AN: Okay so my phone started playing "Can't Help Falling In Love" by the one and only Elvis Presley while I was scrolling from tumblr and landed on a really cute Johnlock fan art, then BAM! This happened, please feel free to tell me what you think.

We Don't Listen to Wise Men

When Mrs. Hudson opened the door to 221B she didn't expect to hear anything like the particular song being played on Sherlock's violin. Sherlock Holmes was not the sentimental type, nor did he usually play anything other than classical pieces but on this rainy Monday he made an exception. But what really astounded Mrs. Hudson was when the shorter of the two boys began to sing.

"Wise men say only fools rush in, but I can't help falling in love with you."

The violin gave the former army doctor's bright voice a melancholy edge that worsened as her sang the next verse.

"Shall I stay, would it be a sin? If I can't help falling in love with you."

She sucked in a little gasp as her heart began to break at the sadness in John's voice and the torment vibrating though the stings of the consulting detective's instrument.

"Like a river flows, surely to the sea, Darling so it goes, some things are meant to be."

Mrs. Hudson smiled wanly as she heard the smile in John's voice,

"Take my hand, take my whole life too, for I can't help falling in love with you."

The violin's mournful symphony swelled and became a summer breeze, warm and loving.

"Like a river flows, surely to the sea, Darling so it goes, some things are meant to be."

John sung his voice growing in brightness equal to the joy in Sherlock's orchestral accompaniment. Mrs. Hudson smiled as she leaned against the wall and with her eye closed just listened to the odd pair.

"Take my hand, take my whole life too, for I can't help falling in love with you."

You didn't have to be Sherlock to notice that the boys had gotten closer throughout the song, John's voice emanating closer to the origin of the violin's melody than it had been at the start of their duet.

"For I can't help, falling in love with you." John sang alone, the violin fading off.

"For I can't help falling in love with you."

Mrs. Hudson smile was extraordinarily large as she heard both men sing the final line together. Silence engulfed their home but it didn't last long. The sound of knocked over crockery told Mrs. Hudson that she should probably go visit the park for a few hours.

There was one other person who would witness the event much later on a recorded tape in the middle of the night, let's just say that this person wished they'd never put cameras in their baby brother's bedroom.
