Chapter 12
Mission
Shu's POV
"Be patient my friends, I know that she'll wake up soon." Leo reminded us. I like this guy for Zola, he's protective, sweet and very caring. Even though he is busy ruling the kingdom he stll find time to visit Zola regularly. While "king" Logi is dealing with something. Matilda said that it is none of our business so why bother.
We are now having our breakfast here at the grand hall. The food here are superb! We can have everything we want! And we are treated here as guest. Meanwhile a maid came in.
"Good morning Your Highness. The king requested our guest's presence at his office after they have eaten their breakfast." She said and went out. The last we saw him was when he captured us. I felt a little uneasy, he took us three down without breaking a sweat. We're helpless without our shadows. I'm assured that Leo won't lay a finger on us because he loves our friend Zola. But Logi? One wave and we're dead. He wont even think twice because he doesn't care what will Zola say.
"Now Shu please do not be afraid. My brother just just wants to talk to you guys. He won't hurt you, if fact he needs you. Finish your meal, you'll need the energy." He smiled and we continued eating.
Few minutes later the maid returned and instructed us to clean ourselves first. Geez that royal pain! So sensitive! After that we were encorted to a large room. The guards bowed down and announced our pressence. Then the orange witch (Matilda) went out. As we entered the room none of us was fooling around unlike when we were with Leo. This King is really intimidating. His office was big and glamorous. A office really fit for a king. He was seating comfortably in the couch. There are two couches, one short where Logi is seating and longer one infront of it. At the middle was a small table with some tea and snacks set up.
"You kids really don't know the word respect huh?" He said without looking. I felt the hair stood up. We immediately bowed and Logi laughed.
"Sit down." He ordered. We followed right away. We are not in the position to object or talk back because Logi is not the same as the general we used to battle with. One wrong move and we're dead.
"Will you brats cut the act out! You can act naturally in my office. The guards are outside so no one will see your stupid attitudes." He smirked and took a cup of tea. Well that's a relieved. Guess he kinda missed us. Haha
"Good maro! I thought you're gonna get us killed with one word maro." Maru maro sighed in relief.
"Of course I can do that but not now. I still need something from you brats." He said. "Now back to business. There is something that you kids have to do." He started. We looked at each other after that.
"Why us? You have a battalion of soldiers to do that. Not to mention your scary secretary, I mean your girlfriend." Bouquet asked. I frown was seen on Logi's face.
"Matilda? My girlfriend? Who told you that and I 'll have that person beheaded at once!" Logi shouted. Bouquet hugged me. "Darling I'm scared!" She whispered.
"Well she acts like one maro." Whoo saved by the devee. Logi took a deep breath while massaging his nosebridge. "Ugh that woman. When will she ever stop her fantasies. My queen will not be pleased with her behavior." He unconsiously said. Queen? Wow never thought that Logi would like a woman. Bouquet's eyes twinkled.
"Your queen? Where is she? We haven't seen her since we got here." She asked.
"You already met her. But not officially." He gave a mysterious smile. Can't recall the time we met a woman here who is highly respected except for Matilda and Zola. But since Zola is Leo's princess that would be imposible. And don't forget the fact that they are mortal enemies. I personally saw how they almost killed each other in the past.
"Now back to our discussion, I can't entrust this mission to any of my soldiers because this is a bit personal. Your mission is to take Kluke here." He explained.
Kluke...
It's been years since we last saw her and Jiro. They left us. Can we restore our friendship now that Zola is here? My thoughts were cut by a maid who rushed in.
"Your Majesty, the Lady has awakened!"
Logi quickly stormed out and headed towards Zola's room. We followed right away.
Zola's POV
I opened my eyes and slowly stood up. Argh my head hurts! It's like I'm so drained. I tried to reach out for a glass of water. But I was too weak so it fell on the floor and broke into pieces. The noise alerted the maid outside who rushed in and went to the intercom near the headboard.
"Yes hello the lady is now awake. Please send someone to check after her." After that she faced me and bowed.
"My apologies My Lady, is there anything that I can get for you?" I tried my best to speak.
"Water." Another maid came and handed a glass of water. The first maid instructed something to the other and went out. She helped me drink it up. Ahh the liquid replenished my throat. It's like I've didn't drank water in weeks.
"Do you want to eat My Lady? We informed the king about your condition." She asked.
"No I don't need anything. I'll just wait for Logi. My condition? What happened to me?" The maid was about to answer but someone entered.
"I'll answer that My Lady. Nice to meet you. I am Dr. Mary, Dr. Darwin's assistant. I will check you and answer your concerns." And she started checking the machines on my left and did other tests. I've been unconsious for 3 weeks? I can't recall what happened before that.
"Please to do not stress yourself trying to remember things. It will gradually return.-" she was cut by a person who stormed in.
It was Logi.
He was catching his breath and and walk towards me with a smile written on his face. Dr. Mary bowed and stepped aside. I smiled back and he locked me in his strong arms.
"I missed you Zola, please don't scare me again like that." He kissed my forehead and hugged me tighter.
"Uhm is that the way on how you should greet your future sister in law? He's sweet right darling?" A familiar voice spoke.
I felt a lump on my throat. Logi immediately freed me and I saw the faces whom I longed for a long time. I tried to stand up but since I was too weak Logi helped me. They're staring at me and my tears are flowing from my eyes.
"Shu, Bouquet, Marumaro." I held my hand towards them.
I can see hesitation in their eyes. Who am I kidding? The last time we saw each other was when we fought during the great battle. And I was their enemy, I tried to hurt them, I betrayed them.
I shook my head. I was about to withdraw my hand but someone pulled it.
I slowly raised my head and saw Shu holding my hand. He hugged me and the others followed. Logi stepped back and smile at me.
"I'm sorry, please forgive me." I continued sobbing.
"It's okay Zola, we already forgave you. A long time ago. Friends?" Shu said and I nodded.
They helped me to get back to my bed.
"Now now I know you kids are excited to talk her but the Lady has to rest." Dr. Mary said and Logi called the guards to escort my friends back to their rooms. I looked at the doctor and asked.
"Where is Dr. Darwin? Why he isn't the one who's checking me?" Dr. Mary quickly excused herself leaving me and Logi inside the room.
"It's hard to explain Zola but, a lot of things happened when you were unconscious." He started. I just looked at him waiting for him to continue.
"Well when you were in coma uncle went to coreen to learn more about something. But a news came that a part of the library was intentionally burned down and uncle was nowhere to be found. I personally went there but still we never found a trace." His voice was about to crack.
Obviously Logi is not the type of person who shows his soft side. He rarely open these things to other people, even to his own brother I pulled him towards me and let his face rest of my shoulders. Dr. Roland was like his father, he took care of them when their parents died. I feel his pain because I fet the same thing when my father died.
"Everthing will be alright. I am here for you." I tried to comfort him.
Why would someone burn down the library? Who could do such a thing? The library is full of information about the past. Whoever did that wants to conceal something, but what?
