AN: Well, here it is! I know it's been a while since I've written a chapter for this story and I'm sorry, I lost the motivation to write this and I ran out of ideas. I hope everyone will enjoy this chapter; I've worked really hard on it. Without further ado, I present to you High School Days:

Chapter 4: Of Light and Dark

Tailsko POV

'Am I dreaming,' I wondered as I came to. There was a bright light, I cracked open one eye and what I saw caused me to jerk the other open as well. I suddenly noticed the sound of breathing from my left and looked to see a white fox, sound asleep next to me. Wondering what time it was, I looked at my watch and saw it was late afternoon now. I sighed and heard the Todd move; I looked at him and realized it was none other than Snow the Werefox. He groaned and opened his eyes. "Hey," I said sheepishly.

"Hey," he replied, coming fully awake, "I'm glad you are okay. You are okay, aren't you?"

It was then I remembered what happened and exclaimed, "You bit me!"

He dropped his eyes, "I'm sorry, I went off, I never meant to. I heard what Blaze said and it broke my heart. I ran in and hid in the bathroom. Someone came in and hit me and I just lost control. You hate me now, don't you?" He looked back at me, sadness, regret and what looked like hope in his brilliant ice blue eyes. I stared into them, feeling almost like I was swimming in them, and realized that I couldn't hate him, actually, I felt the complete opposite.

"I don't hate you," I replied, smiling and with more bravado than I actually felt, "actually, if you biting me changed me, then I'd kiss ya!" He looked at me, startled by my reaction.

"You healed really fast," he told me hesitantly, and with what appeared to be hope in his voice, "we won't really know till tonight. It's a full moon, once you've been bitten by a Were, you won't change until the first full moon afterwards. Once I realized I'd injured you, I freaked out and warped us away from Station Square."

"Where did you warp us to," I asked.

He shrugged, "During my travels, while I was helping fight Robotnik and before joining the tribe at five, Tails and I used this tropical island as our home base. It's about six thousand miles from Station Square, dead center of the Emerald Ocean and the maximum distance I am able to travel using Crystal Control in one shot with two people before I have to rest. We mostly lived here without most amenities, just like native foxes live."

"It's beautiful," I said, looking around for the first time.

"Yeah it is," he sighed. I glanced out of the corner of my eye and felt my heart flutter when I noticed his eyes were on me. He grinned suddenly, stood up and sprinted off.

'Oh no you don't,' I thought as I gave chase.

Tails POV

I woke up to see a pissed off blue hedgehog standing above me. "What happened," I asked, still slightly dazed.

"Your buddy went nuts," the hedgehog replied, "then took your sister and split." I thought for a moment and realized what happened.

"It's okay," I told him, "they're both safe. Snow probably felt bad for scaring her and took her to our tropical paradise to help her calm down."

Sonic's face hardened, "Where is it?"

I shrugged, "Don't know. Aside from what it looks like and that I wouldn't tell you or take you there anyway."

"Bull shit," he spat at me, "tell me or..."

"Tell you or what," I cut him off, "trust me, I don't think you want to piss me off. I'm sure of that, look what one pissed off Werefox can do dipshit!" I waved my hand around the newly remodeled bathroom for emphasis.

"I don't give a fuck," he replied as the chaos emeralds appeared and circled him. They went into him, transforming him into Super Sonic.

I pulled out my yellow gem pendant and put it on, "So I guess I gotta prove my point then?"

"Either answer my question or shut up and put em up," Sonic hissed.

I rolled my eyes, placed a hand over my crystal and growled, "Unleash the beast!" A bright yellow glow enveloped me as I changed. My fur went from yellow-gold to solid gold, I yipped in pain as I grew seven more tails, my canines grew longer and my claws extended, growing longer, much sharper. The glow faded and someone chuckled, it was Shadow.

"You bit off more than you can chew this time Faker," he dead panned, "that fox isn't just a Werefox, he's a Kitsune."

