Eight: Oh no! My Modeling Career is Ruined!
Tim Drake was struggling to not get noticed by anyone from trying to find some actual clothes to wear instead of walking around in just his Robin costume in public. He managed to problem solve it out by taking off his Kevlar and placing it in his locker with barely noise.
So he was currently walking around with no shirt on but his pants he could keep on and boot but everything was left on.
"Where the hell are some clothes I can take?" he muttered under his breath and glanced around at the lockers, hoping it was one he could grab a sweatshirt or something else to cover up his muscles.
"Did you try to boys' locker room by any chance?"
Jason's voice caused Tim to jump a little from his voice and he turned to face him but almost let another cry out.
Jason's face was now covered in what seemed to be burned marks with scaring across the right side of his face and especially his throat. Tim paled at the sight of this and Jason took notice of his reaction, sighing at this.
"I know. My figure is completely ruined from modelling ever again." Jason said with a smirk now on his face to lighten up the mood. Tim gulped before looking back to the ground and headed to the boys' locker room.
"Seriously," he whispered as the second Robin floated behind him, "Where the hell did you go to when we switched back places?"
"I traveled to Ra's al Ghul's place and swam in his pool for a little bit. It wasn't the greatest swim in the world but as you can tell the chlorine irritated my face." He joked again and Tim wanted to growl at his predecessor for his incomplete answer.
"Stop joking around, Jason. I need to find a shirt before the bell rings for I could get caught. People will make connections to Robin." He hissed back and then a raging headache pounded against his skull. Jason frowned at the Third Robin's expression of pain then reached out to grab him but jerked back at the thought of switching bodies again especially since what happened afterwards.
"Are you alright, kid?" He asked and Tim blinked before darkness approached his vision and the only thing he could see was someone screaming with the black inky substance coming from out of someone's mouth. Jason opened his mouth to say something before Tim's head went limp and Jason gulped at this.
"Uh…kid?" he questioned before Tim collapsed to the ground. He swore and moved to the limp body of Tim Drake, looking around wildly.
Damn it, what the hell can I do without having to switch places with him? Jason thought and then a crazy idea popped into his head. He sighed and looked around then floated to the cell phone Tim kept in his pocket.
He heard rumor that ghosts can communicate through TVs but he wasn't sure about telephones yet it was the only to contact help without anyone finding out about Tim's identity as Robin. He whispered a quick prayer that it would work before diving towards the electronic device and everything went black for a second.
Jason quickly opened his eyes and glanced around to see a list of names, numbers, and information floating around him. He grinned at this before moving towards one name that he knew that he could trust Robin being saved by. He reached towards it then without any other say he pulled up the number, where it connected to the name, and his fingers inched towards them before being zapped away to the actual user of the cell phone: Bart Allen.
He was groggy and everything seemed to hurt. One of his eyes seemed swollen shut while the other could identify himself in an abandoned building from the random unmarked barrels, piles of wooden planks rotten away on the ground, and some gasoil cans placed at close range from his body. He groaned and tried to move but too much pain flooded his muscles.
Then something knocked against his chest and his eyes grew wide at the pain and spat out blood from the attack. He coughed in agony and black hair fell in front of his eyes while something kicked him over. He looked up to see a purple suit flow on the body of his attacker along with bleach white skin move to grasp a crowbar. As his gaze went further up to his attacker, instantly from the chemical exposed green hair and malicious Glasgow smile outlined in crimson.
"Wow. That looks like it really hurt." The Joker said and patted the crowbar against his hand as if he were a dad beating his son with a belt. He could feel himself pale and watched as his grin went even wide then moved the crowbar up again, slamming it against his body. He grunted as more pain crossed his body and moved a couple more blows on his body. He rolled around from the attacks then landed face up to the Joker, panting for breath.
"Whoa, now, hang on. That looked like it hurt a lot more. So, let's try to clear this up, okay, pumpkin? What hurts more? A?" he said and his eyes grew even wider, now knowing that he would attack again. The crowbar smacked down on his chest, losing his breath, and felt something must have broken from his ribs.
"Or B?" he asked again now hitting his spine from laying on his side and he grunted out again.
"Forehead?" he questioned him and raised the crowbar high hitting yet again.
"Or backhand?" he said and knocked him again, wincing from the pain as the Joker's laughter echoed around the building. He groaned and twitched at this, coughing out more blood. He looked towards the Clown Prince of Crime and mumbled out something between his lips, trying to mock the Joker that he would come.
The Joker mocked him and grasped his hair so he could pretend to hear him, "A little louder, lamb chop. I think you have a collapsed lung. That always impede the oratory."
