Hey everyone sorry for the late update! I meant to update on thursday but I had a root canal done that day and I've been loopy the past few days. I managed to make this chapter 1.039 words! So its twice as long as the shorter chapters I have been writing. I hope you all enjoy!

It had been a month since they had cleared Kate of going back into the field, as it had gone by she seemed to only have aged a couple of more years, physically 22. During that month she had gone to Tuchanka with Tali, and Javik helping Wrex with his home world's problem. Garrus had been at his wit's end when he heard about all the thresher maws and the reaper that had been there. Thankfully they all got out ok… well except for Mordin, which had hit everyone hard. They of course held a memorial on Tuchanka before they left and Wrex had said after he named his first born Shepard he would name the second born after the salarian, Eve had agreed with a solemn nod.

Now here he was on the citadel waiting for his date at the D24 docking bay and his beloved CO was late, again. He couldn't help but chuckle at the irony.

"Of course the woman who went about putting the galaxy first would be late for a date."

"Oh really Vakarian, did you think I would forget about little old you?" A pair of arms wrapped around his chest from behind and he noticed the box of turian chocolates in her hands as they came around to his chest plate. He couldn't help but let out a satisfied trill.

"Chocolates Kate? You sure know a way to a turian's heart." He chuckled as he was released from her grip.

"More so to your stomach Garrus, so where are we going for this little date?" She gave him a cheeky grin as he was handed the chocolates.

"Well get in the car and you'll find out dear." Winking at her he opened the door to the car he had rented and helped her in before hopping into the driver's seat himself.

10 minutes later they had arrived at the Presidium, namely Garrus' favorite spot that he hadn't shown anyone else since he had discovered it in his C-Sec days. He already had everything set up, sure it wasn't a conventional date, but he knew Kate would still appreciate it. Garrus grinned at the confused look on Kate's face when they arrived.

"I know you aren't one for conventional dates so I thought I'd show you my own sanctuary, I used to come here all the time back in my C-Sec days and just think; and just because it's a date doesn't mean we can't have a friendly competition." He couldn't help but grin as he handed her a Viper and then grabbed a few empty bottles.

"I'm down, what are the rules?"

"We take turns taking shots at these empty bottles, first one to miss a shot loses. Since I'm a gentleman you can go first." He smirked as she checked the rifle and readied it.

Garrus couldn't help but groan, they were tied 15-15. At this rate they'd be going till sunset, just then he thought of his present and realized he could use it as a secret weapon. It was Kate's turn to shoot and he had the bottle in one hand, and his other was in his pocket holding the gift.

"Are you ready Kate?"

"Yes, just throw it already Garrus."

"Ok," As he threw it he couldn't help himself, "Kate will you marry me?" Her body jerked in surprise when she heard those words and her shot that would've hit the bottle veered upwards missing it by a long shot.

"Wh-what?" She turned to him her mouth drawn open into a perfect o shape, she clearly didn't expect him to ask her that.

"Well yeah, I mean I care about you a lot." He managed to say, he wasn't used to sharing his feelings but he'd do anything for her. "These past few years being under your command, it changed my way of seeing everything, you're this proud independent woman who has survived way more than anyone I know. You fought on Akuze, prevented Saren from bringing reapers into our galaxy. Shit you even came back from being dead! Back in Omega when you recruited me again to help you, it was like seeing one of those Asari goddesses of legend, you were raising hell and I wanted to be by your side. You kicked the collector's asses and said fuck you to the illusive man. The best part of your legacy was when we fell in love Kate. You saved me from myself, helped me be a better turian and stopped me from letting revenge and anger consume me. I mean I still think it's more impressive than you curing the genophage so Wrex can have babies." He chuckled then blushed as he realized how much he had rambled, she did that to him sometimes. It was the reason why he always went to do calibrations, to take his mind off of the beautiful woman in front of him.

"So you think I'm secretly an Asari goddess?" She smirked.

"Well honestly the Asari just couldn't do you justice, you know you're more flexible than any I've met." He chuckled as her cheeks became redder than the roses he had given her on their first "date" on the SR2.

"Don't say that out loud people may hear!" Her blush intensified as she pushed the smirking turian.

"You never answered my question though dear Kate." He heard a grumble come from his stubborn captain. "What was that?"

"Yes, I'll marry you." She smiled and he pulled her in for a hug, holding her tight in his arms he nuzzled into her hair, breathing in the smell of the shampoo that she used. It was the smell that he really liked and after finding that out she stuck to using it even though it was too flowery for her taste.

"On one condition."

"What is that dear?"

"Small wedding, and our family has to be included, both ship and blood family." The turian visibly gulped, he hadn't told his father about his now fiancée, although his sister and mother knew and were very happy for him, he had exchanged many emails with his mother about their travels, keeping all the gory parts out for fear it may make her condition worse.

Welp another chapter done, although the story is coming to an end i have been thinking of a sequel for this story about them after the reapers, or i just may add them into more chapters for this fic :). Anyways till next time!