I grinned and said, "I'm more than a Kitsune. Kitsune are what all multi-tailed foxes are called. There are some of us who have a Chaos Crystal and can change to a nine-tailed fox form. The Kitsune who can do that are called Kitsune Warriors. Now, we might want to end this quickly."

"Why," the golden hedgehog asked, slightly puzzled.

"Because," I replied flatly, "other Warriors will be here soon. We can sense when one of us transforms if we are within ten thousand miles of each other and I am sure you can hold your own for a bit against one but, most likely two is more than you can take on." Without another word, I took a ready stance...

Tailsko POV

I don't know how long I've been chasing the snowy fox ahead of me. He was amazing though: agile, swift, strong and absolutely handsome. I realized where my thoughts were heading and shook my head to clear them. I was only slightly successful. There's no denying it, that fox had somehow managed to worm in through some weakness in my armor and found a place in my heart. I focused on the chase and let out a gasp of surprise when he started to zigzag off the trees...

Snow POV

As I shot through the trees, I chanced a look behind me and smiled, she was giving chase and I was glad. Looking ahead, I noticed the trees were closer and jumped for the first tree, only to spring board off it to the next: a perfect triangle jump. I heard her gasp in surprise and decided to let her finally catch me, just to see what happened. I bound off the final tree and slowed slightly, it wasn't a big decrease, just enough to drop the extra momentum I had gained from the triangle jump. 'This should allow for it,' I thought absently, 'I don't know why I'm like this with Tailsko. I never did this with that bitch.' I smiled whimsically at my new name for that lilac werecat.

"Got you," I heard Tailsko exclaim as she tackled me. She rolled me over and pinned me, "Now you're mine!" I could smell it now, she was extremely aroused.

I felt my inner animal stir hungrily at her scent, "Careful Anna, you're causing Brother Were to surface." She cocked her head and puzzlement, I let out a bark of laughter, "Everyone who is a Were are two identities in one body. Consider it Light and Dark. One is the Mobian or Light and the other is the Were or Dark. I call the Were part of myself Brother Were. I don't see Brother Were as a different identity at all. Brother Were and I are more like kindred spirits sharing the same body. For most, it's not that way, I'm pretty much the first Were in a millennium to be so fully accepting of his inner Were. For others, though, it's all about control. The only times I'm not in control is when I scent or feel certain things or when I'm tracking someone. You can tell who is in control once you get to know a Were by the color of their eyes."

"How can eyes tell me whether you or Brother Were is in control," she asked curiosity in her sky blue eyes.

I grinned widely, "Simple, when I'm in control my eyes are ice blue but when Brother Were is in control, my eyes are silvery blue. Either of us can be in control whether or not I'm in Werefox form." I was wondering what more to say when I saw her eyes change to amber and back, she'd been changed when I'd bit her. A sudden wave of peace washed over me, surprising me almost as much as Brother Were settling back down suddenly did. I didn't get a chance to dwell on it as a wave of chaos energy washed over me and my pendant glowed. I quickly wriggled free, as she had stiffened and placed a hand to her chest. I got a sudden suspicion and stopped moving, her next words confirmed it.

"My brother went Warrior," Anna stated, locking eyes with me. I nodded in confirmation. "We gonna go help," she asked. I nodded and touched my pendant while grabbing her hand.

In unison we called out, "Unleash the beast!"

Tailsko POV

When the glow that surrounded me faded, I looked myself over. 'Wonder if Miles looks as I do.' I thought as I looked at my solid gold body, sharp claws and over my shoulder at my nine tails. The feeling of being watched and the sudden low growl brought my attention back to Nova. I looked at his pure white fur, sharp claws, nine fluffy tails and protruding canines before traveling up to meet his eyes, which were a breath-taking color. His pupils had become bare slits surrounded by pools of liquid blue silver. The other thing I noticed was that he was looking at me with hunger, need, desire and, was that love? I shook my head in disbelief, 'I'm imagining things. He's a Werefox and the Prince of the Were Tribe, according to my brother, there's no way a normal vixen like myself has any chance of snaring him.'

