I had been away from Fairy Tail fanfiction to see a few interesting ones lately. It's wonderful.
Another chapter up, enjoy!
Chapter 15: Natsu's remorse
Makarov watched the salmon haired figure standing before him. The one who was standing before him was the young man Yajima and Jellal had high hope for. His name was Natsu Dragneel.
It finally dawn on Makarov of Natsu's real power. He was the only one who could master this particular magic due to his disability. Since the Kingdom Empire incident, Natsu's own magic power had been leaking out of his body and in time, he would end up as a normal human. Makarov did not think much about it. No matter how Jellal tried transfusing magic power to Natsu, his body could not accept it but now, Natsu could empty his body of his magic power creating a vessel to accept other types of magic, using the opponent's power against them. It was a wonder why Grimoire Hearts would target him using his body as a vessel for the magic of Zeref.
Makarov was brought back into the reality by Natsu's confession.
"I'm well aware I'm a sinful person. My hands are covered with blood. I won't ask for your forgiveness. I caused everyone so much trouble as I can't live up to your expectation."
"Natsu…" Makarov was cut off as Natsu continued talking.
"I know there are times that we should retreat but this isn't the time. I don't wish to run away anymore. Now it's time to make them pay for messing with my family. It's time to show them the power of the family! Let's fight, Grandp…" Before Natsu could finish, he had collapsed from his injuries.
"NATSU!"
It was not long after when Wendy and the three exceeds found Makarov and Natsu and Wendy was working to heal Natsu with her power.
"Are you okay, Wendy?" Lily asked in concern.
"I'm fine but I'm just wonder why my healing magic doesn't work on both of them?"
"The Master's injuries are too serious. No amount of healing magic would help. As for Tsuna, I don't know. It seems like something was interfering in the healing. It could be that his injuries earlier was not taken care of." Charles explained.
"Tsuna… Master…" Happy mumbled worriedly.
Makarov stirred having heard their conversation.
"Is that Wendy? You had found us?" Makarov said called out weakly while he struggled to open his eyes. "Leave me, take care of him."
"No way! I'm going to help you. I'll heal both of you no matter what it takes." What use could she be if she was unable to handle healing them? She was the S Class mage, the Sky Sorceress.
"The scarf… do you think you can revert it? The evil magic staining it is interfering with his healing." Makarov made a drastic decision.
"Let me try." Wendy agreed to do it. Her hands glowed with her light of healing aiming right on the scarf.
"I'm willing to take this gamble in order to save you..." Makarov murmured watching the sky sorceress as she did her job.
At this moment, almost everybody was engaged in battles against the members of Seven Kin of Purgatory. Mirajane and Lisanna were facing Azuma, Gray, Leo, Cana and Lucy took on Caprico together. Elfman and Evergreen fought Rustyrose. Erza and Juvia were facing Meredy. During their battles, they revealed their objectives in capturing Zeref. Everybody could not believe their ears.
"How can this be?" Evergreen muttered in disbelief.
"Just how many people have you sacrificed in order to obtain Zeref?" Elfman recalled the tears of the boy they encountered earlier. He came to realization that he was a victim to their evil scheme.
"We'll not let you have your way. As a man, I won't allow it! We'll save the boy!" Elfman proclaimed.
"Elfman…" Evergreen was surprised by his declaration.
"When Zeref becomes the King of this world, the ultimate world of magic is complete. Trash who can't use magic cannot exist! Isn't it wonderful? It will be a world meant for us."
"What did you say? You want Natsu…?" Lucy could not accept it.
"We'll stop you. Natsu won't be at your mercy." Gray defended his friend. Deep in his mind he hoped so too.
"Natsu, if you're the son Elie Dragneel, you can't lose. Don't let them find you before us." Gray thought trying to believe in Natsu.
Lucy clenched her fist as she recalled her times with Natsu whether they were happy or sad memories. He was so kind and naïve. Why must he go through so much pain and suffering? The pain Natsu was going through was unimaginable. Lucy was unwilling to give up. She had lost him twice. What can she do to save him from all the pain? Can they break the shackles of their destinies?
Cana, on the other hands seems to be disgusted hearing Natsu's name. She finally realized this was all about Natsu.
"Natsu, Natsu? Why is it always him? Does that mean that man know as well?" Cana was getting worked up and started attacking randomly with her card magic which had no effect on Caprico.
Meanwhile, Leo had been observing Caprico. He was deep in thought. He had some suspicion. A close friend of his came to his mind.
"Loki…"
Elfman and Evergreen was no match for Rustyrose's Arc of Embodiment.
"I'm sorry. I should not have urge you to participate in this mission." Evergreen apologized profusely as the pair were trapped on the Wall of Dingir.
"Don't say that. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have the courage to accept this mission. It's because you're here, I was able to come this far. If we're going down, we're going down with pride. I'll want to be a man you're proud of." Elfman said comforting her.
"Elfman…" Evergreen was touched by his words.
"Even though they were not born on the same day, same month and same year, they will die on the same day, same month and the same year. Now the prince and the princess would have a perfect ending!" Rustyrose finished the narration of his latest fairy tale.
"Scatter to the depth of Darkness!"
Lisanna was taken hostage by Azuma in order to fight an enraged Mirajane in her demon form. Trapping Lisanna in time ticking bomb, he got his wish. Azuma would do anything in order to battle strong opponents including Demon Mirajane. She had to defeat him in three minutes to free her sister.
Mirajane was well aware of her limitation. Her magic power was not enough to defeat Azuma and there was not enough time. She took her sister at the last moment into her arms. "It's tough to accept but I don't have enough power to defeat that guy right now." Mira confessed.
"What're you talking about Mira-nee?" Tears welled up Lisanna'e eyes. She was in denial of the fact. Her sister was supposed to be a powerful S Class mage. Why would she admit defeat?
"There'll be someone else who can defeat him. Your sister has to forfeit here. You're the a person I'll allow to die, Lisanna!" Mirajane sympathsised with Tsuna and what Natsu did to protect him back in the Tower of Heaven. She would do the same in order to protect her sister. Natsu would agree with her right?
"MIRA-NEE!" Lisanna's desperate scream was heard when the bomb exploded and Mirajane protected Lisanna from the blast.
Lisanna cradled her unconscious sister and cried in desperation. She finally had a taste of what Tsuna felt for losing his twin brother.
"Mira-nee, please. Please don't sleep anymore. Wake up, Mira-nee! MIRA-NEE!"
Azuma walked away feeling upset at the loss of a strong opponent to fight.
Natsu woke up abruptly. It was as though he had seen what had happened. His eyes widened at the sight of the white scarf around his neck. He took off running before anyone noticed.
He knew what he had to do. He would finish this. That was his mission as well as his destiny.
Leo had a past which is important to the plot involving Natsu. Stay tune.
