Chapter 14;

Kagome made it home in time to meet with Sango to get her story together. Finally after the many calls and ass kissing she had to do to make sure she will have her job she got ready for bed. Deciding to skip dinner since she wasn't really hungry and the fact that the thought of all the work she had to make up was killing her.

Yawning Kagome threw off her clothes and jumped right into bed not bother to set an alarm knowing she'd be up the next day with no problems. Not that she'd ever admit it but right now she did miss Inuyasha, well at least she missed the sleep he was able to get with him here. But she would have to get used to her regular routine since she was determined to keep him as far away from her bed as she could. Even if it meant she was giving up the best sleep she's ever had. It was bad enough that he claimed her as his mate, well not physically but him telling everyone wasn't helping the situation either.

Sighing she rolled over in her bed covering her eyes. Guess it was back to the long torturous nights, closing her eyes she thought of the day she had today. It put a smile on her face. With her last thought being Inuyasha she slowly drifted into sleep. The night had passed quickly, filled with nothing but torturous dreams and nightmares. But like she and her whole life she got up early and readied for work. She had no time to delay since she needed to clear a few things up with her boss before lunch. Hopefully he buys her excuse and she still has a job. Kagome was dressed and ready by the time Sango got there to pick her up.

"Looks like someone is feeling better since you're all ready to go," Sango said pulling into the parking lot of their workplace. Kagome rolled her eyes.

"Haha. I still feel like shit but I don't have anymore time off. Hopefully he's not in a bitchy mood like usual." She said getting out of the car. Sango and her got to their desk right on time as their pain in the ass boss walked through the door. Now he was a handsome man I guess, older but not by much. Owned his own company and better yet was set for life. If you were into that kind of thing, they only issue was that he had some strange attachment to Kagome and it always gave her the creeps. Menomaru Moth was that kind of guy. The creepy and bitchy kind that would not leave her alone. He finally let up when she threatened to report him. Weird enough he was smiling like an even bigger creep than he already was.

"Good morning my lovely ladies." He said stopping in front of the receptionist desk. Kagome and Sango shivered from the look he had on his face. Although handsome he might be, the look of a murdering sociopath always came clear through when he smiled.

"Good morning Mr. Moth." They said giving a polite bow, he just waved it off.

"Now ladies we've been through this, just call me Menomaru." He said winking at them, Sango just rolled her eyes. Kagome just ignored him like always.

"Mr. Moth I'd like to speak with you about the days I was absent." Kagome said while handing her boss his schedule for the day. He waved her sentence off.

"Don't worry about it to much, I was going to invite you to lunch to discuss some other things." He told her checking over his file. Kagome felt the creepy vibe growing.

"What a nice offer sir but Sango and I have already made reservations for lunch." She told him feeling Sango's eyes one her.

"Nonsense, I won't have you wiggle your way out of this one. I happen to have some important guest coming to lunch and I need my top secretary there to wow them!" He said showing his excitement.

"But sir-"

"I won't hear anymore of it, I'll get your around 12 so we can got meet them. I'm sure Sango can go with someone, she seems to always have many friends." He told her before going into his office. Kagome groaned and flopped down in her chair.

"Great just what I need, a lunch date with Mr. Creepy." She mumbled to herself rubbing her temples, only 7 am and she already had a headache.

"At least you two won't be alone together." Sango said giving her friend a pat on the shoulder. Kagome looked at her body before sighing again.

"Yeah, I just hope this lunch goes by fast." She said booting up her computer, Sango just nodded doing the same. They had a long day ahead of them and no time to waste.

By the time 12 rolled around Kagome was feeling even worse than this morning and she still had lunch and the rest of her work day to get through. And right on cue as if to add more stress to her day, out came Menomaru from his creepy office.

"Are you ready my beautiful blossom?" He asked her smiling widely. At this point Kagome was so ready to murder her boss.

"What did we say about nicknames." She spoke giving him an icy just shrugged his shoulders.

"Let me refresh your memory, it's a form of harassment that I will report you for." She told him gather her purse for this horrendous lunch date. He put his hands up in fake surrender.

"Alright I get it, no nicknames. Shall we?" He said holding out his arms. She ignored his arm and just walked to the elevator. Menomaru grinned giving Sango a small wink before he followed after her. Sango had a bad feeling about this and decided she'd tail them just in case her best friend needed help. She ended up following them to 'Café La Maude', it was a pretty nice restaurant. Unfortunately why she couldn't get a table.

"God I hope Kagome is going to be okay." She mumbled to herself walking back to her car. As she reached out to grab the handle she felt a hand stroke her behind. Turning around Sango smacked whoever was behind her, unfortunately it wasn't someone she really wanted to see right now.

"Miroku, what are you doing here?" She questioned watching him pick himself up. He just smiled at her.

"Why my lovely Sango, I had no idea it was you." He told her realizing that wasn't helping him at this moment. He could see her face red with anger.

"So you just go around grabbing chicks butts? God I can't believe I even went out with you." She said rubbing her forehead and leaning on her car.

"Of course not my darling! It's just I thought you looked familiar, I just wanted to be sure." He said holding onto her hand, which she snatched from him.

"What are you even doing out here anyway?" She asked stuffing her hands in her coat pockets.

"Well you see we just got done with a small business gathering." He said standing up straight.

"We?"

"Inuyasha and I. He went back to discuss something. But I'd rather wait outside." He told her leaning next to her on her car. She just hm'd at him staring at 'Café La Maude', Miroku followed her eyesight.

"And what are you doing her my dearest?" He asked catching a glimpse of Kagome through the wind.

"Just following Kagome around, you know the norm." She mindlessly said scrunching her eyebrows when she saw their boss lean a bit to close to her.

"Following Kagome?" He said looking back to her.

"Yeah she was basically forced on this lunch date with our creeper boss. I was trying to follow them but getting into that restaurant is almost impossible." She grumbled not noticing the other person who stood beside her.

"Kagome was what?"

Sango gasped lightly and looked to her right. And of course there stood Inuyasha glaring at her.

"Damn." She mumbled.

"Got that right. Now what happen to Kagome?" He asked her stepping closer. Sango glared back and stood up straight.

"Calm down dog-boy. Kagome's fine. She in the restaurant over there." Sango told him pointing to 'Café La Maude'. His eyes narrowed when he saw a man put his arm around her shoulder. He started walking towards the place. Sango stepped in front of him.

"Whoa there buddy. We can't just go in there." She said stopping him from going any further.

"And why not?" He snapped.

"One being this is a business lunch, two it's almost impossible to get in and three, Kagome might just kill us." She stated crossing her arms.

"Look like it or not I'm going. I don't give a fuck what you do but there's no way in hell I'm letting some man be all over my future mate." He told her walking around her, she saw Miroku bow in apology while following him. Rolling her eyes she jogged to catch up.

"Hey! Wait for me!" She yelled catching up to them. Inuyasha smirked, he knew she'd never leave it alone.

"Alright, let's go." He said opening the door.
