WELCOME BACK! :)

Ok, so last chapter was the return of Kevin, that weirdo Serpentine-turned-human-by-Garmadon from A Burning Passion. He dated Julia for a while, proposed (because he knew it would piss off Garmadon), and then dumped her because she was too "obnoxious" for him. But that worked out well, because Julia got to marry Kai in the end. Expect now she got herself kidnapped, and possibly killed, we still don't know yet... so maybe it didn't work out so well.

ANYWAY, Kevin is back in the ninja's lives. Let's see how this works out...

Steph's P.O.V.

It was really late. Everyone in the house was asleep, and Tyler and I were making our way down to the basement so he could help me train. Well, sometimes we just kinda sit there and talk, but bonding with a teammate counts as training, right? Even if we're not talking about anything remotely close to training? Even if I think he's cute?

Nope. I didn't say that. You. Read. NOTHING.

But who cares? I deserve this. WE deserve this. Tyler's helped me improve a lot, despite those stupid voices popping up every once in a while.

Anyway, we were passing the front door when we heard voices. No, not the ones in our heads. REAL voices. Right outside the front door. Then there was a bang against the door, then some cursing. Tyler pulled out his penknife. "What?" he whispered when I gave him a funny look. "All my other weapons are in the basement." I shrugged and peeked through the peep hole on the door, only to see some strange guy carrying an unconscious Cole, while Toby fumbled with his keys.

"This looks like an interesting story," I mumbled, opening the door for them. Toby smiled his thanks and ushered in the stranger carrying Cole.

Hold up a sec. That frail, skinny little guy is carrying COLE? Big, fat Cole? WHAT?

Toby closed the door, then, noticing how shocked I was, said, "Yea, I can't believe it either." Then he saw Tyler, still holding a knife in his hand. "Dude, chill out, he's a friend. Creepy, but a friend." He closed the knife, but didn't put it away.

"How do you know him?" I asked.

"Dad says he's... and old friend. His name is Kevin. He used to hang out with the ninja when they were younger. Like, before your parents were married, younger. Um... yea." There was something uncomfortable about the way he said that. Especially the "your parents" part. "Oh, um Kevin, you can just leave him on the couch for now. And this is Tyler, Zane's kid -" again uncomfortably, since calling Dr. Steinsberry Tyler's dad was still weird. "And this is Stephanie -"

"Oh yes, Julia's offspring," Kevin cut in, staring into my soul with his lazer eyes. His eyes were ice blue, like Tyler's, except they looked dead. I also couldn't help but notice his awkward word choice when calling me my mom's daughter.

We all stood there in an awkward silence for a moment, when Kevin finally said, "Well, it was divine meeting you children, especially you, Stephanie." I cringed horrifically. There was some kind of sick hunger in the look he was giving me. It reminded me of that look Tyler gets when he wants to murder someone... Ew. I can't believe I'm comparing this creep to Tyler. "But I must be going now." He turned to walk out the door, stumbled over his own feet, and crashed into the wall. Something looked forced about it though, as if he were trying to make a scene.

"Um, are you still drunk?" Toby asked.

"What is 'drunk'?" He asked, starting to sway. "I am fine to walk down busy roads to my home."

We all knew what the right thing to do was. The thing is, did we really want this creeper spending the night here? Finally, Toby sighed. "I'll go ask if you can stay the night."

I don't know what happened to make her so upset, but a minute or two after Toby left the room, Kruthika probably woke up the whole house screaming, "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL IS THAT DOUCHE DOING IN MY HOUSE?!" Tyler, as if on cue, reopened his penknife.

Kru stormed into the room and glared at Kevin. "Get. The HELL. OUT. OF. MY. HOUSE!"

Kevin smiled his creepy smile. "So I see you wear the pants, not Lloyd?"

"I'm not even gonna argue that," Lloyd said, appearing in the room with Amanda, Zane, and Melissa. "Just leave, and we won't have any problems.

"Who's bright idea was it to bring him in here?" Melissa asked.

Toby raised his hand awkwardly. "Dad passed out from drinking again. Kevin carried him to a cab then into the house. Dad said you guys used to be friends."

"Emphasis on 'used to'," Lloyd muttered.

"Wait a sec. How the hell did that scrawny little prick carry Cole anywhere? I thought he was weak!" Amanda asked.

"I've been through some training of my own," Kevin replied.

Suddenly, everyone's attention was turned to the hallway, where my dad was struggling to get free from Jay and Nya. "Guys, let me go! I'm fine! Damn, I won't kill him. I promise!" Hesitantly, they let go of him.

"Hey, fire shit," Kevin said. I moved towards Tyler, hoping for comfort. Dad looked like he was going to EXPLODE.

"That STILL doesn't even make sense," Dad replied.

"Oh well." He paused. Then, nodding towards me (and Joey, who had by now entered the room with the other kids), "I see you've reproduced with that awful woman you were so horribly in love with." That was all it took. Dad didn't even hesitate; he just socked Kevin square in the nose. He hit the floor like a sack of bricks. It was beautiful.

"Can I kill him now?" Tyler asked, holding up his knife. I grabbed his arm to hold him back. And although Lloyd said no, I could tell that Dad, Kruthika, and Amanda were seriously considering saying yes.

Kevin sat up, blood smeared across his face, and just sat there. Then he said, "I don't know how much longer I can keep up this charade. Send back-up. NOW."

Wait. He didn't say that out loud... That was in my head. Like one of the voices - who just happened to chime in at that very moment.

Yes! It's about time Kevin started using the telepathy!

YEA! And that just means it's time to steal the golden weapons!

They'll never even know we're coming!

WOO!

GO TEAM DEREK!

That's when I realized how Serpentine-like the voices sounded. All this time, the voices were just other telepathic voices. The real question is why can Tyler and I hear our enemies conversations? My eyes locked with Tyler's, and I knew he was thinking this as well.

I motioned for him to follow me out of the room. "Get Toby, Joey, and Brian in the kitchen," I said. "I'll bring you guys the golden weapons. Also tell the twins and Jessica to prepare to fight."

"Shouldn't we be hiding the weapons?"

"No, you need them to fight. Besides, they were planning on ambushing us, not taking them out of your hands. It'll throw them off, and it'll help you fight."

"What about the adults? How are they going to defend themselves?"

"Tell Lloyd what's happening. He'll know what to do."

"Yea. IF he believes me."

I looked him in the eye. "Trust me. He'll believe you."

Our eyes remained connected for a few precious seconds, then he ran off to warn the others. Putting myself back together, I ran downstairs to get the weapons. I picked up the ice shurikens, the scythe of quakes, the nun-chucks of lightning, and finally reached for the sword of fire. That's when I remembered something Lloyd had said in the beginning of training. "No mortal has the strength or power to possess all four of the golden weapons at once." He told us about Lord Garmadon, who had to summon power and more arms to be able to hold the four weapons, and eventually turn them into the mega weapon. I don't think anyone else in the world was ever powerful enough to use the mega weapon.

But, of course, I remembered all this as I was picking up the fourth weapon. It felt like a volt of electricity shot through my veins, and I could feel the power tearing my insides apart.

I screamed.

And that was it.

OMG Did I just kill off the main character? Maybe, maybe not. :^)

Apparently Kevin works for Derek. But I mean, Kevin is an evil son of a bitch. It only makes sense.

P.S. I think it's really funny that I made Cole a fat and lazy old man. No one can ever understand how happy that makes me feel :)
