CHAPTER TWO: Seriously (I Really Do Think We Can Get Along)- Collapsing Cities

Hikaru smiled into his textbook as Pavel stormed into their dorm, grumbling again about something Irina had done. Irina had always done something. Hikaru had never understood why Pavel kept on going out with her. He felt as though he should say something to comfort his best friend, yet all he could fully concentrate on was the way Pavel's lips moved when he spoke; the way his blue eyes sparked with anger, and the way his hair caught the late May sunlight.

"I hate it," Pavel was saying. "She makes me feel like no one else could ever want me."

"That's not true," Hikaru replied.

"Tell me then, Karu, who else would want me? Who would look at me, and think, 'There. That's him. That's the boy I want to be with.' Who?"

Hikaru surveyed him silently for a moment, then simply said, "I do," and walked out of the room. A minute later, Pavel ran out after him, calling out. Breathlessly, he caught up with him.

"I do too."

AN: So here's chapter two, once again reviews are incredibly welcome since I'm still pretty new to writing and whatnot. Chapter Three should be along soon.

(PS, Irina in this is Irina Galliulin who dated TOS Chekov while they were at the Academy.)
