ANIME ADVERTISEMENT-WATCH IT NOW OR YOU'RE MISSING OUT
I was fortunate enough to stumble across an amazing series called Soul Eater recently. It is currently my favorite anime. The animation is great, the story line is amazing, and it's just flat out hilarious. It really needs more fans too. Plus more (*cough*SoulxMaka*cough*) fanfics. So please check it out!
First person who tells me they watched it because of me (and I want a back up story to prove it. You need to tell me what happens in episode 1) gets a free drawing of a character of your choice. P: Yeah, that's right, I'm gonna try and bribe you to watch it. l:

A huge thank you to you all once again! Now, before this starts, I have a request for everyone. As a precaution, I took the Mary-Sue test for Kai, just to make sure. She got a 21, which is a borderline Sue. So if at any point Kai starts to become a Mary-Sue, give me a nice punch in the face. I won't blame you. Knock some sense into me. Once again, constructive criticism is extremely welcome! Enjoy!

The sun's rays shone through the small opening in the closet door, illuminating the small space. With a small groan, I reluctantly opened my eyes to greet the new day. Unsurprisingly, Rukia was already gone, most likely at school with Ichigo. A yawn forced itself from my mouth as I struggled to my feet. After stretching to loosen my muscles, I nudged the rest of the closet door open before leaping out.
I started to make my way out the door, only to feel a tug at my neck. My gaze moved curiously to the source of the tug. It looked like someone had tied a rope to my collar. Further inspection revealed that the rope was also tied to the foot of Ichigo's bed.
'Just what exactly…' my thoughts stopped short as I came to the obvious realization, 'they put me on a leash!?' I attempted to tug free of the rope but quickly found that my efforts were in vain. I let out a frustrated snarl as I tried chewing on the rope. Why the hell was I tied up!? After several minutes of chewing on the rope, my teeth started to become sore. In order to protect my teeth, I ceased my futile efforts to break the rope. I settled for resting my head on my paws and pouting. The hours seemed to crawl by as I waited for Ichigo and Rukia to return home.
Just when it seemed like they would never return, I heard voices outside the door.
"Now remember, be careful. She's not going to be happy." Rukia whispered. Damn straight I wasn't happy! I barked in an attempt to get them to come into the room. Soon after, two hesitant heads poked out from behind the door.
"Oh, hey Kai! We're home!" Rukia greeted cautiously. I let out a short growl and placed right front paw on the rope. I wanted to know what the hell this was about.
"It wasn't our idea! The city demanded we put you on a leash after you tackled Don Kanonji!" the short girl attempted to explain the situation. My ears perked up at this. I had completely forgotten about that incident.
"Midget here is telling the truth. The city wants you on a leash until you prove that you're a "well behaved dog."" Ichigo supported, ignoring Rukia's silent rage at the midget comment. I scowled as I realized I brought this on myself. It was foolish to act on impulse and try to stop Don Kanonji. I let out as a sigh as I decided it was best to just face the consequences of my rash decision. Of course, that didn't mean I had to be happy about it. With a small huff, I plopped onto my makeshift bed. My freedom was something very important to me, along with my pride. And being on a leash was certainly a large blow to my pride.
'Well, I might as well visit with Ichigo and Rukia for the short time they'll be here before a hollow shows up.' I thought, getting back up and walking to Rukia. She welcomed me with open arms as always, scratching my favorite spot behind my ear. Just as I was starting to relax, Rukia's cell phone went off, alerting them of the danger somewhere in Karakura. I let out a small sigh, as I knew they would be running off once again.
"Ichigo, let's go." Rukia commanded. They rushed out, leaving me behind once again. I sighed again as I watched the stars in the sky through the window. I could feel the Hollow's reiatsu, that same dark, sinister aura. I tried to locate the hollow in an attempt to work on my reiatsu skills. My eyes shot open in surprise when the hollow's reiatsu vanished.
'What the hell was that all about? There's no way Ichigo and Rukia got there that quickly…' I thought. What bothered me even more was the other strange reiatsu lingering around it. Unfortunately, this damn leash prevented me from going anywhere. I growled slightly.
'Be careful, Rukia, Ichigo.'

