Ch.5 Hiruko

Deo/N: Yes, I adopted a new name, and it's going to stay. I did like my previous name, but ever since I created this name I don't ever want to change it. Sorry I've been away from this for so long, it's just that I nearly lost all motivation for these unfinished stories ever since my old laptop with all my updated chapters decided to not work. I recently got internet back and I've been on and off every now and then, and since I got my new iPod I wanted to finish this story on that, but that got deleted when I wanted to see what would happen if I pushed the back button. . . now I know. So I got online on my laptop and downloaded all my unfinished stories and I'm going to finish them. Now where did I leave off? Ah, yes. Great reviews that inspired me to get back into story telling. Here we go~

My room was filled with puppets, puppets that have their own name, and personality. Guess I've been kind of lonely ever since I join Akatsuki. 'Should have asked about this, then maybe Andrew and Cane would still be with me.' I felt hallow, life only sparked when I'm with my puppets, either making them, repairing them or bringing them to life.

"Hello, how are you," I said to a particular puppet I called Hiruko. So far this was my favorite, it looked like a scorpion. I admired him for a moment, but to anyone else it probably looked like I was waiting for an answer.

"Who's the pincushion?" I heard Orochimaru yelp when he heard a different voice in the room.

"His name is, Orochimaru. Be nice." I said and stood up. I walked it with it's strings, the puppet only grunted.

"Is that thing alive?" Orochimaru asked timidly.

"Well-" I started, the puppet looked up at the other man.

"Of course I'm alive! How about I turn you into a pincushion?" he raised his tail as a threat.

"Enough, obviously you're not ready to go out in public yet. Go sit back down and keep the others company." I made it look like the puppet walked back into place on it's own, and the look Orochimaru had was priceless and well worth it. But seriously, I need new friends. Cane still shared the room with me, but I haven't seen him since he left me at the table when he saw the ring. This brought the empty feeling back, I put the strings in their place and walked out, other voices from the room said 'Have a good day,' as I walked out and locked the door. The taller man beside me shuddered. "They're harmless, enough." I said and walked down the hall.

"I can't understand how you can be in that room with all those. . . I don't want to say puppets." Orochimaru said.

"I made them, it's only natural that I'm around them." I simply stated. We walked to our classes and met up for lunch. This routine was familiar, it felt safe, and we kept to it. We haven't seen much of the others, they text every now and then, about meetings, mainly, or just saying 'Hi' as a routine check up. Most of the time we were given missions, it's mainly gathering information, shadowing someone, occasional threats, or possible future recruits. I walked to the usual table, but I didn't see any sign of Orochimaru there. It didn't bother me, he was probably running a little late. But, then why didn't he text me saying so? My grip tightened on my tray but I sat down anyways. 'He's probably writing me now.' I thought and started on my food. Half done my food and Orochimaru finally shows up, but he brought someone with him.

"Sasori, this is Kabuto!" Orochimaru said happily. My eye twitched with the absents of the suffix he used for me. I scoffed and picked up my tray and left. 'How dare he disrespect me.' I thought dropping my tray off and walked out of the room. 'Next thing you'll know he's never around. Or worse. LATE.' I scowled, causing people to back away from me more then they normally would. Good, because I don't feel like getting time for uncountable counts of murder. I soon got a text from Leader-sama saying that we have a meeting now. I immediately went to the meeting spot and sat down. Orochimaru shouldn't be that far behind me. I saw, Itachi, Juzo, Kakuzu, Konan, Leader-sama, and Zetsu there. I started to wonder where everyone else went.

"They had to leave the University. Personal matters." Leader-sama said. I only nodded. "Where is your partner?" he asked.

"He should be behind me," I said and took out my cell and text him to get his ass over here. No immediate response. Now I'm starting to get pissed. "First the name, now this?" I said lowly. I wanted to get up and drag his sorry behind here.

"He's coming," I relaxed a bit at Itachi's comment. I didn't even bother asking how he does it, he never answers. A few moments later and Orochimaru is in the door panting heavily.

"S-sorry, hah, got caught up in something else," Orochimaru was flushed and out of breath. He sat down, but not beside me. Just as well I might have killed him. Although he was sitting closer to Itachi. Just then an old conversation appeared.

'He..takes little boys,' Cane said, 'He is currently after, a kid named, Uchiha Itachi, he's only in middle, but is gradually rising to the University level.'

'Hm, hope to meet him one day, Itachi,' I said, more to myself then to, Cane.

'You will, heard he was coming here, that is why, Orochimaru is here.'

I waited patiently for the meeting to start, I felt all eyes on me, probably seeing what I'll do next.

"I'll deal with him later," I said coldly, and then the meeting began. Juzo was transferring to a different university to finish his studies so we all had to be on a look out for Itachi's new partner. I immediately put in my two cents in. "I hear that Hoshigaki Kisame is pretty good."

"Interesting choice, we also have to look for a new partner for Kakuzu. Details are a. . . little sketchy." Leader-sama said. I also knew this one.

"Hidan-" me and Itachi said together. Guess I wasn't the only one thinking the same thing. I let Itachi finish. "He'll be a good member, despite his-" I knew Itachi as a goody-two shoe so he won't be saying the rest of that.

"Foul behavior and mouth. Ideally the two are perfect for each other." I finished. Leader-sama nodded and dismissed the meeting. Orochimaru immediately ran away. I got up slowly and walked out, why give chase when I can save my energy for more important things. Orochimaru was a good runner and I knew where he would stop at. So I waited.
