Today was like any other day. Class started at 8:20, with Negi as the homeroom teacher. Learning about English was still hard for the class. Matt had it down easily, considering him being from America.
"Matt, I need you to teach me English sometime!" Haruna, Yue, and Nodoka were crowding around him.
"Ah, when I have time! I'm a pretty busy guy..." He was obviously lying.
Setsuna looked concerned, worried that more girls are swooning over Matt. She got really jealous and punched Matt out of nowhere.
"Ow! Hey, Setsuna-chan! What gives?" Matt was confused while all the girls were laughing at Setsuna. She blushed.
Class went on as usual. Negi would give a sentence, a student would repeat it in english.
"'The cow jumped over the moon.' May someone please repeat this?" Negi looked around, seeing girls cover their faces with books, smiling, chatting with themselves.
He noticed Asuna was just sitting there, not paying attention, and so he called her.
"How about you, Asuna?"
"HEY! TWERP, YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO CALL ON ME!"
Matt considered those parts of the class when Asuna would yell at Negi to be the norm.
Kotarou would be sleeping, as usual, and Natsumi would wake him up all the time, causing the room to glance as they developed a cute relationship, even though both of them would deny it.
When class ended, everyone was shuffling out, while Matt was still piling papers into his bag.
"Jeez, how do these girls pack so fast?!"
"We just kind of, got used to it." Setsuna was waiting for Matt, as they usually walk home together.
"Yenno, you don't need to wait for me. I'm going to chat with Negi for a bit." Matt scanned the room. Asuna, Setsuna, Negi, Kotarou (who was still sleeping, I think someone forgot to wake him up). He believed it was the right time to talk to Negi about it.
"I'll just wait for you, then. I don't... I don't want to walk alone." Setsuna blushed, and Matt smiled.
He got up, and walked towards Negi, who was still packing as well.
"Ah, Matt! Is there something you need?"
"Yes, sensei. There's something I need to talk to you about. You see-"
Suddenly, an explosion occurs! Through the rubble and smoke Matt can see a glimpse of a shadow! It was Nogi!
"Hello again, Matt. Feeling well?" He kicked Matt out of the room and into the hallway, where alot of girls were shuffling through. They were frightened and ran away. Asuna couldn't believe what just happened.
"Matt!" Setsuna ran to his side.
"I'm alright, I'm fine." He got up, cracking his back. Then he walked back inside.
"What's up? Haven't seen you in a while." He used instant movement to get by Nogi's side to hit him, but he expected that and countered. Matt was flown onto his back.
"Hey!" Asuna threw an eraser at Nogi.
"You can't just come in here and break the room like that!"
"Ah, my apologies." He walked out the classroom door, shutting it behind him.
"Wha...?"
Knock! Knock! Asuna went to answer it, and there stood Nogi.
"Hello." He punched Asuna into the room, entering. Negi stood in shock, as Nogi very closely resembled his father.
"Negi! Snap out of it!" Asuna stood up. "He's not who you think he is!" Negi wouldn't budge, and Asuna got frustrated.
"Matt, you okay?"
"I think so..." Matt was just getting up, examining the damages done to his body, which were as horrible as he expected.
"Oh, I can't have that." Nogi shot a dark crystal at Matt, which went straight into his right shoulder.
"This again?" Matt pulled it out.
"Think faster than that, Matt." Nogi snapped his hands. Suddenly, the darkness engulfed Matt, covering him from the waist down! It seemed to turn to stone, as Matt could no longer move his legs. He fell to the ground, trying to break the darkness stones with his hands.
"Crap! Setsuna!" Asuna turned. "We have to do this ourselves!"
"Right!" She unsheathed her sword, preparing for battle.
"You think without your little magician here to activate your pactios, you can still stand a chance against me?" Asuna had enough and rushed straight for him, which Nogi dodged easily, but into Setsuna's blade.
I hit him! Setsuna thought.
"You thought wrong." Nogi had made a clone! He blows Setsuna away with his dark magic.