"I wouldn't count yourself," he said smoothly, as if he could read my thoughts, "I'm single and going to be careful that my heart gets to the right person this time, even if that means I look outside the tribe." Before I could speak, he grabbed my hand and we vanished, only to reappear in the middle of my brother and Sonic in his super form, both panting and looking tired. I faced Sonic and felt Snow's tails brush mine as he faced my brother.

"What the fuck Sonic," I growled, rather pissed off, "why did you attack my brother?!"

"Stand down Miles," Snow barked, "you know our rules. You know what straights we're in! If you fight with Sonic, then it certainly will reverse what we're trying to do! We're trying to be able to co-exist peacefully with those who aren't Were. Whether they are Human or Mobian; fighting them is counter-productive to our goal of peaceful co-existence! As your Alpha I demand an explanation!"

"He was trying to get me to tell him where you'd taken my sister," my brother bit back. I smiled inside at how he had only met me today and already accepted me as his sister.

"That fox kidnapped you," Sonic told me, reminding me of the current situation, "I was trying to find out where you got taken so..."

I cut him off there, "So you could what? Rescue me? I am not helpless blue boy. Now power down and leave them be or face me."

Sonic looked fit to be tied, "Your sticking up for these monsters!" Sonic watched as I grinned and pulled out a Snickers bar and opened it.

"Chose your next words carefully blue," I growled, "you may regret them." 'Good thing he's never seen what happens,' I thought, 'when a fox has chocolate. It's addictive and tastes good, but I kinda lose it when I eat it. Hell, I don't even know what I'll do when I eat this!' I could almost imagine the horror on the face of the two behind me.

"I'm supposed to be your friend Anna," Sonic growled, "I can understand you sticking up for your brother, but not that snowy piece of shit as well!" I was instantly furious and bit back my reply by shoving the entire Snickers bar in my mouth and swallowing it. It seemed as though something snapped inside me. I stretched out a hand sideways, toward Amy, who'd just walked up, smiling and handed me a hammer.

I glanced at Sonic maliciously, "How dare you, you sorry excuse for a hairbrush. I was friends with you, bit not anymore! You've let being a hero go to your head. Oh and, here's a newsflash for you: I know you've got a crush on me, but you might as well give it up. You so ain't my type, I like a guy who's kind, gentle, strong, smart and fun to be with. A guy that's protective, not possessive. I also like a guy that's mysterious and sweet. Sorry Sonic, but you're none of those. You've become an arrogant, possessive and rude asshole. I bet the only thing you love about me is my shapely figure and my D-cup rack. I like a guy who likes me for my personality instead of my figure. A guy like..." I trailed off, suddenly feeling rather bold and horny; I whirled around, grabbed Snow and kissed him fiercely and hungrily. I was surprised when he returned the kiss vigorously; I pulled him closer and tightened my arms around him. I finally broke the kiss and looked into his eyes, completely ignoring the blue pincushion for a moment. He touched his nose to mine and stared deeply into his eyes, getting lost in them.

"You love me," he whispered softly, "don't you?" I didn't say anything; I just turned to look at Sonic.

"Someone like Snow," I finally finished, "yeah, he may be a Werefox but so what. He's not a monster; he's twice the guy you'll ever be." I stared him down, daring him to try me. I smiled and leaned back into Snow as I felt his arms around my waist.

"You slut," the hedgehog growled, "You're a fucking cock tease. . . You enjoy leading a guy on and then ripping their fucking heart out." He looked as if he was going to say more but found he couldn't. His mouth was covered in ice, literally.

"How dare you," the handsome white Kitsune growled as he stepped around me, his left hand gloveless and glowing a pale blue. As he went past me in shivered, in spite the balmy weather, the temperature had suddenly gone arctic.

