Hiatus

Alright people first of all I'd like to apologize to my readers. I realize that it's been a very long time since I've last updated but unfortunately the real world waits for no one. Between two of my friends getting married, one of those pairs getting divorced, moving out of my parents home to an entirely different state, helping my best friend through her first pregnancy and just a long list of other things I've become so busy that I just don't have the time nor motivation I once did. I still love to read, and often hang around the site in my spare time, but that time has become so exceedingly rare that just don't think I can keep up anymore. That said I don't think it's fair of me to simply leave you hanging without some form of conclusion. I myself hate not knowing what happens at the end of a story and since I don't know when I may return to finish what I started I feel that I should at least explain some things.

The basis of this story originally started out after I'd watched the movie 'Groundhog Day'. I'd wondered how the girls would react or how they may have gotten into a situation like that in the first place. Soon after I attached other concepts and built upon it from there. Basically the entire thing revolved around the idea that the girls, due to the oddity of their creation, were in fact unstable beings. The idea was that the chemical composition of their genetic makeup was actually missing key pieces and eventually over time they would become more and more unstable until ultimately breaking down by what would have been their thirteenth birthday. When the Professor found this he knowledge a secret and only brought it up once there were no more options left available.

As their eleventh birthday came and went he realized that he was quickly running out of time and resorted to drastic measures. Enlisting the help of Mojo Jojo, who's sons were in an even more precarious position than the girls, and Dick Hardly the three teamed up to find a solution. Using a, still experimental, device the professor hoped to gain more time by placing them in something similar to HIM's pocket dimensions. Unfortunately things aren't ever that easy. The device didn't work the way it was supposed to and instead created something of a time loop.

Blossom at this time, still the ever naive child, believed it her responsibility as the "oldest" to take action thus offering herself up as the test subject for the experiment. Having entered the device first she was placed into the looping time stream before the professor noticed the anomaly, which caused the device to loop single days, and readjusted it to loop single years instead. What they didn't account for was that time flowed differently in the subspace and what was only a few minutes to them was unfortunately far more to the pink puff. By the time Dick Hardly entered the device a few minutes later Blossom had lived through, what they later found, was the equivalent of nearly half a million years which had affected her mentally.

Not one to pass up opportunities Dick Hardly disregard this fact and continued anyway, choosing not to inform Mojo of the Puffs mental state. Over time, and countless failures, Dick began using more and more inhumane processes to achieve their goal which only further traumatized the already unstable girl. Eventually he found the solution to the problem in the form of combining 'alien' DNA to fill in the blanks of her genetic code. Unfortunately the process he used combined with her already delicate mental state led to her developing a split personality as a means of coping along with the hodgepodge of parts from various different alien species instead of a singular type leading to further instability as seen in previous chapters.

Mojo at first was only helping due to the fact that the Rowdy Ruff boys would soon begin the same decomposition as the girls. Uncaring of what happened as long as his boys would benefit he continued to aid Hardly in his endeavors. During this time Mojo was in charge of 'taking care' of Blossom and eventually developed an attachment to her. After some time he began to suspect his fellow scientist of foul play and found out Hardly's torturous methods thus immediately calling the tests to a close. Ashamed of himself for not having realized what was going on right beneath his nose Mojo became plagued with guilt and decided that he would spend the rest of his life trying to make up for what he had inadvertently allowed to happen.

In the process of getting back to the regular world Dick, angry at having his plans foiled, sabotaged the device as soon as he got free. The Professor attempted to stop him and somehow ended up sucked into the machine at the same time Mojo was ejected. Hardly managed to escape in the confusion as Mojo worked to get the Professor and Blossom back out. Once he managed it even more time had passed for the two who occupied the space and while it allowed Blossom the time she needed to reorient and somewhat stabilize her mental state the Professor unfortunately returned well and truly insane.

