Titan's Tower, Jump City
8:38am
Robin's POV
Beam me up in six. I typed out the reply to Batman, accepting the invite.
After stopping the Hive Five last night, I haven't been able to sleep a wink. Thoughts of Danny living in some dark dirty alleyway kept entering my mind. Was he even getting enough food to consume? Or a shelter over his head? And why hasn't he gone to Vlad Master's when he is his godfather? All these thoughts plague me throughout the night.
Even though I worry about his well-being, I know that Danny will be fine. He has always been able to get away from trouble with his wits. Either from Mom when he accidentally broke something, or from bullies who tries to steal his toys. He must have a reason to run away and not go to Master's. If so then I'll have to track him down while finding out what caused him to act this way.
As for accepting the invitation, I decided to check out what's so important that they wanted to conduct a meeting this quick for. If its something the Justice League themselves can handle, I would resume my search for Danny. If not... I would just have to deal with whatever is happening as fast as possible.
Although it is unsettling that they are asking for the Teen Titan's help. They, especially Batman, wouldn't just get reinforcements just because they think they couldn't handle the threat themselves. They've probably confronted whatever it was and deemed it bad enough to get help from others.
I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. There's so many things I have to do, yet so little time to complete them.
I looked at the invite and my reply on the screen one last time before turning off my computer and making my way towards the living room where I would inform the others of the current situation.
Upon entering, I took note of Beast Boy and Cyborg competing in a racing game on the big screen. Starfire was... cooking something that smells suspiciously like old socks with mustard...?
I shuddered and thank the heavens I was leaving in three minutes. I scanned the room once again and noticed Raven wasn't here with the others, she must be in her room again.
I took out my communicator and contacted Raven, who picked up almost instantly. Her face appeared on the tiny screen and I could clearly see in the background that she was in fact in her room.
"What is it, Robin?" Raven asked in a slightly irritated voice, I probably interrupted her meditation.
"Can you come to the living room for a while?" Sensing that it was more of an order than request, Raven nodded before cutting the connection. Pocketing my communicator, I turned back to see that the others had noticed my presence while I had been talking to Raven.
"Oh Robin, you're awake! I hope you have a glorious morning! I have cooked us some breakfast to eat!" Starfire exclaimed as she flew out from the kitchen and landed in front of me with her arms raised as if getting ready to hug me.
"That's great Star, but I have something to tell all of you before I need to leave." I smiled back at her.
Starfire looked disappointed yet curious as to what I have to say, while Beast boy and Cyborg looked surprised.
"Where are you going? Will it be long?" Cyborg queried, arching his eyebrow.
"Are you going to have a top-secret mission? If so, bring me along with you!" Beast boy yelled excitedly, his eyes sparkling with anticipation.
"I'll explain everything in awhile, I've already called Raven to get here to hear this as well." Just as I had finished speaking, the door slid opened behind me and Raven walked in.
"So what's this about?" Raven questioned as she stood beside Starfire.
I rubbed the back of my neck and started explaining what was going to happen.
"I got an invite to the Watchtower for an emergency meeting from Batman. I will be leaving in a minute or so for it and I'll be back at an indefinite time. Depending on what the meeting is about, I might not be back for at least a day."
There was a shocked silence that lasted a second before I was bombarded with questions.
"What-?!"
"Why would they-?"
"Are yo-"
"But Robi-!"
Their voices overlapped each other as they all tried to be heard. Their volumes increase as they realized I wasn't able to hear what they were saying with how they were yelling at the same time.
Only Raven was the only one who stood calmly and quietly at the side, she had already predicted this would happen and decided for things to calm down before asking her own queries.
I raised my right hand for silence. They paused their questioning almost immediately, waiting for what I have to say this time.
"I'm not sure what is happening to cause this but I would be leaving any minute now. If I do get the chance, I would let you guys know what's going on. For now, I would be putting Cyborg in-charge until I get back."
Letting this piece of information to sink in, I waited for what they have to say. Beast boy was the first to shake himself out of his thoughts.
"Hey! Why don't I get to be the one in-charge? I would make an awesome leader too!"
Raven rolled her eyes at this.
"Cyborg would know how to help the team and which orders to give to who. In other words, he can help the team function more efficiently than anyone else." I explained to the pouting Beast boy.
"I'll be leaving soon, if there's anything you can't handle then get reinforcements from the other Titans." I said as I turned to look at the others.
Right after I said that and before the others could ask any more questions, a bright light consumed me as I was transported to the Watchtower.
And that's chapter 2! Now I'm gonna go eat my breakfast cause I'm starving. I'll probably post the next chapter today or something, depends on the reviews. I was only able to get this chapter out so quick because of the support I received. So please review more!