'Holy shit,' I thought as everything clicked; "now I know why he's called Snow! He's Glacialkinnetic! Even among Kitsune it's extremely rare to be able to create, control and manipulate ice. This fox is certainly full of mystery!'

"How dare you slander the most beautiful vixen I've ever seen," Snow continued, causing me to blush noticeably and a warm, fuzzy feeling settle in my gut, "Now, I'm going to release your mouth but, if you EVER speak bad about MY Anna again, I will freeze you solid." I watched him snap his fingers and the ice covering the hedgehog's mouth melted away. The fox turned his back and Sonic went to punch him. I didn't care for cheap shots so I took the hammer Amy had given me and swung it as hard as I could. It connected with a satisfying crunch with the hedgehog's balls. He stopped, coughed and I watched as he opened his mouth and the seven Chaos Emerald dropped out of it. I nodded in satisfaction and dropped my warrior form as the hedgehog dropped to the floor, no longer in Super form and unconscious. I noticed that the others had done the same. Snow walked over and picked up the emeralds. "I think I'll take these to the tribe for now," he said as they glowed and vanished, "as a Kitsune Warrior, I'm not allowed to let someone abuse the power these emeralds grant. The Echidna may be tasked with making sure the Master Emerald isn't misused but we Warriors are tasked with doing the same for the Chaos, Super and Sol Emeralds." The emeralds glowed and vanished.

"Damn Anna," Amy said as she finally stopped giggling, "you knocked the jewels outta him." She collected her hammer when I offered it...

Snow POV

I shook my head as Tails handed me my clothes, board and school bag. "C'mon Prince Snow," he said to me, "we need to gather the Blades and get home. We've got to get ready for tonight." I thought for a minute.

"Shit," I exclaimed as I remembered why tonight was important, "it's our first time participating at the mating moon! Oh, and the last of the three nights is when we have our coming of age ceremony, the entire pack is being declared adults. Let's call them to us and get on home. There's something we need to decide on before moonrise." Tails nodded. In unison, we threw back our heads and howled. I noticed the look on Anna's face, "I'm the Alpha of a pack as well as the tribe's next leader. The tribe is more like a self governed community lead by my mother and father. We have a pack law that allows us to form into groups with their own leader or Alpha. My pack is called the Blades; we chose the name as we're all Hunter's. It's the job of the Hunters to protect the tribe from all internal and external threats. We also train fledgling hunters and gather food for the rest of the tribe. Your brother has been my second since we formed the pack. Well, we need to be going. So, um, I guess I'll get to see you at school tomorrow?" I looked at her hopefully, 'Although I get the feeling I'll be seeing her sooner.'

"Yeah," she replied, "tomorrow, hopefully no trouble comes our way for what happened today." I smiled at the reminder of what it's like to be a normal teen; dressed, walked out the door with my pack and mounted my board, heading for home. On the way home, Blaze and I wound up riding next to each other. I had nothing to say to her right then so I stayed silent, studiously ignoring the feline next to me. After a bit she sighed and motioned that she wanted to talk to me. I glanced at Tails and gestured to him to take the lead and veered off, heading for a nearby restraunt. I pulled to a stop, got off and converted my board.

'I must be an idiot,' I mused as I motioned her through the door I'd opened. She might've broken my heart but that don't mean I need to be rude. I walked up to the matre'd and said, "Table for two please." The man looked us over, taking in our street clothing and tribe markings and frowned. I stepped back and waved my four tails, where Blaze couldn't see.

The man immediately smiled and said, "Ah, right this way Mister Hunter." I smiled and followed with a puzzled Blaze in tow. He sat us down and handed us a menu, "Is there anything I can get for you right now Mister Hunter?" I shook my head and waited for Blaze to speak, the man left.

