CHAPTER 19
(A.N. A couple crossovers ahead! Kudos to those who know what they are when they finally get to those parts. And, as I stated before back at the beginning of this story, I do not own any of these series, even though I wish I did. I know if I was in charge of them, I would find some way to keep the anime's going instead of ending them. They are cartoons, not live actors, so you can't blame age for stopping the show. And with so many fans that do stories of said programs and such, they could easily find one or several authors of fanfiction to get for more ideas and such. Oh well….)
It had been a few days after they got back from the planet and were now at home resting, amongst other things. General Hammond did have a mission planned for SG-7 in a week, but as surprising as it seemed, there was news about a vampire attack, in Japan. Integra had planned on going back to England with Seras and the General coming along to help back at Hellsing and then fly back to Colorado to do the mission only to return back to England when it was over. Integra was rather surprised at the call, since there was little if any vampire incidents in Japan in many years to almost not at all since the Freak trouble. The branch office in Japan only stated that they had proof by the camera's not picking up people they watched for and didn't see on the video feeds several times in different areas of the cities. However, even with the several sightings, there was no ghouls or evidence of ghouls or freaky deaths. A couple days before Integra was to tell them to leave, a special event took place.
"Sir Integra, I need to have a serious talk with you about a certain issue." the General said as he sat down in a chair beside her outside where she was sitting with Lance and reading a book to him, under one of the patio umbrella's. Integra was in a white colored suit, as she refused to wear a dress and god forbid, bathing suit. "I'd discuss it later, but I want to address it now."
"Very well. It doesn't seem like you have bad news for me from that tone and expression." Integra said as she put the book aside.
"We are not in England and I very much respect you and what you do and who you are. In England, what I want and plan to do can't take place for very obvious reasons. Here, there is no rules like that, and I want to have a real marriage with Seras. Legally and all that." the General stated. "I don't want to make you angry or upset you, and I don't want you to be offended when I say, I plan to do this even if you disagree."
"Hmm, very bold General, but I do understand even if it seems like I may not." Integra said as she looked at him seriously. "I admit, I do not like it mostly because of what she is. Technically, in the eyes of God, the Queen and church, it is wrong. However, you are very different and despite what Seras is, she is almost quite literally the opposite of what she is. And you are part vampire now so that makes it even more so allowable, if you can call it that way. My point is, I agree that you should do it, mostly to avoid any trouble in other countries and any legal issues that may come up with it here or elsewhere. I may not know the bureaucracy of the American military and the dealings with the SGC, but bureaucracy is still the same and a pain in the ass no matter where you go. I'd rather not get drawn into any trouble with the American government with any issue dealing with you and her because you aren't married officially. Or anywhere else if it arises."
"Wow, this went better than expected." the General said.
"I'm surprised you didn't ask me back when we first arrived here General. I had expected it, mostly because I was asked about it by General Hammond and a few others. Several of the Round Table members wondered when they made a conference call here while you and she were away and brought up the issue. While they do not like the idea, they will have no choice but to recognize the official documents if you wed her in this country." Integra said. "Think of this as my help and payment for all you've done for me and the rest of Hellsing."
"I could kiss you right now." the General said as he stood and bowed instead as she smiled lightly and gave Lance over so she could go use the bathroom and then call Alucard for an update, after she accepted a kiss to her hand instead.
A local judge that the General knew in Colorado Springs agreed to come out and do the ceremony for them. He met the man some years ago after being brought in for speeding too many times and became friends with the man shortly after seeing as the man was a car lover. Even though it was thought that the General had bribed the man to get out of loosing his license, it wasn't the case. His record of having a car that had no problems along with no accidents or near accidents despite his speeding tickets that he paid in full without argument or contestation was what really got him off. Daniel and the rest of SG-1 along with SG-7, plus some of the friends of both teams along with the people already living at the mansion came to the wedding that lasted most of the day.
They both had gold and platinum rings, which the General had several of the same made in case they lost either of them. Papers that needed to be signed were and by the end of the day, both were extremely happy more than every before but to tired to do anything other than fall asleep in each others arms and considered their time on the ship at sea their honeymoon, not to mention the incident they kept to themselves with the Goa'uld, in more ways than one considering the memory of seeing the moon the way they did. Integra approved of the name they took, even though she made sure they knew that Lance and his children would continue the family blood line while they would continue their services until they were sent away or decided to leave, or whatever else happened.
On the papers, it said General Prime Hellsing and Seras Victoria Hellsing. And the reason he put Prime in there was because he like the name and had been asked what his last name was and not having one, he stated to Integra it was a name he used before in past times occasionally. Alucard laughed when he heard of Seras's new name and also groaned. It was funny because the reason the Hellsing family even existed was to exterminate vampires and now one had the family name. It was sad because it just showed how much more the Dracula line was in servitude to the Hellsing line. He was Hellsing's pet and trump card and his, daughter as it technically was in vampire terms, willingly took the name, which was practically an insult to everything vampires stood for, which was only further insulting because of how Seras's lived her life, even before the General arrived.
Integra groaned as well because she had to agree with Alucard with that reasoning and she also put in her two cents as to the fact that with everything that had happened since Seras arrived that it was apparent that both family lines could not survive without the other. When Seras heard about what they thought of it, she could only smile and say that getting killed was the best thing that happened to her in life, which brought her to where she was now.
A few days later…
"General, Seras…" Integra said as she walked into the library where the General was putting books on the shelves from the boxes and such with Seras. "A situation has came to our attention and needs our specific intervention."
"A vampire sighting or attack Sir Integra?" Seras asked as she put a box down.
"Yes to both. Our Japanese office called the other night to inform me that there has been sightings of vampires, but no signs of attacks or ghouls. They only thing they have been able to link with the small evidence, which is the lack of those they have seen with their own eyes but not on the camera's, is the missing people living on the streets that are usually seen at the different food banks and such." Integra said as she sat in the chair at the desk and spun it to face them. "I will contact General Hammond and inform him we will be leaving immediately. You should arrive in Japan in time to check the area, learn more details and then set out as night comes. I need you both to gather what you need. Your departure time is set for noon. I will be heading back home to deal with issues and paperwork before seeing about coming there myself."
"That is in two hours." the General said. "Getting ready by then and getting there won't be much of a problem, but I am sure that we'll need BG to get around and help."
"We are not going to be able to take your car General. There is no room in the plane." Integra said.
"Hmm, that being the case, with a few modifications and a couple of phone calls, I am sure she can drive herself there and hopefully be there before we land, if not at the same time." the General said as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his cell. "Go ahead and make the phone calls you need to Sir Integra. We'll try to be ready and out of here before we need to really leave."
"That will be more than sufficient." Integra said as she grabbed the phone off his desk.
"You want me to do what?" BG asked as the General was putting a small two square police lights on the top of the dash by the windshield.
(A.N. For anyone who has seen Nash Bridges and the car he drives, the police light he has on his dash in the Cuda is what I am referring too.)
"I need you to drive from here all the way to Seattle, specifically the airport there where I have set up a plane to take you to Japan where we will be waiting. The address is already in your memory." the General said as he hooked up his laptop to the USB port in the dash computer. "Here's the basic plan and course, but modify it as you need to, to get there. With your advanced scanners, radio and phone scanning abilities and internet connection, you should be able to handle anything you come across."
"And if I see a crime in progress?" BG asked.
"Inform the police and send them the file information along with video. I've already made the calls needed to ensure no law enforcement will try and stop you. There is three stops along the way you can use when you need to refuel. Everything that I can think of has been taken care of, but if there is a problem, I will have this laptop with me where it will continue to be linked to you." the General said as the info was downloaded and he got out. "I'd like to drive there myself, but a distance that long I can't stay awake and such. Plus the reason we are going…."
"Yeah, yeah. I understand. If I do get into a real jam, just have Seras drop on down and help. Unless you want to sky dive." BG said.
"Did that enough times, and some without a plane." the General said as he closed the door and had the windows tint. "We'll see you there, hopefully finding you there already."
"Tinting the windows because you loaded me with the luggage." BG said with a sarcastic tone. "Glad I have became a U-haul."
"You can take it now, or get loaded when we land." the General said.
"Fine." BG grumbled as she backed up to turn around and head down the driveway. "I better get paid extra for this."
"What does that mean? You don't get paid." the General said with a frown.
"It's a figure of speech. Point is, I better get something out of this." BG said as she drove off burning rubber for several feet.
"Man, where in the hell did I go wrong with the programming?" the General muttered as he scratched his head. "I really like her, and I don't usually call women this, but she is being really bitchy."
"Might have been my fault. I dropped the CPU unit when you had me get it to install it." Seras said as she walked up with Integra.
"Why did you drop it?" Integra asked.
"I slipped on a tool on the floor I didn't see at the time." Seras said.
"Since there was no power in the unit yet, I can't see why that would do anything." the General said. "And with that thought about jarring anything loose, not likely. Everything still works as it is supposed to and the drop would have to have been really hard. The car is designed to take heavy impacts, hard crashes and long jumps. Even a rocket impact."
"Then what do you think the cause could be?" Seras asked.
"Not a clue. I want to check her program, but last time I was looking, she had a fit, nearly fried the laptop I was using, backed off to another section of the property and locked herself up so tight I'd have to have you rip the door off to get in." the General said. "Which was very strange behavior for her."
"I doubt I would do it if you asked." Seras said.
"That's one of the reasons I didn't have you come do it." the General said. "You know, we really need to get you a car."
"But we have one already." Seras said.
"Yeah, but if I have to be somewhere, for whatever reason and you need to go somewhere too, and I have BG…" the General said.
"Hmm, I see what you mean." Seras said. "I am still thinking…"
"Well, you can see what I have here or find something you would like to have that I don't, and I'll get it for you. We can do all the upgrades and even get a A.I. into it as well, that way BG won't be alone." the General said.
"I like that idea." Seras said with a smile. "Now I just need to figure out what I would want. I'm still looking through those books…"
"I do approve of this idea. In case any trouble came up with BG, then Seras would already have her vehicle which would provide more than adequate protection if the need arose." Integra said.
"I could do that to a Rolls…" the General began.
"While I do find the idea interesting, it would be best not to. I do not drive enough and I would rarely have the time to converse with it." Integra said. "Now, get going you two. May God and her Majesty be with you, Amen."
The flight over to the coast in Seattle was no trouble, until they started across the ocean and Seras felt a tiny bit queasy and restless. The fact it was near a full moon didn't help either and not having her coffin made things a little more worse. After getting a drink or two off him and then eating a tune melt and pop with him, she felt better and normal again, but extremely tired as she still felt the effects enough it was beginning to wear on her mentally. She laid back in the chair by the window and drifted off, quite literally sleeping like the dead with him also sleeping beside her the entire flight. According to the Japanese office, their main location of vampire activity was an area outside of the Bokuto Precinct. However, Integra had them start in the Bokuto area until BG arrived and the two heard and saw all that the Japanese office had for the two to see.
They landed at the New Tokyo International Airport in the early morning and then headed over to one of the desk to find out about another plane for its arrival time, only to learn that plane had came and left, but without what was suppose to be on it.
"Where the hell are you?" the General asked into his cell phone as they sat in the terminal eating area waiting while eating.
"On a cargo ship. Because one, you didn't fill out the right information as they say, and two, because I weigh to damn much for the plane to carry me." BG grumbled over the line. "Had it been just me, they would have taken me to Japan and I'd already be there. Since there was more items and stuff that added to the weight factor, I was kicked off the list. And that was more than likely from the last minute additions of half a ton of relief aid being sent somewhere. Only because I played with their computers, was I able to even get on this ships manifest list. You could have taken my ammo away and replaced it when I got to Japan. That would have easily taken away a hundred pounds or two."
"Good god." the General grumbled as he held his head and bent over in his seat while still talking. "How long will it be till you get here?"
"Another four to five hours." BG grumbled and then more or less complained sarcastically. "At least I'm not on the top deck with the cargo containers. A couple broke loose earlier when a wave hit the ship. A few of the cars around me slid around when the cables holding them down snapped, but otherwise I'm doing just great!"
