Finally awake after that fateful night and now stuck in the newly build hospital for the hideaway in Konoha, this Nara already knows the truth will need to come out ... Not only that, but an Uzumaki is still out of the game and friends await for him to awaken.

Shikadai Nara woke up in a daze to a dimly lit light in an eerie room. His eyes struggled against the light as he slowly began to realize just where he was:

The new hospital.

Struggling to sit up in the hospital bed, the twelve year old's heart began to race. He knew that this particular hospital the Hokage had agreed to build a few years back was to only be used when the village was in a state of emergency due to its hidden location, so why was he here now? Shikadai tried lifting his right arm but a stabbing pain and restriction of movement caused him to wince and grunt out in pain. He looked to his side at his broken arm that was slung up. He glared at it as he stopped trying to sit upright.

"Damn woman. Look what you did."

"Shikadai, watch your mouth."

The boy's head wiped to the familiar woman's face.

"Auntie Ino?"

Ino was busy writing something on her clipboard as she was checking things that were around the Nara. He looked up at the blonde headed woman.

"Why am I-"

Ino smiled.

"Don't worry about it Shiakdai. You guys are safe now."

With Ino mentioning 'guys' it reminded Shikadai with all that had happened. Boruto's screams began to echo in his head. He got dizzy all of a sudden and placed his hand on his head as the headache grew in intensity. Ino instantly began to check her friend's son.

"Shikadai? What's hurting?"

Shikadai breathed out slowly. He shook his head.

They didn't hear what he said. How his voice sounded. That wasn't Boruto…. So who said that to me?

He put his hand back down as his eyes became clouded over.

"Where's Baka?"

Ino stared at him wearily, but she began to chuckle.

"Aww. Look at Shikadai caring for Boruto."

The Nara sneered whilst rolling his eyes.

"I'm not THAT much of a jerk Auntie Ino."

Ino nodded slightly.

"Yeah but with a mother like yours…"

As soon as she said it, Temari came running in. She literally rammed into her son's bed and stared at the eyes that they shared. She shakily touched the side of his face and looked at his arm. If it was one look that Shikadai and his father could tell anybody that they were truly scared of it was the bloodlusting look Temari got whenever someone hurt her friends and famiy.

"Kaa-san…"

"Temari-san, don't you have to be with the others?"

Temari slowly stepped away from her child.

"Yes… but- but I had to see him- to just make sure…."

"You can trust me and Sakura-chan. We will make sure he is protected. No need to worry."

Temari shook her head and laughed bitterly.

"Shikadai Nara, when you are healed, you are in so much trouble."

She looked at Ino and stepped closer to her as if to tell her a secret. Shikadai strained his ears, but could only make up three words:

lockdown…. Protect…. And find?

Shikadai looked to the other side away from the women. Temari gently kissed his cheek. He tried to move, only once again wincing from the pain in his arm.

"Compared to Bolt, You're baby wasn't the one who got badly hurt…"

Ino looked at the woman sadly. Temari looked back at Ino.

"Do we know what happened?"

Ino shook her head.

"Now that Shikadai is up though we can get a few more answers. Temari nodded.

"Right. Before I go though… Shikadai… tell me one thing."

Shikadai bit his lip knowing what his mother was going to ask.

"Who was the person who did this?

Sarada sat next to a coma struck Boruto. She stood up and fixed the sheets like her mother told her to do and then sat back down. She looked at the young Uzumaki's face. He looked as though he was in pain and Sarada felt useless as she watched his somewhat ragged breathing. Sakura came back inside.

"Hey Sara, Shikadai woke up."

Sarada looked at the pinkette. She smirked slightly and nodded.

"That's good to hear. I'll go let the others know."

Sarada made her way to her friends. Chocho sat eating her favorite chips, Inojin was drawing in his sketchpad, Tai was shadowboxing, and Himawari was rocking back and forth on her heels. Hima was the first to spot Sarada.

"Sara-chan are they wake?"

Sarada bent down to the girl and move one of her locks behind her ear.

