A/N: And another slightly short(in my opinion) chapter up! I hope all of you reading enjoy this one-shot turned story so far, I know I've been updating every other day but expect the updates to start slowing down abit as I decided to start re writing my other two fics i have currently posted and I'm uploading a new story up soon in the DA category. Anyways enjoy!
Garrus stood at the counter fidgeting with the coffee maker, all he wanted was some coffee but the infernal machine irritated him to no end. He hadn't even heard of a Keurig much less how to work it, as he stared at it incredulously a familiar voice popped up behind him.
"Having trouble with getting some coffee Vakarian?" The taunt in the voice made him nearly drop his mug. He whirled around to see Kate standing behind him, and she was smirking. He did a double take. It was Kate and she was taller now, coming up to halfway to his chest plate. She aged somehow but not back to her actual age, he surmised she looked about 15-16 so she aged about 10 years. She was wearing a long grey shirt that barely covered her rear, with long black socks that went over her knees. He had to admit she looked cute like that, her crimson hair that was so short before now fall to her mid back. She caught him staring and blushed a color that matched her hair. "S-Stop looking at me like that nothing else fit!" Her hands immediately went to the bottom of the shirt pulling it down to make it stretch and look longer as he chuckled.
"I can't help it if my commanding officer looks adorable." He teased and in response she glared daggers at him.
"Shut up."
"I'm only stating the truth." He grinned and pulled her in his arms. He had never seen this side of her, so shy and so unlike the proud woman he fell in love with. Although that just made him love her more, and he couldn't pass up the opportunity to tease the living hell out of her until she fully recovered.
"G-Garrus stop!" She blushed even brighter struggling to get out of his grasp.
"Never." He grinned as he hoisted her up onto the counter by the bane of his morning. "Not until you show me how to work this thing." Kate grinned in reply.
"Didn't you just say never?"
"Would you rather I keep holding you and tease you or would you rather make your grumpy turian coffee?" He raised his eyebrow mockingly, of course he was still going to tease her but she didn't need to know that.
"Ugh. Fine I guess you can have your coffee Mister stick up his ass." She huffed and began working the Keurig like it was the easiest thing to do in the world.
"Hey don't forget I pulled that stick out and started beating people with it, just ask Joker." He grinned as she laughed. That laugh hearing it again, albeit a few tones higher than what he was used to made his heart swell, maybe soon she'd be able to be back in action where she belonged. Soon his coffee was made and they both sat at the table in the mess.
"Garrus I," She paused mid-sentence trying to think of how to word it right, "When can I go back into the field again?" She nursed her coffee as he took a sip of his.
"I don't know Kate I would rather you not be in battle until you're fully recovered back to your regular age, but maybe we can spar later and do some target practice and maybe you can come on a mission." Kate rolled her eyes at his response.
"Vakarian I am your commanding officer don't forget that." She mustered her most authoritative voice that she could muster.
"I could never forget that my CO is this adorable." He chuckled in response as she nearly choked on her coffee.
"You're an ass Garrus." She sputtered out between fits of coughing.
"Yeah but I'm your ass sweetie."
Hehe and another chapter done! Kate finally aged abit but not how Garrus quite expected :) Everyone usually imagines Shepard so it was really fun writing her the way she's been so far, anyways see you all next time. Reviews are always always welcome!