"Sorry BG. I was sure you'd be flying first class all the way here. Someone really screwed up considering the money I paid was more than enough for you to get here and be totally alone as the only cargo." the General said as he sat back up. "I'd do more if I could, but at this point, we both just have to wait."
"Be ready to start making big pay outs. Once we get to land, if these idiots go about their job as slow as a moped, I will drive myself out of this place, even if it means driving over the other vehicles in front of me. Are we clear?" BG said.
"Yeah, yeah." the General grumbled. "Let us know when you are about to arrive so we'll be there to help get you out."
"You better be." BG said before hanging up.
"She's getting to be pretty temperamental." Seras said as they got up and she put her coat like he did back on.
"I don't usually have problems with girls, but she is getting on my nerves. I swear, it is like she is a rebellious teenager or something. If this keeps up, I'll either have to reprogram her ass or get used to having migraines all the time." the General said as they got the rest of their carry on luggage and headed outside. "You okay?"
"Little tired, but otherwise just fine." Seras said as they passed the taxi's and kept walking. "Having ground under my feet got rid of the queasy feeling."
"Even after all of this time, I still find it extremely strange with this change in you." the General said as he shook his head. "I love it, but I don't understand it."
"Neither do I." Seras said as she smiled. "But I am enjoying it immensely! I hadn't had a burger in so long I almost forgot they existed! Still have to eat them nearly rare though."
An hour later, they were walking down the side of the road on the sidewalk. They had no choice but to keep waiting and walking since they didn't get a taxi, mostly because the General didn't like it when he wasn't the driver. Getting a motel room nearby, they went down and ate as he tried to educate Seras in speaking Japanese or at least understanding it. With the link they had, she more or less could understand what most people were saying, but speaking it was a lot more difficult. The fact that the General spoke to everyone but her in Japanese helped her start to learn it. While the idea of using her powers to draw out the language from someone or even the General as Alucard had told her during one lesson, that idea was dropped as it meant hurting the persons, mentally. The last thing she wanted to do was burn the General's mind, even if he could recover rather quickly.
"How is the mission going?" Integra asked awhile later as they called from the motel.
"Unfortunately, not well." the General said as he relayed what had happened with BG. "We're waiting for her to arrive so we can continue."
"General…" Integra said with a frustrated growl. "Is it really necessary to have brought her along?"
"Considering I have drove only that particular car for over three decades and more, yeah." the General said. "Sorry Sir Integra, but she is needed, not only for getting around, but also for the mission. She'll survive an attack better than any other vehicle. Besides the fact she can also fight if need be. Has our extra ammo and supplies for fighting vampires, etc."
"I do understand, but am not pleased with the situation. Let's be better prepared in the future for this, if the need arises." Integra said. "Inform me when she arrives. Oh, Lance says hi and sends his love."
"This so beyond sucks!" the General exclaimed as he sat down on a bench with her near a bus stop area. "We should be driving around with BG right now. I really want my car….."
She only chuckled lightly as he whined at the last part.
It was four hours later and the ship just made it to the docks, but BG wasn't on it. From the phone call he put through to see on the time of the arrival and such of the cargo vessel, he learned that more than a few cars were taken during a raid on the vessel to steal some of the said vehicles. While the crew of the ship said they saw one car go into the water, they didn't know which one it was but could say they knew it was black in color. The only good thing was even if BG was on the ship still, they wouldn't be able to get her anyway with all the police and detectives around the dock, so they left two hours ago.
According to the crew, from what the General got after asking a few questions before the police were able to get to the two of them and stop them, and Seras looking into their minds discreetly, this was not the first time this had happened, and the cars were drove off onto the other cargo vessel that stole them. It was safe to assume that BG drove herself off into the water when they were being robbed and being just two miles out, she should already be in the city.
Both were wearing their long armored coats, with him in a black blue suit and her in a form fitting blue suit without the jacket. One of the main reasons she wore the armored coat, other than because of the protection like he did, was also to cover her chest that a lot of people had more or less stared at back in the terminal before they got to Japan, and some even when they got here. The General was a bit hot, but managing while she was truly thankful she didn't feel it much at all, not that it would matter if it did get hotter since she couldn't sweat anyway.
"Where could she be?" Seras asked as she sat back and crossed her arms, watching some Honda patrol car go by and some small children walk across the crosswalk. "By now, we should have heard from her."
"Yeah." the General said as he rubbed his forehead, and wiped away the sweat. "If this was nighttime, we could fly around…."
"You mean I could…" Seras said as she poked herself in the chest. "And carry you at the same time. While that is romantic in some ways, it should be you carrying me."
"I lost that ability. Sorry." the General said as he leaned forward and hung his head. "If she was at the bottom of the ocean, I'd already know."
"You don't have anyone here that you can call for help?" Seras asked.
"Kinda, but not for this problem." the General said as he sat back and then sort of jumped in his seat as the cell phone rang in his pocket. "BG where are you?! Are you alright?! Why did it take you so long to call?!"
"Thanks for the concern." BG said rather calmly. "At least I know you are looking for me. I'm lost and have been for awhile."
"How in the hell are you lost?!" the General exclaimed in English in hopes that no one around them understood what he said. "Is you navigation system damaged?"
"Not damage per say. I can't read Japanese." BG stated. "And that is your fault for not giving me the programming needed."
"I would take the blame, but you can just access the internet to learn what you need BG." the General grumbled. "You had several hours to do that on the trip over."
"I lost my uplink a while after getting on that cargo vessel. Aside from the fact for some stupid reason the walls in that thing were lined with lead, they had some sort of jamming signal activated just a few minutes after I got done talking to you earlier." BG said. "No cell phone reception of any kind. Even standard CB radio wouldn't work."
"Then what were you doing before all that happened?" the General asked.
"Hacking their systems without being seen, along with what scans I could do. Those cars taken were already set up to be taken when the ship was boarded. There is at least two people on the cargo ship I was on that were part of the vehicles thefts." BG said. "This has been going on for months. Why they stole that ugly lime green moped, I can't figure out."
"Okay, forgetting all of that since it really isn't important, why aren't you accessing the internet for what you need now?" the General asked.
"I'm not completely waterproof as much as I wish. I guess you two didn't do a very good test job on the check list for that when you built me. Water and electricity don't mix well, and salt water is worse. Getting hit by a sailboat because the idiot was spending more time watching half naked girls instead of where he was going, didn't help me either. Though that might be the majority of what is causing my problems and not a fault on your construction work. While a majority of my systems still work, I have damage to some of my circuits." BG stated.
"How in the hell did you get hit by a sailboat?" the General asked as Seras's eyes widen with concern, surprise and a questioning look.
"I am a car you idiot. My speed doesn't work as well on water, especially choppy water. I saw him five minutes before he was near me and did everything I could, but he wasn't the only sail boat and stopping wasn't an option. There were so many people with boats and whatever, that I couldn't avoid everything. And being a car driving on water made most of them watch me instead of where they were going. When I got hit, it flipped me over and I ended up under the sail boat for a few seconds. Ripped his propeller blades off when they got caught near my grill in my push bar. He ended up ramming into a yacht nearby minutes later because he was a lousy navigator. Point is, I'm back on land and don't ever want to do that again. I'm still draining water out of some areas while parked in the sun three miles from where I came on the land. I can't tell what the sign says, but I know I am at some boat shop in their parking lot." BG said.
"We'll come and get you. Shouldn't be too hard to find a place like that near the water." the General said as he stood and rubbed his forehead tiredly.
Yeah, have an easy time finding a boat place near the water. Right. Seras thought, which he heard making him sigh. Like there will be only a few instead of what is sure to be a couple dozen or more.
"I'll be driving down the road by the coastline. Hopefully we'll meet each other at some point and you can fix me." BG said. "At least I have enough fuel left to keep getting around and there is no damage to my driving ability and fuel systems."
"Why would you move?" the General asked.
"Because several people are coming towards me and I'm sure it is not for admiration. I am not getting towed or put into some impound." BG said as she took off quickly and hung up.
"She is almost not worth the trouble anymore." the General said with another tired sigh as he hung his head. "And I really love that car…"
"She is getting to be a pain in the ass, yours anyway." Seras said as they started walking towards the ocean, which was a few blocks away. "She never treats me with any disrespect."
"Yeah, I've noticed. I did everything for her, with your help, but…." the General said with a frustrated sigh as he wiped away more sweat. "I really need to look at her programming later…"
"I wonder if she is jealous of me?" Seras said as the General laughed loudly and then sighed in hopes that wasn't the case.
Seras made a few phone calls once they found the boat shop that BG had been at, an hour ago. Integra was slowly getting a headache from the bad report, which even though wasn't their problem as to the cause, but still trouble they didn't need. The Hellsing office in Japan wasn't able to do much other than say they had photo's of the areas where they knew of vampire activity and such, and other reports, which they would give to the two once they arrived at the office.
Alucard laughed at her over the phone, condescending her for not using her abilities to the fullest and not having ones she should, considering how power level. Seras yelled into the phone rather loudly as she told him off and then slammed the phone back onto the wall, crushing it and cracking the wall. She apologized greatly in Japanese since that was rather easy to remember, and then the General paid for the damage. Both didn't think on it until they had left as to why the people didn't really ask or wonder why Seras was capable of doing the damage she did.
"Considering how much Alucard bad mouthed you, I'm surprised at the restraint you did keep." the General said as they walked down the street that followed the coastline, his heavy coat over his shoulder being held with one finger. "I seriously hope we won't have this much trouble with our mission. I just want to get this over with and back to England for awhile, then hopefully back home in Colorado."
"Same here. I love my country, but your place…" Seras said, only stopping as he held a finger up. "Right, our place, is much more open and friendlier. Hellsing Manor has….both positive and negative energy that make my skin crawl."
"Alucard because of the evil he really is, along with a few other hidden areas of the basement, and then the holy part of Hellsing that affects you because of what you are." the General said as she nodded and ran her hand through her hair.
"While I feel the other vampires in our house in America, I can feel that they don't have that negative energy. And while the property has a few areas were the ground is holy, I don't feel it like I do in England." Seras said.
"I used to feel that, but now…" the General said trailing off. "Where the hell could she have gone? We've already walked a mile and unless she plans on traveling around the island…."
"Maybe we could stop by Mel'thena's again. The energy in the air there is rather good." Seras said mischievously.
"Didn't you leave that feeling back on that other planet?" the General asked with a frown.
"Sort of. When we got back I was feeling okay and normal again. But, as my nickname is, I'm feeling frisky." Seras said as she grabbed his arm and leaned into him, but not hard enough to keep from walking.
"Seras, I swear, even though we know I would come back, and I am not really complaining, this feeling of that need…" the General said as they walked by some children. "To be fulfilled, is going to kill me."
"Almost can't help it lately." Seras said with a seductive tone.
"Ok, we can't stop somewhere for that right now. How about looking at that book for a car..." the General said as she groaned but agreed.
"I have narrowed down the list some." Seras said, pulling a thick book out from her coat, which no one saw thankfully.
"I'm not surprised you are looking through the book of English vehicles." the General said.
"I can at least understand them and would be much more used to driving on the proper side of the road." Seras stated and then sighed as he refused to argue about the side of road issue.
Due to a few cars that ended up chasing after her for several minutes, with the intent of harming or killing the driver to take the car for themselves, she managed to elude them on the express way when she slowed down enough the three cars got around her and then she quickly spun around a few times, hitting the vehicles so that they crashed into the concrete wall without killing the occupants nor getting any innocent drivers caught in the crash she made. As she was racing off, several police cars came from different directions to the crash. A couple cop cars tried to stop her, but she jumped them and used her microwave jammer to fry the computers in their cars before speeding off. Currently she was somewhere inside the city, parked at the end of the top of a hill with several other cars parked behind her and a few in front. With her advanced hydraulics system, her left side frame was tilted towards and touching the ground while the right side was in the air about a foot. Water was still draining out of the few areas it got into, running down the hill from the back of the car, from some areas underneath.
