Ok so I haven't updated this in a while. Ok a long time! Sorry. So let's get right to it ok. I don't own Super Robot Monkey Team...nope but if I did, Chiro's past would not be vague and more Father and Son moments with Antauri and Chiro.
Moment 6: Pep Talk
When Antauri first met Chiro or Chi as he affectionately calls him, Antauri didn't know how to really approach him when he was sad or just plain upset. If the young hero was ill or injured, they would send him to Gibson to get check out. If he needed laughs, it was Sprks or Otto. Blow off steam, Nova could do that with ease. Antauri would talk with the raven haired teen but not about personal things that may trigger emotions Antauri wasn't used to. If not that then they would just meditate and drink bitter tea. Something Chiro liked now after sometime. But as time went on and he and Chiro became very close, Antauri in a selfish way he thought on occasion, wanted to be the one to wipe the tears from his sapphire eyes, he wanted to hear the boy truly laugh from joy and not bitterness.
Like now...
The team had a run in with Skeleton King and his formless crownies. While the heroes won the fight, they didn't do it unscathed. Otto, was the one who was hurt the most. The others had minor bruises. Antauri saw the hurt, the child that Chiro truly was. He was a child fighting in battles that most men would cower from.
When Gibson told everyone to leave the room so that he could treat Otto, Nova, Sprks and I looked at our leader, our friend in concern. When anyone of us was hurt, Chiro took it personal...it was never and will never be his fault. Chiro smiled sadly as he told us that he would be in his room resting and that the three of us were free to do what we wish. As he left, Sprks and Nova asked what I would do with Chiro since we seemed to be the closest. I was in deep thought.
What would I do?
What could I do?
What does a father do when his child is suffering in emotional stress? How can I fight with what I can not see?
I sighed deeply as I turned to my brother and sister. I told them that I would talk to Chiro as best I could but will respect his wishes to be left alone if he so wishes. Nova nodded as did Sprks who huffed in annoyance and concern. I told them that I would update them on Chiro while Gibson would update us all on Otto.
Chiro sat in bed wearing red baggy hoodie, and socks. There was a sketchbook lying near him with random doodles in its pages. Gibson had cleared Chiro first of being ok but he just needed to rest. Chiro felt guilt run through his mind, Otto was hurt because he was protecting him! It was suppose to be Chiro not the fun loving green mechanic. Chiro was the leader, and such a leader had to make sure his comrades were safe, even if his life was sacrificed in the long run . Chiro laid down staring blankly at the ceiling thinking when he heard the door make a swish sound, opening and closing.
Chiro was well aware of who it was.
"Chiro...we need to talk."
"Tauri...I - it's my fault, I was weak and because of it, we all got hurt. Otto the most. And don't tell me otherwise! A leader must know his mistakes."
Antauri sat beside his son and leader and chuckled softly. Chiro sat up quickly and glared.
"Tauri! What's so funny?"
" While you are correct my son, you are also mistaken. Yes a good and wise leader knows when they are wrong. They understand that sometimes they make mistakes. However Chiro, a great leader owns up to their mistakes and tries to learn from them, not repeat them." Antauri smiled fondly as Chiro moved closer to his father figure hugging him. Chiro knew what Antauri was saying but damn it all it still hurt badly knowing Otto was hurt...that any of them was hurt. He just...he just didn't want to lose his family because of his mistakes. Not after almost losing Nova to her own emotions, Otto from the pain, Sprks to that evil flame, Gibson to loneliness...
And Antauri...no not Tauri.. Not after he-
" Chiro..." Antauri calmly interrupted.
"I don't want to lose you guys. What kind of leader would I be?"
"Chiro, you are a great leader. Yes you're young, yes you can get reckless...but you are just, kind, and innocent. You make us...and me proud. Otto would not want us to cry or be sad. He knew the risks. You're life is precious to us and we would die for you." At this point Antauri ran his metallic fingers gently through Chiro's raven messy locks. Chiro hummed in comfort and became glassy eyed as he looked at Antauri with as much warmth and love that he had for everyone.
"Tauri?"
"Yes Chi?"
"Thank you...for giving me a pep talk and for being a great dad for me."
Antauri hugged and kissed Chiro's forehead as he helped Chiro get comfortable.
"Thank you for being our light...our little boy...my son."
Chiro held Antauri as he laid down. He closed his blue eyes and smiled. Otto would be ok, everyone would be ok. Chiro knew he would make mistakes but as long as he learned from them and had his family by his side, the mistakes were tolerable.
Me: yay! Another one done. More to go.
Chiro: Any hints on the next one?
Me: Someone is going to resemble Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.
Chiro:...ohhhhhh.
Me: Read and Review guys.
