- Elizabeth's P.O.V. -

I reach the track in a record time. I can't believe he didn't tell me. This is a big thing in the Academy for the JROTC program. Why didn't him tell me? I keep asking myself this as I walk onto the track, right into Alex's path.

"Why didn't you tell me that you're competing in the Virginian Military Games in eight weeks?"

I ask Alex as he's bent over trying to catch his breathe. He takes a deep breath before standing up straight and he looks into my eyes.

"I just found out today. I was going to tell you later. How'd you find out?"

He asks. I roll my eyes.

"Who'd do ya think? Katie told me."

I say and he nods his head.

"Do you want to get lunch after I get done with this last lap?"

He asks while taking my hand. I smile and nod.

"Yeah. I'm hungry so you better run fast."

I laugh removing my hand from his and move out of his way. Alex begins to jog then he turns around and begins to jog backwards.

"I'M HAVING LUNCH WITH MARY WALBURN!"

Alex yells to the world. He throws me a smirk and then turns back around to run his last lap.

- Alex's P.O.V. -

Mary left after I yelled that and I finished my lap. I left the track to go take a shower. I take a step into the barracks and come face to face with all of the boys.

"We need to get rid of Payne."

Leland says and all the boys nod. I shake my head at them.

"You guys figure out a plan by yourselves and then come back to me. I have something to do right now."

I say pushing through the boys to get to my bunk. I grab a towel and clothes.

"So, you'll help then?"

Wuliger asks. I turn around and shake my head.

"I'll help you, but you morons are going to come up with the plan."

I say turning back around and walking into the shower.

'Idiots. All of them. Don't they know I'm about to have lunch with the most beautiful girl in the Academy?'

- Mary's P.O.V. -

'Why did I agree to have lunch with Alex? What if he just wants lunch to humiliate me? Maybe I should cancel it?'

I worry to myself in my room. Instead of finishing homework, I'm sitting here worrying about my lunch with Alex.

'No. I need to go. Show him that I can be friends. If he humiliates me than I will fight him.'

I nod to myself. I get up from the desk chair and start the walk to the cafeteria where I'm meeting Alex.

- Later -

My lunch with Alex went smoothly without chaos. Lots of stares from people, but other than that it went fine. We had a nice conversation and I had a lot of fun until his other cadets decided to interrupt saying something about a way to get Major Payne fired. That's when Alex had to leave. So, I'm now sitting in my room wondering what way they are going to get Major Payne fired.

I get my phone out to see if Alex has text me at all. I look at the screen and don't see a message. I put my phone back in my pocket.

'Well I'm going to find out what they are planning.'

I walk out of the house and make the journey down to the barracks. I knock on the door when I finally reach the barracks. I hear whispering after I knocked. Alex suddenly pops up and opens the door.

"What are you doing here, Mary?"

He asks. I look him dead in the eye.

"What are you guys planning on doing to Major Payne?"

"We're not going to do anything. So don't worry."

"Well I will worry. I don't exactly want you to die while trying to get rid of him. And I can help."

I say looking at him.

"Fine. Come in, but you can't tell anyone. Not even Katie."

"Fine."

I say and I walk past him to find all the cadets looking at me.

"Hi. I'm Mary Walburn."

I say with a little awkward wave. Some of the boys have their mouths open and the others are giving me the evil glare.

"I'm here to help you guys get rid of Major Payne."

"We don't need a girls help."

One of the boys says. I raise an eyebrow.

"Oh really? Well, what do you have so far?"

I ask sitting on the only empty bed that was not occupied by one of the boys. The boys look around at each other.

"Well, we came up with one idea. We are going to dress one of us into a girl and get a picture of him laying next to Payne."

I think his name is Johnson says. I look up at Alex, who is standing behind me.

"That's a pretty good plan."

I'm so sorry that I haven't updated in a year. I got a writer's block on this story and then I kinda forgot about it. But I'm on Christmas break from college, so I will try to update again.

Thanks for sticking with this story!

Love and kisses,