"I ended up getting water logged when I got to close to the ocean." BG said, with her windows still darkened as she spoke to herself as several people who either walked by or starred at the strange sight. "Short of taking parts off, this gets rid of the water just the same."
Only a few of the people understood English and voiced it to the others who didn't understand. It only took about a minute or so after she arrived and parked, then tilted, to get rid of the water and then sat herself back to normal.
"Damn salt water. Corroding my systems….." BG grumbled as she was scanning around. "Damn wireless barely functions, can't make any phone calls, lost the radio, not that I would understand it anyway. Need to make a damned list and print it out before I loss that function as well. Great job General, you put a lot of time and effort into making it possible to drive through boggy swamp water a foot or so deep and still not hamper being able to drive with all the protection to the driving systems, but everything else didn't get such work done to it. Damn, damn, damn and damn some more! Why in the hell did you skimp…."
This went through her processor as she multitasked a few other things, not realizing the time that was going by and the sun slowly heading past noon. Her sensors registered a police car nearby with some officers doing their jobs as they slowly moved from vehicle to vehicle. It wasn't until they parked beside her that she really took notice and metaphorically slapped herself for not paying more attention.
"Hey, Miyuki, this is an American car." Natsumi Tsujimoto said to her partner as she leaned out the window and spoke to her in Japanese since it was their first language.
"Hmm? Oh, wow! That's an American muscle car!" Miyuki Kobayakawa said as she leaned over for a moment to look before moving back and then getting up to sit on the door as she looked at BG from over the top of her car. "Someone has put a great deal of work into it!"
"You can seriously see something like that, even though it seems…..basic…" Natsumi said trailing off as she realized she wasn't into cars like her partner who would know.
"It radiates power. Besides, this is a muscle car as they called them, they came standard as powered up in performance and such." Miyuki stated.
"This car seems sort of familiar….." Natsumi said as she narrowed her eyes and looked at it more closely as she leaned further out.
"Natsumi, you're going to fall…." Miyuki said as she got back into the car and restarted it.
"Doesn't this car seem familiar to you at all?" Natsumi asked as her partner parked the Honda Today patrol car she not only used, but built herself, in front of BG.
"The color and name is wrong, but this is a copy of the car used in that American show. Um…what was that name….Hazzard something…" Miyuki said as she looked up and tapped her chin with her finger and stood on the other side of the car on the sidewalk. "That flag is on the roof though just like the car from the show. Though there is suppose to be something more to the name than just General that is there."
"Looks like they just got it cleaned too." Natsumi said as she checked to make sure the chalk in her stick was still there. "They parked wrong though…."
"I wonder where the owner is?" Miyuki said aloud as she glanced around.
"What for?" Natsumi asked as she stopped writing on the ground and went to write on the tire, only to look up at her partner. "Oh, I know. You want to see under the hood. And maybe something more…"
Miyuki glared at her partner as Natsumi waggled her eyebrows in a suggestive motion.
"I was just kidding! Sorry!" Natsumi said as she stood and held up one hand and smiled. "A week or so ago you were all happy after saving me and those other people with whatever that robot was. And I know you enjoyed playing with that thing because you wrote a extremely detailed report on why it was so great and why it should be put to use more permanently. But lately, you seem distracted. I'd say it was Kenny making his move…"
"Stop that Natsumi." Miyuki said with no force to it as she blushed. "And his name is not Kenny, or Ken-Ken, or Ken-chan…"
"Ah! You are thinking about him!" Natsumi exclaimed as she pointed.
"I am not!" Miyuki yelled back as she slammed her hands on the hood of the car. "What the…"
"Oh yes you are." Natsumi said as she crossed her arms and gave her partner a cheeky look and smile. "You're only angry to hide...what are you doing?"
"The car barely moves." Miyuki said as she pushed on the fender to try and see the effects of the shocks.
"So what?" Natsumi said with no interest and not getting the point.
"I'm not sure what sort of shocks this type of car uses, but there should be some give. Either they have froze up and or need to be replaced, or they are designed to do this. I really wish I could see the inside…." Miyuki said as she rubbed the hood, ignoring the red light flashing back and forth, and then looked behind the tire to see the shocks and was surprised at what she saw.
"Hey!" Natsumi said as she banged on what she was sure was the passenger window.
"Natsumi?!" Miyuki said in surprise as her partner hit the window a little harder.
"The windows are tinted like those limos. Any sort of illegal activity could be going on." Natsumi said as she put her gloved hands on the window and pushed. "Bad enough they parked wrong and haven't paid the parking meter again."
BG watched and listened with some interest, recording the conversation so she could go back and play it later when she knew the language. She ignored them hitting or touching her and further ignored the lady banging on her window. It wasn't until she felt the officer starting to pull down the window that she became agitated and surprised. It actually took a lot more effort on her part to keep the window up as she felt the gears in the door start to possibly give against the force intent on bringing down the bulletproof window. She was about to de-tint the window when the other girl stopped her.
"We don't need to break someone's car to see if they are inside Natsumi. And I can already tell that these windows aren't normal or stock." Miyuki said.
"What?" Natsumi asked as she stopped and tapped the window. "It does feel different. Stronger I'd say."
"They are bullet proof Natsumi. I'll check with the station on who it belongs to by the license plate…." Miyuki said, stopping to look at it and seeing it was a custom plate. "It should be easy to learn with it being a customized plate….."
"Miyuki?" Natsumi asked as she saw her partner stop and not get into their car but turn around and rush back to the plate.
"This car is from Colorado. That's a state in America." Miyuki said as she pointed. "The owner must have just got here! Maybe they intend to move to Japan…."
"It must be someone rich! To have a car like this brought over from America. They better have the right permits, because they have already started off wrong with us by the parking job." Natsumi said as she got her chalk stick.
"I'm going to see who owns it." Miyuki said as she went back to her car and got in.
Natsumi went to make a mark on the tire when Miyuki got out quickly.
"Natsumi, this car was in that speed chase in town earlier!" Miyuki exclaimed. "I just got the report!"
"What?" Natsumi asked, still kneeling before the tire. "This car was the one causing all that trouble?"
"Yes. It is also the same one that rushed away from that car crash where the police on the express way got that gang of car thieves and illegal racers." Miyuki said.
"Hmm. Didn't those officers say this car jumped their vehicles and then raced off?" Natsumi asked.
"Only those three officers actually saw it, but there is no video footage. Something blew out their car cam's and fried the rest of their computer systems." Miyuki said. "Witness say that this car caused the three following it to crash on purpose. The windows were tinted even then. Those shocks could keep the car from damage and would support the jump story. Though I am unsure of how that happened since they say it just jumped without assistance."
"How can this be the same car? There is no damage or even a paint scratch." Natsumi said. "And no car wash…."
Miyuki knelt down by Natsumi's side and touched a area of the car where water was dripping slightly.
"It's salt water…." Miyuki said after she sniffed it and then tasted it lightly.
"Salt water? Isn't that bad for vehicles?" Natsumi asked.
"It is bad for all machinery. I wonder how it got here." Miyuki said as she stood and went back towards the Honda. "I'm going to call this in. You finish this and then we'll wait or look around. The owner has to be around here or come back soon."
"For a car that the police are after and stands out so much, I'm surprised we came across it this easily." Natsumi said with a frown.
Natsumi turned her head back to the tire and was about to write when she noticed the tire was not straight.
"Huh? Wasn't this…." Natsumi said aloud as she scratched her head and then looked up in thought.
She looked back down finding the tire was the other direction, or at least she was sure it changed. She looked away again and then spun back and caught the tire turning.
"Ah ha! You are…" Natsumi yelled as she whipped around and pointed the chalk stick at the windshield.
The chalk flew out breaking against it and slid down to the wipers. They activated only to make a few white lines across the windshield and toss the broken chalk off. BG silently cursed as she knew what she just did was stupid. The officer was yelling at her, but she didn't care at this point and couldn't understand her anyway. Instead of coming to the passenger side of the car as she expected, BG was shocked as the lady grabbed the push bar in front of her grill and lifted her front tires off the ground.
"Natsumi?!" Miyuki yelled as she ran over to her partner.
"The driver is in the car and has been watching us the whole time. Laughing at us the whole time!" Natsumi said with a wicked smile as she looked down the hood at the windshield. "This will make sure that they can't drive away on us! And realize we mean business! Damn, this car is heavy…"
"Natsumi, this particular car is rear wheel driven….." Miyuki said fearing for her friend as she saw her legs shaking.
"Oh? Then I'll turn…" Natsumi said as she began to try and turn the car on its side as Miyuki told her to drop the car.
A sound similar to a squish noise was heard by both of them, but Natsumi felt something hit her chest. She looked down at her shirt and tie finding them covered in enough warm oil that is was reaching down to the top of her skirt. She looked back up at the windshield with a growl of anger as she let go, making the car bounce slightly as she backed up while pulling up her sleeve with every intent of punching the window out.
She never got the chance as BG, deciding this woman was a danger and she couldn't retaliate because her programming wouldn't let her, revved her engine, twisted her wheels to drive sideways to the shock and extreme surprise of both police officers plus a few on lookers, and then took off after redoing her wheels. A few corners later, she found herself back on the road with the coastline, and to her shock, the Honda Today with the two cop ladies following and getting closer.
"You've got to be kidding me. What do you have in that, a jet engine?" BG said sarcastically and aloud without thinking, as they were on her tail and she did a quick scan. "That's not standard for a police car. How in the hell did you manage to get money and parts for an engine like that anyway? Nitro?! You're suppose to be cops, not drag racers! And here I thought you were strange but honest cops!"
"Hey, you take that back! I am an honest police officer and I spent my own hard earned money to built this engine! Pull over right now!" Miyuki's voice said over the mike. She knew how to understand and speak English and wasn't surprised at hearing it being yelled at her.
BG realized in less than a second that she had yelled at those two cops, aloud. The dark haired lady got out, sitting on the door as she aimed a shotgun.
"You're crazy! I'm bulletproof, so all you'll…" BG yelled as the lady fired.
Three splats of paint hit her rear, one covering the taillight. She was utterly confused why she was just shot at by sticky paintballs.
"I'm through with you idiots." BG said as she went a lot faster, outracing the Honda within seconds and blowing through a few red lights.
"Ha! She fell for it!" Natsumi said as she put the shotgun back.
"There is something very off about that driver." Miyuki said as she slowed down and looked at the screen that blipped at her as the American car kept driving. "Nakajima, we need your help."
BG continued down the road, and felt safe for a few minutes until she noticed she was being followed by the same cop car from before, but on a road nearby, sometimes one block over. Even with her speeding up and taking a few other roads, a lot away from the two girls, she continued to be shocked when she found they were nearby or along side her on another road or as a few times had happened, suddenly right beside her. Finding a quick straight section, she burst through at a real quick speed and managed to get away, but stayed alert until a few minutes went by again and didn't see any police cars in the area.
No one else tried to stop her and she thought she was okay several minutes later until another police car stopped in the middle of the road and a couple of female officers got out, but were not the same ones from before. She was too close to jump and not hit them, plus the turbo boost system wasn't functioning as well as she would like, so she drifted into a street nearby and headed into the city. A couple blocks later, she had to do the same thing when two more cop cars appeared ahead to her surprise. Two blocks later, she saw some big police man on a motorcycle, staying in her path. A quick scan showed she could turn left or right and go those directions, but both lead to more cop cars and motorcycles that would essentially trap her. A quick rundown of her choices as she continued forward, gave her, her way out. Her only hope was the bypass she did would do the job or at least hold out to do what she needed.
Ken Nakajima saw the black car coming at him and was sure that the driver would avoid him like she did the girls and lots of other people as the driver seemed to be doing. He saw past the coming car that was a block away, his so wanted to be girlfriend and her partner coming in her custom Honda Today patrol car. He could face down many dangers and was waiting to see if this driver would avoid him or try and run him over, which he was brave and sure he could avoid. But when it came to talking to Miyuki in a hopeful relationship sense, or for any reason sometimes, all his courage totally left him and in some ways, made his title of White Hawk of Bokuto Station really bad. He pulled his weapon and fired, hitting the windshield with several splats. Instead of the car loosing control or slowing down, it turned up on its left wheels to his intense shock and surprise and drove past him.
