Hi guys, it's been a long time I know and I'm really sorry and tbh I have no excuse, I'd just gotten dragged along in life and I'd kept putting off writing and then it turned from a few days to weeks to months and then years. And honestly, I haven't written anything in a while so I might be rusty but bear with me, I will do my best to finish this book for you :)
A quick note, I haven't read anything that involved GA or read the manga in a long time so there may be things that don't make sense because I don't really remember but I'm rereading the manga at the same time so hopefully nothing ends up being too confusing. And also, it's been years, YEARS since I've written for Sakura Life, my writing style has changed and it may seem different but I'll try my best to stay true to what I wrote before.
Disclaimer: Gakuen Alice and all characters are products of Tachibana Higuchi's creation with the exception of my own characters.
It's been a week since the transfer students were introduced to the class and they've created a sort of barrier around themselves, separating them from the rest of the class. The barrier wasn't made from Alice but was a mental one, one that the Canadian's created themselves/
Despite the happy introductions that were given, they'd physically and emotionally separated their group from the rest of the class, making them impenetrable. The class tried to be polite and nice to them, offering to show them around the school, taking them to Central Town or even just small talk but in the end they received the same results; monotonous personas that made them feel like it was their fault for even striking a conversation in the first place.
Everyone was in a rush to explain to Mikan what had truly happened but seeing her after such a long time and realising how hurt she'd been from what they've done, they didn't was to push her into something that she didn't want to do.
However the attitude that they were receiving was not warm not welcoming and with their Japanese upbringing, it was downright rude.
Until, Permy and Hotaru decided enough was enough.
The bell had just rung to indicate the start of lunch and Elsie and Lucas immediately turned around in their seats and started talking animately to Mikan. Emily and Peter stood from their seats and Emily shoved herself in between Mikan and Natsume and started braiding her long beautiful hair with no comment to the red eyed lad and Peter stood next to Mikan and leaning against her desk.
It hadn't been the first time they had done that, the moment that classes ended the four of them would gather around the brunette as if to guard her from the attention and stares of the class.
When Emily had first sat in between him and Mikan, he was beyond pissed. His instincts made him bring out his Alice and he was going to burn the blonde for separating them. But Mikan immediately nullified his Alice and glared at him, no words, no movement but with just her eyes, she conveyed everything to him.
Do. Not. Hurt my friends. I will make you regret ever looking at them.
Natsume glared back at her, I will do whatever I want.
Mikan's ice cold glare did not reside, I don't care what you do, just do not touch my friends.
Eventually, Natsume gave in.
Mostly because he was trying to win her back and needed to explain the misunderstanding but also because he could stand the facade she was putting up. He didn't like seeing her glare or so hard with anger, he wanted to see her bright smile and happy attitude.
Now whenever Emily came over, he scooted himself closer to Ruka to avoid getting squashed by the tiny girl.
The Canadian group chatted together like they were the only ones who mattered and gave no attention to the rest of the class. They reminisced of adventures and classes in Canada and ignored anyone who spoke to them.
Until, Permy strode over to them and spoke.
"There is a limit to how rude you can be."
Normally they would ignore her, and continue to until she went away but Mikan froze.
"You're transfer students and not kings and queens who are above us, you should give us respect as proper human beings." She stood with her hands on her hips. addressing them with no hesitation and confidence.
They abruptly stopped talking and turned to her coolly, though the one who spoke was Mikan.
"Sorry," she said with a small wicked smile. "We don't talk to people who dilute themselves into thinking that they are 'proper human beings'."
Peter sniggered at her words and they all laughed when Permy blanched and the rest of the class grew pale.
Permy struggled to speak, "W-what do you mean? We are proper human beings!"
Mikan cocked her head, surveying her classmates around her and her smile turned devilish. "People who betray and insult their friend are not people who are human, those are people who are heartless and evil with intentions of lying and deceiving others into a fake friendship."
The class froze.
Was this truly the same Mikan who they'd loved and cared for five years ago? The one who brightened up their days with just a smile?
This Mikan was cold and merciless, she smiled cruelly and threw hurtful words as weapons.
But Hotaru believed that her Mikan was still in there.
The short haired lass stood and without a word, shot rubber bullets are the brunette, hoping one would hit.
The bullets were ripped to shreds before even getting five feet close to the group.
Elsie stood and turned to Hotaru with a cold stare, "You might want to be careful who those fly towards because there are no promises what will happen if I were to accidentally rip your throat out."
Then the group watch the next moment with almost boredom.
Hotaru felt the air around her stir then gather itself around her throat, choking her breath out of her. She fell to her knees with a thud, her nails scraping at the invisible rope strangling her neck only to scratch herself. Her eyes were wide with shock and she tried with no success to gasp oxygen into her lungs.
"Hotaru!"
When suddenly, the torturous wind disappeared and air rushed into Hotaru's lungs, she fell onto the ground coughing and wheezing.
Ruka was immediately by her side and carefully cradled her against his chest, concern and fear written clear as day on his face.
Half the class was silent with shock and seethed with silent outrage. How dare they do this to a dear friend!
The other half stared at the brunette who had shouted and stood abruptly with fear and panic in her eyes. There was no question to who had saved Hotaru, there was only one person in the class who had the Nullification Alice.
Mikan snapped her head towards Elsie and roughly grabbed her arm before they teleported away.
Peter gaped at the empty space before him, "Seriously? We have to walk home now!"
Emily giggled, "It'll be good exercise."
"I don't need exercise, I'm fit enough." He huffed and crossed his arms across his chest.
Emily innocently raised her eyebrows, "But look at all those fat rolls..."
Lucas spewed and laughed, Peter blanched at the girl and Emily smiled like an angel.
Peter lifted his shirt to revealed hard abs and toned muscles and Emily squeaked and turned red, "What fat rolls?"
"I only see fat!" She jumped out of her seat and ran out the door, her face completely red against her fair skin.
Peter chased after her, "Come back here and show me the fat you see!"
Lucas laughed as them and stood to follow but not before seeing the confused and angry stares.
"How?" Kitsu asked angrily, "How could you guys see such a horrible scene and not react to it?"
Lucas gave him a flat stare, "Because we've done worst." He then broke out into a bright smile and ran out the door, whooping.
So this was fairly short, a quick look at how Mikan's past friends see the group and how merciless Mikan and especially Elsie could be.
See ya guys next week with a new chapter, bye!
