocked on Leonard door.
"Yes?" A deep male voice answered the door.
"You must be Sheldon, nice to you." I smiled, greeting the strangely tall and skinny man.
"The fact that I must be Sheldon is a paradox, because of the fact that if my parents didn't name me Sheldon approximately nine months after their coitus encounter, my name would not be Sheldon. So there for your statement that I must be Sheldon is incorrect".
"Okay, I am Penny"
"Okay, I've heard a lot about you, Penny. Is there a reason you're here?"
"I'd like to see Leonard, if that's okay" I asked, still dumbfounded by what came out of Sheldon mouth moments ago.
"You can't, he's occupied"
"Well can I wait?"
"He's in the shower, so sure. But you may not wait in the lounge room. If you wish to wait, you must wait either here, or in his bedroom. I don't like guests when I am playing Zork. Its in the roommate agreement."
"What? So you just want me to stand out here? While he showers?"
"Preferably. Or as I said, you can wait in his bedroom."
I didn't need this. I just barged past Sheldon, and straight into Leonard bedroom. Although I didn't know what room was his, the fact that one had the door closed, and one had a pair of spare glasses on the bedside table and a double bed, basically assured me that it was Leonard's room.
I walked in, and sat. Man, how long did his showers take?
It wasn't long until the bathroom light switched off, and the door swung open with the steam bursting out, and Leonard, with his bottom half wrapped in a brown towel.
"Penny?" Leonard exclaimed, in an also scared voice.
"Hi" I stood up. There was silence.
"Sorry, I should go"
"No stay!" He immediately bite back.
"Okay" I replied, sitting on the edge of his bed.
Leonard stood awkwardly, half naked.
"I'm just gonna get dressed"
"Okay" I lied back on the bed, oblivious to what he said. "Oh right, I should probably leave for a sec!" I realised, and jumped to my feet.
"Its okay."
It's like he'd never changed in front of a girl before. He was so awkward.
"Leonard, I won't look"
"Look? Why would you look? There's nothing to see. Well not nothing, you know." Even I knew he was almost shaking.
"Look come here." I said, pulling him into a hug. "I am carrying your baby, I know exactly what's there" I joked, as I sat back down on his bed.
