"Matt! We're going to be late!" Setsuna was pushing Matt back and forth in his bed, trying to wake him up. He was sound asleep, almost as if he didn't care about school.
Impatient, Setsuna grabbed a pot of water and poured it over him.
"AH! I'm up, I'm up!" Matt looked around.
"Ugh. What time is it?" He had bags around his eyes.
"It's time to leave!" Setsuna started walking out the door as Konoka was entering.
"Matt!~ You better get up or you'll be left behind again! You don't want Setsuna-chan to walk by herself, do you?"
Suddenly, Matt was up and dressing whilst brushing his teeth. Before Konoka knew it, Matt was ready for school!
"I am not allowing that!"

RING! The bell rang and all of the students were shuffling outside.
"Remember our homework, class! Be sure to have your essays ready by tomorrow! Sending it to my on my computer tonight would be better!" Negi stood smiling. He knew most of them weren't listening to them.
After about 2 minutes, the only students left in class were Matt, Setsuna, Konoka, and Evangeline. Matt was still packing.
"I'm still not used to this, haha." Matt sweat a single drop.
"It's okay, take your time. We have all day.~" Konoka replied. She was going to accompany Setsuna and Matt on their way to pick up groceries for dinner.
Evangeline walked up to Negi.
"Listen, boyo. I heard that you have some... Troubles with your emotions." She turned to Matt.
"Hey, other boy."
"The name's Matt, Eva."
"...Matt. I need you to stay with us today. We need you for something." Negi looked puzzled.
Matt grunted, then sighed. He turned to Setsuna and Konoka.
"Setsuna, would it be alright if you went on without me? I guess I can't make dinner tonight, so you can get some fast food or something."
Setsuna was saddened hearing that. She looked down.
"...Only if you promise me to be safe."
Matt hugged Setsuna. "Of course! I won't be leaving anytime soon. I'll be back, I promise."
Setsuna blushed, and hugged Matt back. Taking her leave, she walks out of the room with Konoka.
Matt turned back to Eva.
"So, what's up?"
"You're going to spar with Negi." Negi and Matt were shocked.
"Spar?!"
"Yes, that's right. In order for Negi to release his stress, he has to empty his magic building inside him. That's why you fight with him."
"Well, why can't you battle him instead?" Matt was leaning on the teacher's desk, which Negi didn't seem to mind.
"You need to recover too, don't you? After all, you haven't fought anyone in a while, so you're probably out of shape."
Matt looked at his chest. "I... I guess so. Alright, I'm in!"
"What about me?!" Kotarou was standing in the doorway.
"Kotarou?!" Negi said. "I thought you went home!"
"I heard some 'spar' going on, so I'm coming with! End of story!"
"I guess Kotarou can be of use too. Alright, then we leave now." Evangeline made her way to the door, and the boys followed.
Walking, Matt realizes they're still in civilization.
"Where are we going? Aren't we going to an open area to spar?"
"Too risky. You already had that spar with Fate and them a while back, so everyone's starting to get suspicious. You almost started a forest fire!" Eva glared at Matt.
"Ah... I see. So, where are we going?"
"To my personal... fighting arena."
They arrive at Evangeline's house, and they go inside.

