Chapter 16: The Lost Memories

Ultear continued her search for Natsu. During her stroll, she had a lot in her mind. She was reminiscing of her past.

"The path to Zeref was too far for me. But today, my dream is going to come true. Jellal was gone and I'll be able to see him again once I have my hands on Zeref." Ultear felt nervous. She recalled a precious memory of the boy she wanted to meet again.

"My name is Ultear. What about you?"

"Me? My name is…"

Her line of thought was disrupted by an approaching footstep.

"Who?" She turned her head in wary. She was surprised to see an enraged Natsu who was in Zeref mode.

"Looking for me? Looks like we have to settle our scores today. I'll make you regret for what you and your comrades had done today." Natsu stared and approach her with his cold and unfeeling eyes.

Lucy, Cana, Gray and Leo had trouble despite outnumbering Caprico. Cana was horrified by the fact that Grimoire Hearts aimed to eliminate people who were unable to use magic.

"Natsu would not be at your mercy!" Lucy affirmed.

"He seems familiar…" Leo could not help but to think of an old friend just looking at Caprico.

"Loki…"

Just as Gray prepared to take on Caprico, Leo stopped him by grabbing his wrist suddenly to Gray's surprise.

"Wait! Leave him to me! If he claimed to be one of the the members of Seven Kin of Purgatory, that means there are six more of them. I want you to find them. We can only ensure Natsu's safety if we defeat all of them." Leo advised.

Gray grew suspicious. The four of them together were unable to win against Caprico. He just did not feel right if he would leave Leo alone to fight him. Leo bit his lip. He decided to explain.

"That's because of his magic. He uses an ancient type of magic called "Human subordination magic which can temporary weaken human's battle and magic power. It was also called a "ruler magic". But as a spirit, his magic does not work on me." Leo transformed into his spirit form shocking everyone especially Lucy of his appearance.

"Leo?" Lucy could not comprehend what was going on? Her good friend was a Celestial spirit.

"That's right. I'm not the same Leo you know. I'm the leader of the 12 Golden Zodiac Keys, Celestial Spirit Leo. I'm contracted to Celestial Spirit Mage Leo. Please don't say anything. I'll take care of him. You have probably realized, he is a Celestial Spirit, Capricorn, the Goat. I'm requesting for a one-on-one battle between Celestial Spirit, Capricorn!" Leo pointed his finger at Capricorn as a gesture to challenge him.

"I see. I thought you have forgotten that you're a Celestial Spirit, Leo." Capricorn commented.

"Everyone, please go." Leo requested.

"If you're a Spirit contracted to Leo, where is Leo now?" Lucy just needed an answer.

"Lucy is really a nice girl just as he said." Leo remarked.

"JUST HURRY AND GO!" He raised his voice all the sudden startling the rest. "I don't want to repeat my mistake again."

"But…" Lucy trailed off.

"I know it's hard but let's do what he says." Cana tried to convince Lucy who was reluctant to leave.

"We can't fight him with our magic weakened. Let's leave this to him." Gray decided and dragged Lucy along. Lucy struggled and pulled herself free from Gray.

"Leo, promise me you will come after us no matter what." Lucy requested in a firm voice. Leo nodded.

"Of course, I still have something I need to do. Just leave it to me!"

With that, Leo watched as Lucy ran off with Gray and Cana.

"No wonder, my young master is hopelessly in love with you." Leo could not help but to comment.

"Before you fulfill your contract when you find him, you'll be my partner, Leo." The Celestial Spirit Mage, Leo offered his hand to the Celestial Spirit Leo.

"Loki…" Leo was surprised by his gesture and decided to take his hand until he found his young master, he would become his partner.

Leo bent his right arm while grabbing his bicep with his left hand; his fist was directed to the sky. "Regulus, give me power!"

"It's sad to know how many you have harmed in order to obtain the power I have." Natsu confronted Ultear in fury.

Ultear was so touched that she even teared up at the sight of Natsu. His true power seemed to have awakened with his eyes turned red. Her wish was going to come true. Ultear recalled her treasured past.

"Even if the whole world despised you, I'll still do that for you. This is our promise!"

Ultear fell on her knee and knelt before Natsu.

"Your existence is everything to me, my lord." She said bowing her head.

"I don't want to see anyone hurt again. Stop your attack on the island and get out of here!" Natsu ordered angrily. Ultear was surprised by his request.

"Has Zeref really awakened? It's different from what I have imagined. No, their consciousness had not completely merged. He's still Natsu Dragion in personality." Ultear deduced.

"You've made me really angry. Please do not underestimate me!" At that moment, Ultear thought she heard a voice of another young boy overlapped with his. The image of that young boy appeared in her mind.

"Natsu… My name is Natsu Dragneel. You're too direct, Ultear."

Ultear finally realized who was standing right before her. Her face paled at the sight of Natsu.

"No, he can't be… He… He is the son of Elie Dragneel, Natsu Dragneel. Is he still alive?" Ultear could only stare at him in horror with her face full of cold sweat.
