Ch. 15 Living

(Hm. Its been a year since I updates this story. What can I say? A lot of stuff happened and I got really close to just quitting Fanfiction and life all together. Then a few months back I decided to write a new story. It was basically my make it or break it story that decided my fate. If it wasn't that good then I'd quit but it's become the best story I've ever written. It's lifted my spirits so much that I'm going to try and continue this story as well. However, I can only post chapters on weekends with today being an except. Not only that but I'm focusing solely on my other story so this'll only get one chapter at a time most likely. Anyways, I hope you all like this new chapter. Enjoy.)

{Marceline's point of view}

I was waiting in Simon's class. Everyone was murmuring about Bonnibel and Lsp's fight. I just ignored them as I stared out the window. Simon still hasn't arrived to class. Where was our teacher? I gave a sigh of relief when our door opened. However, it wasn't our teacher, it was a substitute. She looked like she was in her late twenty's. She had long Silver hair with two black bangs. She wore glasses that were small circles. Her eyes a deep sapphire blue with purple eye shadow. Her nose was cute and small with a perfect white smile. She had probably C cup breasts wearing a black blouse that looked amazing with her hair with a long black skirt that covered her knees. On her feet were black sandals with socks on.

"Attention class, Simon had to leave for a private matter. He'll be back next week. Until then, I'll be your substitute teach. My name's Mrs. Habiki(Ha-Bee-Key)." She introduced.

"Does that mean we're actually going to learn something?" a student asked.

"Of course." Mrs. Habiki smiled.

"Ah! Simon why!?" The same student groaned.

I couldn't help but laugh at that. When I stopped, I noticed Pb sneak in and sat next to me. Mrs. Habiki started taking attendance as I looked back out the window.

I eventually asked, "You ok?"

"Yeah. Just a few scrapes and bruises." she told me.

"That's good." I replied.

"Finn's back in school." she told me.

My head quickly spun to look at her, "Really!?" I yelled.

The entire class looked at me in confusion, "Something wrong Ms..." Mrs. Habiki hesitated.

"Marceline. Marceline Abadeer." I introduced myself.

"She's a punk slacker." another student spoke.

Whoever it was, I flipped them off, "Now, now. No vulgar signs and no disrespecting fellow students. Marceline, could you please talk to me after class." Mrs. Habiki told me.

I poked at Pb, "Could Pb stay as well. She tried to disrupt my studies and got into a fight." I told her.

Pb squeaked, "What!?" she yelled.

Mrs. Habiki smiled, "Of course. I'd love to help my students with their problems." she answered.

Pb glared at me, "I think I know who I'm fighting next." Pb whispered angrily.

I just smiled, "Your welcome." I replied.

Mrs. Habiki started to teach the class after Attendance was done. I was surprised by how much she knew. Most of the substitute teacher's I've had, never knew anything about the subject they substituted. However, she blazed through the subject and answered any question without hesitation. Simon never would've done this well of a job. The class came to an end and I waited along with Pb for it to be emptied. When it was, we went to talk to Mrs. Habiki.

"Marceline, I can tell just by looking at you that your depressed. Why is that?" she asked.

"...There's a lot of things that cause that Mrs. Habiki." I told her.

"Anything you want to talk about?" Mrs. Habiki asked.

"No ma'am." I answered.

"You sure? Talking about it can help you feel better." Mrs. Habiki suggested.

"No thank you. I can deal with it." I told her.

"Alright, now. What about you Bonnibel?" Mrs. Habiki asked.

Pb was too stubborn to answer so I sighed and said, "She got into a fight with Lsp. A chick that thinks she's all that when she's nothing but an ugly cow." I told her.

Pb bit her lip, "She made fun of me and my friends. She even went so low as to make fun of my friend that... passed recently." Pb admitted.

Mrs. Habiki glanced at me, "I'm guessing that's one of the reasons your depressed too huh?" Mrs. Habiki asked.

I looked away but didn't answer, "I couldn't just stand there and allow her to talk that why about my friend. Billy... He was a good guy! He doesn't deserve to be trash talked like he was insignificant! He didn't deserve to die." Pb started crying, "I... wanted to date him but now... I'll never get the chance." Pb cried.

I hugged Pb and she cried into my shoulder, "Oh my... I'm sorry," Mrs. Habiki frowned.