"What?!" Ken exclaimed in surprise, in Japanese, as he spun around and fell off his bike.
Miyuki saw what happened and still didn't believe it. She skidded the car to a stop near Ken and leaned out the window.
"Nakajima!" Miyuki yelled in concern.
"Kobayakawa!" Ken said as he looked up and got to his feet. "I'm fine! Go get them before they get away."
She nodded her head and raced off down the alley way the car went as Natsumi was reporting what happened over the police radio, even though the people on the other end didn't believe it at first. In her mirror, Miyuki saw other cop cars and officers come to Ken's aid and it made her feel better that he was in good hands, leaving her to concentrate on the car ahead, which was pissing her off and making her happy as well since it was challenging her abilities a lot more than the usual idiots.
"Something big must be happening." the General said as the two saw a couple cop cars race by, sirens blazing.
"If BG was here, we could find out what it was. I hope it isn't a vampire problem." Seras said with worry as they saw a couple motorcycle officers race past as well.
"Me too." the General said with a grumble, before smacking his head. "I really should have double checked my bags. I can't believe I put the GPS locator for BG in my other bag, which is in her. I feel like such an idiot!"
A familiar engine roar made them turn around as they saw BG coming speeding out from a street behind them and keep going like hell was on her heels, or tires in this case.
"BG!" they both exclaimed.
She came to a dead stop within seconds, leaving a long burnt rubber mark on the road. They raced across the street and up the sidewalk as she turned right and pulled into a parking garage and went straight to the top, not bothering to slow down once. She blew out the cameras before entering and then parked at the back furthest from the ramp. They ran up the stairway nearby finding her far away.
"What the hell are you doing?" Seras asked as she got there first as the General was still coming while trying to catch his breath. "You should have found us hours ago even with your navigation system damaged."
"Sorry Seras, but I got wide spread system malfunctions and damage. A lot of it is communications and the rest is various. I don't want to go in saltwater ever again. The only things functioning right are my ability to drive myself and my CPU. Plus some other things, but the important ones that would have helped me find you both aren't working right as I said." BG stated as she let her hydraulics drop her to the ground.
"What did you run into?" the General asked as he wiped a finger across the windshield. "I hope this isn't…."
"It's paint." BG stated.
"You got shot by paintball guns?" Seras asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, sort of…" BG grumbled.
"Define sort of?" the General asked.
"Um…well….." BG said only to stop as she reactivated her hydraulics and backed up a few inches into the wall. "Quick get in….oh bloody hell! My doors are jammed and so is the windows!"
"What is your…" Seras began asked when they heard a vehicle come up the ramp nearby. "It's just the police BG, calm down."
"I can handle this with a few phone calls." the General said as he waved his hand.
"How in the hell do they keep finding me?" BG grumbled as she let herself drop again.
The General looked back at the patrol car coming over and then at BG.
"The police shot at you, didn't they?" the General asked as he put a foot in the metal bar by the grill.
"Yes." BG said reluctantly.
"Why would the police use paintball guns?" Seras asked confused as the car stopped a few feet away.
"Japan has very strict laws dealing with guns, real guns. Why shoot the driver where the car could loose serious control when you can blind them and more than likely make the driver just hit the brakes." the General said as he waved at the windshield. "Or at least I think that is the reason. But not the reason for the gun laws."
"Makes sense." Seras said as two girls, very angry police girls, were walking over. "But why that side?"
"Everyone drives on the left, literally." the General said as Seras realized it and felt stupid. "I'll handle this BG. Hopefully it isn't really bad…"
"Which one of you was driving?!" Natsumi asked with a growl as she lifted a clenched fist.
Seras felt it quicker through him than when he looked up quickly and spun around.
"Miyuki? Natsumi?" the General asked in surprise.
"General?!" the two girls exclaimed in surprise.
They both hugged him, more Natsumi who jumped into his arms and got spun around. They had great smiles that he also returned, plus giving Natsumi the same sort of punch to the arm she gave him, but without as much force.
"It has been a few years. You two still look as great as ever! Don't look any older either!" the General said with a big smile. "And still driving the same cute little car."
"The only small compact car you ever found a liking to." Miyuki said with a proud smile. "Did you ever get one?"
"Yeah, it's back home in my vast garage. I just never got around to tinkering with it. I got caught up with other things. Oh, Miyuki, Natsumi, as shocking as the news will be, this lovely lady here…" the General said as Seras walked over beside him and bowed as they did back. "Is Seras, my wife."
"Oh! So you finally settled down!" Natsumi said in surprise and with a smile, which changed quickly after she shook Seras's hand. "Hey, why weren't we invited? You promised!"
"He said he'd try Natsumi, not an actual promise." Miyuki said as she shook her head.
"I wanted to invite a lot of people, but because of issues I can't really get into, there really wasn't a lot of people allowed. Sorry." the General said as he saw Natsumi's crestfallen face.
"Since the wedding probably took place in America, I doubt we would have had time enough to even come. Congratulations to both of you!" Miyuki said with a smile.
"I was so looking forward to a great buffet." Natsumi said with a sad sigh.
"I'll make it up to you both. Dinner, just the four of…no, what was her name…Yoko, Yorick…." the General said thinking as Natsumi lifted her head so fast and had a smile that practically shined, Seras was surprised it didn't hurt the lady.
"Yeah, you leave her out of it, she'll kill ya General. That time you took us all out, she was ready to marry you just to travel the world for food." Miyuki said with a laugh.
"If I remember correctly, she begged." the General said. "And when I turned serious, she backed out. Really, I would have taken her to many places and then brought her back. She looks great, but I wasn't interested in that regard. Considering some of my past, it was better she didn't know me that well."
"Yoriko would kill us too if we didn't inform her." Natsumi said and then punched the air. "I can't wait to get off work! I might actually feel stuffed again!"
"You two pick the place and I'll buy it out for the night." the General said. "Haven't had Japanese food in a awhile. Miss it actually, minus the fish."
"You still never cease to amaze me General. You have so many girls that are friends, if I didn't already know, I'd swear you'd be like Pip." Seras said.
"Like Pip?" Natsumi asked. "That didn't sound like a complement General."
"You can understand her? I didn't learn about you two enough to know if you already knew English or not." the General said as they nodded but said they weren't great at it.
"Pip is a soldier that works with us." Seras said.
"Soldier?" the two asked.
"We work with some high level people back in England that answer to the Queen herself. I really can't go into it even though I would like to. Pip is a nice guy for the most part, great soldier and good worker. You can trust him to watch your back and even take a bullet for ya. Unfortunately, he is the complete opposite with me when it comes to women." the General grumbled.
"That man takes the title French pervert to levels that make my skin crawl. He hits on every woman he comes across, aside from Sir Integra and the Queen." Seras said as she rubbed her arms. "Aside from that, he'll watch your back. And ass if you're a girl. And grab it if you are not careful."
"He's not here is he?" Miyuki asked with a cringe.
"Oh no. He's in England. I'd be worried if he was here, because Natsumi would kill him." the General said. "He tends to touch if he can and you're not looking."
"I almost did kill him when he groped my ass after having to much to drink. If he had been sober though…" Seras said shaking her head.
"What sort of business would you be here on concerning the Queen of England?" Miyuki asked rather curious.
"Yeah, we get that you can't tell us the secret stuff, just like the thing from before, but give us something." Natsumi said.
"I really wish I could, but this sort of business is something I can't talk about. Doing so would mean you'd either have to quit and move to England to help us, or quit the police and work for our small branch here." the General said. "And you two really need to stay where you are because you're too good at it and you have the respect of the people. Unless things have changed…"
"No. We had a problem for a week back with some rogue cops that made the Bokuto Police look bad, but in the end, we restored our tarnished reputation." Natsumi said proudly.
"That's good to hear. What were these officers doing?" Seras asked.
"Were you also a police officer?" Miyuki asked. "I really get that impression when I look at you."
"I was with a section called D-11, in England. Unfortunately, I am the only survivor." Seras said and then continued as she knew what they were about to ask. "I can't go into it, sorry. As tragic as the event turned out, I ended up meeting him."
"You are so lucky." Miyuki said. "He was hit on by most of the girls in our station and never did anything, much to everyone's surprise."
"I'm a true gentleman at heart." the General said with a small bow. "Though Natsumi and I did date as it were a few times, it was more of a friendly outing since nothing happened. I did want to go further, but you deserve better Natsumi."
"Yeah, I know. I admit I really liked you, still do, but I want to have kids someday." Natsumi said with a shrug. "I'm guessing you don't want any then huh?"
"I do, one day. It's very complicated." Seras said with a nervous smile. "Did you?"
"Me, no. I admire his mechanic skills and driving ability, plus interest in cars to some points, but otherwise, no. He's not my type despite how handsome he is." Miyuki said as she shook her hands lightly in front of her.
"Like the hair, you've let it grow longer." the General said. "You didn't change yours from what I can see, but it still looks great. I actually can't picture you with long hair."
"I saw a high school picture of her with long hair. It's hard to tell it is even her." Miyuki said.
"I can't even remember why I had long hair like that." Natsumi said as she touched her hair.
"Any other women I need to look out for?" Seras asked.
"Oh, I forgot, Aoi had a thing for him…" Natsumi said with a small wink and nudge she did to Seras's arm.
Seras felt the revulsion that suddenly rolled over the General, so much so she grabbed his arm with both hands to keep standing.
"Hey, are you alright?" Natsumi asked as the helped Seras sit down, thinking at first it was her fault and that she had nudged the lady a bit too hard.
"Yeah, sorry about that. I just felt extremely nauseated all the sudden." Seras said, still holding the General's arm as he knelt down by her.
"Are you sure? You look kinda pale and your eyes are…." Miyuki said seeing them up close for the first time as Seras turned her head away and shook it.
"It's part of that thing we can't go into. Think albino but not as bad." the General said as he helped her back to her feet and said sorry while she put her glasses on.
"That's better. I tend to forget to wear these while I'm in the sun." Seras said. "I'm feeling better now. My eyes are sensitive to bright sunlight sometimes. Think migraine but without the migraine."
"How long have you two been married?" Natsumi asked skeptically. "I see the rings, but forgive me General if this comes out wrong, you don't seem as concerned as you should be."
"I am, but I also know what happened. It doesn't happen very often and it isn't anything fatal." the General said assuredly.
"You must be burning up under that coat." Miyuki said.
"No, I'm quite alright. The weather doesn't bother me." Seras said.
"I don't really notice it either." the General said as he tugged at his collar without realizing it. "It's only 80 anyway."
"It's actually 92." Miyuki stated.
"Oh. Anyway, I'm fine." the General said, obviously lying.
"Huh, okay." Natsumi said, figuring the man was lying for a reason, which obviously had to be stupid or out of pride, which wasn't a first for them. "How long have you been since tying the knot?"
"Technically, a month." Seras said lying. "But because of some issues, we couldn't do it in England, but have been together for well over a good year."
"Was it royalty issues or because he can't have children?" Miyuki asked.
"Neither." the General said. "More of a religious thing."
They nodded as they got the message of it being a bad topic.
"So General, how long are you going to be in Japan?" Natsumi asked with a particular tone as she nudged him friendly.
"Natsumi?! Just because he is treating us tonight doesn't mean you can ask him for more dinner dates!" Miyuki exclaimed as she was appalled at her partner's behavior.
"Don't worry about Miyuki, I'm used to her like this. We did go out a few nights alone and just talked and ate during that time." the General said. "If it wasn't for my vast wealth, I would have worried about those bills. I still don't see where you pack all that food."
"I'm just extremely healthy and have a high metabolism!" Natsumi said with a laugh. "Plus exercise almost constantly!"
