WELCOME!

To another chapter of Sakura Life, where betrayals and raw emotions take place.

This time we will take a look at our favourite brunettes confusing actions despite the coldness she displays to her old friends.

Previously in the last chapter, Elsie had used her Alice and had hurt Hotaru but by the swift help from Mikan, she was safe but an instant later Mikan disappears with Elsie.

Ok, all jokes aside. lkasdsfdd. I sneezed.

Mansion

In the short time that they've lived in the mansion the five of them, and by five of them I mean Elsie, had managed to go to Central Town to buy new furniture and decorate and furnish their new home.

On the first floor of the living room, a light grey shaggy rug laid over the brown floor boards and complemented a long L shaped sofa with a matching lover seat surrounding the black coffee table. The floor to ceiling windows that took up an entire wall opened to the forest that was shining brightly in the afternoon sun with long creme curtains pulled to the sides. A large television encased half the wall in front of the couch and a chandelier hung over the table. Pieces of artwork and photos of the quintet and many unfamiliar faces were scattered all around the room with a few stray moving boxes that were left here and there.

There was only the sound of nature that surrounded the home, creating a soft and warm atmosphere.

When suddenly two figures appeared in front of the large windows and Mikan flung Elsie's arm away from her as if it burned her.

The brunette seethed silently, turning her back to her dark haired friend, shaking with rage.

"How dare you do that?" Mikan turned and spat at Elsie. Anger blazed from her and the warm, loving atmosphere of the home was shattered by the hot boiling fury.

Elsie glared at her with the same intensity, "I was standing up for you and making sure you stayed safe, I don't understand why you're so upset!"

"I'm upset because you're hurting them without letting me know if it would be alright! Because you say you're standing up for me but maybe you're just doing it for fun!" Mikan's face was turning redder and warmer by the minute and the adrenaline was making her say things she didn't think through.

Elsie looked confused, "Why on earth would I want to hurt them for fun, I'm doing it for you!"

"Whenever we've been on missions and you have to torture AAO spied for information, you enjoyed hurting them and when we go to kill anyone you would in front of all of us." The words that came out of Mikan's mouth were not what she wanted to say, not what had intended to say.

Elsie was silent, "Is that what you think? That I enjoy hurting others? That I enjoy killing people that I don't know? That I've never regretted everything I've done?"

Mikan wanted to apologise, to take back her words and take that look of betrayal on her face. She didn't want to see it on anyone of her friends, to know that she was the one who was betraying them.

But she didn't say anything.

"You think that I enjoyed hurting Imai-san?" Elsie asked.

"But you didn't have to hurt her! And what happened was between me and them! It has nothing to do with you!" Mikan threw out the words like knives, every word sharp and blunt.

Elsie was silent for a moment, swallowing the hurt before continuing, "You spent the last five years in Canada brooding over when happened, I spent every moment with you when you cried from missing them to handing you a sledgehammer so you could break my furniture so you could get your anger out. It has everything to do with me when my best friend is about to be hurled with rubber bullet or about to face her so called best friend."

"You didn't have to hurt her or threaten her with her life! You could've severely hurt her or made her traumatised or killed her and that is not okay with me!" Mikan shouted, "And you're not my best friend when you don't even know what I want!"

Tears simmered in Elsie's eyes from her words, "If I'm not your best friend then who is? Hotaru? You were the one who told me that she constantly bullied you before you transferred to Canada. How about Natsume? He cheated on you didn't he? With your sister and-"

She didn't get to finish her sentence before Mikan had slapped her across the cheek.

Slowly, as if she were unsure it had even happened, Elsie reached up and cradled her cheek that was slowly turning red.

Mikan stared at her hand with wide eyes, unable to believe that she had just hurt her own friend.

Tears welled up in Mikan's eyes, "I- I- Elsie, I'm-"

Elsie knew. She knew what Mikan truly wanted from her old friends and what she wanted from her.

Elsie pulled her close and hugged her.

The embrace lasted for only a moment before Elsie pulled back with a sad smile. A tremor ran through her body before her face twisted in pain and she teleported away.

"Elsie!" Mikan reached out to grab her but she had already disappeared. Confusion ran through her, what had just happened?
