Chapter 13
"Is something wrong?" Flora asked as Bloom let her into her temporary room in the infirmary.
"No, I just need to talk to you." Bloom said as she guided Flora to a chair. Flora sat down in the chair and Bloom sat in a chair next to her.
"Do you remember the Twilight series that I made you read?" Bloom asked.
"Of course. You're not going to force us into watching a marathon are you?" Flora asked. Both girls giggled, "Don't tempt me Flora." Bloom replied humorously.
"Do you remember the 'imprinting' for the werewolves?" Bloom asked, getting back on the subject.
"That was the soulmate concept right?" Flora asked.
"That's right. Apparently the author new a real werewolf because imprinting is real." Bloom answered.
"And since we're having this conversation can I assume you've imprinted?" Flora asked. Bloom nodded in response. "Did you imprint on me?" Flora asked. Seeing Bloom blush so much that her checks were as red as her hair was all the conformation she needed.
"I'm sorry Flora." Bloom said as she stood up from her chair.
"Why are you sorry about what you are?" Flora asked, confused. Bloom made her way over to the window and looked out towards the quad.
"Imprinting is a magic connection. It will overtime pull us closer together and I don't want to pull you away from Helia." Bloom explained, not turning towards Flora. She didn't want to see Flora's reaction.
Suddenly Bloom felt a pair of slender arms wind around her waist, and Flora rested her head on Bloom's left shoulder. "You have been my roommate for several years. You're one of the few people in my life that I trust completely. I love you Bloom. I loved you way before all of this and I always will love you sweetie."
Bloom turned around in Flora's arms to look at her friend, revealing the tears streaming down her face. "Don't cry dear." Flora said as she wiped away the redhead's tears.
"What about Helia?" Bloom croaked out.
"I'll share a secret with you. Helia thinks you're hot." Flora said, emphasizing hot. Both girls broke out into giggles. "I'm sure he wouldn't mind sharing." Flora continued between giggling fits.
"So, will you be my girlfriend?" Bloom asked with a grin on her face. "Of course Bloom, I'll be your girlfriend." Flora answered.
"Thank you so much Flora. I love you." Bloom said looking into Flora's jade eyes. "You never have to thank me sweetie." Flora replied. Bloom slowly leaned her head towards Flora, and the flower fairy reciprocated. Their lips meet half way and they shared a soft kiss.
The kisses were beginning to become more passionate when someone knocked on the door. The new lovers separated and Bloom went to answer the door. Bloom opened the door to reveal Aela holding a tray of scrambled eggs and bacon.
"Thank goodness you're here, I'm starving!" Bloom explained as she lead Aela into the room. Once she saw Flora and Bloom's improved mood she put the clues together.
"So Bloom, have you..." Aela started to ask, but Bloom interrupted. "Yes, we've worked it out."
"That's good. It's best that you work these things out." Aela said as she set Bloom's breakfast on the table. Bloom quickly moved to sit down and start eating her food.
"Thank you Aela, for everything." Bloom said.
"It's I that should thank you for everything." Aela said as she lightly squeezed Bloom's shoulder.
As Bloom continued to eat her food there was another knock at the door. Aela opened the door to reveal Skjor and Musa, both with worried looks on their faces.
"We have a problem." Skjor said, gaining the attention of everyone in the room.
"Sky is here." Musa finished. Hearing his name made Bloom fill with rage and despair. Flora, noticing Bloom's reaction, quickly moved to envelop Bloom in a loving hug.
"You don't have to see him sweetie." Flora whispered into her ear.
"No, I need to do this. I need to know if it's truly over." Bloom said as she stood from her chair. Wincing slightly at her wounded shoulder, Bloom left to follow Skjor and Musa towards the quad.
Bloom entered the quad to see the front gates being guarded by Faragonda, the Winx, and her parents. The rest of her family were waiting by the fountain. Bloom moved towards them with the small group. Seeing Bloom approaching, Kodlak moved to great the young werewolf.
"Bloom dear, it's good to see you well." Kodlak said as the two groups met at the fountain.
"And it's good to see you well Kodlak." Bloom replied. She then turned towards the gate.
Noticing her shift of attention, Vilkas spoke up. "He showed up on his leva-bike a few minutes ago. Your father was the first to take action in blocking his entrance to the campus, shortly followed by the rest. Kodlak was concerned that our presence might escalate matters, so we're waiting here in case we are needed."
"That seems wise considering everything." Aela comented.
"Thank you for being here, and it is the best action." Bloom said as she started making her way to the gate. Aela and Skjor stayed with their family while Flora and Musa followed Bloom. As Bloom got closer to the gate she could here the argument that was going on.
"Let me in, I need to talk to Bloom!" Sky exclaimed in frustration.
"After what you did in the clearing, you'll never see my daughter again!" Oritel responded, anger seeping through every word.
"You can't keep me out of the school. You have no authority here." Sky said.