"She's eaten out the cafeteria more than once during lunch, making the rest of the officers, including me, have to go elsewhere or skip lunch to eat." Miyuki said with a small glare and sigh.
"I'm a big eater." Natsumi said with a shrug and smile.
"We could do that a few times, possibly more depending on how our job here goes." Seras said. "Unfortunately, even though the General is a great conversationalist, amongst other things, I have few if any friends that are girls I can talk to. You could go to those stores they have here you like and I'll chat with these two for awhile. Or any of the other girls I am sure want to come. Gives me an excuse to find some clothes to tantalize you with. I could even help you two get some new things, our treat."
"Yahoo! I like that plan!" Natsumi said as she wrapped an arm around Seras and gave the two finger V sign as Miyuki sighed while holding her face with one hand.
"I can do that. Just try not to expose their fragile minds to too many of my exploits." the General said more as a joke than how it sounded.
"Fragile minds?! Hah! I have a boyfriend finally!" Natsumi said as she pointed her thumb at herself. "Unlike a certain somebody…"
"Must be a mountain climber or someone very active." the General said as he patted her shoulder "Good for you Natsumi!"
"How did you know?" Miyuki asked surprised
"Unless Natsumi has taken up mountain climbing, that metal clip on her belt must be important for another reason." the General said. "And I can see it isn't those cheap version to use for anything but climbing. Plus it has wear and tear on it."
"Yep." Natsumi said fingering it. "Now if only…"
"You're still…" the General said trailing off as Miyuki glared heavily at her partner and then him. "Right now, I have never felt so sorry for someone concerning love than you. Miyuki, this is beyond pathetic..."
"Come Natsumi, we have work to do." Miyuki said with a stiff tone as she grabbed Natsumi by the arm roughly and pulled her away from Seras.
"Huh? See you tonight!" Natsumi said with a wave as they got in the car and backed out quickly and then down the ramp.
"You have some interesting friends General." Seras said.
"Yeah, have had a lot. Are you seriously alright?" the General asked with concern as he turned and gently grabbed her arms.
"Yeah, I just felt that feeling run through you and it was so strong it made me feel ill. What was it that caused you to feel that?" Seras asked.
"They have a particular officer on the force, but due to some undercover mission that in the end did get the bad guys from what I understand, it warped the guys mind, badly. He really would be better off having a sex change done, even though I think that is the wrong thing to do." the General said with his head hung. "Basically, a woman trapped in a man's body, almost literally. You'll see Aoi tonight. Sad thing is, she looks a lot more like a woman than most women. I won't deny I was smitten, but when Natsumi told me who Aoi really was, I did get sick. Thankfully, Natsumi was the only one that noticed and so far, has kept that a secret."
"What was that thing with the other officer?" Seras asked.
"There is a guy on the force, motorcycle division, that loves her so bad he can't speak to her about it without making himself look bad. She loves him as well, but is basically too shy to even ask him out instead. Everyone in the station knows they love each other, even though they are too shy to make a move. And it has been going on for years…." the General said with a sigh. "The only reason I found it even more pathetic and interesting at the same time was it was a first for me. This just means the bet I made in the vastly large pool still has yet to be cashed."
"You're right, that truly is pathetic." Seras said feeling his sadness about their situation. "Obviously you tried to help him."
"And he dropped the proverbial ball apparently. You'll see him eventually. Tall guy, black hair and never seems to take off his black sunglasses. If they are sunglasses…." the General stated. "We should get going…."
They looked back at the ramp as they heard an accelerating vehicle which was the two girls coming back, siren going like it was when they first came. Both girls looking extremely pissed.
"I didn't see either of you drop anything, and I didn't take anything." the General said as they got back out of the car, looking angry.
"Why are you back?" Seras asked. "You don't seem pissed off at us, and I never took anything either. At least I hope that isn't the case…."
"We came here for that car and its driver!" Natsumi yelled as she pointed at BG. "Where is she?! Look what she did to my uniform!"
"Why am I just now noticing that…" the General muttered.
"We know the driver is a woman who used a megaphone or something similar we didn't see to yell at us." Miyuki stated as she crossed her arms and glared. "And neither of you have that same tone, nor do I suspect you could have done it. Did you see a woman run from this car?"
They shook their heads rather nervously.
"Now that I think about it, why are you two up here anyway?" Natsumi asked curiously as she glanced around and saw no one else or other cars around.
"Yeah, there is no one else here and no other cars but this one." Miyuki said. "I know you said you like this particular car, and have one, or more I think, so I can see why you'd be here admiring it."
"Um, no, not that." the General said nervously.
"Are you up here meeting….." Miyuki asked.
"No, not meeting anyone." Seras said.
"Um, no, no one got out of the car…" the General said uneasily. "We….um…."
"Don't tell me you're the driver?!" Miyuki asked in a sort of angry shock.
"Owner yes, driver usually, today no." the General said as he held up his hands and then bowed. "I apologize greatly on her behalf and will pay for the damages and trouble. And for the oil she sprayed on your uniform Natsumi."
"I was wondering what that was." Seras said. "And why I also missed it the first time."
"Her behalf?" both ladies asked in confusion as the General sighed.
"Ladies, this is BG, BG, two police officers you don't want to mess with. Miyuki is capable of rebuilding you into a big fancy toaster, and Natsumi is capable of bending your body into the shape." the General said as he looked at his car.
"You're talking to your car?" Natsumi said with a frown. "Have you finally lost it General?"
The General told BG to show herself as it were, as he also translated for BG what the officers said. Nothing happened as first and then the General looked at Seras who asked BG, in a sweet voice to show herself to the nice ladies.
The tint was taken away, showing luggage in the back seat and no one in the front seats.
"I'm damaged so I am having a bad day and you got the brunt end of it officers, sorry." BG said solemnly, but also grumpily.
"Did that car just talk?!" Natsumi exclaimed as she backed up a step.
"You built an A.I. system General. Unbelievable!" Miyuki said as she was incredibly impressed and completely forgot why they were there, and stepped forward unlike her partner.
"You always were the faster one to see things." the General said as he knocked on the hood.
"I'm not opening my hood." BG stated. "Go away. Leave me to sulk for a few hours."
"I can't tell the damage by guessing and leaving you could make the damage worse. Open your trunk as well. Seras, if you please…" the General said as he pulled at the hood.
"Sure, assuming it still functions." Seras said.
She found the protected laptop in the underside of the trunk lid, still intact and not wet, although some of their bags in the trunk were. She pulled out the right cords and attached them after BG finally opened her hood.
"Oh my god…" the General said as he waved his hand at the smell. "What the hell happened BG?"
"That looks like blood." Seras said with a cringe.
"I think something crawled up inside at some point while I was parked. I know it wasn't a dog, and I don't think it was a cat." BG said. "And I know I didn't run over anything, or hit anyone either."
Seras reached in, seeing something and pulled out a black and blue feather.
"How in the hell did a bird get caught in my engine?" BG said in amazement. "Maybe it was after a fish that got trapped. I know it fell out at some point later…"
"Let's not think on that." the General said as he finished hooked up a couple ports into some sections of the electronics in the engine.
"This is a turbine drive system!" Miyuki exclaimed in shock and leaned in closer. "I thought that was only theoretical. Wow, there is parts and equipment in here I only dreamed of seeing while others I have no idea what they do!"
"No, it's practical, though dangerous. The fuel isn't…" the General said as he started to activate the laptop. "Um, BG…about that…."
"My fuel tank isn't damaged and I have maybe a hundred miles before I run dry. I'm not going to explode if that is what you are asking." BG stated. "I would have drove off into the ocean or someplace without people if that was the case."
"What is this blinking box?" Natsumi asked as she pointed and lightly tapped it.
"And what fuel is used that is so dangerous?" Miyuki asked.
"That, is BG. The A.I. unit." Seras said. "Please don't touch it. We try to avoid touching it ourselves unless there is something wrong."
"A.I. unit?" Natsumi asked as she pulled her hand back.
"The brain and personality of the car." the General said as he, Seras and Miyuki were looking at the readout display. "Fuel is liquid hydrogen. There is another car, though a 82 Pontiac Trans-Am that is also alive like this one with the same fuel. I just have extra modifications. Damn BG, you're badly messed up."
"Ya think?" BG asked sarcastically. "Being hit by a large yacht can do that to a car…"
"I only understand part of this General, but does that mean what I think it means?" Miyuki asked as she pointed at a section on the screen.
"Um….yeah, unfortunately it does. Sorry BG, you're going to have to be towed again." the General said as he messed with the laptop. "Any further driving under your own power could make things worse to the point of total rebuild. And I don't have the parts needed in this country to do that. I'm surprised you managed to crack your crank shaft. Must have happened when that boat hit you. Even more surprised you managed to get this far."
"Great, first I get caught by the police, after getting shot by them and somehow found even though I saw no helicopters around, and now have to be towed to some repair shop. I have sunk to a new low of being demeaned. I've got one tire in the scrap yard and I never even got a chance to see my fifth year." BG grumbled.
"Natsumi, can you call for a tow truck?" Miyuki said. "We'll take BG back to the station for repairs."
"Great, the impound lot." BG grumbled. "I'm going to shut myself off for awhile and hope to wake with better news of my condition."
There was a visible difference and sound as the car sank to the frame and sounded like a low powered generator just died, after the doors were unlocked.
"This is pathetic. She acted about the same way when she got injured back in England." Seras said as she shook her head while holding it. "I swear, it is like dealing with a disgruntled teenager who never grew up."
"Or a child that didn't learn the fundamentals of life." the General said as he closed the laptop. "Miyuki, I owe you, big time."
"If you let me help fix her, I will call it even." Miyuki said. "I'd love to see how a turbine engine works on this level."
"And you still treat us all tonight, I will over look the trouble she caused us officers today." Natsumi said with a bright smile.
"Natsumi…." Miyuki said as she hung her head.
"I shot at a black car, but I think it was a Lexus. Or was it a Mercedes?" Natsumi asked herself as she looked up.
"That won't work Natsumi. We shot the car and found it. Our paint balls are still on her." Miyuki said. "And have already reported it in."
"You didn't mention us, did you?" Seras asked hoping they said no.
"No, we are saving that for a surprise." Natsumi said as Seras sighed with relief.
"How in the hell did you find BG anyway?" the General asked.
"There is a transmitter in our paint balls." Miyuki said as she picked out one from the splats on the windshield.
"Ingenious." Seras said impressed. "Why doesn't the rest of the world take after this method?"
A couple hours later, Miyuki pulled into the Bokuto Police Station with the tow truck behind her car. A few of the officers she and Natsumi worked with were outside waiting to see the two and find out more about the car and driver that caused the ruckus and trouble for that day. The tow truck pulled forward and then backed the car into the garage that Miyuki used and then she also parked the Honda patrol car in there as well. She, and Natsumi got out as the General was helping with taking BG off the tow truck as he and Seras had ridden in his car. Seras walked over with the girls as the tow truck finished up.
"Kobayakawa, Tsujimoto. Good work on stopping the car and its driver." the Chief said as they came out of the garage with Seras and saluted.
"So, you must be an officer with another section. What is your name?" the Chief asked as the other lady saluted him.
"Huh? Oh, sorry sir!" Seras said as she dropped her hand to hold them both out. "I forgot I'm not a copper anymore. I'm Seras Victoria Hellsing."
"Wow, I never expected the driver to be a young woman!" Yoriko said as Seras laughed nervously.
"I wish I was that talented in driving, but no, I wasn't the driver." Seras said as Miyuki translated for those who didn't understand English.
"Miyuki, where is the driver then?" the Chief asked as the two officers looked uneasy. "You let them get away I see…"
"That's a first!" Yoriko said in shock.
"No sir!" Natsumi exclaimed as she stood at attention and then relaxed nervously. "Um…it's hard to explain Chief."
The Chief raised an eyebrow as the tow truck drove off.
"If she isn't the driver, then…." Yoriko said before frowning. "You punched them out didn't you Natsumi."
