Hi I would like to say I am incredibly sorry for my absence and for the people who like this story and I would also like to thank the people who have encouraged me to keep on writing.
Tanya's P.O.V
When Alice said I would met my mate today I wasn't expecting this.
I was shocked to say the least at receiving a phone call whilst out hunting for my next meal, a phone call from a very excited Alice Cullen.
Alice Cullen being one of my adopted family a niece if you'd like considering I call her adoptive father Carlisle Cullen a brother.
At first I thought she was merely excited about a new outfit she wished to tell me about because knowing Alice and her love for all things clothing that was probably the cause.
But the first words out of her mouth shocked me more than any skirt or pair of heels ever could.
Flashback
"I have just had a vision of your mate" came the excited squeal I had come to recognise as Alice's.
After the initial shock wore off, Alice's words registers in my mind.
"What" I say completely shocked and slightly hopeful.
For the longest time I have wished to find my mate, finally to have someone to love and someone to love me back.
"I have just had a vision of your mate" she replies slowly as if I was deaf.
"I mean elaborate about my mate" I roll my eyes at the rhyme.
"Your mate will be at the school tomorrow isn't it exciting" she once again squeal's down my ear through my phone.
It is exciting but I am still slightly numb by the knowledge that I will find my mate at my new work place.
I had been a teacher in the past and found I quite enjoyed it so decided to once again begin teaching.
And now my mate will be in my new school, I wonder if they will be a teacher or a student.
The thought of them being a student should bother me but then again morals kind of left me the first time I bit into a human.
That thought freezes me, I am a vampire, and will they be a vampire? Or will they be human? That thought frightens me.
Alice being the future seer immediately realises my thought process.
"Don't worry Tanya they will be human but you will have no trouble with your blood lust" Alice says reassuringly.
That thought calms me and once again I feel excitement and joy seep through my whole body.
I had finally got my mate.
End of flashback
After ending my phone call with Alice with two words to help me with my mate were female and Bella.
Finding out my mate was a girl wasn't much of a shock seeing as I had female partners in the past.
Walking home at a human pace that day questions swam through my head once again, would she like me? Or would she turn away from me like some humans have against vampires?.
That worries me I know appearance wise I am beautiful all vampires are but maybe the vampire part scares her off.
I was still doubting myself by the time I reached mine and my family's home, knowing Alice probably filled them in already knowing her inability to keep a secret.
In a way I am thankful it saves me the trouble of explaining the whole situation.
Opening the front door I am immediately approached by my overly eager family, taking an unneeded deep breath I prepare myself for the onslaught of questions and teasing remarks.
"Is it true you're going to meet your mate?" Irina is the first to ask.
"And that you're going to meet them at the school?" Kate is next.
"And that they might be a student?" Carmen asks slightly worried, Carmen being the mother of us all.
Feeling slightly offended at being likened to a child molester I open my mouth to retort, luckily I am beaten to it by Eleazer, Carmen's mate.
"I'm sure Carmen means no offence by that do you Carmen" Eleazer says with a slight glare.
Carmen looks uncertain for a moment before sending me a calming smile.
"Of course Tanya I was merely worried of the suspicion it may cause if you were seen getting close with a student" she says gently.
"You mean the volturi" I say worriedly.
"Actually I meant the school board" Carmen says with a serious expression and tone.
"Hate to break it to you tan but she's right if you create a scandal the volturi may hear about it you know Aro has spies everywhere" Irina adds looking worried.
The fear of the volturi hearing about this and hurting my family or my mate has tears that will never fall pool in my eyes.
"Don't worry Tanya if it's meant to be everything will work out" eleazer says wrapping his arms around me.
I smile into his shoulder inhaling his soothing scent, and before I know it another three sets of arms are wrapped around me.
"Group hug" Kate jokes breaking the earlier tension, I laugh along with everybody else, and for the first time since hearing that ill will be meeting my mate I was completely at ease.
The next day
I can't do this.
Ever since morning broke I have been feeling extremely nervous.
I have tried on dozens of outfits and I cannot seem to find the perfect one. I don't know whether I should be seductive or serious.
I don't want to come off as a slut but I also don't want to seem like a bore, in all of my many years I have never had so much trouble in decisions like this.
Normally I would get straight to the seducing but this isn't some random screw this is my mate, my forever.
As I throw shirt after skirt out of my open closet I'm vaguely aware of someone entering my room.
"Tanya honey what are you doing?" Carmen asks confused, probably noticing the fact my room now resembles a clothing warehouse.
"Trying on clothes" I answer distracted by a slightly revealing red dress I was thinking of wearing.
"Well I didn't think you was knitting" Carmen replies sarcastically, and that is what finally drags my head and mind out of the closet, because Carmen is never sarcastic.
As I look at Carmen I see a serious face but also gentle eyes.
"I know you are worried about what she is going to think about you but you have no need to worry" she says reassuringly.
"Why has Alice had another vision" I ask excited at the thought of her seeing our first meeting going well.
"No" I instantly deflate at the news that Alice hadn't seen what my mate's reaction about me was going to be.
"Then how do you know?" I ask confused, if Alice hasn't had a vision how could Carmen possibly know what was going to happen.
"Because she would be a fool to not want to spend forever with you" she says in such a determined voice I instantly tear up.
"You really think so?" I ask my voice shaking with emotion.
"I know so you're an incredible person Tanya you may be beautiful on the outside but your even more so on the inside" Carmen's voice also shakes with a proud affection.
I instantly throw my arms around her and wrap her up in the tightest embrace I could manage.
"Thank you" my reply is muffled by my head being in her shoulder.
"Always Tanya always" Carmen whispers in my ear.
