"Ehh?! N-Negi-sensei... You want us to what?!"
Negi bowed his head in the presence of Nodoka and Yue.
"Please, girls! I wish for you to bring us to the library! We need to research something!" The party consisted of Negi, Chisame, Setsuna, and Asuna.
They insisted on travelling into the library to search for a book on magic which would (hopefully) give insight on Nogi and his appearance.
"I-I guess we could help..." Nodoka looked at her books. "I have to return these, anyway." Yue pulled Nodoka aside.
"You know, Nodoka... Now would be a great time to pull a fast one on Negi."
"E-Eh?! Yue, that's-"
"Uhm, Yue? We don't plan to stay in there long." Asuna was already next to Nodoka, overhearing their conversation. Nodoka and Yue let off steam.
"O-Okay! We'll take you!" Nodoka started walking with Yue towards the library. The party followed closely behind.
"So, Setsuna-chan," Asuna started, "how come Matt isn't coming with us? I would have expected him of all people to be interested in finding out Nogi's origins."
"Well, you see..."

"Hey, Matt?...
...Matt?"
"Sorry Setsuna, I gotta go somewhere today! I'll be back later."
"B-But we have to-"
"I know you guys are planning to go somewhere too, but I have something important to do!" Matt ran out of the room early in the morning, leaving Setsuna clueless to where he was going. However, she guessed it was to go training with Eva.

"Aw, so you guys can't be all lovey-dovey around us!" Chisame teased. Setsuna blushed and hit Chisame on the back of the head.
"Chisame, why are you here? To protect Negi-sensei, I'm guessing?" Asuna was laughing. "How cute!~"
"Hey, shut up! I made a promise to myself that I would accompany Negi through anything. If it's helping him finding his father, then I'm here to help too! Not that I'm much of a fighting type, but I'm here for morale!"
"Sure, you are." Setsuna looked at Chisame with intent. Chisame growled at her.
"Please, girls! Let's focus on what we're doing." Negi wasn't paying attention to their conversations.
Finally reaching the library, they notice nothing changed on the exterior. They walk in, seeing the thousands of books the bookworms see on a daily basis.
"You guys are used to seeing all of these books?" Asuna was getting dizzy from looking up.
"Yup! Now, what kind of book are you guys looking for?"
"Well, to be honest Nodoka, it's about dark magic." Negi turned to her, putting on the most serious face he could conjure up, which Nodoka found to be extremely cute.
"A-ah... Well, if you're looking for that, you must be going to the weird sections of the library! Let me show you the way."
Walking down the several genres of bookcases, they made it to a door with "Special Permission Required" written on a piece of paper, taped to the door. They walked right in.
"Is it really that easy to get access to dangerous magical books?..." Chisame was dumbfounded.

They started searching through dozens of books. Although Nodoka and Yue didn't ask what specific dark magic spell to look for, they managed to find it after an hour of searching. It was hidden behind 3 stacks of books.
"Negi, is this the book you're searching for?" Nodoka handed it to him, grazing his hand as she pulled hers back. They blushed.
"Y-yes! This is it! Thank you, Nodoka!" He turned to the group.
"Now we can find out about this 'Nogi' person!" That sentence intrigued Yue.
"Hmm..." She turned to Nodoka, pulling her aside.
"Nodoka, don't you realize they're starting a new adventure?"
"Again? We just got back from our Ala Alba 'field trip'. Why are they going on another one?"
"I don't know. That's what I'm going to find out." She turned to Negi's group, listening with one ear.
"Do you really think we'll find a spell about Nogi in here?" Setsuna turned through the pages.
"There has to be! My father wouldn't be a dark magic user who's hell-bent on killing me!"
Yue's eyes widened as she heard that.

"Ah, so that's the book."
"Yes, I believe so." The group turns to the two mysterious people.
"Uhm... Who are you?" Nodoka started. "I've never seen you in this library before..."
"Look, cutie. Stay out of this or you'll be pulled in this too."
"Jubei, trying to flirt with girls again? It hasn't even been 5 minutes since we left the Magical World..."
"Shut up, Reine." Jubei turned to Negi.
"You. Hand me that book and we'll kill you gracefully."
"That's not even remotely fair to us!" Chisame's mouth touched the floor.
"Who are you guys?"
"My name's Jubei."
"And I'm Reine."
"Basic terms, we're hitmen. We've been hired to kill you."
"...KILL US?!" Asuna stepped back, reaching for her pactio card.
"Skip the chatter and just give us that damn book!"

Negi looked at the book, and taking a few hesitant breaths, looked up.
"No."
"What'd you say, kid? You wanna die?"
"I'm not giving you the book... But I'm not dying today."
"Smart words, kid. But we'll see!" He charged towards Negi, while Reine stayed back, keeping Setsuna, Chisame, Nodoka and Yue at bay so they don't escape to get help.
"I see you have a sword there, young lady. But you really shouldn't pull it out, or I'll shoot you. You may be fast, but can you take the gamble?" She pulled out her crossbow, putting one arrow into its chamber and aiming it at them. The tip of the arrow seemed to glow green. Setsuna had no choice but to watch.
Jubei pulled out a gigantic sword, slashing at Negi, but Asuna blocks it with her pactio weapon! She pushes Jubei back, and Negi begins chanting a cast.
"Those words... You're a dark magic user." Jubei opened his bag.
"This should work." He poured what seemed like white liquid onto his sword, making it glow.
Negi shot his magic at Jubei, which he easily blocked with his sword!
"What?!"
"This potion was made by yours truly, Jubei! It's mixed with the wings of an angel to deflect all dark magic that is sent towards me!" It was obvious that he was lying about the "angel's wings" part, but that wasn't the point of interest.
"Now, die!" he slashed, hard, at Asuna, which doesn't seem to hit hard.
"... Bells!" Jubei realized right away the bells in Asuna's hair.

