Chapter 13:

Kagome started in awe while he showed her around his enormous home. Well as lovely as it was it just didn't feel like a home, or at least somewhere she'd call home. It felt empty and even more cold then her building. Which is hard to do since she herself was a cold hearted bitch, who might I add likes to experiment for fun. But it was still very beautiful, and she had to admit he did have some style. It was more like a medieval castle on the inside but with a modern touch. Most of the rooms held neutral colors and a splash of color, which was a bit funny to her. Kagome gave a giggle catching his attention.

"What's so funny wench?" he asked stopping in front of her and she just smirked.

"Nothing I just never thought of you as the stylish home type. You seem more barbaric than anything." she joke walking past him, he glared at her but rolled his eyes and followed.

"For your information my mother designed my place, the only place I designed was my bedroom. I could care less what the rest of the house looks like." he told her opening a large door leading them into and equally large kitchen. She had to give it to his mother, she had good taste. The kitchen was like a dream come true, not that she'd tell anyone besides Sango that is. Kagome actually loved to cook but sometimes she'd get so wrapped up in her work she'd forget to eat for days until it was perfect. Looking around she walked to the patio doors and opened them. There was a huge yard considering he was out in the middle of nowhere he'd never have to worry about anyone bothering him. All in all it was a very beautiful house, but that didn't mean she was going to be moving in with him. Right now she would let him have his fun then she'd get him to take her ass back home before she sat him to death. She heard his cell go off And him throwing out a quick 'I'll be back.' Before he left to take the call.

She continued her little tour of the house stopping at an odd room. The door was more old fashioned and didn't match the house at all. Kagome was well known for being a curious woman. Well that and a sneaky, conniving bitch. Not that it mattered to her what others thought but she'd have to admit they were right. Thinking it couldn't hurt to check it out she reached slowly reaching for it, right as her hand hovered above the door knob she was grabbed by a clawed hand. Kagome looked over to the man that dared to touch her only to stare in shock. The man standing holding her arm looked a lot like Inuyasha, but was definitely not him. He was older me he held markings on his face like his older brother had. His face also held a more gentle look.

" I don't think he'd like it if you went in there young lady. He's a bit stubborn when it comes to this room." He told her letting go of her wrist. She nodded dumbly rubbing her wrist, not that he hurt her. He gave her a gentle smile.

"You must be Kagome, my son has told me much about you." He said gesturing her to follow him, she stayed silent following him trying to process what he just said. How could this man be his father? He didn't look that old, and surely not old enough to have two grown ass sons. Who might she add acted like children.

"You're his father?" She asked eyeing him as he chuckled.

"Why yes him and Sesshomaru are my only children. Not that they'd willingly to tell anyone." He answered jokingly leading them back into the kitchen where she saw Inuyasha and Sesshomaru talking with a slightly older woman. Well not much older if anything she looked maybe a few years old than herself. Inuyasha was frowning at the woman while Sesshomaru looked indifferent as always, the woman however was just smiling brightly at him. There was something a bit dangerous about that smile.

"Mom can you stop, why can't you meet her later." He whined ears falling slightly, she found it very adorable. The woman just smiled wider at him taking a sip of her tea.

"Now what kind of mother in law would I be if I didn't meet the woman my son planned to married? It's happening weather you like it or not young man now go find her and bring her to me." She told him with her smile never fell. He growled lowly at his mother.

"Why so you can judge her like some piece of meat, not happening." He said crossing his arms, his mother's smile fell into a scowl but before she could say anything his father cleared his throat.

"Now that's no way to talk to your mother, besides I think she'll like this one." He said walking in with Kagome following stopping next to him. Inuyasha sighed then placed a hand on her shoulder bringing her closer so the woman could see.

"Fine mother this is my mate Kagome. Kagome this is my mother." he said pushing her forward a bit. Kagome felt her eye twitch since he introduced her as his mate but smiled politely anyway.

"Hello." she said holding her hand out for a shake but his mother just stared at her. She put her hand down and stared back at her, this was becoming so awkward. His mother stood up and walked around her, now she felt like she was being judged like a fish.

