Chapter 4 - World that twists around you.
Naruto felt the pain of huge amounts of chakra being drained from his impossibly large reserves, as he did the many thousands or ornate, intricate and obviously painstakingly designed symbols began to glow green, as he pulled both of his hands away from the huge stone structure that was the portal gateway, he heard the sounds of massive objects moving beneath him.
"It seems that there is more to this gateway than what is here on this level" the 7th thought.
Kakashi had moved up to stand beside him.
"Naruto, this is a fools game, stop this now, you have no idea what your opening up here"
"I thought i told you to go back and report my intentions to Shikamaru, Kakashi"
Kakashi was not willing to quit so easily, why could Naruto not understand that even if he finds peacetime boring, to many millions of others its the realizeation of a nearly thousand year dream. but at the very centre of this peace was a man so powerful that nobody would ever dare challenge it.
"Naruto, if something happens to you on the other side of this gate, the peace that we all worked so hard to attain might not survive it"
"Kakashi is over reacting, what could we possibly find that i couldn't handle" thought Naruto
"You worry too much Kakashi-sensei, ill go in poke my head around and come back"
The thunderering sonds of heavy ovjects moving below them came to a stop and the space inbetween the gate shimmered and twisted into a scene of window like clarity, on the other side there appeared to another Kakashi and a woman lying on the floor, although they appeared frozen.
"Hey look Kakashi its you, its you who sent the distress singal, im gonna go say hello,"
"I'm going for a walk, i may be some time" shouted the blonde ninja
As Naruto walked towards the portal Kakashi uncovered his sharingan once more and noticed something vital
"NARUTO, NO!" He screamed
But it was already too late Naruto had passed through the gate and Kakashi could now see him on the other side seemingly frozen, then a moment later the gate closed, what Kakashi had noticed with his sharingan that Naruto had not was that the people on the other side were not frozen at all they were simply moving very very slowly, as a mangekyou sharingan user he was an expert on space time ninjitsu and the passage of time, what they had not taken into account was that time could be moving at a different pace on the other side of the gate, as it was Naruto could spend days on the other side and by the time he returns this world could be more alien than the one he returns from.
-TWISTED WORLD
As Naruto stepped through the portal, it closed behind him, the first thing he noticed was the heavy rain against his face, this place was cold, wasnt it the middle of summer back home Naruto turned his attention to the other Kakashi he was about to flash him a beaming smile when suddenly he spoke.
"K...Kage-Sama, please forgive my failure, it was the informant she betrayed us, but I managed to track her down and capture to make sure she pays for her crimes. Please if you would I would like to conduct her execution"
Naruto watched as this Kakashi pulled his raikiri hand back ready to impale this ninja who he could now see bore a great resembalence to Kurenai, as quick as Kakashi was Naruto was qicker and his hands reflexivly moved to form the seal for a kawarimi.
Kakashi intensley bright hand hand punched though the traitor, but he instanly knew somehing was wrong, raikiri had cut through flesh, hundreds of thousands of times he knew the feeling like he knew how to breathe, in front of him was no longer the traitor but a wooden log.
Almost afraid of what he would see Kakashi looked up to see the spy now tucked firmly underneath the Kage's arm.
"Kage... i... i dont understand"
This situation had not been what Naruto was expecting, Naruto was a fairly easy going guy and most people had him pegged as an idiot most of the time, but he and the folks who knew him well enough knew that, nothing could be futher from the truth, rash and impulsive maybe but even those tendencies has been toned down for the most part, untill today at least.
Twice now in short succession this Kakashi had refered to him as the Kage,
"Correct me if im wrong, but isnt the Kage the person these folks wanted to be saved from? Does that mean that there is counterpart for myself here like there is Kakashi and Kurenai" Naruto pondered
Naruto wasnt stupid enough to believe for no reason at all that his counterpart was a good guy, he had to acertain his counterparts role in all of this before he made any move anywhere, so Naruto deiced to try and play Kakashis case of mistaken identity to his advantage.