"You're brother isn't yet, but Shikadai is."

Himawari's eyes lit up.

"Shi shi-kun is awake!"

With that the eight year old ran off to said boy's room. Sarada stayed back with the others and blushed.

"Um… Did she just call Shikadai-kun shishi?"

Inojin tried to stifle his laugh. Chocho however freely began to crack up, and Tai's face paled.

"Sarada-chan, Hima-chan does realize that that means…"

"Let's just not tell her okay."

All four children began to laugh.

Upset that the threat has not shown itself since torturing his child and close friend's kid, the Hokage is making sure everything is staying up to par within his village... however he can't help but to feel as though something is wrong. Something is missing. Something was forgotten...

Shikamaru Nara and Sasuke Uchiha watched the Seventh Hokage pace in his office. Shizune entered the room as did Kakashi-sensei. Naruto looked up.

"Well?"

Shizune exhaled.

"Shikadai is awake now. Boruto is still in his coma."

"And the other kage have just responded to your message."

Naruto glared at the floor.

Shikamaru looked at Shizune.

"Boruto is still in his coma? It's almost been a week since that incident."

Shizune nodded.

"At least the kage have responded. The people are okay right?"

Shizune looked at the Uchiha.

"Yes they are perfectly fine. Some are getting restless from being down there; but everyone is taken care of."

Naruto, Sasuke, and Shikamaru nodded.

"I felt a strange presence enter the village yesterday. I had already had people on the frontline though. No one has gotten back to me however."

Kakashi-sensei put a hand on his old student's shoulder.

"Don't worry Hokage-sama. He won't have our way with us."

Naruto looked out at his empty village.

"I know…. But I still have a strange feeling like we forgot about something."

The Sunflower Princess is the first out of the kids to welcome the Nara boy back to reality. However, the blue light shines bright again, and the bloodshed is about to begin.

Himawari Uzumaki stared at Shikadai Nara with concern.

"I've never broken anything before, does it hurt?"

Shikadai, though he'd never admit it, liked when Hima was around him, but at the moment he was annoyed with all of her questions.

"Yes, Hima."

Shikadai grunted. He couldn't help but continue to think about what Boruto had said to him while his screams echoed.

They will get us…

Himawari continued to stare at him. She could tell something was on his mind. She also knew Shikadai wouldn't tell her. He'd make up some excuse, just like nii-san usually did, that revolved around keeping her safe. Or 'it's just better if you didn't know and stayed innocent.' So instead she asked him another question that had nothing to do with the current situation.

"Are you hungry, I can go get you something from Auntie Sakura Shi Shi-kun."

Shikadai winced from the pain in his arm and being called his pet name by the younger Uzumaki that brought him back to reality.

"I thought I told you to stop calling me that."

Hima giggled. She put her finger to her lip in thought.

"Hmm, I don't remember that Shi Shi-kun"

Shikadai sighed and shook his head.

"Whatever, where are the others?"

"Um, I am pretty sure they are coming, I just ran ahead of them because I needed to make sure my third favorite boy was okay."

Shikadai stared at the girl. He pouted slightly.

"Third?"

Hima nodded.

"Yup. Papa is first. Boruto is second, and you of course are third!"

Hima smiled brightly.

"Mmm. Alright then."

Hima's smile faded again.

"Shikadai-kun?"

Shikadai had focused on the IV system next to him. He however disliked the tone in Hima's voice.

"Yeah."

"My stomach hurts again. Like a lot."

The girl began to scratch at it. As soon as she did, it began to glow the same blue Boruto's had.

"Hima?"

"Ow."

Hima hunched over ending up halfway over Shikadai. Shikadai freaking out tried to hit the red button to have a nurse come in his room. Before he could push it he saw a figure standing in his door's hallyway. There standing in the doorway was none other than Boruto Uzumaki. And green eyes no longer saw the blue hues of his best friend, but crimson eyes that looked murderous.

The same scream echoed through the hallway and then the lights went out.

They're here...
