Chapter 15
"You love me?"
"I wished i didn't, believe me. But from the moment I met you i knew you were different. You're not like the other men of the world, and when i found out why… it didn't scare me. It, intrigued me." She smiled softly.
"You don't know what you are talking about." he said coldly. "You don't know what i'm capable of."
"But you know what I am. I put a bullet through an innocent woman's head last night for you. To protect you. You're not a monster Oliver, and you didn't start out this way. You were just an innocent little boy and this world chewed you up and spat you out. And this is what you have become." Sympathy poured from her.
His eyes were empty "I thought you would be the one, who could finally understand."
"I do understand!" She grabbed his hand.
"You don't." He looked away. "You'll abandon me just like the others."
"Oliver, I know what happened to you." he looked up. "I know about the orphanage, the institutional environment, the cold clinical abuse you must have suffered. All you must have ever wanted is for someone to love you. Everyone deserves a mother's unconditional love, and i'm willing to give you that."
He gazed into her warm loving soul with his dark twisted one. "All i ever wanted was a mother's love, skin to skin contact. Evangeline, I knew you were the one. I just never believe you would live to see it."
Tears escaped from his eyes. She got onto the bed and cradled him in her arms. He nestled in, feeling the warmth of her skin on his. He felt the softness of her breasts supporting his head as he closed his eyes and inhaled her scent. She caressed his cheek.
"You rest now baby." she cooed.
"Stay with me."
"I can't. I need to go back to my home, sort some things out."
"But you need to stay." he said forcefully. "How can i recover without you here?"
"Do not guilt trip me Oliver, I'll be back in a couple of hours and if you're feeling up to it we could start planning out your recovery program. But only if you're feeling up to it."
"Fine." He said walking into his bathroom. Eva sighed and looked down at the 2 large bloodstains on the living room floor. One his, one hers. His shoulder was still hurting him but she knew he would clean it. Eva needed her files she had collected on Thredson the past couple of days. She needed as much information as she could get to help him through his affliction. But she knew it was not going to be easy.