"Tell me again Kakashi, what did i order you to do here?" Naruto gambled big, not knowing that he had any hand in Kakashis actions here at all.
Kakashi thought this was an odd question, but one answered when the Kage asked u a question wether or not Kakashi knew that the Kage already knew the answer, the Kage could well just be playing with Kakashi before he killed him voilently and slowly as per the Kages preference.
With a gulp and a lump in his throat Kakashi answered
"Sir, your orders were to come to the rebel base and destroy it, and kill any and all people that we found here, you specfically odered the attacking force to kill all that we found here as brutally as possible and to adorn the ruins with thier remains men, women and i quote "especially children""
Naruto didint like the sound of that at all, but Naruto would reserve judgement on his counterpart untill he had more information.
Kakashi had had an odd feeling about the Kage ever since he stepped through the portal, and his staying the execution of anyone was highly unusual especially for a useless pawn like that girl for the first time he dared to look him in the eyes.
"BLUE!" Kakashi's mind practically screamed
Naruto serveyed the ruins there didint seem to be a soul, nor did there seem to be any remains either, he could only acertain that the fact that he had tried to kill Kurenai meant that force he had been sent here to kill had been defeated, and quite possibly they were the ones who sent the original message.
"It seems your mission was succesfull here Kakashi" Naruto said gambling again.
"who the fuck are you? you're not the Kage" thought Kakashi
"Yes, Sir mission complete..."
"Let us return." said Naruto
No sooner had Naruto turned to leave that he heard the sound he had heart many times before, the sound of a thousand birds, in a feat of speed most unreal Kakashi had closed down the difference between them and had attempted to plunge his lightning spear through both Naruto and the unconcious Kurenai, though he was not nearly quick enough to catch the 7th Hokage. who had dodged out the way with ease and grace and his free hand he formed a seal.
Forbidden Jutsu - 5 Element Bunshin
The 5 element bunshin technique had been a jutsu that Naruto had developed after the war it crated bunshins that were not only made from each individual element, they were also imbured those those elements properties and they held those elements affinity aswell, they made for a fearsome fighting force, Naruto handed Kurenai off to the earth, water and lightning imbued bunshins.
"I dont know who you are but your impersonation of the Kage was laughable"
"Kinda hard to impersonate a person you have never met" Naruto flashed a grin
"Besides it fooled u long enough sucker" Naruto laughed
Kakashi laughed himself
"You wont be laughing for long, dont you know who i am, im going to make you pay for your bravado and the girl im going to take her back and Jiraiya's gonna show her the time of her life, i can see the video already" Kakashi said licking his lips
Naruto didint quite understand all of that particular reply.
"You really think you can beat me? you never beat me!"
" i dont know what your taling about"
Before Kakashi could ever make a move the imposter took out a kunai and swiped it towards him in an arc, and Kakshi didint need a sharingan to see that it was charged with huge amounts of wind element, the wind blade shot past him and cut out a trench into the ground a meter wide and a hundrend meters long.
Shocked Kakashi moved backwards in an attempt to crate some distance from this guy, fighting up close with a wind user wasnt smart under normal circumstances, but this guy had surely just used most of his chakra in a single move.
"what an idiot" he thought
But the imposters attack didint let up he had closed down the distance between them already with unreal speed, their kunais clashed at speed up close, Kakashi struggling to keep up, all of a sudden the Kage fake jumped away followed in quick succesion by the a bunshin that now appeared to be on fire, and had just unleashed one of the biggest fire techniques he had ever seen, the flaming fire dragon was sedate by comparison, but it wasnt moving at a speed that would prove tricky, untill the Kage appered behind the technique and a hit it with an equally large wind technique, now the combined attack was moving at break neck speed towards him, Kakashi had no choice but to use the shunshin technique to get away.
The behomoth technique crashed into the ground resulting on one of the single most devestating explosions Kakashi had ever seen, and had completey blown away the the remains of the ruins, now sourrounded by the roar of the fire and the heat, the flames illuminated what little was left of the riuns in flickering firelight, Kakashi scanned around but was unable to now find his quarry.
