I'm back.

I know, I know, I said that I'd update sooner, but things happened and writer's block came back (and it hasn't completely gone away either) but I tried my best. Enjoy ;)

Disclaimer: You should know by now.

Upon hearing Jamie's frantic yelling, all the Gatekeepers, Susan and Richard had gathered in the room where they had the earlier meeting. Jamie had explained about trying to contact with Holly and then hearing her voice. He was now going mental, fearing the worst.

'How do you know it wasn't just your imagination?' Richard asked sceptically.

Jamie's eyes widened. 'What-why-how can you even think that?! I heard her! I was calling for her and she answered with those screams! We have to help her now!

'That's my point. How do you know that you didn't just imagine her voice because you were so desperate to hear it?'

Jamie stared at him. 'I know I didn't imagine it,' he growled.

Richard opened his mouth to speak but Matt shot him a 'shut-up' look. Richard raised his eyebrows. Still bossing him around.

'Where was she?' Matt asked quietly, sitting beside Jamie and resting a hand on his shoulder. Jamie seemed to calm down a bit.

'Um... I don't know,' Jamie began but he saw Matt's eyes were closed tightly. He opened them again. He looked at Jamie, pain in his eyes. 'You weren't imagining her. She really did call.'

'But?'

'But, you were right; she called for a good reason. She was being attacked by a policewoman. Holly seemed to recognise her.'

All colour drained out of Jamie's face. 'Oh no,' he whispered. He looked at Matt. 'That woman was in a police force that attacked Holly's village and chased us down the canal.' Jamie shook his head. 'I thought she was dead.'

Matt bit his lip. 'Well, I guess you were wrong.'

Jamie began to panic. 'If we don't get to Holly now, then maybe she'll be dead by the time we find her!'

Scott jumped up and crouched in front of Jamie. 'She won't. We'll find her before that woman can even think about killing her.'

Jamie smiled a little. 'Thanks, Scott.'

Susan turned to Matt. 'How did you see Holly?'

'I just used my power,' Matt shrugged. Then he blinked in surprise at his own statement. He looked at Susan. 'Is that even possible?'

Susan's blind eyes widened in shock behind her black-tinted glasses. 'Your power to see the future has expanded. You can see the present and the past too, am I correct?'

'I think so...'

'I must admit, I never dreamt you'd be able to do that.'

'It might be useful,' Pedro said.

Jamie stared at the floor, Scott unable to comfort him.

'We have to find her,' Jamie whispered. 'We have to find her.'

We will Jamie. I promise.

Pedro strolled through the park, hands in his pockets, rubber sandals flattening the grass. He had left the building in a hurry, wanting to be alone. He was worried about Holly. He hadn't really known her that well, but he had seen how much Jamie cared for her. They were already trying to figure out where she was, using Jamie's descriptions of the policewoman and Matt's newly advanced power.

He glanced around at the plants. They were so healthy and alive, so unlike any the plants he had seen in any place during the Old Ones' reign. He then noticed a small patch of flowers near him. They were rotten and dying. That was more like what had happened to all the plants before.

Pedro walked over and crouched by the flowers. Curiously, he touched them. As if by magic, the flower became bright and it grew and blossomed. Pedro felt his eyes widen. He touched another. The same thing happened.

He stared in surprise at the healed flowers. He had heard something Miss Ashwood had said about them while talking to Richard.

'All the plants were dead here too. There was no sign of any life and all the animals had disappeared. But then, they healed themselves, right after you and the Gatekeepers arrived here. Scarlett said she saw a few swans on the lake and there are deer in the woods again. No one can explain it.'

Now, Pedro thought he might have the answer - what if he did it?

'You should go to bed, Jamie,' Scott said, pushing Jamie up the stairs.

'But - '

'I promise I'll wake you if we hear anything about Holly. Now go to sleep.'

Scott steered Jamie into the bed and tucked him in. Jamie looked at him and saw a glimpse of the Scott before Nightrise, who searched for food while Jamie slept at night, who protected him from everything and anything. He was getting better. Jamie could feel it.

Scott smiled sadly and squeezed his shoulder. 'You found me, Jamie. You'll find Holly too.'

Jamie nodded. He was exhausted. Soon, he was asleep.

He found himself in the dreamworld. He was outside the library and it seemed to be evening time. The place was filled with colour and life. He saw a bonfire in the distance, and he heard music and laughter. He was tempted to join them but something held him back.

He glanced into the library. It was dark and mysterious. He had heard Matt talk about it. From the bitterness of his voice when he did speak of it, Jamie guessed he hated the place. If Matt hated it, then maybe it wasn't a good idea to venture in there.

He felt a sudden presence and he turned. He gasped. It was Holly.

'Jamie,' she said, tears in her eyes. She ran to him and they embraced.

'Oh, God, babe, are you okay? Did she hurt you? Matt told me everything, 'cause he saw, and the policewoman, and - '

'Whoa, Jay, slow down,' she laughed and then winced as her hand clutched her chest. She saw Jamie's eyes fill with concern.

'I'm fine,' she whispered. Jamie could see she wasn't.

'Where are you?' he asked.

'In the dreamworld,' she chuckled.

Jamie frowned at her. 'Holly.'

'I'm in a warehouse in Waterloo. I'm not sure where exactly.'

'That's okay. Matt will be able to figure it out and maybe the Traveller will help. I'll come and find you. Everything's going to be fine.'

Holly's face paled. 'No. You need to stay. I'll find a way out, I promise.'

The waves crashed on the beach in the distance as Jamie stared at her. 'Do you honestly think I'm going to leave you to defend yourself? Holly, I would never do that. Ever.' He pulled her into his arms, wishing that she was really there, wishing he had stopped her leaving, that he had been more forceful...

'You can't come. She'll kill you.'

'But she'll kill you if I don't come!'

'Jay, promise me you won't come after me.'

Jamie stayed silent.

'Jamie, promise me!'

Holly started to feel less solid. He looked at her in horror.

'I'm being woken up,' she whispered. She looked him right in the eyes. 'Don't come after me. Please. I'll find my own way out.' She kissed him. 'I lo-' She vanished.

Jamie frowned at the patch of grass where she had stood, tears of pain in his eyes. 'I love you, too.'

Well, that's that. Thanks for all your support, it really spurs me on :). I would've probably stopped writing this ages ago if I didn't have to post it.

BTW: I've posted the first of the other stories I was talking about last time: The Accident. The story's called 'Flashbacks'. Check it out!

Well, bye!