"I'm not here for you two. I'm here for him." He pointed at Matt, who was frightened.
"You're scared? For the first time in a while? This is too much." He stabbed Matt in the chest with a spear he made from his darkness.
"Gah!" Matt grabbed the spear, trying to remove it, when Nogi pushed it in farther. Matt was too weak to fight back, and eventually passed out.
"Don't get up." Nogi turned to Setsuna and Asuna, who were already up.
They had both activated their pactios with Negi, surprising Nogi.
"I thought..."
Setsuna creates three swords and throws them at Nogi! Two miss, but one hits him in the knee.
Asuna took care of the clone, because of her magical-canceling abilities. It disappeared, and as she went to fight Nogi, he felt substantially weaker.
"This feeling... So, you're the girl." He backed up, towards the hole in the wall he created.
"I'll be back next time. Don't think this is the last time you'll see me, Negi." He patted him on the head, which made Asuna furious, and ran for him.
"Until next time, lovelies!" He fell off the building, back first, and when he hit the ground, there was nothing of him.
Everyone was quiet. The school was in shock of what happened. Setsuna and Asuna stood there, surveying the damage. Negi was speechless. Matt was unconcious.
"Hn... Hm."
Kotarou lifted his head.
"Ah.. What's going on-
EH?! What happened here?! Matt! Negi!" He was so confused. Asuna couldn't believe he slept through the entire thing.

Waking up, Matt realizes he's back in his dorm room with Setsuna, Asuna, and Negi.
"What's... going on?" Setsuna turns around, wiping tears off her face.
"He's awake! He's finally awake!" Negi and Asuna turn to him.
"Welcome back." Asuna smiled.
"How long... have I been out?" Matt got up, looking at his legs. They were healed!
"About 4 hours." Matt jumped. Evangeline was in the room with them! Setsuna ran to him and hugged him tight.
"Hey..." Matt hugged back. She must have been really worried about me, he thought.
"How'd you guys fix my legs? Last I remember, they were covered with darkness that hardened like stone."
"Eva fixed it!" Negi smiled. "She had some medicine that cured you right up!"
"I only helped because this boyo begged me to. Don't expect this kind of treatment from me again!" Eva walked outside the room. Matt tried to stop her, but Setsuna was still holding on to him.
"You're okay now, right?" Setsuna was still crying.
"Yes, yeah I am." He pulled Setsuna off of her, and took a look at his body. His shoulder had healed, but his chest was wrapped in bandages.
"What about my chest?"
"Well, do you feel anything?" Matt tried moving around his chest, but it hurt.
"I guess you're still recovering from that too," Asuna said. "You have a strong body, you know that?"
"I've heard that from many people back where I come from." Matt laughed, but it hurt his ribs so he sat down. Setsuna sat next to him. Matt noticed Negi was stressed.
"Yo, kid teacher. What's the matter?" Matt looked at his face. He saw fear in his eyes. Through the smile he gave earlier he saw pain, disbelief.
"N-nothing." Negi turned away. "I'm glad you're alright, but it's getting late, so I should be going now. Asuna, you should follow."
"I will, Negi. You go first." He left.
"So, that was him, huh."
"Yeah. I just don't understand why he's after me."
"Maybe he sees potential in what you have?" Setsuna said to him.
"I don't know. Anyways, is Negi alright? He seems kind of... stressed."
"He's in shock. I think he thinks that's his real father."
"I see..." Matt looked at the clock.
"Oh! It is getting late, Asuna. You should leave. I'll be fine here now."
Asuna left, and after chatting with Setsuna about dinner, Matt fixed up a quick dinner then went to bed without eating. He made dinner for her only, as he wasn't hungry.
After finishing the meal, Setsuna got up and prepared for bed. Before getting in, she took a look at Matt. He looked so peaceful and calm, after everything that happened today.
"I hope things get better from here," Setsuna said to herself. Then she jumped into bed, and turned out the light.

So I'm more determined than ever to get this story on the road! So follow the story because chapters might come sooner than expected! Like this one, haha.