"this is bad" Kakashi thought
This man whoever he was had confounded Kakashi at every turn. looking left, then right, then a sickening crunch, and Kakshi was thrown across the ruins into a remaining pillar that was still standing in the ruins, looking now he could see the imposter but now he was completley different he glowed with yellow light and had black markings all over this body, Kakashi had never seen anything like it, he was sure he had just broken 5 of his ribs.
Kakashis movement was laboured now, and what he saw now had confounded him even more than before, the imposter had charged up a Rasengan and not just an ordinary one it was bigger and had blades of wind, and with a flick of the wrist it was now hurteling towards him.
There had been very very few fights since Obito had generously donated his Sharingan to him that it had been compleley useless or ineffective as hit had been today, the only thing he could do now was to use it to escape and with a circular distortion he had used kamui and was gone.
Naruto stood, sorrounded by the flames, he looked up into the the sky and what he saw made his blood run cold, there in the sky lit up by the flames was a giant orb it was a sight he could never forget for he had once seen it above Konoha after it had completly decmimnated his home.
"Nagato was here..."
Nagato was a man who Naruto wish he had known better or longer in the other world, he hoped that in this world that he might have the chance, and he only hoped that he wouldnt have to fight him again.
Kakashi reappears in dimly lit room, it was one his backup locations he had set up for exactly this eventuality, he always knew that one day it was possible that he might fail a mission, or worse yet fall into the kages bad graces for no reason other than the Kage didn't like the way his hair fell across his head, the Kage was a fickle creature so it always paid to be prepared lest he get evicirated for fuck all. The one thing that really bothered him though was if he was unable to return to Konoha his access to Jirayas snuff collection would be cut off.
Suddenly all of Kakashis internal alarms all went off, someone was here, he couldn't be, could he? Could the Kage have caught wind of his failure already, did he know where his seceret fall back locations were, the Kage was fickle but he was no fool, it wasnt beyond reason that he could know of these places. Or could it be the imposter? Whos henge was almost right but his eyes gave him away, the copy nin rememberd long ago that the Kage's eyes had once been blue, the rebels information on the Kage must be based on very old intelligence, after all few people had gotten close enough to see his eye colour and live to spill their guts about it, usually they spilled thier guts literally.
Still though, despite the henge, the imposter was powerful, very powerful, few people could could best him so quickly and easily, he had never seen any technique like the one the imposter employed, that golden cloak had increased his speed and power far beyond what he thought was possible for any ninja bar the Kage himself.
"Could he have been the Rebel leader?" Kakakshi thought to himself
Kakashi waited... and waited some more, whoever it was wasnt seeking him out. Maybe it wasnt the Kage or the imposter, the silver haired ninja gathered his courage and went to investigate, and what he found made him bust into a fit of laughter.
"Children! and to think i was actually scared" he thought
"Please sir, we didint mean to eat your food" Said the boy, who was about 13 years old
"we thought nobody lived here" Said a young girl no older than 6
"these men come to our home... the things they did to mom and dad" spoke to older one again, tears forming at the edges of his eyes.
The boy then caught a glimpse of Kakashi's forehead protector.
"K...Konoha"
the boy grabbed the younger girl by the arm he they attempted to run.
"B..Brother, whats going on"
But before the young boy could reply there was a thunk the sound of metal hitting the wooden wall behind them, suddenly there was no weight pulling her along and there was a shrill scream that piecered her ear drums, her brothers arm released its grip on her arm and fell to the ground, she scremed in horror as she realised her brother arm had been severed off. And he was now screaming in pain on the floor.
Kakashi closed in ready to put them both out of their misery, when he stopped.
"do i really have to do this anymore, there must be another way" he wondered
in a flash of thought Kakashi left the room, he returned a few moments later with a video camera and a tripod
"Who the fuck needs Jiraya..."
-well thats that, for chapter 4, sorry that the preview turned out to be the end of the chapter. but its been suffciantly beefed up imo.