I glared at her, "That's why we didn't want to talk about it. Our group is special. We actually KNOW what loss is. Every single one of us has experience a horrible problem or loss of a loved one." I told her.

Mrs. Habiki frowned and looked down, "Again, I'm sorry. I won't trouble you two on the subject." she told us.

Bonnibel stopped crying and we walked out of the room. I hate how other people think they can understand how we feel. I don't think any of them know how it feels to see their friend or loved one die right in front of them. I rubbed Bonnie's back as we walked to the roof. We didn't want to be in class right now. We looked over the edge and stared at out town. I noticed a couple buildings being constructed in the distance. This town is changing... I never noticed it before but now... I can see it. Bonnie's phone shook from a text message she quickly read.

"Uh oh..." Bonnie said.

"What is it?" I asked.

"Finn went back to the hospital." Bonnie told me.

I sighed, "Great..."

"Ready for next period?" Bonnie asked.

"Yeah." I agreed.

Bonnie went off in one direction while I went another. I didn't go to class though... Instead I walked into the empty room we had our drama club in. I... felt drawn to it for some reason. As I looked in I couldn't help but see everyone talking. Everyone had smiles on their faces as they talked with light shining in the room. One blink and it was gone. Replaced by a dark dusty empty room. There was a chair in a corner that I pulled up and placed in front of the chalkboard. Its back was towards it as I sat the wrong way on it to lay my arms on it. I laid my chin on my arms as I looked at the Chalkboards bottom right corner. On it said Classroom leaders with no name under it. I picked up a piece of chalk and wrote Finn's name on it. Why couldn't I forget about him? It won't work out... will it? I stared at his name for what seemed like hours. However, the next period bell went off and I didn't get up. However, the door opened to my surprise and revealed Clara.

"Marceline, I knew I'd find you here." she told me.

"How'd you know that?" I asked.

"This is the only place you'd go to, to be alone. Other than the roof but I checked there already." Clara explained.

"Oh... Our group is so small now..." I said suddenly.

"What do you mean?" Clara asked.

"Billy was ran over so he's dead and Simon's on a trip or something. Then there's Finn who's out sick now. So there's only you, me, Bonnibel, and Heather now." I explained sadly.

"Does that really matter?" Clara asked.

"Huh?" I replied.

"Friendships aren't about how many you have, its about who your friends are. We're all good friends aren't we?" Clara asked.

"Yeah..." I replied.

"Then be happy that you still have us. Your all the best friends I will ever have. Isn't it the same to you?" Clara asked.

I smiled at that, "Yeah. It is. Thanks Clara." I replied and hugged her.

She hugged back, "Your welcome. Come on, lets get to class." she told me.

I sighed but agreed with her. I put the chair back in the corner and went to leave the room. I looked at Finn's name one last time before leaving the room. When I entered my last period's class, I was sent to the principal's office to be scolded. I apologized for it but I didn't really mean it. I needed to be with Bonnie or alone for a bit but Clara did help lift my spirits. When we got out of school, the four of us went out to eat for dinner.

"So, where are we going to eat at?" Clara asked.

"I've heard that a new restaurant was opened recently. I thought it'd be cool to just eat there and finally relax. No moping, no anger, just us having girl time!" Bonnibel cheered.

"What about Finn?" I asked.

"We'll visit him afterwards. Plus, I'm not your mom Marceline. Pay for your own dates." Bonnibel smiled with her tongue stuck out at me.

I grabbed her tongue, pinching it between my thumb and index finger, "I'll rip your damn tongue out if your not careful Bonnie." I warned.

"Guys, please no fighting." Heather begged.

I allowed Bonnibel's tongue to go back in her mouth, "We're not arguing. Don't worry Heather," I smiled at her, "Lets just have fun ok?" I asked.

They all nodded but Bonnibel was nervous and seemed to feel her tongue, "Our... my tongue." she whined.

"Don't worry. It'll heal back good as new." I told her with a hug.

She groaned, "Your so bipolar sometimes."

I laughed, "Hey, we all have our faults. Yours, is that your a pervert that likes to see naked dudes." I mocked jokingly.

"That was one time!" she yelled in embarrassment.