He glared him before managing to spit on his face, splashing it red from his blood. The Joker frowned at this then slammed his face into the ground. Teeth shifted around in his mouth and the copper taste of blood tanged his tongue.
"Now, that was rude! The first Boy Blunder had some manners." He said and pulled out a handkerchief, wiping the spit and blood away. He looked up to him and smiled, blood spilled between his teeth and some missing also.
"I suppose I'm going to have to teach you a lesson so you can better follow in his footsteps." He said and paused then smiled at this, "Nah. I'm just gonna keep beating you with this crowbar."
He pushed his shoe down hard on his face with his laughter echoing around the two again. He looked up to the Joker with hate filled eyes then closed it yet again as he knew more torture would go on.
Bart Allen sat in class, unsure why he was even there when he could do so much more cooler things such as experience more different types of food, travel the world before most of it had turned into rubble or even go bother one of his 21st century friends. He sighed and looked out the window as the teacher blabbed on about the biological compounds of a human.
Suddenly Jason Deluro's "Talk Dirty to Me" erupted from his cell phone in his pocket and everyone in the class turned towards him. His face burned bright red before making off the excuse that it was his guardians.
Dashing out of the school wasn't at all since he is a speedster once known as Impulse but now as Kid Flash.
He clicked answer without even checking out the number as he placed it to his ear.
"Hello?" he asked before some static greeted him and he raised a questioning eyebrow at this, "Uh…hello?"
"Kid Flash, correct?"
He gulped at this and opened his mouth to joke about it until the caller said, "Never mind, listen to me, kid. Robin is down at his school and you're the only one I can count on to save him from having his secret identity being given away."
"What the heck are you talking about? Robin? Kid Flash? You must be joking-" he began to argue then more static was picked up from the device.
"God damn it, this would be a hell lot easier if I could use a TV to show you." The voice said and Bart raised an eyebrow at this, "How about this. Do you know the name, Jason Todd?"
Bart's eyes grew wide at this, knowing exactly who Jason Todd was from his superhero history.
"Yes…" he answered and then voice paused for a moment.
"Do you known what he looks like?" the voice now asked and Bart flashed back to a memorial of a Robin at Mount Justice.
"Yes but exactly are you truly to prove or say to convince me 'Kid Flash' to go help 'Robin'?" he now asked instead and the voice growled at this, a loud static noise blaring in his ears.
"Let your freakin' phone show you a hologram of me then you'll understand, dipshit!" the voice yelled and he gulped at this then removed it from his ear, pointing it to the ground. Suddenly a hologram of Jason, at the height of five six and looked like how he was when he first greeted Tim this morning.
He screamed like a little girl at the sight of him and jumped away.
"Am I that scary looking?" Jason questioned and Bart opened his mouth then closed it quickly.
"No! It's just I didn't actually think that you would be Jason Todd since he, you know, died. So are you like his spirt or something else like a poltergeist? Oh! That's actually a movie I saw with Tim and Gar! It was actually pretty scary from what I heard about it from them!" Bart started to blab and Jason's eyebrow twitched at this, not having the best relationship to speedster unlike his predecessor or and successor.
"Kid! Be quiet for one second and let me explain what I want you to do!" he snarled and Bart blinked at his angry tone then nodded at this. Jason took a depth breath and rang a hand through his hair as the hologram flexed a little at this.
"I need you to go grab Robin from his school before he gets found as his secret identity." He began then suddenly Bart started running towards the school at high speeds, with Jason's hologram fazed from his speed.
Then out of nowhere he passed by the doors of Gotham High and took notice of Tim Drake on the floor in some sort of daze. Bart slide to stop and stared at the unconscious Robin, pulling the hologram back up with confusion and anger written over Jason's face.
"Let me finish next time before you go rushing somewhere!" he snarled at him and Bart winced at this before nodding at this.
"Sorry but you first said he was in trouble my leg started racing here without another thought. Now what else do you want to do?" Bart asked and Jason sighed at this.
"Anyway, you know his secret identity so do you mind bringing him to Wayne Manor?" Jason suggested and Bart thought for a second before nodding at this. He grabbed Tm and pushed him on his back as if he were giving him a piggy back ride.
"Ok! Off we go!" Bart exclaimed as he raced off towards the Manor without another say from Jason.
Bruce Wayne sat at the edge of his bedframe with his hands clamped together and eyes narrowed. He thought about the strange behavior problems Tim was imitating and affecting his job as Robin. He sighed and got up, stretching his back.
"Master Bruce, your coffee is on the dining room table along with the newspaper." Alfred said through the other side of the door and then a loud doorbell echoed throughout the household. Bruce narrowed his eyes at this before Alfred announced, "I shall go greet the guests, Master Bruce. If you need anything else, don't help but call."