The Chief groaned and only felt slightly better when Natsumi said she didn't punch anyone nor did she attack the driver.
"You're not going to believe it sir, but the car was, driving itself." Miyuki said seriously.
"Miyuki…" the Chief began only to stop as he saw the look on her face.
"Miyuki, that's not possible." Yoriko said as she crossed her arms. "I expected a stupid excuse like that from Natsumi."
"Hey!" Natsumi yelled. "It's the truth!"
"Natsumi Sempia, what happened to your shirt?" Saori Saga asked as she poked the shirt and felt the sticky mess. "Is this oil?"
"I was trying to flip the car on its side and it did this." Natsumi said. "My uniform is ruined, but at least the owner of the car said he'd pay for a new one."
"Kobayakawa, Tsujimoto! Are you two alright?!" Aoi asked as she rushed up worried with Ken.
"Kobayakawa!" Ken yelled in concern as he grabbed her arms. "Did you get hurt?"
"No, we are both fine." Miyuki said as she turned red as did Ken as he quickly let go. "Are you okay Nakajima?"
"Yeah, yeah!" Ken said as he bobbed his head.
"Who is the driver?" the Chief asked seriously.
"Excuse me sir, but they are being serious. The car does drive itself." Seras said. "My husband and I own the car and, um….well, I'll let him explain, seeing as you know him better."
"I can't wait till this is over." Natsumi said as her stomach growled. "Where the hell is he? I want to eat!"
"Natsumi…" Miyuki groaned as she hung her head.
"Eat?" Nakajima asked confused, mostly because of the time.
"Oh my god!" Yoriko exclaimed as she saw him leave the garage and walk over without his heavy coat on and had the first few buttons of his shirt open as well as his vest.
"General!" Aoi exclaimed in surprise.
"That must be Aoi." Seras said as she felt the General cringe but shook Aoi's hand.
"General, it is very good to see you again." the Chief said as he shook the man's hand and then Seras's with a bright smile. "You are truly the one behind this trouble we had today?"
"I deeply apologize Chief Kachou." the General said as he bowed. "To all of you for her behavior. I shall pay for the damages and any fines, in full. Just please keep out of the news who the drivers are."
"Come, let us go inside to speak. I am sure this will be a very interesting story. Aoi, please make tea." the Chief said. "Married, never thought I'd see it in my lifetime."
"Yes sir." Aoi said as she bowed and then headed in before them.
"General, it is good to see you again!" Ken said as he shook his hand and then Seras's. "And you're married too!"
"It's been awhile Ken. And yeah, Seras and I enjoy every minute of it!" the General said as he grabbed her around the arm before turning serious. "But dude, what is your problem?"
"Huh?" Ken asked confused as they climbed the stairs.
"Take it from someone who truly knows, life is short. And being police officers, even though it is more dangerous to be one in America, you and Miyuki should have already gotten hitched." the General stated.
The Chief coughed as his two officers turned red. Ken looked embarrassed and ashamed while Miyuki was blushing while glaring at him and Natsumi.
"We've been trying, more me than anyone else, but…" Natsumi said with a sigh.
"Ken's to scared to ask and Miyuki keeps denying there is anything going on." Yoriko said with a laugh.
"Take it from someone who was sure there wasn't anyone out there and waited for the right guy." Seras said. "I barely know you two, but I can see what everyone else does. Considering what he did for Sir Integra, I'm really surprised he failed with you two."
"Not you too!" Miyuki said as she clenched her fist.
"I really want to blackmail you right now, but I won't." the General said.
"Leave Sempia Miyuki alone!" Saori said as she got in front of the General and poked his chest before an explanation could be asked. "She…"
"Who are you ma'am?" the General asked before the girl could continue.
"This is Saori Saga." Natsumi said as she patted the girl on the shoulder. "She recently joined our unit. You should remember her General."
"What?!" the General exclaimed as the stopped near the Traffic Division door and then hung his head. "God, now I am really feeling my age. What did they do, download years of schooling into you and push you out the door?"
"She was in school when you met her!" Seras said, seeing his memories. "Damn, they train and kick them out early now. Then again, I was with D-11 and not even twenty. And that was last year…"
"General, you robbing the cradle, as the saying goes." Yoriko said as they went in and sat down. "We know you are at least forty, even though you look a lot younger."
Seras and the General broke down as they laughed so hard they had to hold the table to keep from falling out of their chairs. The others were extremely confused as they kept it up for a good minute and the Chief laughed for a moment before coughing as he regained control and sat down behind his desk while ignoring his officers that looked at him as well.
"Chief, what are you hiding?" Miyuki asked.
"You know from the last time he was here, I said I had known him longer than it seemed. We knew each other back when I was a rookie." the Chief said.
"You have no idea how many times I have heard that Yoriko." the General said as he wiped his eyes and Seras did so with a hanky she had, and was surprised to find it wasn't bloody. "I'm a lot older than you think Yoriko. Something more than healthy eating, exercise and such are keeping me looking so young."
Leaving out certain details about their life and what they really did, they told the Chief about the boat, what BG was and what she did to get to Japan and the conversations she had with them before they met up on that parking garage. Natsumi laughed as the General had to write a letter of apology, and then he paid the heavy fine which Aoi took down to another area of the station. They and the other police precincts were happy to get the knowledge of the car jacking incidents in better details and some of the people behind it.
"So General, what sort of business do you have here?" the Chief asked with a tone the General understood as did Seras.
"Not what you are thinking. Hopefully I won't have that trouble come up, but if it does, Seras can handle it for me, without the additional trouble." the General said.
"I don't understand, but am sure you know what you two are doing." the Chief said from behind his hands that were in front of his face. "Do you have an estimated time on how long it will be until your car is working again? I am not sure if I will get pressure from above once they hear of this, but I wouldn't be surprised if it came. Hopefully the story that your car was stolen will keep anyone from asking further questions."
"I have no idea. Hopefully I can get it done before the end of the week, but there is a lot of circuit boards and a few other items that are a bit hard to come by normally that I need to replace." the General said. "It literally takes a computer to run the car to specs."
"Any help with locations in this region would be greatly appreciated." Seras said.
"I know of one place that may be able to help." Miyuki said as she thought about the place that had the robot she used to save Natsumi and a few other passengers on a subway train that got stuck in a flooded tunnel. "I'm sure that Zapper could also get you the rest of the parts needed."
"Very well then. Officer Kobayakawa, help out where you can, but do not let it interfere with your normal duties." the Chief said as he stood as did everyone else. "I believe that is it for the night then. See you all tomorrow."
"Wait Chief, you aren't going to join us?" Natsumi asked. "He's treating us all to dinner."
"Sorry, perhaps another time." the Chief said with a smile and then wave as he walked out.
"All right then, let's go eat!" Natsumi yelled as she held up a fist.
"As long as they don't serve only fish." the General stated.
"I used to like fish, but I guess because of you, I ended up hating it now." Seras said as they followed the group of near ten people out.
"Must be why you enjoy chocolate a lot more than before too." the General said.
After what ended up being a half hour debate on where to go, they ended up at a restaurant that didn't need to have reservations, and the General bought the whole place for the evening. It did make quite a few customers that wanted in unhappy or worse, but the owner was able to calm them. It was really different for Seras to be sitting on the floor to eat and the General was a bit out of practice on it. Aside from them, Miyuki, Natsumi, Nakajima, Yoriko, Sena and Ken's father, Aoi, Shouji, and Saori were the only other people from the station that came since the other lady officers had prior plans. While everyone else had left their coats at the entrance, Seras kept her heavy coat on while the General just kept his beside him. They all talked and exchanged stories here and there, having quite a few laughs. Natsumi was upset that basically everyone ganged up on her because she only got to have one bottle of sake. The General apologize as he stated he was paying for everything and wanted to enjoy her company with everyone else while she was not drunk. If she truly insisted on having more sake, she'd have to buy it herself or wait for another night where they could celebrate that way. Considering the basically endless food supply per say, she relented.
"General, why isn't it you don't drink alcohol?" Yoriko asked after the thing with Natsumi.
"Natsumi never told you then?" the General asked.
"You told me not to." Natsumi said. "Besides, it is embarrassing what effect it has on you."
"It would be if I was a stripper drunk. Thank god I'm not." the General said as he crossed his arms.
"He does one of two things. And I won't even say what it does to me, so don't ask. And no, I don't do the stripper thing either. He either laughs at the dumbest things…" Seras said.
"That is if I have a small amount. Say less than half a bottle of sake." the General said. "And the other thing it does is embarrassing if I am in a crowd instead of alone."
"The other is he gets up and sings. For our honeymoon, he serenaded before me and I won't deny it was so beautiful I cried." Seras said thinking back on the moment and just as quickly thought of something else as she felt blood, as it were, rushing to other parts of her body aside from her face.
"I can't carry a tune to save my life. Drunk though, I'm incredible. And I only know that because I taped myself once. Which to this day is embarrassing to watch. The truly sad thing about our honeymoon, I don't remember much that night." the General said as he hung his head. "The hangover the next morning was terrible, and it was only a bottle of wine."
"I of course remember everything." Seras said. "Take it from someone who was skeptical about even getting into a relationship. If you think you have the right person and they feel the same way, don't wait. Personally though, I am proud I waited till he came along to be my first and only."
"Wow General, you are robbing the cradle. You're at least twenty or more years older…" Yoriko said as the two laughed lightly.
"You could say that, I am older than I look." the General said.
"For the record as it were, I didn't marry him for the money." Seras said.
"How much money do you have General?" Natsumi asked. "Seriously…"
"I had more than I could truly count and then, a bad incident happened and I spent a lot more than I really intended to…." the General said trailing off. "So I had to sell a few things to make sure I more than stayed afloat. At least it was something I can basically get back at any time…"
Seras laughed as she saw in his mind that he could just repaint that which he sold, which caused an uproar in the art community with what he did sale, through someone else who the General trusted to keep quiet about where the paintings came from. When she was asked what she laughed at, she said sorry that it was personal.
"What sort of incident could make you loose so much money?" Miyuki asked.
Seras and the General looked at each other for a moment before speaking.
"We were in the middle of the attack on England." both said as they dropped their heads.
It turned dead quiet real fast and no one moved.
"You're joking?" Aoi said. "There was so many deaths and destruction. That country still hasn't recovered. Why were you there?"
"We can't go into details and I am sorry, but I will say that we were with the people fighting back against the attackers." the General said.
"We heard the people who caused all the trouble were Nazi's, but that can't be the case." Natsumi said. "They are all but gone, thankfully."
"We also heard that Rome sent some army, which seems to be the biggest rumor." Miyuki said.
"I can't comment on that, sorry." the General said his head bowing slightly.
"You said you just turned twenty, or something like that, right? How did you manage to survive all that without going into shock if you were in the battle?" Natsumi asked.
"I'm stronger than I look." Seras stated before turning sad. "I unfortunately watched my parents die at a very young age, which I refuse to go into the details of. But that night scared me worse than anything I have been in since. If the General hadn't been there with me during the fight though, I would have died."
Natsumi apologized for bring up the bad memory as did a few others, but she sincerely told them not to worry about it.
"I get the impression that you are a lot like me." Natsumi said. "Being physically stronger than I look…."
"Not everyone is as strong as you Natsumi." Shouji said. "We arm wrestled today a few times already anyway."
"Yeah, but we ended up with a draw after several minutes." Natsumi said.
"Oh no Natsumi. Sorry, but not happening. I'd arm wrestle you, but I think I would loose. I'm not as strong as I was then, since I don't work out as much as before." the General said, sort of lying.
"I wouldn't break her arm." Natsumi said as she ignored Miyuki saying stop.
"Sorry, but from what he has said of your abilities, not to mention BG said you would have flipped her over, I'd rather not try." Seras said with a small smile. "I'm better skilled at swordsmanship and shooting."
"Speaking of shooting General." Miyuki said before Natsumi could try and challenge the poor woman. "Do you have a permit for that weapon you are carrying?"
"Um…." the General began as he pulled out his wallet.