"Hm, well I have to admit she is very pretty. What is it that you do for a living?" she asked stopping in front of her. Kagome thought about what to tell her. She was a secretary according to the government but how was she supposed to explain she was some psychotic crazy scientist in the real world. Before she could answer Inuyasha did.

"She's some crazy scientist, I told you that already mom." he said grumbling under his breath about not listening moms and what not. His father chuckled while his mom glared at him.

"I know that but I just want to see if she was going to tell me the truth." she said before turning her attention back to Kagome, who was obviously annoyed at the situation.

"Sorry about that, he's just so stubborn just like his father. But I'm sure you'll have time to get used to that with you two being destined and all." she said smiling at the face she was making.

"I wouldn't exactly say destined to be. I don't really even like him to be honest." she started making some room between them. The older woman frown and looked to her son.

"What did you do to my daughter in law?" she asked Inuyasha who frowned at his mother.

"Why did you assume it was something I did?" he questioned her crossing his arms.

"Because you always do something to mess things up. So out with it what did you do." she snapped at him. Inuyasha huffed.

"I didn't do anything!" he said throwing his hands in the air. His mother huffed and turned back to her.

"What did he do my dear. Just tell me and I'll punish him for you." she said sweetly causing Kagome to smile. But it wasn't a normal smile, it was more evil then anything. Inuyasha saw the look he was getting from her and went pale a bit.

"Don't you dare," he growled out, Kagome just smiled.

"Well dose him going all demon on me while I was in my shower deserve a punishment?" she asked faking innocence. At that moment Inuyasha lost all the color he had in his face and Sesshomaru stopped sipping on his drink. His father went dead silent and moved back some. His mother on the other hand held a blank look. She looked at him over her shoulder and he jumped.

"Oh shit." he said trying to run out the room. Too bad his mother was faster and grabbed his ear before he could get all the way out the room.

"Oh shit is right young man!" she yelled dragging him the opposite way to the backyard.

"Ow! Mom come on she's lying!" he yelled while being dragged outside while Kagome started laughing. He gave her one last glare before he was pulled out.

"I swear I'll fucking get you for this wench!" he screamed before the door was shut behind him.

Kagome couldn't stop herself from laughing, something she had been doing more than often since the half demon came into her life. She heard his father chuckle behind her. She could even see a smirk form on Sesshomaru's face.

"You know he really is going to get you back for this right." Sesshomaru stated going back to his drink.. Kagome finally stopped laughing and was catching her breath.

"Yeah, I know but he doesn't scare me." she said wiping her tears from her eyes.

"It was so worth it though, I haven't laughed this good in a long time." she added taking a seat at the island.

Sesshomaru nodded silently enjoying his brothers suffering while Inu Tashio chuckled.

"My dear if you do end up mating my son, just know you'll be very welcomed. Any woman who can get her way with him is a prize. Believe me my youngest son is too stubborn for his own good." he said patting her on the shoulder.

"Come to think of it my oldest is a bit worse than his brother." he stated hearing a small growl come from Sesshomaru. He smiled at his son ignoring his warning growl.

"Oh hush son, you know it to be true. You couldn't mate if your life depended on it." Inu Tashio joked causing Kagome to laugh again. The look on his face was one of pure murder and it was amusing.

"Father." he growled out placing his glass on the island.

"Calm down I'm just teasing you a bit pup." he said giving a wink to Kagome letting her know he was serious.

Sesshomaru rolled his eyes trying to ignore his father foolishness.

"Alright, I guess I need to go save your brother from your mother." he told him walking to the backyard. Kagome gave a small chuckle after hearing Inuyasha scream from the pain of his ear being pulled.

With the two of them left in the room, it became silent. Not an awkward silence more of an understanding that they didn't have anything to say to each other and they were okay with that. But the silence was becoming boring for her. Looking over she could see Sesshomaru checking something on his cell phone. A small thought crept into her head and it had her chuckling. Sesshomaru looked up from what he was doing to look at her. Noticing his stare she smiled. A small creepy smile.

