Hi guys!

Well, it's Christmas Eve, I've just gotten a load of pressies and I'm going to have to hit the hay before the big man himself comes down the chimney. But, I finally finished this chapter, so here you go!

Disclaimer: I honestly don't own PO5.

Scarlett was standing at the doorway of the kitchen silently. She was watching someone but she didn't know why she wanted to watch him.

Matt was sitting on a stool at the kitchen island. Bored, he glanced at the cutlery drawer and a fork flew out. He began to spin it in the air. Resting his head on his left hand, elbow on the countertop, he waved his right hand, causing the fork to bend slightly. Then he made it straight again and flicked his hand. It zoomed back into the drawer. The drawer slammed shut. He sighed.

'Neat trick,' Scarlett said. She saw Matt jump and then turn around slowly.

He smiled gently. 'Thanks.'

Matt looked at her and he realised she was staring at him. He shuffled uncomfortably in his seat.

'Oh!' Scarlett gasped. 'I'm sorry!' She blushed.

Matt smiled. He slid from the seat and then tapped her chin. She looked up sheepishly.

'There's nothing to be sorry for,' he whispered. She stared into his eyes. He brushed a strand of hair out of her face.

Suddenly they heard someone speaking in another language. Scarlett and Matt quickly stepped away from each other. Matt saw Pedro chattering in rapid fast Spanish to Richard, who was trying desperately to calm Pedro down and understand what he was saying.

Richard caught Matt's eye and the helpless look on his face was too much. Matt burst out laughing. Scarlett jumped at the noise. She looked up at Richard, who just shook his head in confusion. She elbowed Matt in the ribs and he yelped, shooting her a dirty look. She just smiled.

Richard finally managed to calm Pedro down. He listened closely as Pedro repeated what he had been saying. Scarlett meanwhile managed to help Matt compose himself.

Richard translated for the two others. 'Pedro said that they're going to leave for Waterloo soon. They're going to find Holly.'

Just then Sophie and the Traveller, who they had recently learned was called Graham Fletcher, ran in.

'Right,' Sophie panted, 'Pedro, you're going.'

Pedro sprinted out to the jeep in the distance.

'Richard, you're staying here to keep an eye on these two, as the twins are going as well.' Graham added, nodding to Matt and Scarlett. The latter two glanced at each other and smiled. They had recently become quite close and wouldn't mind basically having the house to themselves. It wasn't like Richard was going to bother them!

Two hours later, the three of them said goodbye to the search party. Matt was to give regular direction updates using his powers so that they could find their way.

Jamie sat in the back, his eyes red and swollen. Scott had his arm around his shoulders protectively. Scarlett was glad to see that. Scott was getting better - that was certain.

The pain was overwhelming. She opened her eyes, quite reluctantly and groaned. She was still in the godforsaken cell that that witch put her in earlier. She blinked slowly and tried to make out something other than the rotting wood and the damp walls.

She stood up but she fell down again, her head spinning. She knew that she was injured and she knew that it was hopeless to think she could walk out of here, even if there weren't any people to deal with. She sighed. She told Jamie not to come to help her, but she couldn't see how she'd get out of this hellhole without him.

'Hello Holly,' she heard a voice say. She didn't even bother looking up, as she already knew who it was.

The policewoman strolled slowly up to her, nudging Holly's arm with her foot. Holly, bruised all over, whimpered in pain.

'So pathetic,' the policewoman hissed. Holly avoided her piercing eyes. Sometimes she wondered if the Tyler twins weren't the only telepaths around. In case she was right, she always made sure not to look straight into her eyes.

'I'm not pathetic.'

'Excuse me?' The policewoman said. She was like a teacher – she hated backchat.

'I said, I'm not pathetic.' Holly exclaimed. Before she knew what was happening, the policewoman had her against the wall, her hands around her throat, just like the night she was captured.

'Don't you dare correct me,' she said menacingly. 'don't you dare.'

'Let – go – of – me!'

'Never.'

Holly's vision became black around the edges. She knew what was happening. She was going to die. This was the end. She thought of Jamie. She was never going to see him again.

That's where she was wrong.

She heard a door bang open. She heard shouting. And then she heard him.

'Get your hands off my girlfriend, you bitch.'

And that's where it ends.

This is probably going to be my last post of 2013, so I bid you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Hope Santa Claus is good to you!