"Okay," Blaze said after a moment, "I'm sorry for this morning. I was jealous and I shouldn't have said that. I really do love you Snow. You were the first person who ever looked past my pyrokenisis. I hope you'll forgive me, I never meant to hurt you." She looked into my eyes and grabbed my hand. I looked deep into her golden eyes and found something in them that caused me to hesitate.

'Something's not right,' I thought. I took on a thoughtful look as I searched within myself for the part of me that was my link to my pack and followed along it to her. She felt nothing, not love or even remorse. 'The bitch is trying to manipulate me,' I thought furiously. I called upon the power that was mine as an Alpha, "How dare you lie to me. Go home now and await my return and your punishment." I put my power as pack alpha behind it to make it stick. She flinched and shot out the restaurant as fast as possible. I sighed, 'This is really bad. I can feel my were in ascendance from how pissed I am.'

"Anything I can get you," the waitress asked as she came up. Her scent flowed over me and I looked up at her, eyes silvery blue instead of ice blue.

"Long time no see Lupe," I said.

"Oh, shit," she exclaimed, "didn't recognize you at first Snow!"

"Yeah well, I wish our reunion was on a better day," I said with a sigh, "please go get your boss and tell him Snow says ascendance, tell him what table I'm at and then tell him to call Anna Prower, she goes by Tailsko." She nodded and headed off. I sat there with my eyes closed, focused on keeping myself from transforming and suppressing my were. I heard steps approaching and opened my eyes to see a female rabbit approaching with a child in tow. Not wanting to scare them, I slid my shades over my eyes to prevent them from seeing my were eyes.

"Excuse me," the doe said, "my son is a big fan of yours. I tried to stop him but he really wanted to meet you."

"Really," I asked as I stood and knelt in front of the youngster, "Say how would you like to take a picture with me and then I'll sign it?"

"That would be totally awesome," the boy squealed.

"Is that really okay mister," the mother asked, "I don't want to disturb your meal."

"It's perfectly fine," I assured her, "I'm always willing to do this for my fans." Knowing my eyes had returned to normal, I slid my shades back up and looked at the kid, "What's your name kiddo?"

"Timmy," he replied. I laughed and grabbed my board case.

"Snow Tail, Gear Change: Yacht," I said as I set my board down. I helped him onto it and got on the opposite side. On impulse, I took my shades and jacket off, placing them on him. "There, now you look like a Rider," I chuckled, giving him a thumbs up before turning forward and putting up the victory sign and making sure all four of my tails were visible. After the mother used the Polaroid camera I gave her, she handed it back to me with the picture and I signed it. "So," I asked as I signed the picture, "How old are you Timmy?"

"I just turned seven today," the boy exclaimed, "are you going to the Station Square Fall Invitational next week?"

"Sure am," I told him as I handed him the picture, "you can keep the shades and jacket, kiddo. Consider it a birthday present form me, as well as these..." I reached into my pocket and handed him and his mother a ticket. "These are VIP Passes to the invitational. They're good for the entire event and come with catered meals, and the VIP seating next to the air pits. Bring a swimsuit as well, because there's a shallow pool and hot tub there as well," I finished.

"Thank you," the mother said with tears in her eyes, "you've probably just made this his best birthday ever." I nodded as they walked away. I felt my control slipping and walked over to the manager as he came up.

"Good thing I made that room, eh my friend," he asked cheerfully. I nodded and followed him back, he continued as we walked quickly to the back, "I've already made the call you asked me. You're in luck, Anna works here on the weekends, and she'll be here shortly. I also have the things you asked me to get." I nodded as we walked into a room that seemed inescapable; he left me in it and locked the door tightly. Once he was clear, I let my were gain control and changed...

AN: Well, there it is. I don't have much else to say except that next chapter will contain a lot of fluff. Who knows, I may have chapter 5 up this week as well. As always: Read, review and enjoy. Oh, and stay tuned for Chapter 5: Sing to the Moon!