"You know what your father said about you not being able to mate to save your life just reminded me of something." she told him, all he did was continue to stare at her as if she grew a second head.

"You know my friend Rin did say she found you very attractive." she added hoping he'd jump in on the conversation. Sighing he put his phone down.

"Why should this interest me woman?" he asked not really enjoying their little talk. She smiled again, which was giving him the creeps. Not that he'd tell anyone that.

"Well you being the oldest needs a mate soon right?" Kagome asked getting up to grab something to eat from the fridge. He narrowed his eyes at her, she just rolled her eyes.

"Oh don't give me that look, most humans know that in any demon family the oldest mates first or else they feel like they've failed or something. Point being you need a mate correct." she said taking out some lunch meat.

"Correct." he started.

"I still don't see how this is supposed to interest me, nor do I see how this is any of your concern." he told her. She finished her sandwich and looked at him.

"Look I'm just trying to help you out. My friend Rin thinks you're cute. You need a mate, coincidentally she needs a husband. I can't go into detail on why, but it seems like a win-win situation to me." just as she said that the rest of the family came back in from outside.

"What's a win-win situation?" Inuyasha asked rubbing his ears. Kagome shrugged taking her plate to the kitchen table.

"Don't worry about it, not like it matters anyway." she said sitting down, Sesshomaru stayed silent for a moment.

"Seriously what the fuck where you guys talking about." he snapped grabbing himself a beer. His mother glared at him for his use of foul language.

"Sorry, but I'm just trying to figure out what the fu-, *cough* what it is that they were talking about." he spoke clearing his throat at the look his mother gave him.

"Silence half-breed, this does not concern you." Sesshomaru said standing up.

"Like hell it doesn't!" Inuyasha sand slamming his beer down. Their mother sighed when they started growling at each other.

"Boys please don't fight, I have a big enough headache as it is." she said rubbing her temples. They both stopped growling but they continued to glare at each other. All the while Kagome had finish her sandwich.

"Okay well as nice as it's been, I think I should get back home. " she told them standing up looking at Inuyasha.

"What wench?" he asked leaning on his counter top. She just glared at him.

"Fuck you mean what? You brought me here and you'll be taking me home. Now" she said never breaking eye contact with him. If she knew anything it was that demon males hated being challenged by their mate, not that she was saying she was his. But you know it still works. Inuyasha cracked a smile.

"I do love it when you show me that little rebellious side of yours." he said taking another sip of his beer.

"I'm serious, I have work tomorrow and I'd like to get home to sort things out." she spoke crossing her arms. Inuyasha looked to the clock hanging on his wall.

"It's only a little bit after twelve, you got time." he told her causing her to glare at him.

"I do not have time, I still haven't called my bosses about the days I've been out. Sango's been covering for best she can but it has to be dealt with. Now take me home." she told him walking to the door. Inuyasha was about to come back with a smart ass remark when his father stepped in.

"Son I think it is about time that you get her back home, wouldn't want to mess with the situation anymore then you've already have." he told him not leaving any room for arguments. Rolling his eyes he grabbed his keys and followed her out the door grumbling under his breath about annoying fathers and disobedient wenches. Before they could get to the car Sesshomaru appeared next to Kagome startling her for a second.

"What?" she asked side eyeing him while getting into the car.

"This friend you were talking about. I require her contact information." he said in his normal monotone voice, but she could see the hint of interest in his eyes. Cracking a smile she wrote down Rins' number before getting in the car. Before the drove off she handed him the piece of paper.

"Just one thing you should know about her." Kagome started catching his attention.

"She's just a bit medically insane. Whelp have fun!" she finished pushing her own foot on the gas making them take off down the road. She couldn't help but laugh at the look on his face or the fact that Inuyasha was screaming about dying and what not. What could she say, today actually turned about to be a good day.

A/N; Hello guys! It's a new year meaning more updates! Yes I officially will be updating more. The only thing is that the chapters will be shorter. I will try to make them at least 1,000 words or more! I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter!