"You didn't leave them in the car?" Seras asked with a glare.
"You do remember why we are here?" the General asked as he found the permit and then dropped his head. "Damn, it expired half a year ago. And I forgot to make that call before leaving America…"
"You should have gave them to me." Seras said. "Oh, wait, I can't carry them. Why did you forget to make that call?"
"Sir Integra was riding my ass on hurrying up." General muttered.
"Let's see, them, General." Natsumi said holding out her hand.
"On the bright side, there is only police officers in here." Seras said.
"For the record, these are used for our, well, government jobs. England's government anyway. We aren't MI6, but close enough." the General muttered. "And considering what these are, no one can claim I stole them or anything like that."
The people's eyes kept getting bigger until the gun finally came out from being behind his back. The other he pulled and then set beside it in front of him on the table.
"Those are the biggest hand guns I have ever seen." Shouji said. "And I have seen Natsumi's collection. And those aren't even real."
"Are these things even real?!" Miyuki asked in surprise.
"They can't be. They are too huge to be real guns!" Yoriko said before smiling a smile the other officers were used to seeing more than they sometimes wished. "But if that is the case, then the General is lying. Weapons like that can only be used by someone with great strength and fortitude. Like Tsujimoto."
"They are too heavy and real looking to be fake. And something like these wouldn't be something the General would carry around if they were fake." Shouji said as he looked at one. "What would you have something this big for? Even if it was game hunting, it would be over kill."
"I don't hunt animals, I assure you of that. I gave that up a long time ago." the General said. "And even then, it was because I needed to for survival."
Natsumi picked one up and almost swore she was lifting one of her dumbbells, but one of the smaller ones. Miyuki couldn't pick it up without both hands and gave up.
"Heavy Arms?" Natsumi asked as she read one side.
"My personal design. Along with one other person helping, I created them myself. And I mean everything down to the spring inside. All custom made." the General said proudly. "The name is not only for the power, but also because they weigh a lot. I got the permit in England and due to some paperwork problems I ended up not getting back into fixing, the permit ran out as I forgot about it."
"Are these silver bullets?" Natsumi asked and was surprised when he picked both guns up and then removed the clips before putting them back on the table.
"Something like that." the General said putting the clips in his coat. "Once I get the permit straighten out, I'll need those back."
"Does that say Hellsing on it?" Yoriko said as she looked closely.
"It is his last name and hers, why?" Miyuki asked, not realizing the implication.
"Hellsing is a particular name." Yoriko said as she noticed the two tense up. "There are rumors about the attack on England that has the Hellsing name come up many times. Supposedly, the story says that Abraham Van Hellsing was a real person who worked for the Queen of England and had family that lives on to this day, still fighting creatures of the night."
"Yoriko, that is a story only." Miyuki said with a laugh.
"Yeah, done in many books and movies, some of which are bad. And I mean as to acting bad." Natsumi said.
"Yes." Shouji said, but didn't seem to really agree with her, but not as to what she meant as he looked at the General and Seras.
"I used to think some of the movies I watched were scary, but now I laugh at them." Saori said.
"I've watched a few myself when I was younger and had the same experience." Ken said.
"They still seem scary to me." Aoi said, not to anyone's surprise. "The more horrifying ones."
Seras did everything she could not to laugh and Natsumi saw it.
"Are you laughing?" Natsumi asked.
"I'm sorry, but with my experiences, I can't help but want to laugh." Seras said as she finally calmed herself. "It was a rather bloody and gruesome fight in that small war."
"You two were fighting vampires in England." Yoriko stated as she looked at them with a stare that dared them to lie.
They both hung their heads after a moment and nodded as they said yes. The others looked at them and then her, before all bursting out laughing as did the General and Seras after a moment.
"That's the craziest thing you have ever said." Natsumi said between laughs. "Vampires are a myth, nothing more Yoriko."
"Yeah." Miyuki said as she wiped her eyes. "Thanks for the laugh though."
"I think it is true and that they said that to make you all think otherwise." Yoriko said as she sat down and crossed her arms. "Why else would those guys have silver bullets? And your wife has avoided all the dishes with garlic as well."
"Only three have garlic Yoriko." Miyuki said. "And she already said she never has liked it. If Seras was a vampire, which is entirely impossible, how could she be eating when they drink blood."
"Yeah, the General has ate some of the garlic filled foods." Natsumi said. "And when we met them, they were on top of a parking garage in broad daylight."
Seras had started feeling really scared about trouble happening, but when everyone started bring out the stuff about vampires and weaknesses, her fear went away, that she also felt the General have. The garlic issue only bothered her because the General did eat some of it because it was to protect him and her, even though it made her uncomfortable. She knew they'd have to wait till at least tomorrow for him to have gotten it out of his system enough she could get a drink again. Thankfully, she had gotten a lot of him lately before they arrived and some in the car ride to the station. At least Yoriko didn't bring up the mirror issue and nothing reflective seemed to be around. And with them using chopsticks to eat, she had nothing to worry about with silverware.
"Since we know you very well General, unless anyone else objects, it would be easier for him to take his guns back and in the morning, go deal with the permit issue first away. If they refuse, you bring them back to the station where we will keep them until you leave Japan." Miyuki said.
"The whole diplomatic issue will probably come into play though." Natsumi said.
No one, other than Yoriko, who they knew wanted one or both for ulterior means, agreed. As long as he didn't have them loaded either was another stipulation, so he put them back in their holsters, minus the clips.
"Do you have any weapons as well?" Miyuki asked.
"I left my few in the car." Seras said. "I got my permits, somewhere. My pistol is the police issue I got back in England. My other is, um…hopefully not needed. Our swords don't need one, do they?"
"Unless the laws have changed, even though I haven't looked in some time, no." the General said. "But we can't carry them in public anywhere really…."
"Do you still use that katana General?" Shouji asked.
"No, I had something else that unfortunately got broke…" the General said.
"Shattered actually." Seras said without thinking first. "Sorry…"
"I tried to block something I shouldn't have and while I survived, the sword didn't." the General said covering her mistake, which was no big deal. "And ended up making a new one that is quite literally unique like my guns."
"Why do you carry around a sword anyway?" Saori asked. "I'd understand if you collect them…"
"Tournament fights, sometimes just showing off as it were to some people. Training others interested." the General said. "I trained Seras because it helped us get closer, amongst other things."
"It is actually a lot of fun…" Seras began when the General tensed up suddenly and she felt certain feelings radiate through the link.
"Oh no! Not now! And I can only think of one person…" the General thought.
"Just say you need to go to the bathroom, and keep from bleeding until then." Seras thought back to him quickly.
"Excuse me." the General said getting up rather quickly and heading off, holding his hand over his nose.
"Must be something he ate." Natsumi said as she went back to eating, as the others saw him cover his mouth, or so it appeared.
"Maybe the garlic…" Yoriko began.
"Not this again…" Miyuki started with a sigh.
"Inspector Kinoshita? Why are you here?" Natsumi asked as she saw her walking over to them, a short katana on her hip.
"Not that you can't join us Sempei." Saori said seeing the intense look on her face that was directed at all of them.
"Yeah, the General is treating us, you can join…" Miyuki began.
"Where is that infuriating bastard?!" Kauruko Kinoshita just about growled. "I know he is here!"
"Kobayakawa just said that." Ken said a bit confused as the woman looked around, still in her uniform.
"Are you here because of the car incident earlier Inspector?" Shouji asked. "It has already been dealt with."
"Where is he?" Kauruko demanded.
"Why is she intent on finding him?" Seras asked Natsumi quietly, even though she knew.
"Either to challenge him again, but to what, we haven't figured out, other than it involves using swords. Or the other reason which I don't understand…" Natsumi said quietly behind her hand as a couple of the other officers said he went to the bathroom.
"And that is?" Seras asked quietly.
"To sleep with him apparently." Natsumi said behind her hand.
"What?!" Seras exclaimed loud enough it got everyone's attention.
"Yeah, I don't get it either." Natsumi said after a moment. "It's really out of character. And no one is brave enough to ask why, though we think it is a non-humors rumor…"
"Who is this person officer Tsujimoto?" Kauruko asked as she walked over and stood behind Natsumi, who was sitting across from Seras, startling Natsumi.
"Um, hi Sempei. This is Seras, a former police officer in England. She is….um, the General's wife." Natsumi said nervously as the lady glared at the group and unknown woman.
The officers were rather surprised at the stern glare that she gave Seras, who stared back with a look that made Natsumi cringe.
"Why are you after my husband?" Seras asked rather calmly and pointedly.
She knew the answer and knew the General was nearby watching carefully while also listening, but didn't understand his fear, but knew it wasn't fear of death and instead something else she couldn't feel.
"It's personal business you wouldn't understand." Kauruko stated as she crossed her arms. "I'll just wait till he comes back."
"If you are after what I think you are, considering he told me everything about him including a lot of his past, then I can assure you, you won't be getting it." Seras stated firmly.
"Stay out of affairs.…" Kauruko began.
"Affairs?! From what I understand, you either want to fuck him or take his head." Seras growled as she stood up and ignored the looks the others had, either about the situation or her foul language, or both. Seras was reading the woman's mind enough to know she wanted the General for the reasons stated and it made her even more angry. "I suggest you leave and not bother to return or look for us the entire time we are in Japan. A fellow police officer or not, I will not hesitate to harm you to protect him."
"Are you threatening me, little girl?" Kauruko asked with a teasing sort of voice, as both ignored the others getting up. "You have no idea who I am and what I can do."
Miyuki and Natsumi weren't sure what to do, while Ken was ready to jump and protect Kobayakawa if need be. Shouji was watching intently at the two women and seemed ready to jump in the moment they tried something, apparently with Natsumi helping hold them apart. Saori was terrified as was everyone else on some level, since they didn't know it was Seras that was causing the evil premonition aura they all felt. Aoi was holding onto Saori's shoulders, waiting to pull her aside if things got out of hand while Yoriko didn't seem to be effected at all since she was writing everything down with extreme interest.
Seras almost took the bait, especially with the little comment, as she felt around inside the woman's head and found she had been around for about 100 years or so. Various things stood out while others weren't important, so she backed out quickly when she got what she needed. She instead baited the woman before her with a calm attitude as if she didn't care anymore. Seras was more embarrassed in some ways at the thought of what she was about to do, but went along with it anyway.
"Actually, you have no idea who you are dealing with. And little huh? I may be short, but the General doesn't care about that. He didn't court me and then marry me either for what you may think in a moment, and no, I didn't marry him for his money. Point is lady, he's mine and I will kill to protect him. But if you want to speak about, little things…" Seras said as she tossed her coat aside.
All the girls were rather shocked, and Ken's nose began to bleed at the sight, though it went away quickly as he turned away before Miyuki could see and cleaned his face. Aoi, though being a woman in his mind, couldn't help his male side be affected by her size and beauty now that she was standing there without the coat that was covering her enough you couldn't see how the suit fitted her body. Yoriko's glasses almost fell off her face and she dropped what she had in her hands.
"So, he's into that sort of thing…" Kauruko said with a twitching eyebrow as she saw Seras's bust that rivaled her own greatly.
"No, he's not. And no, they are completely real. Just like my mothers was. It was my face and hair that caught his attention, not my bust size." Seras growled as she crossed her arms over her chest instead of under. "The point is, he's mine. So leave us peacefully before I decide to toss you out through the glass front door, literally."
Seras more felt it than saw the move, that the others noticed, as Kauruko started raising her right hand.
"Please, you are going to try and slap me or something? I've trained with the General, a lot. Plus know other defensive moves you can't begin to image." Seras said with a hint of malice in her smile as she let one of her fangs show, just for the lady since everyone else was on the other side and couldn't see it. "I hope you hit me, so the other officers here can attest to me defending myself. And, for the record, I didn't start this, but I sure as hell will end it if need be. And if you want to fight with swords, I can guarantee I would defeat you with little trouble."
She thought better of it after a moment, straighten herself up more or less, said goodnight to the others after briefly apologizing, to them instead of Seras, and walked out. Seras let out a sigh of relief and then sat back down after getting her coat.