As the fighting became more heated, Nodoka and Yue watched in amazement.
"Hitmen? Who hired hitmen to kill Negi?!" Nodoka was freaking out, while Yue was trying to calm her down.
"Nodoka! Pull it together! Stay calm. After this is over, we'll ask Negi what's going on, for real. He'll have no choice but to tell us."
"Are you trying to assume that Jubei will lose this battle? Ha!" Reine gave a light chuckle. "We're two of the best known hitmen in the Magical World. Don't think you can count us out in fights."

Cutting back to their fight, Asuna is on the ground, almost unconcious as Jubei removed the potion from his sword to normally hit her.
"Don't get up." He turns back to Negi.
"Now, for you." He reaches for his potions, but Negi used instant movement to grab his bag mid-transport!
"You little-" Negi punched him in the stomach, and Jubei spurts blood from his mouth.
He picks up Negi, as he is considerably taller than he is, and throws him to the ground, on his stomach.
Negi turns to his front facing the sky, and he pulls out a red potion, heating the glass and throwing it at Jubei. He slices the glass in half, and though the potion is meant to increase his stamina for a short time, decides not to drink it.
He faces his sword towards Negi's heart, whilst Negi is chanting another magic spell.
"Another dark magic spell? Please, my sword is strong enough to block it now. You're weak."
"Flans Exarmatio!" Suddenly, Jubei's sword flies out of his hand, and when he tried reaching for it, Negi grabs his leg and drops him to the floor.
Now that Negi was the top-dog, he began chanting another spell.
"Iaculatio Fulgoris!" Several lightning spears hit Jubei's arms and legs, temporarily immobilizing him.
As Negi was about to finish Jubei, Reine shoots her arrow into Negi's right shoulder!
"A-Ah..." Negi falls to the floor, unconcious.
"You stupid kid!" Jubei got up. "Was that you're sleeping arrow?"
"Of course. Look, you're not strong enough to keep fighting. We have to leave."
"I'm fi-" Jubei kneels to the floor, holding his right knee.
"No. We're leaving. Or else you'll die here. We underestimated this boy's power." She picks up Jubei, and releasing a smoke bomb, escapes into the forest.
"Crap! I could have stopped them!" Setsuna had her hand on her sword the whole time, but instead of trying to fight them, decided to protect the others from danger incase she was unable to fight too.
"I-it's okay, Setsuna-chan..." Nodoka was hugging her. "Thank you."
Picking up Negi and Asuna, they brought them back to their dorm.

Waking up, they realize that Yue, Setsuna, and Matt were in the room.
"This seems familiar," Matt said.
"Where'd they go?!" Asuna jumped to her feet, ready to fight.
"They're gone. They left after Negi beat Jubei." Setsuna sighed, relieved to see Asuna recover so fast.
"Negi..." Yue was at Negi's side.
"Let Nodoka and I join this new adventure."
"W-W-W-W-What?! 'New Adventure'? Where'd you get this notion from?!"
"It seems like you're planning to go back to the Magical World. I want in."
Matt looks at Negi, unaware of said plan. Negi shrugs, and turns to Yue.
"Yue... You can't go with us."
"Why not?!"
"Well, because... This adventure may prove to be more dangerous than the last. I want to keep the ones who don't know about this safe. The last thing I want is to lose a student."
"We've already been through the crap Fate gave us in the Magical World! What makes you thing we can't handle things now?"
Suddenly, Fate opens the door.
"Because this 'Nogi' being is far more superior in combatant skills than me." Yue was surprised.
"You have no right to join this... cause. If you go without Negi or my's approval, you will get detention. I will probably have to inform the Dean about this too."
Yue grunted.
"Hnn. Fine." She gets up, leaving the room.
"Goodnight, sensei."

Fate walks in, sitting down by Negi's side in the same spot Yue was in.
"You're doing better?"
"Yes, thank you, Fate."
"I would like to inform you that I'm on guard duty next week. I won't be able to substitute for your class, if you do so happen to leave."
"Ah, that's fine." Fate gets up, turning to Matt and Setsuna.
"I expect you to behave well. No committing adultery." Matt and Setsuna let off steam.

After Fate left, Setsuna and Matt stayed in Negi's dorm a little longer to talk. Matt made dinner for all of them, which was delicious as always.
"Matt, how do you make such delicious items?"
"It's a secret! My family's just good at this kind of stuff."
After, they played card games until eventually they all passed out. Negi gave them permission to sleep over for the night, since Setsuna was sleeping soundly.
Getting up to close the lights, Matt turns his head to look at Setsuna.
"I missed alot today, didn't I?"
Then he turns off the lamp.

I already have two new FanFictions planned for after I finish this story and my Angel Beats! one! The first one I'm planning is a FanFiction for Kill la Kill. I haven't gone deeper into the plot for the FanFiction though, mainly because the show isn't over yet. The other FanFiction I'm planning is for the game Tales of the Abyss. Back when I played it in 2012, I loved it right away. However, I forgot all about the game! So I'm playing through it again so I can be ready to write a FanFiction for it!
