Susan didn't die in a train crash but the mask that she permanently wore did.
She stopped being obsessed with going to parties and how she looked and instead held herself with composure and hidden strength of mind. Her friends quickly dropped her as she lost what made her popular but she made new friends for life.
Susan remembered herself on the day of the crash. When she died fifty years later she could only be described as Gentle.