I looked back at Clara and Heather to yell, "Have I ever told you about the time Bonnie here snuck into the boys locker-room?" I asked.

Bonnibel blushed bright red but hung her head down, "No, what happened?" Clara smirked.

"Please, I'm begging you. Don't say what happened." Bonnibel whined.

"Then you saw what happened." I smiled.

She looked at me in shock, "What!?" she asked.

"Its just us girls. We'll all share something embarrassing. How's that?" I asked.

Bonnibel sighed, "Ugh. Fine." she replied in a defeated tone.

"Aw. Poor Bonnie. Are you cranky?" I mocked with a pout.

Bonnibel growled angrily as we finally reached the restaurant. We looked around the restaurant and noticed it looked like any other restaurant. Lots of chairs and tables with several tvs and a bar area in the center. We didn't see anyone we knew from school. Even the waiters and Waitresses weren't from our school. In my old job, I met lots of people from our school. One of my coworkers was from the school too but he got fired. I heard that he was stealing money from the cash register when no one was around. Within minutes, we were seated in a booth with Heather next to me. Bonnie and Clare sat across from us, looking at the menu. This place seemed to revolve around club sandwiches. Basically if its a sandwich, its between two slices of toasted white bread.

"Wow. These look good." Heather drooled.

I raised a brow, "Heather... do you go out often?" I asked.

"Um... No..." Heather admitted.

"Well, we need to get you out more often. These are basic sandwiches with fries. Pretty cheap stuff but that doesn't mean it's bad. Personally, I love club burgers because its smaller so it's easier to eat." Bonnie told her.

I looked at Bonnie, "How do you know so much about club sandwiches?" I asked.

Bonnie frowned and hid her face in the menu, "I... used to party in clubs with my ex. I used to eat them a lot so I learned about them." Bonnie answered.

I decided to tell my embarrassing moment to help cheer her up, "Want to know my most embarrassing moment?" Everyone nodded, "Good. Three days in, when I moved into Finn's house, I walked in as Finn was going to take a shower." I told them.

They all started laughing, "Really?" Clara asked.

"Yeah, I got a good glimpse of his little hero butt." I added with a laugh.

"Bet you enjoyed the glimpse," Bonnie grinned.

"Yeah. I did." I grinned back.

"I once walked into the boys' bathroom by accident. I was reading a book and walked in without realizing what happened." She told us.

"What did you see?" Bonnie asked.

"Gumball and Marshall were... making out..." Heather blushed.

"...Whoa... what bathroom was this?" Bonnie asked.

"Bonnie!" I yelled.

"What?" she asked.

Clara cut in, "I walked in on my friend giving her boyfriend um... I think you know what." Clara blushed.

"Giving what?" Heather asked.

I pat Heather's head, "Oh nothing, you'll find out when your older." I grinned.

"Your turn Bonnie." Clara smiled with a giggle.

Bonnie sighed as she laid back, "I snuck into the boy's locker room and got it filled with steam. It made it hard to see so I just waited for the boys to come back and shower. A few did and I took the chance to take a few photos. Made 50 bucks that day." Bonnie grinned triumphant.

"She's not telling the full story. She got caught afterward and boy was she yelled at. I walked by the principal's office because I was skipping and holy crap was he pissed. I think Bonnie went death the rest of that day. His screams echoed down every hallway like he was on the intercom." I told them with a smile.

Bonnie flipped me off, "Know what? I'm hungry. Where's our waiter." Bonnie told me.

"She'll be back with our drinks. Just calm down Bonnibel." I told her.

Bonnibel closed her eyes as she relaxed and released a sigh, "Yeah. Anyways, how cute is Finn's butt?" Bonnibel asked.

"Very cute." I answered with a giggled.

"I'm starting to think your both perverts." Clara smiled.

Heather shook her head, "I have no idea what's going on right now." Heather said mostly to herself.

"Oh yeah, you never answered my question." Bonnibel reminded.

"Why do you care so much?" I asked.

"Marcy, they're the only gay guys in the school. Do you know how much I can make on one picture of them making out?" Bonnibel asked.

We all gave Bonnibel an aggravated look, "Bonnibel, shut up." we all told her.

We ended up talking about schoolwork as we waited and ate our food. Bonnie... there's something really wrong with you. I think your parents knocked more then a few screws loose.