"You are a threat to my daughter and hence a threat to my kingdom. That gives me authority to take what ever means necessary to protect her." Oritel responded, motioning to his sword to imply that he's willing and ready to fight.
Sky was about to speak again, but something pulled his attention beyond Oritel. He turned around to see Bloom walking towards them with Flora and Musa. Oritel immediately turned towards Sky and drew his sword. "One false move and I kill you here."
Bloom came up behind her father and placed her hand over his sword hand. "It's okay daddy." Oritel only relaxed a little.
"Are you sure Bloom?"
"Yeah, I'm sure. More violence won't help." Bloom said solemnly. Bloom then turned to Sky.
"Why?" Bloom asked.
"There was no other choice." Sky said.
"No other choice? That's your answer? No other choice besides killing my family in front of me and trying to kill me?" Bloom asked tears welling in her eyes.
"I..."
"NO! You gave your answer. That's all I needed. I know now, that there's no hope in saving our relationship." Bloom cried as she walked up to him. Bloom reaches and pulls her engagement ring off of her finger.
"You were my love, my world, my life. You were the last one I ever thought would abandon me. I loved you with all my heart, so much that I would rule with you instead on inheriting the throne I worked so hard to bring back from Obsidian. If this is where you stand, then I never new you. You are not the man I fell in love with." Bloom gently grabbed Sky's hand and placed the ring in his hand.
Sky stared at the ring in disbelief. He finally tore his sight from it and looked at Bloom again, tears still streaming down her face.
"Goodbye Sky. This is the end. Now leave, I don't want to see you." Bloom said as she turned away.
Flora immediately ran forward to console her friend. "It'll be alright sweetie."
"I know Flora. I just want to go lay down." Bloom replied as the two made their way back to her room in the infirmary.
"Would you feel better if I cuddled with you?" Flora asked playfully as she tried to wipe away Bloom's tears. "Of course I would Flora." Bloom answered.
Oritel is the last one at the gate. Sky remains there, staring at the ring.
"I didn't expect this." Sky said aloud, but I didn't seem directed at Oritel. "All I wanted was to avenge Alyssa, and once again werewolves have ruined my life."
"Go home Sky." Oritel said as he sheathed his sword. "It's over."
"I guess it is." Sky mumbles in defeat. Both men turn and head their separate ways.
Oritel passes through the gate which closes shortly after. Miriam and Faragonda are waiting for him near the fountain. As Oritel joins them, the three see a leva-bike riding off into the distance.
"Do you think this is really over?" Miriam asks, obviously worried for their daughter.
"No, I doubt it is. Not while Sky still holds that hatred in his heart." Faragonda said.
"At least we have a little time for Bloom to relax and recover." Oritel said as he turned towards his wife. He reaches out and grasps her hand gently.
"Let's go check on her. I saw her heading back to the infirmary with Flora." Miriam said as the couple started heading that way.
Bloom and Flora are laying together on Bloom's bed in her room at the infirmary. Bloom's back is up against Flora who is holding her close, slowly stroking Bloom's hair.
"How are you feeling sweetie?" Flora asked as she continued to gently pet Bloom's hair.
"It hurts so much, to realize that the man you've loved for years isn't the person you thought he was. But I think I would be a lot worse with out you, without everyone's support." Bloom said, leaning back to cuddle closer to Flora.
"We'll always be here for you Bloom." Flora said as she tilted Bloom's head back, then leaned in to kiss her. Bloom quickly reciprocated the kiss, responding with as much passion as she could muster.
There was a knock on the door. "Why are we always being interrupted just as it's getting good?" Bloom asked. "I dunno sweetie." Flora replied. They both heard a voice beyond the door.
"Bloom dear? It's me and your father. Can we come in?" Miriam asked. Bloom responded, "Come in." Miriam gently opened the door, and as she entered she noticed Flora laying next to her daughter.
"Oh, I'm sorry if I'm interrupting. We just wanted to make sure you were alright."
"I think I'm okay." Bloom answered.
Oritel stood behind his wife when he decided to speak up. "So Bloom, can we assume that miss Flora is the one you imprinted on?"
Bloom and Flora both blushed at Oritel's comment.
"Come on dear, let's let the two rest." Miriam said as she smiled towards her daughter. Oritel made his way out, but Miriam quickly dashed over to the two girls.
"Do try not to stay up to late girls." Miriam joked, making both girls blush even more, then made her way out of the room.
"Goodnight Mom, give Dad my love." Bloom called after her before Miriam closed the door behind her.
Bloom quickly turned back and started nibbling on Flora's neck, enticing a moan from the nature fairy. "I love you my Soft Flower." Bloom said.
"I love you too Little Dragon." Flora replied as she pulled her girlfriend in for another long, passionate kiss.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: Well it has been a while. Flora has accepted Bloom's new love for her and officially left Sky. I promise, I will finish all of my stories eventually. It's just finding the time and will to write it all out. This story is almost over, and I hope to finish it here soon.
