Who's The Boy

A/N: HEEY! Alright, so. A few things before I get started. Two, actually. One: there is a poll. About which story I should continue, you can choose up to two stories for me to bring back. So, go check that out and vote. Two: There is a new story called If I Were A Girl. It's Kames, so go check that out as well. I really hope that you guys enjoy. :)

This is going to be really short, I'm sorry. But I just wanted to post something to get you guys aware of the poll. :D

Annyways, here ya go! :D

Chapter One.

Kendall lived in California for a month before he finally got a job. It was tough before he got to job; trying to live on the money that he saved up throughout the years from birthdays and holidays. It was a little difficult to use the money that he had been saving his whole life for food and rent. When he first started to save the money, he had wanted to use it for college. As the years went on, however, he had wanted to use that money for an emergency. He had stopped wanting to go to college and had decided that he wanted to do something different with his life, like play hockey or become famous.

He never told anyone, but he liked to sing sometimes. He didn't think he was as good as some people out there, but he definitely knew that he wasn't bad.

But he wasn't sure what he wanted to do, now.

Except that now he's living in California and they don't have a hockey team. Therefore, Kendall won't be able to sign up for that; which doesn't really give him much choice in things. But he doesn't mind right now, he just wants to be able to live without having to struggle until his next paycheck.

He's been working at the little coffee shop down the street from his apartment for a few weeks when he notices a guy sitting in the back of the coffee shop, staring at him. He didn't recognize the guy but that didn't mean anything. Having lived in California for a couple months now, he got used to guys openly checking him out. At first, it was weird; having come from a place that didn't have many openly gay guys to living in a place with tons of proud, openly gay guys who checked guys out that they liked. But Kendall certainly didn't mind the guys checking him out.

Kendall continued with making the coffee that he started, and almost instantly forgot about the guy that checked him out. That is, until the guy walked up to the counter and introduced himself.

"Hello, my name is Dak." The guy smiled, reaching out to shake Kendall's hand. "I couldn't help but notice you up here."

"Uh, thanks?" He's never had any of the guys who notice him walk up to him and start a conversation with him. But here he was, talking to an attractive guy who seemed to like him back.

"What's your name?"

"Kendall."

"Well, Kendall how would you like to be in a photo shoot?"

"A photo shoot? Why would I be in a photo shoot?"

"Because you are gorgeous! Why else?" Dak exclaimed, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. "And I'm a model that is looking for the right guy to be in a shoot with me. I had a guy, but he canceled on me and now we're down a guy and can't do the shoot unless we have someone. And since you're new here and seem to be unsure of what you want, I thought this would help give you an idea. Plus, I wouldn't mind having a hot guy like you hanging around me for a photo shoot."

"How do you know I'm new here?"

"It's obvious with how you dress some days."

They continued talking. Apparently Dak comes in here almost every day and noticed Kendall weeks ago (around the time that Kendall had gotten hired). And Dak had wanted to ask Kendall before, but Kendall never seemed to notice him or seemed interested until now. Which is why Dak asked him now and not before.

And as for Dak knowing that Kendall didn't know what to do with his life, Dak had overheard a conversation the other day that Kendall had with a coworker; which was a little creepy and weird, but Kendall didn't mention that.

Dak offered his business card when he left, Kendall gladly accepting it. He wasn't sure if he wanted to do the photo shoot, but Dak had said that even if he didn't want to, they could still keep in touch and be friends; which held a suggestive tone underneath the words.

A/N: This is probably terrible. But I have an idea of where I want to take it with the photo shoot. This isn't gonna be Kendall and Dak, even though it looks like that. That's just taking it to the place that I want this going and I promise that the next chapter will be WAY longer; hopefully 3,000+ words. Go vote on the poll if you want this story to continue, though. Or Fix A Heart. Or the TW stories that I've started. And I promise that I will continue those stories. :)