Alfred walked away from the door and glided down the staircase. He unlocked a few latches from the main door entrance and opened his mouth to speak before Bart Allen exploded out, "Can we go to the Bat Cave to talk?"
Alfred blinked at this then nodded slowly at this and Bart smiled at this before Alfred welcomed the teen in, glancing around to see if Bruce happened to move down the stairs and see an unconscious Tim and hologram projected Jason. He rushed them through the door and shut it quietly but stopped when Bruce called out from his quarter, "Who was there, Alfred?"
"Some publicity asking about when you are planning on talking about Master Dick being on the force." Alfred called back and Bruce sighed from upstairs about it.
"Did you tell them I am planning on doing that as a celebration for another party?" he replied and Alfred looked to the boys, urging them towards where the secret entrance for the Bat Cave was.
"I did indeed, Master Bruce." He said then quietly rushed them to the bookcase, pulling out one book that realized both a staircase and elevator to have them reach the Bat Cave. The elevator opened up and they all squeezed in together with the door shutting.
"What exactly happened to Master Timothy?" Alfred asked Bart.
"He fell unconscious for no reason. We started talking about him finding some clothes since he needed to change them because he only had his Robin uniform on. Then he winced in pain and I was going to try and help but I didn't want to take possession of his body again since from our prior experience brought up these scars." Jason replied and Alfred frowned at thisbefore the elevator door opened.
"And he came to me to go get Tim before someone found out who Tim's alter ego was." Bart also said and Alfred walked over to a medic bed, where Bart placed him down on. Jason frowned at this and then scowled.
"This is all my fault." He said and clenched his fists, "If I hadn't at all accidentally possessed him the first time, then none of this would have happened."
Bart and Alfred paled at this and their eyes widen. Bart gulped at this and looked away from the hologram then to Tim.
"Have you possessed Master Timothy in front of other members of Young Justice or the Justice League, Master Jason?" Alfred asked as he began to check up on Tim and Jon bite his lip.
"At the hospital, I was pulled into Tim's body and said stuff to Dick for questioning Tim. I was trying to protect him." He said and Bart blinked at this.
"That was you?! We all thought Tim went crazy for going after Nightwing like that! No one ever goes against him! But from textbooks, it does state you are the most rebellious out of all of the Bat family!" Bart exclaimed and one word caught Jason off guard for a second.
"Are?" he questioned the speedster and Bart's eyes widen slightly but laughed a little at this, running his fingers through his hair.
"Sorry, guess my wording is off." He said and Jason narrowed his eyes at this, already telling that he was hiding something from them all.
"Alfred, do you mind running a blood test on some blood Tim collected for a special case?" Jason asked as Alfred placed a blanket on top of Tim, covering him up. He turned to Jason and nodded at the request.
"Of course, Master Jason, but where is the vial of blood?" Alfred asked and Jason thought about before thinking about it.
"I think it's in one of his pockets." He said and Alfred then started picking through the pockets before finding the vial, staring at the contents then turned towards Jason.
"Whose blood is this, Master Jason?" he asked and Jason scowled at this.
"It's either a mine or a clone of me." He replied and Alfred's eyes widen at it.
"A clone of you? But wait a minute, Master Jason, where exactly did you get the blood from?" he questioned the fallen Robin and Jason sighed.
"He dug up my grave and opened up my coffin to snatch a vial of blood from my body to see if Ra's al Ghul is planning on resurrecting me." Jason stated and Alfred's eyes almost seemed like they were bugged out of his head.
"Why in God's name would he want to resurrect you, Master Jason?" Alfred asked as he moved towards the computer, pressing a couple of buttons before a small disc like component opened up and he drew the blood on the clear surface of it. Jason shrugged his shoulders at this and looked around the Bat Cave.
"I don't know since he didn't kill me." Jason stated before finding his gaze on an old, worn up, tarred, and burned Robin uniform. Parts of the shelve were ripped apart while the boots, caked in mud and dirt meanwhile the R on the uniform was ready to fall off and crisp around the edges. His grew incredibly large at the sight of his own uniform cased up in the Bat Cave and his hologram began to flex as strong blasts of emotions cursed through his body: sorrow, disappointment, and RAGE.
Suddenly everything in his vision was coated with black ink by the sight of his old suit glazing back at him with ANGER.
"Master Jason?" Alfred questioned before the hologram completely disappeared of him and Bart gulped at this, glancing around everywhere.
"Uh, are you ok?" Bart asked and then the hologram popped back up with Jason's head facing the ground. Then Jason glanced back up but his eyes through the mask that were white now turned black. Bart paled at this and said, "Uh Oh."
