BB: Yep, I actually have an update! I know, end of the world, right? So, I've been in a Twilight mood. This little lovely here came from the I-Pod Challenge over at Twilight Fanfiction Challenge (there's a link on my profile for you to go check out). Honestly, this whole thing was done in about a half-hour, but I'm pretty pleased with how it came out. This one is for Maria, as she gave me the song. Please read, review, and enjoy!

"I know that we are young, and I know that you may love me, but I just can't be with you like this anymore..."
"...I can't do this anymore, Edward."
His eyes were dark as he stared down at me, my hands shoved in my pocket and my eyes firmly fixed on the ground. All the time spent in that little garage in La Push made me realize just what he had put me through, and seeing him back here was the match that lit the fuse.
"Bella, you know I love you," he started, his voice taking on the soft, hypnotic tone that used to captivate me so easily. "I was only trying to do what was best for you."
I sighed, unable to count how many times he had said that before. "I love you too, Edward, but this just isn't working. You were gone, I had to make a choice...and you aren't that choice."
I started to turn away, hoping he would let me pass, when a cold grip around my arm stopped me. My head turned to look at him, and his eyes were wide, a pleading look in them.
"Edward, just let me go."
"I promise, Bella, we can make this work," he tried to reason, the pitch of his voice high in what seemed like panic. "All you have to do is listen to me, and I-"
"Listen to you?" I repeated, and I knew he immediately realized his mistake. "Edward, you aren't my dad to tell me to 'listen to you'. That isn't how things work. Being with you is like a freaking forest fire-dangerous and out of control. I'm sorry, but you need to move on, because I have."
His grip slackened enough that I could slide my arm out. Leaning up on my toes, I pressed a soft kiss to his cheek-I owed him at least that much, and pulled the pack out of my pocket.
"Those things will kill you, babe" he chuckled bitterly as I raised the cigarette to my lips. "But you know you'll always have me wrapped around your finger."
"I'm not your 'babe', so hush," I scoffed, turning on my heel towards the door. "And don't bother me anymore, okay?"
