Chapter 1: It has started

Looking back at all that has happened in the past 3 weeks is a bit surreal, Harry winning the tri-wizard tournament, Cedric's death, Voldemort's return and now sitting at Gimmauld Place contemplating all of it. All I really want to know is how Harry is, sharing that fast, intense kiss before we parted ways at the start of summer and now having to be around the Weasley's and a slew of other people which of whom I have no clue are is not ideal to say in the least.

My thoughts are interrupted by Lupin entering the room, unconsciously I move to make room on the Libraries large lounge chair but his taught demeanour makes me stand instead. It's no secret a good half of the Order members' downstairs have a subtle fear and or dislike for Lupin because of his condition, often he pays no mind to it but this close to the full moon he is more on edge.

"Professor." I offer as a greeting before turning and sitting back down in my seat, knowing this man he is a little fickle when he is put out with people and their actions. Thinking that he deserves there hate and immediate dislike, so I wait for him to speak.

He almost cautiously steps into the room, "Hermione, please how many times have I told you to call me Remus or even Lupin. I am no longer your Professor." He said with a half-amused expression on his face before coming to sit down.

I look up to see his face study me almost scientifically before finding the answer to his unanswered question, "Remus then," I Pause with a quick smile, "Escaping the judgemental whisperings and queries of out lovely members." I say almost apologetically.

He tussles his already distress hair and with a crooked smirk he speaks," Am I that obvious?" with a glace of my face his question is answers, "An I suppose you are hauled up here escaping the overbearing Weasley's and pining after your one true love."

I sit up a little straighter at hearing the Weasley's name, the people who I once thought to be family that have ignored and neglected me since arriving at the last event on the tournament. "Honestly Remus I could care less what they think of me I have you, Harry, Sirius and Tonks, I don't really think I need that type of person in my life anyway. Have you heard anything from Harry yet? Do you know when he is arriving?".

He leans a little closer and almost whispers, "I'm glad you feel like you can rely on me and that's actually why I came to find you. Sirius hear from our 'oh great and powerful leader' that he will be arriving tonight after a run in with Dementors."

"DEMENTORS!", I say aghast and on my feet. "Why in the hell were there dementors in Little Whinging? Is he alright? Oh, I guess since you are perfectly calm, he came out unscathed." I breath out a breath I was holding in before returning to me seat and looking back to Remus.

"Do you think he will be angry with me about the letters? Evetime I tried to write even a sentence more, my letters were returned."

He turns more towards me before resting his hand on my shoulder, "Hermione don't worry, I truly believe after explaining it to him he will be fine, just give him a few minutes to vent before telling him, especially how certain red heads have been treating you." His voice waving into an almost smug tone.

Collecting my belongings, careful to hide the title and my notes from view before standing up. "I guess I will return to my room and wait for Harry to arrive, please come and collect me if it isn't too much trouble before he arrives?"

At his nod, I stand to make my way out of the library before turning at the threshold, "Remus."

At his look of questioning I continue, "Don't honestly worry about what you smell or hear from those people down there, you are not a dangerous being, you are Remus Lupin. One of the most kind, Intelligent and peaceful people I have met, don't pay them any mind." Before he has a chance to answer I continue down the corridor to my room.

Careful to hide the titles of the books I am carrying from the prying eyes of the portraits following me. I find my way to the solid black door at the end of the third landing before taking my wand and disarming the looking spell before entering. I immediately place the books in the secret compartment of the big ornate desk on the far side of my room. I scrupulously make sure they are out of sight, somehow, I doubt some of the members here liking my research at the moment.

I lay back onto the big comfortable bed before thinking about the reactions of some people if they found out the titles or my notes.

Binding Majiks: The Origins

Grey Spells and How to use them

Dark Light and Everything in Between

The books I have in my possession currently would cause an uproar from at least ninety percent of the current inhabitants of this house. But how is it my fault that I have found this power myself, no do not assume it is dark, although it isn't light. Haven't you ever heard the saying; nothings ever black and white, just different shades of grey. I thought that embodies my current situation to the fullest.

I still have no clue how to explain this to Harry. What if he hates me? What if he exposes me to everyone? What if he leaves me? These questions, coming from a place of fear. Rationally I know that Harry will at least hear me out and he loves me enough to let me explain. I just hope it's enough.

I pulled from these harrowing thoughts by a knock on my door and a gruff voice bellowing into my dark room.

"Girly, Potter is about to arrive the wolf told me to let you know." I could hear Mad-eye limp away down the creaky boards to the stairs.

Adjusting myself I sit back up and move to go towards the door, Harry and I have a lot to talk about. I just hope it turns out well. The Weasley's, Voldemort, my new found 'skill set', the ministry and just about everything in-between.

I can just imagine how the red-headed clan, especially the youngest female will react to the news of our relationship, as well as the rest of the Order. In hindsight, I guess it isn't a big deal as we have bigger and badder things to worry about.

Just as I make my way into the sitting room, I'm met with sneers from the Weasley's and smiles from Remus and Sirius. Just as someone tries to speak they are cut off by the heavy footsteps coming up the hallway, the cussing and yelling from the portrait in the foyer and the slamming of the old heavy door.

As Tonks, Kingsley, Mungdungus and three other I have yet to remember make their way into the room my eyes immediately connect to bright green ones and I unconsciously move forward.
