"What the-?" Nick said when the hunter came out of nowhere. Nick got pinned, "GET THIS THING OFF ME!" Then the weight was lifted, but the hunter wasn't dead. Nick sat up just to see all his team-mates being attcked. Luckily all of them got out of each of the holds they were in, but Nick wondered what happened to the hunter that got him. "...a little help over here!" he heard someone yell. Nick turned to see Jesse being helped up by Ellis. She shook herself, "Damn hunters...thanks Ellis," she limped by Nick, "and your welcome." Nick realized that the hunter got off him and went for Jesse, "Oh, uh, thanks..." he said. Unfourtunatly no one had a health pack or pills. "Damn...I am a bit messed up here..." she semi-strained.
They made it throught half-way through the sugar mill without pissing off any witches. All of a sudden there was a witch scream. Jesse turned to see a witch only feet away from Nick, " Damn it, NICK!" He braced himself only to have landed on his hands and knees. he looked up, "The hell...?" He went wide-eyed when he saw who took the witch for him: Jesse. Nick ran over to the witch and shot her with ever last bullet in that one round. He ran over to Jesse, who was cut to shreds, bleeding everywhere. He picked her up, bridal-style, "J-Jess, you'll be okay. W-we'll get you to the safe house, a-and patch you up and you'll be fine." Nick had the most worried and scared look on his face. Nick got a good grip on her, "Guys, cover me, I need to get Jesse to the safe room before she bleeds out!" Nick yelled to his team-mates. Rochelle nodded, "no problem Nick." Nick then picked up major speed to the safe room.
Nick kicked open the safe house door, ran inside and closed it, but left it unlocked for his team-mates so far behind. He carried Jesse to the lower level of the house, "N-nick *bloody cough* just s-stop..." she said weakly. Nick looked at her, "W-what...? J-Jesse, i have to-" she cut him off, "No *more bloody cough* N-Nick...Y-you don't. I-i'm not go-*blood cough*-gonna m-make it, so-" tears slowly welled up in Nick's eyes, "No, Dammit, dont talk like that! I'll heal you and y-you'll be fine..." she wheezed and coughed much more blood up, "N-no...I wont. I-I'm sorry, but i-i wont make it...I-i'm sorry." a single tear rolled down Nick's cheek and onto Jesse's face."No...I-i'm sorry...it's my fault...I-i didn't get you here quick enough...I pissed the witch off... that hunter went for you instead of me when it shouldn't have... all of thisis my fault..." he choked. "Nick...stop...p-please. Its not y-your fault..." They looked in each other's eyes "Nick..." Nick looked at her as more tears welled up, "yeah?" he whispered. "T-thanks... i'm s-sorry for all the shit i-i said to you. Thank you f-for putting up with m-me." she strained. One more tear went from Nick to Jesse. "I never out up with you...y-you were just being...you. The you that I can't go throught without in this hell-hole..." she squinted her eyes, "I...i-i'm so sorry..." she smiled on last time boeor she paled and went limp in Nick's arms. Nick's eyes went wide with welled up tears in them, "J-Jess...?" Nothing, "Jesse...J-Jesse, god no...," Nick let the tears in his eyes flow freely now, " Please...Please wake up...wake up, for the love of God...Please...," he balled," JESSE PLEASE WAKE UP!"
