Hey everyone another update and as promised there is some sweet fluffiness in this chapter, thank you everyone for your follows and reviews. I really enjoy writing this story, and AmyNChan hopefully the end of this chapter will help answer your question ^~^ Reviews always welcome so enjoy!

"Alright everyone great job." Garrus smiled the way a turian could with his mandibles slightly extended, although sometimes you could mistake it for a grimace. It had been very successful despite their track record when Kate had leaded missions in the past. They managed to stop the indoctrinated hanar and Kasumi even showed up to help, on top of the fact there were no casualties. Well except Vega's pride when Kasumi ignored him outright and had asked the turian himself if he had heard from Jacob since everyone went their own way. He didn't know himself honestly, so he asked if she knew about the artifact and Kate's situation after he explained it to her.

"Well if all else fails a five-year-old can figure out how to use a gun." That was the one thing that stuck with him after she had said it. He didn't want to think about her staying as a five-year-old or having to watch her grow up while he becomes an old turian, he did promise her to marry her, and even though it was to her as a child, he meant it wholly with his heart. They were all back on the Normandy now and he was about to go hit the showers to think about the dilemma until a certain quarian stood in his path.

"Umm Garrus I believe you should go to the kitchen." Tali did the equivalent of a human scratching the back of her head.

"Why what happened?" His mandibles twitched uneasily. Did Kate get hurt trying to do something? No it couldn't be she would have been in the med bay with Chakwas then if that was the case.

"It uh would be better if you saw instead of me explaining to you." She hung her head and crossed her arms. Something was wrong he could tell. His mandibles twitched erratically and he began running to the elevator, she had to be ok. She just had to be. When he got into the elevator he couldn't stop himself from nearly punching the button several times until the door finally closed and it began taking him to the crew's quarters.

"Kate!" The moment the doors had opened he ran, nearly tripping trying to squeeze out of the elevator before the doors fully opened, and what he saw made his jaw drop and his mandibles hang out in surprise. There on the table in the mess was a full course dextro-levo meal, everything ranging from fish that he hadn't eaten since Palaven to the simplest of dextro chocolates. He felt his mouth water and blushed when he heard a giggle and felt a tug on his hand.

"Tali helped me make it, do you like it?" He smiled and picked up Kate nuzzling her soft skin and kissing her forehead.

"Yes sweetie it looks amazing." And he meant it, he couldn't see how a five-year-old human girl and a quarian, who survived off paste, could pull off something this amazing. He pulled up a seat and chuckled as she adamantly sat in his lap, pouting when he tried moving her to the seat beside him, eventually he gave in and watched her curiously as she picked up a forkful of the fish and offered it up to him.

"Open mouth!" She partially demanded as he obliged letting her feed him, he couldn't help but blush as he let her feed him. Although he was impressed, the flavors and the textures, it reminded him of home. He couldn't help but purr in appreciation at what his love did for him.

"You knew I missed home didn't you?" He nuzzled her hair inhaling her scent after he had finished the fish.

"Well I know your mom's not doing so well and that you still haven't heard from your father or sister so I just thought I could cheer you up." Kate blushed brightly as he chuckled. She always had worries about meeting his family and if they would ever like her, and he knew if they saw how much she tried to make him feel comfortable and even went to the extent of cooking food from Palaven that they would welcome her as one of their own despite not being a turian girl.

"Thank you." He hugged her tightly and began nuzzling her chuckling lightly as she began to giggle.

"Garrus that tickles!" She giggled louder and tried tickling him back to no avail.

Hours later they had finished the food and the both of them were curled up in Kate's bed again, Garrus had fallen asleep the moment his head hit the pillow and Kate had watched him sleep peacefully before falling asleep herself. Although while Garrus was having good dreams, Kate was having to deal with turmoil within her conscious.

"Kate we have to grow up, people need us." She was staring at the version of herself that was her before she was hit by the prothean artifact. She knew she had to grow up, knew she was the only one who could make a stand against the Reapers.

"I want to I just don't know how." She pouted, it was unfair of the older Kate to say it. She wasn't a child watching from the sidelines, watching her crew go on missions without her worrying about if any of them wouldn't come back. Being treated like a child, watching with pain as her own love coddled her, she couldn't help it that her mind was trapped like this. She couldn't control it, scared that she'd be 22 years behind everyone else that she'd have to go through school again and the academy. The older Kate smiled knowingly.

"Believe in yourself and Garrus, don't give in to fear. I know it must be scary but remember who you are, everyone believes in you and that you'll pull through this so just have faith in yourself."

"How can you be so sure?" Young Kate pouted.

"Because I know everything will be ok, and I know that you will walk down that altar and you will marry Garrus." They both blushed and laughed.

"Ok! She grinned and nodded her head happily. She had to get better, and she would become Mrs. Kate Shepard-Vakarian by the time the Reapers were destroyed. She knew it in her heart.

Ack the feels! When i first started writing this i half expected to have Garrus run into the mess and see the entire floor and ceiling covered in flour, but i decided i liked it this way better. I always wonder how the meeting between his family would go well or not and i wish they had added it in 3 for Shep to meet thier love interest's family in a friendly setting not business or when she had to save them for a loyalty mission like Miri's and Thane's. :) Hope you all enjoyed the chapter and until next time!