SLAM.
My legs scrambled to stand up at the startling loud noise. I glanced over to the source of the noise to see Ichigo back from school, standing in the doorway, a huge scowl adorning his face. I winced slightly at the feel of his angry reiatsu.
"Who the hell is that guy, and just who does he think he is!?" Ichigo muttered darkly under his breath, making his way over to the bed. He proceeded to plop onto the bed, resting his arm over his eyes. I hesitantly made my way over to the side of the bed.
"The nerve of that bastard!" He spat, clutching the sheets with his left hand. I didn't know what happened, but I did know that he needed to relax, at least for the sake of his bed sheets. I rest my head on the mattress and attempted to nudge his hand with my nose. Much to my dismay, his hand was just centimeters from my nose.
'Oh God, that means…' I hesitantly stuck my tongue out and licked his hand.
'Who knows where his hands have been!?' I couldn't help but think as my tongue made contact with his hand. He raised his arm from over his eyes and sent a sideways glance my way. His hand slowly loosened its hold on the sheets and rested on top of my head. I whimpered slightly in an attempt to convey my concern.
"Heh, sorry Kai, didn't mean to worry you." He spoke with a slight smirk on his face. I grinned in response, right before the door opened, revealing a slightly miffed Rukia. I removed my head from underneath Ichigo's hand and trotted over to her.
"Thanks for leaving me downstairs to be interrogated by your family." Rukia said before trudging over to the closet. I laughed silently in my head. There is no fate worse than being trapped in a room with Isshin Kurosaki.
"No problem." Ichigo replied, his smirk clearly showing his lack of guilt. With a huff, Rukia jumped into her closet. I waited for the click of the closet door closing but it never came. Glancing over to the closet, I saw Rukia staring at me expectantly.
"Are you coming?" She spoke, gesturing to the inside of the closet. My ears instantly perked up. She invited me in? My tail wagged enthusiastically as I ran over and leapt into the closet. She laughed slightly before closing the closet door. Without wasting any time I curled up next to her, and slowly fell asleep.