"I was sure a brawl was going to break out." Miyuki said. "What was that about anyway?"
"That was beyond intense. Whatever that was, I was afraid and couldn't figure out why." Natsumi said. "I was ready to jump between you two, but for some unknown reason, couldn't make myself speak or move…."
"Same here." Saori said as Aoi nodded.
"I did lay that on a little to thick, sorry." Seras said as she bowed lightly. "I was trying to intimidate her while hoping to avoid a fight. After what we dealt with in England, she was nothing scary."
"It's not your fault, not really." Natsumi said as they sat back down. "She ended up joining me and the General one night during a actual date we were having, pretty much ruining it. Not that anything was going to happen other than the normal stuff, even though dancing with him again would have been really nice. She challenged him to something she didn't say, the General was nervous about it even though he flat out refused."
"You know what that challenge is, don't you?" Shouji asked.
"Yes…" Seras said after a moment. "But not the full story of why…."
"Is she finally gone?" the General asked as he walked back over and glanced around nervously.
"Yeah, Seras told her off. Which is really strange because she barely backs down to anyone." Natsumi said.
"Her behavior is really strange as well." Miyuki said. "I've never seen her like that."
"What is this challenge anyway?" Shouji asked.
"It basically involves the swords and a revenge/bet sort of thing I can't go into. Basically a bet went wrong." the General said, having seen the entire thing, knew they weren't going to be satisfied with him evading too much. "I would accept the challenge, but she has no chance in hell. I could take her with one hand behind my back and blindfolded. Probably not even need my sword really."
"When did the Inspector learn to use a sword?" Ken wondered. "And why did she have it with her this time?"
"Probably at or around the same time she was in the Color Guard." Yoriko said as she put her pad away.
"Well, tonight was fun and interesting, but I think I have had enough for one night. We'll have to do this again, but without her interfering." the General said.
"Or have her here as long as she doesn't cause any trouble." Seras said.
"Are you afraid of her trying something?" Aoi asked before realizing how stupid the question was as she got looks. "Forget I asked that."
"Does she really want to sleep with you?" Natsumi asked.
"Sadly, yes." the General said with a sigh after a moment. "I didn't even court her or anything, but she once had a very vested interest in me years ago, to the point of stalking. It was part of the bet. I can't have children, so it further made her want me, not the first girl that has done this either. I didn't file any suits or such against her Yoriko, so you can quit writing down notes to look up information."
"No fair!" Yoriko whined as she dropped her head.
"Why does she want to challenge you with a sword though?" Miyuki asked.
"That, I am sorry to say I can't go into. I know, I know, that is a lame excuse, but seriously, certain secrets of government issues I can't talk about are heavily involved in the story enough I can't say." the General said. "Thanks for standing up for me there Seras. Sorry to have put you in that position too."
"With all the women you are friends with and such, I am surprised this didn't happen sooner." Seras said with a shrug. "Really, it felt good to do that. I wasn't jealous of her advances, but making her feel that way about me being with you was exhilarating."
They packed up and got ready to leave as several taxis came to take them all home, aside from two people who would walk. Yoriko walked over to Seras and spoke quietly as she asked a question that didn't really surprise the General.
"Are those real or where you just intimidating her?" Yoriko asked behind her hand.
"Yes, they are real." Seras said as she crossed her arms over her chest and looked away embarrassed.
She felt embarrassed for some reason, which she was sure was from the General who was rather aroused at the moment and had been since Seras confronted Kauruko. Both were happy to have brought their heavy coats and had them closed at the moment. Hers mostly because she didn't wear bras much anymore and at that moment, she wished she had and should start again.
They all said goodnight and headed home, while the two walked back to the station. After getting into the small garage, they slept in the car, rather uncomfortably, but were too tired to really care.
Miyuki parked her car and wasn't surprised when she left that morning that Natsumi was still in bed and would be late for work again, even though she tried to tactic of saying the General would take care of breakfast that morning for them. Going into the locker room, she changed like her fellow female officers were doing and asked around to find out if the General and Seras showed up yet. Neither had, so she told the Chief she was going to go look at the Charger in case the General wanted her help, which she was sure of. He agreed since after hearing what Kauruko did last night, he didn't want his friend on the premises if she returned, but refused to go into why.
Opening the garage and just now hearing her partner's motorcycle now pulling up, which she heard more of Natsumi complaining about being late again, words of General, breakfast and missing followed by a slamming door. Turning the lights on, she looked over and was surprised to find the two were in the car.
Seras had just finished getting her needed drink and the General was laying back in the seat still waking up somewhat. When the lights came on, both jumped in surprise. The General banged his knees and hit his head while trying to reach for his neck to wipe it off where she licked him. It wasn't to wipe away blood that wasn't there, but to keep whoever it was, which probably was Miyuki, from seeing his neck wet and make her think they might have been doing it in the car. Seras banged her head on the steering wheel, cracking it not only on the top but bottom as well as she brought her knees up and hit that part too.
"Sorry!" Miyuki yelled as they were slowly getting out of the car.
"No, it's okay. It's our fault for not putting a note on the door for you to see." the General said as he rubbed his knees.
"You both alright?" Miyuki asked as she walked over.
"I'm fine, just hit my head on the steering wheel." Seras said as she rubbed her forehead and looked away before pulling the lever to open the trunk.
"Why didn't you get a motel room nearby?" Miyuki asked.
"We were too tired to go for the one we have when we got back here. And we mostly came back here because all our luggage is here." the General said.
"Dammit!" Seras swore and she resisted the impulse to slam the trunk.
"What's wrong?!" the General asked as rushed back with Miyuki and had to plug his nose with the two girls. "Oh damn."
"We forgot to take our luggage out yesterday. Some of it was wet and all but one of my outfits needs to be cleaned. You have nothing since your suitcase was on the bottom." Seras grumbled. "And guess which one it is."
"Your uniform…." the General said after a moment as she nodded. "Figures."
"It is in the back seat. Miyuki, would it be imposing to use the women's locker room?" Seras asked.
"Please, go ahead. Forewarning, Aoi might be in there." Miyuki said.
"Sadly, he is more female that most." Seras said. "Rather freaky to way he acts too. Unless he stares or tries something, I don't really care at the moment."
"I should have something I can wear that doesn't stink of the ocean that this." the General muttered as Seras grabbed some items from the back seat and went in.
"I have a work suit around here that should fit you. Or you could use the one Ken uses sometimes. Be a bit big, but at least it is clean…" Miyuki said.
"Thanks. I'll take it and go use the men's locker room. After that, I'll see what I can do with BG." the General said.
"After hearing what happened with Kauruko last night, he would rather you not be here if she comes. Apparently, he knows something but won't say…" Miyuki said as she handed the suit to him after he tossed his coat, suit coat and vest into the back seat.
"He knows most of the reason why. One of these days, I'll tell you and Natsumi, and probably the others." the General said as he grabbed his bag of bathing stuff from the back seat followed by a small suitcase he had in the back seat he forgot about.
"When we are much older…." Miyuki said, not expecting him to say yes as he did. "What is it that really makes it dangerous to tell us? I seriously doubt it has anything to do with technology or some secret that involves something of that nature. Is it really a life and death issue?"
"Sorry Miyuki, but it truly is a matter of life and death. And even after I told you, you'd either freak out, not believe me unless I showed you proof or worst case scenario, go to your military with the information. Which would have devastating consequences." the General said with a serious face. "Not only would my life be in serious danger, but Kauruko and many others as well."
"Oh. Okay. Do you mind if I help with the repairs?" Miyuki asked.
"Sure. Seras helps, but isn't really mechanically inclined. Given time, she'll get better. I'll be in half an hour probably." the General said while giving a two fingered salute as he walked off.
Seras had no trouble or got any during or after using the woman's locker room and shower. In fact, she was treated very friendly and commented a lot on her looks, and breast unfortunately. Aoi only changed and then walked out after saying hi and some small talk. Thankfully no one was in the room at the time when she put her uniform on and was glad she remembered to remove the Hellsing patches first. Putting her coat on over it, she walked out while trying to ignore the looks from a few people seeing as it was getting hot outside.
Miyuki had the doors and hood open and was trying to make sense of most of the engine when Seras came back.
"That's your uniform?!" Miyuki exclaimed in surprise after Seras tossed her coat in the front seat.
"Um, yeah. Not my choice, trust me. But it is the only thing I have to wear at the moment. I removed the insignias for reason I can't go into if that is why you are looking for one. I thought about asking if any of the other women here had something, but…." Seras said trialing off.
"We about the same height, but I think your chest would only stand out even more in one of my shirts." Miyuki said. "And your uniform is tight enough."
"Always a pleasant sight." the General said as he came in, wearing a glimmering blue suit.
"Hey General…wow. What's with the flashy outfit?" Miyuki asked.
"Miyuki! Hey, we….whoa!" Natsumi said as she entered and saw the two. "Interesting look General, I like it! And um, I'd not go into the station or leave this garage Seras."
"I'm used to it now. Sadly I can't stop men from fantasizing, but only he gets to touch me as I tell anyone who gets close." Seras said. "Last man that decided to cop a feel ended up not being able to use his hand anymore."
"Natsumi did that to one drunk guy before, but she didn't break their hand that bad." Miyuki said.
"Yeah, I just dislocated his shoulder when I tossed him over mine and then hauled him off on the charge of sexual harassment." Natsumi said. "Chief says we have patrol in an hour."
"What?! We don't go this early." Miyuki exclaimed. "I told him I wanted to help rebuild this car!"
"Sorry Miyuki. We are taking the route of two officers who are sick at the moment, and we are the ones that know the route best." Natsumi said as she held her hands together like she was praying and smiled.
"This is not fair!" Miyuki whined as she hung her head.
"Now you know how I feel when I am late for the cafeteria and most of everything I want is gone." Natsumi said with a laugh before cringing under the harsh glare she got. "Sorry…"
"Wait, I have an idea." the General said as he held Miyuki's shoulder a moment before entering the car and reactivating BG.
"Why am I still in this state?" BG asked with a slightly garbled voice, indicating her voice modulator was damaged. "At least I am glad to see I am not in the impound."
"BG, I need to go talk to the Chief inside for a moment. Can you tell Miyuki there about your problems and answer her questions? I want her to help rebuild you so Seras will stay to be a translator." the General said.
"I can live with that." BG said.
"Great, I'll be back in a bit." the General said as he got out and told Miyuki what he said.
"Don't rush on my account." BG said rather sincerely as he walked out with Natsumi following while also hoping to get something from him at the same time as they heard him laugh.
"Are you mad at the General BG?" Seras asked.
"Duh. I'm in this position and all because of his inept work. I'd rather he not work on me right now." BG said.
"That's rather strange since he is the only one who can truly repair you fully. No offense Miyuki." Seras said.
"None taken. Sorry, but is she usually like this or is it a programming error?" Miyuki asked.
"She has some trouble with him for some reason and always has, but we don't know why. It could be programming, but only he would know what to look for or see. I can use and run a computer like the average person, but complex stuff such as writing programs is outside my knowledge." Seras said.
"Why do you hate him or whatever?" Miyuki asked as Seras translated.
"I wasn't this way in the beginning." BG said with some confusion. "Lately, I have been having trouble wanting him nearby or to have anything to do with me, other than driving. I don't know why though. I should have him check my programming, but I have something telling me to say otherwise that I shouldn't trust him."
"He wouldn't hurt you BG. Not intentionally. We built you, we don't want you to…" Seras said.
"I know, but…I can't explain it. Around women, I have no problems. Most men, I don't like. Lance is the exception. Alucard I tolerate." BG said, not really noticing Seras cringe because she couldn't really see her. "General, he…I'm programmed to listen to him and do what he says and protect him, depending on the situation, but lately, I have something that tells me to do otherwise…."
"He's going to have to look at that soon then BG." Seras said.
"Well, let's get started and hope I can do something before I have to leave…" Miyuki said with a smile.