Their guardian, now carted off to the mad house, the girls were placed in the care of Ms. Bellum who, much to their surprise, was actually an alien herself. The woman who posed as the Mayors assistant was actually the equivalent of a Plumber from the Ben Ten franchise and in charge of earths quadrant of the Galaxy. Now made aware of the further reaches of the universe the girls were put in training which is what each 'run' is about.

Blossom, having already mentally aged considerably, was inducted on the spot then put in charge of her sisters training along with the policing of the surrounding area of which they lived. During this time she finds undercover allies in many of those whom were previously thought to be villains such as the Gang Green Gang, Fuzzy Lumpkins, Mojo, and many more.

As for the Rowdy Ruff Boys, thanks to HIM's intervention they did not need to undergo the process nearly as soon as the girls did and did not yet know about the existence of aliens amongst them. Mojo had managed to keep them sheltered for as long as he could and their moving to the "Backwater Town" was actually their beginning of the process as the town residents are all disguised or cross breed aliens.

As we got further into the story I'd planned for the boys to slowly figure out what was happening as Blossom and Mojo trained them up. Them having already been administered the serum that stabilized their genes during the doctors appointment. I'd also planned to have the story mostly revolve around their introduction to the world such as Boomer eventually joining the intelligence department, Butch joining Buttercup in technology and repairs (as you later found that she was in charge of Weapons and Vehicles) and Brick would eventually join Bubbles in the Mission overviews as the strategic planners of future missions.

The end goal was for them to figure out whom was importing dangerous weapons and creating the 'Rabids' which was eventually found to be Dick Hardly whom had weaseled his way into a second in command position and was attempting to usurp Ms. Bellum and eventually take over.

As for the more nit picky details Blossom was thought to be 'perfect' because she used much of her time, when not suffering bouts of insanity, in the loops learning every single thing she could. She became extremely world weary during this and while she still thinks of her sisters as the center of her existence she no longer really cares about her own wellbeing. She isn't afraid to die and is more than familiar with the darker aspects of the universe but simply became apathetic to anything that doesn't directly involve her or those she cares about. Her split personality would have been a far darker and smarter version of Berserk the Power Punk girl whom beat down on her in every way possible in hopes that she would loose the will to go on thus allowing Berserk to take control and watch the world burn. She resists though and keeps her darker half on a tight leash as often as she can.

Buttercup was made aware of what happened to her sister and feels guilty for not being there for her. She knows that her sisters been through hell and back just to help them so is far more receptive and willing to listen to the older girl. That said she also feels that her sister should rely on her more often and tends to take matters into her own hands as proven by her and Butch's escapades into the hidden factory. She's essentially Blossoms second in charge and takes over the role as leader of the Ruff's, Bubbles, and her group of friends.

Mitch is fourth in the list and actually is far more than he appears. His father, having found out his heritage, abandoned him after his grandmother died and the boy ended up living with the Puffs. His species is one of the fastest in the universe with insanity high metabolisms which is why he has to eat so often and lacks and attention span.

Brick as you'd find out actually has a reason to hate the Puffs and especially Blossom as much as he does. I'd had the idea that the two were secretly friends without anyone knowing. Blossom had made a promise to Brick which she ended up breaking as she was supposed to meet him the same day the whole time loop fiasco happened and ended up forgetting all about it. Since Blossom never showed up he ended up in a bad situation that nearly got him killed which is why he behaves so antagonistically. Having been his first friend and confidant on top of that his trust in people other than his brothers was almost irrevocably destroyed because of it. After finding out what happened to her and the risk she took not only to save her sisters but his brothers as well he eventually forgives her.

Well that's about everything I can think of at the moment. If any of you are still curious about something feel free to PM me, I don't mind answering questions you may have. I would also like to inform that while it may not be anytime soon I do hope to one day return to this story and finish up. If it doesn't happen I'm happy to at least tell you the ending so as not to leave everyone wondering.

Once again I'm sorry for cutting things short but I'd also like to thank all of you that took the time or effort to read this. You're all wonderful and I can't thank you enough for being here for this part of my life even if you weren't reviewers you all made this worth it. Thanks again and I hope to see you again one day.