Something was very wrong.
The day started out like any other day. I woke up around noon, since there really was nothing for me to do but sleep. I cursed the damn leash once again before leaping out of the closet. My right front leg immediately protested to this as pain shot up said appendage. I had almost forgotten about that injury. I had been unconsciously avoiding stepping on that leg until now. For several hours I lounged in the sunlight coming from the window. Kon was nowhere to be found, leaving me with me, myself, and I.
Everything seemed normal, and it looked like it would be just like any other day. Then, it happened. Ichigo's and an unfamiliar reiatsu flooded my senses. The most concerning thing was the number of hollow that were appearing. Their dark reiatsu practically covered the room like a blanket. The weight of their reiatsu was almost suffocating.
"Hanging in there pup?" My head whipped around towards the source of the voice. The same black cat from the other day was sitting on Ichigo's bed. I growled slightly with my tail raised and ears pinned back. It may be like me, but it was still a stranger; a stranger who knew something about Rukia and Ichigo.
"Calm yourself, little girl. I came to make sure no hollows had come after you yet." He spoke. I assumed it was a he due to the deep voice he had. I cocked my head slightly. Why would there be hollows after me?
"You should know by now that your reiatsu attracts hollows, and with the current situation I'm surprised that there's nothing here yet. You're lucky that Rukia and Ichigo decided that your ability to see hollows is just an animal's sense. Fools." He informed me, once again circling me. It would be an understatement to say I felt nervous. It always seemed like he was sizing me up.
"How far are you in your training?" I immediately knew he was talking about becoming a human. I shook my head. In my free time I had practiced a little, but something was missing.
"It'll come to you when the time is right." I blinked, and he was gone.
'Stupid supernatural people and their fast movements...' I grumbled mentally. The news the cat brought troubled me. Judging by Ichigo's reiatsu, he was battling said hollows at the moment. From other places in the city, I could feel Inoue and Sado's reiatsu flare. There were also several unfamiliar reiatsu located in close proximity. For what seemed like the millionth time, I cursed the leash around my neck.
As my annoyed thoughts subsided, my thoughts wandered to the way the cat disappeared so quickly. If we're similar, and he can move that quickly, then there's no reason I couldn't do it, right? It was just a question of how at this point.
'C'mon Kai, use logic. Break it down,' I encouraged myself; 'The base of all movement is feet. So then that means you move the reiatsu to your feet? Well it's worth a shot…' I closed my eyes and searched for the small ball of power inside me.
'Focus!' I urged myself to continue; I couldn't give up. The white reiatsu left a warm sensation as it traveled into my paws. I opened my eyes to see a slight change in atmosphere around my feet. A smirk made its way onto my face as a sign of triumph.
'Alright, let's test my theory…' I focused on the spot across the room. Closing my eyes, I took a hesitant step forward. For less than a second, I felt a small gust of wind. When I opened my eyes, I was exactly where I wanted to be. I let out a small yip of excitement. I did it!
Before I could continue my celebration, a terrible, powerful reiatsu flooded the room. I felt my legs give out at the immense force. What on earth was out there? I leapt onto Ichigo's bed to get a good view outside. To my surprise, the sky was cracked in half, and what looked like a giant hollow was stepping out of it. I could feel the fur on my back rise in warning. It was obvious that this thing was not to be taken lightly. It was then that I started to panic. Where was Rukia? And Ichigo? Were they going to fight that thing? I could sense Ichigo and the unfamiliar reiatsu from before near the monster. Thankfully, Rukia seemed to be held back by another masked reiatsu.
'How many people in this town have reiatsu?' I couldn't help but wonder. My eyes widened as I felt Ichigo's reiatsu grow to an immeasurable amount. There was a large flash, along with a burst of reiatsu. When the light dissipated, I could see the monster retreating into the hole it had come from.
'Is Ichigo…really that strong?' I shuddered to think. A sigh of relief escaped my muzzle knowing that everything was resolved. Just when I thought it was all over, Ichigo's reiatsu flared up once again. This time, it was much higher as it had ever been before. I let out a yelp as I desperately attempted to claw at the rope around my neck. I couldn't just sit here and do nothing! Suddenly the unfamiliar reiatsu joined with Ichigo's reiatsu, slowly lowering it. I let out a sigh of relief.
'Thank goodness…' I thought, before the stress of the day finally caught up with me. Without any other thought, I collapsed onto the bed, dead asleep.

When I awoke, I found myself on my makeshift bed instead of Ichigo's bed. I was relieved to see Ichigo sound asleep and relatively unharmed. A quick glance around the room revealed Rukia standing in the middle of the room with a troubled expression on her face. I trotted over silently and whined before nudging her hand with my nose. Did she get hurt in the battle earlier?
"Oh, Kai. Sorry I was lost in thought. Let's go to bed, neh?" Rukia spoke with a smile that didn't seem to reach her eyes. I nodded hesitantly before jumping into the closet with her. I settled down in my normal spot, curled up next to her side. I started to close my eyes when I was awoken by an arm draped over me. I glanced over at Rukia curiously to see that she had her eyes closed. Part of me felt worried at this small sign of affection, but it was quickly dismissed with the thought of feeling secure and safe.
With a small sigh of happiness, I drifted into sleep.

I was once again woken by the sun's rays. With a small stretch, I hopped out of the closet. To my surprise, the sun was close to setting.
'Heh, I guess I needed some rest,' I thought contentedly, 'But that means Rukia and Ichigo are home!' As if reading my thoughts, Rukia walked into the room. I trotted over to greet her happily.
"Bakudou no Ichi. Sai!"

I think you all know what's going to happen next. Well, I'm done with school for awhile, so look for an update soon! Sorry this chapter needed to be done. Yay Kai learned Shunpo. :3