"Whoa!" Matt looked around.
"This is amazing! All in a small bottle?!" He was amazed.
"Yup, all for us." Evanegline sat down.
"Now then, I believe it's time for you three to fight."
Unclothing, they all prepared for battle, shirtless.
"I'm definitely going to win this time!" Kotarou was determined to win.
Negi threw the first blow at Matt! Matt was slow at realizing his speed, and threw him off. Then he shot some magic at him, which Negi blocked.
Kotarou used Instant Movement to get to Negi quickly, and punched him in the side, into Matt's dark magic. Kotarou then sprinted for Matt, and although Kotarou had the strength of one hundred men, his punch was stopped by Matt's palm, barely moving him. This happened several times. Then Matt punched him in the face, pushing him back.
Negi cast a dark bolt at Matt, and it hit him in the back! It didn't puncture, but it was dull and strong enough to knock him off his feet. Matt recovered in the air, and when he landed, he bent down and grabbed his chest.
"Ow! Negi, that hurt!" Negi wasn't paying attention. A sudden dark aura was surrounding Negi, and he cast a spell at Matt! Matt dodged it, and realized what Eva was talking about.
"Don't forget about me!" Kotarou casted Kuonbakusaiken and punched Matt in the right shoulder, into a wall.
"Alright, that's it. Time to end this!" He put his fingers out, ready to snap.
"Shadows of the night! Channel my energy into a weapon to blow my enemies away! Shadow Beam!" Then he snapped. It came out in a straight line, taking out Kotarou and Negi easily. They were gasping for air, as was Matt.
"Wow, that was quite a match!" Evangeline was clapping. Slowly, to hide her "excitement".
Nows my time to ask, Matt thought.
After taking a break, Matt walked to Eva, trying to think of what to say to her. Her eyes were closed, but she could still sense his presence coming towards her.
"What is it, Matt?"
"Ah, yes. Well you see, Eva-sempai-
I mean, Eva-chan-
I mean- Nevermind. Eva, I was wondering-"
"Don't talk like that to me. It annoys me."
"Right. Eva..." He turned to look at Negi and Kotarou, who were looking at him.
"I want you to teach me more about dark magic casting!" Negi looked surprised.
"Oh? This is interesting. Why?" Eva opened one eye.
"You see, my entire reason to come here was to ask you to teach me. You're well known back where I come from, especially since that Magic World incident. Rumors spread that you taught Negi to fight. And since Negi is one of the strongest magicians I know, I was hoping you would be able to teach me as well."
Evangeline stood up. She looked serious.
"If you really want to... Then you have to fight me."
"Wha- Fight?-"
Suddenly, Evangeline punched him in the jaw! He jumped back, shooting dark magic at her with his fingers. Eva dodged them easily. Matt jumped up and over Eva, shooting dark magic, and Eva seemed to be absorbing it as she was putting her palm up and stopping them.
Then, before Matt landed, she shot magic at his landing spot, making the floor slick as oil! Matt landed and slipped.
"Ow! Crap!"
"You focus too much on one target. Pay attention to their surroundings and you can beat them. Now get up." Eva kicked Matt, forcing him up, and pushed him back.
"That was... entertaining. I suppose I could train you."
"Really?! Yes! You have no idea how much this means to me! Thank you, Eva-sempai-" Evangeline punched him in the face.
"From now on, you call me 'master'. Understand? None of this 'Eva-sempai' stuff."
"Alright."
"Alright, what?" Eva held a blade to Matt's throat, which surprised him since he didn't know Eva had one on her.
"A-A-Alright, master." Negi was laughing. At least he feels better, Matt thought.

Returning to the real world, Matt noticed time hadn't passed! He looked around outside Evangeline's house. It was still afternoon, even though it felt like they were sparring for hours.
"How did- Wha-"
"Ah, yes. Time passes slower in Evangeline's private area," Negi stated.
"Amazing!" Suddenly, Matt realized something.
"If only five minutes passed, then Setsuna must still be at the store! I have to go! Negi, master, Kotarou. It's been fun sparring with you today!"
They saw him off, and Matt hurried to catch up with Setsuna and Konoka at the store.
Running inside, he sees Setsuna picking up a microwaveable dinner plate, which he grabbed immediately and set it down. Setsuna was shocked.
"Whew! Don't eat that anymore, I'm here now!" Matt smiled, but looked like he was in pain.
"Are you okay? You look like you're hurting!" Setsuna touched Matt's chest. He blushed.
"Y-Yeah, I'm fine! Anyways, let me cook dinner tonight again! I'll get the ingredients."
Konoka walks up to them.
"Ouuh! Hello, cute couple!~ Matt, didn't expect to see you back so soon!"
"Yeah, I was inside Evangeline's private training-thingy and time passed pretty quickly!" Setsuna realized what Matt had been doing.
"You were sparring?!" She looked at Matt's face.
"Y-Yeah..."
"You know you aren't supposed to! You needed at least 3 weeks of rest to recover your chest! Please, Matt! You said you would be safe..."
"I am safe! It was just a little sparring, that's all. I'm fine, see?" He jumped around. "Everything's okay!"
"You could have... You could have been hurt more!" She started looking down.
Matt grabbed Setsuna's wrist, and made her look at him.
"Look, Setsuna. I'm glad you're worried about me. But you need to trust me. I know my body's extents. If I had been more hurt, Konoka could have healed me anyways, right? Okay?"
Setsuna was still looking worried. Matt hugged her.
"If you want, let's make a promise."
"What kind... of promise?"
"I promise to protect you, and you promise to protect me. I'll travel with you to the ends of the earth just to protect you. Alright?" Setsuna was quiet, and now people were looking at them because they looked like a cute couple.
"...A...Alright..." He let go of Setsuna.
"Good. Now, let's go get ingredients for dinner." He started walking away. Setsuna stood there, looking at him.
"I promise, Matt. I'll always protect you, like I protect Ojou-sama..."
"Ah! Ooh Setsuna-chan, someone's in loooove!~" Konoka had been listening to whole time.
"...AH!" Setsuna blushed and ran from Konoka. She tripped and fell on Matt, grabbing ingredients.
"Setsuna! You okay?"
"Y-Yeah..."
