Well, for some reason I'm kind of stuck on my Yu Yu ficlets, and Ouran has been invading my head and poking at me with Mori/Haruhi goodness. Be amazed, it's a straight couple! o.o !! cough well anyway. OHSHC belongs to Bisco Hatori, and I only write for fun. On with the fic!

"Ootoro," Mori had said, and that had spelled the end of resistance from Haruhi on the matter of whether or not she would hide her gender at the physical exam. In the ensuing chaos with Dr. Yabu, the majority of the host club had completely forgotten about the promised treat. In truth, Haruhi had forgotten it as well. But one host remembered...

The day after the physical examinations, life had returned to normal around Ouran Academy. As a melodious chime rang (Ouran was far too sophisticated to use such a harsh noise as an alarm bell) the wealthy socialites glided out of the room, chattering vapidly as they went to the cafeteria for lunch. Haruhi, as was her custom, stayed at her desk with the bento box she'd brought from home. She really preferred not to eat in the cafeteria with the other students. For one thing, Hikaru and Kaoru would certainly comment on her commoner food, pester her to death about being their toy, or engage in a tug-of-war over her with Tamaki. Likely it would be all three. Indeed, Haruhi rather enjoyed eating alone in the classroom; she could spend the precious quietude studying in peace and making up for time lost doing host club activities.

Today, however, the door to the classroom opened unexpectedly. Haruhi looked up with dread, fearing the twins might have come back early in order to play with their favorite toy. To her great surprise, it was not the Hitachiins, but Morinozuka Takashi in the doorframe, with a box in hand, no less. "M... Mori-senpai!" Haruhi said, vaguely bewildered. "What are you doing here?"

The tall senior simply came over to her desk and solemnly held out the box. "Obento," he rumbled, his dark, serious eyes never leaving Haruhi's. She accepted the box, still rather confused, and unwrapped what was obviously an expensive lacquerware bento box. Inside the box sat the traditional rice, some pickled vegetables, and on one side...

"Ootoro!" Haruhi exclaimed, looking up at Mori with shock and pleasure.

"Aa," Mori said. "Promised."

Haruhi looked down at the box, then smiled up at Mori. "Thank you, Mori-senpai. Really, thank you," she said. The corners of Mori's mouth twitched upwards in the faintest ghost of a smile. He nodded, then turned to go. Haruhi blinked, stretching out a hand to catch his sleeve. "Ah, Mori-senpai... Eat with me?" she offered, still smiling. Mori's eyebrow raised slightly in surprise, but the ghost of a smile solidified, becoming more visible as he took the seat next to her.

"Aa."
