What if I'm far from home?
Oh, brother I will hear you call.
What if I lose it all?
Oh, sister I will help you out!
Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you.
There's nothing in this world I wouldn't do.

Hey Brother- Avicii

*beepbeep* *beepbeep*

I groaned as the annoying tone of my alarm went off. I blindly felt for the switch on the side of the clock and hit snooze. Cracking one eye open I saw that the clock read 4:45am. Groaning louder I rolled over and wrap my arm around my love, enjoying the warmth and contentment that fell over me. Her luscious brown locks swept over the pillow, the scent of strawberries invaded my senses. Bella.

"Shouldn't you be leaving soon?" she asked groggily as she stretched and rolled over.

It was Charlie and mines traditional Sunday morning. Wake up at the crack of dawn and head out fishing for the day. We'd been doing this pretty much every Sunday since Bella and I moved to Forks, 3 months ago. Charlie and I took to each other as if we'd been buddies all our lives. Bella told me how surprised she was when he started referring to me as "son". I couldn't believe how my life had turned out. It wasn't too long ago when I was found injured and wandering the highway with no idea of who or how I came to be. It didn't matter anymore to me. I found a home. My place in the world. As long as I had Bella I need not want anything else.

I glanced at the clock again and jolted up as I saw that it was already 4:53am. Charlie and I were trying out a new location that Charlie had never been to, which was a rarity given how much Charlie loves fishing. This required us to leave earlier then we would normally. I hopped out of bed and quickly got ready. It was now 4:59am, Charlie was picking me up at 5am. I leaned over and kissed Bella goodbye, she had already fell back to sleep.

"Sweet dreams, my love."

Charlie and I had been hiking for almost an hour now. The sun was fully up and neither one of us was in a good mood.

"Goddamit!" Charlie yelled as he tripped over some roots. He hissed in pain and immeadiately grabbed for his ankle.

"Shit, Charlie… How bad does it hurt? Is it broken?"

Grunting in pain, Charlie attempted to stand up and instantly groaned and collapsed.

"Fuck me" he muttered under his breath, "I don't think I can walk".

I moved to help hoist him, but he proceeded to stop me.

"No, no…this isn't going to work"

"What should we do?" I honestly never thought I would find myself in this situation being with the Police Chief after all, how much safer could a person be?

"You're going to have to go back to the car, radio for help. Here…" Charlie handed me the map we had been using "the marked part is roughly where we are now, use those coordinates to get help."

"Just leave you? Are you sure that's safe?"

"It's better than both of us just sitting on our asses" He chuckled painfully

I didn't like the idea of leaving him injured and alone in the forest, but didn't have a choice in the matter. He needed help and I was going to help him.

"Okay, I'll be as fast as I can, stay put"

"I'm not going anywhere" He again chuckled.

I gave him a fleeting smile and then took off.

I ran some spots that remembered being relatively flat. I made sure to be carefully, wouldn't do either of us good if I injured myself as well.

I was sweating profusely by the time I made it back to the car. I'm pretty sure I made it in record time too. I took no time in radioing for help. Help was finally on the way. I decided it was best if I returned to Charlie, to make sure he was okay. I headed back down the path I came from and again as fast as I could returned to Charlie.
