Hey guys! Here is chapter 10. Yay! I just realized we were chapter 10! Double digits! Please comment, favorite, and follow me and the story! And I just realized Maxon's eyes are brown. I read a different fanfiction were his eyes were blue. Oh well! Now read on! The more you read, the more you know!

*1 day until the wedding

America:

There was so much preparation to be done! The wedding was tomorrow, and almost the entire world would see our wedding.

There was so much to think about. Would I trip going down the aisle? Would I make a fool of myself when dancing? I didn't even choose a bridesmaid! Or a flower girl! Wait a second, did I even have a dress?

And in the stress of it all, I had to start acting like the queen.

Woah…

So this is life now. I guess I would have to get used to this.

Maxon:

I would soon be the King of Illea. Would I be a good king or a bad one? What should I do about the caste system?

Nothing in the library would tell me! Why did Gregory Illea have to be such a crappy leader and make such a horrible mess of a country?

Why was my own father such a crappy leader? Was I next to follow? No, I am going to make a change. I know I won't make a mess of my family, but will I make a mess of my country?

My father's sacrifice was time with his family, and I know I would have to make one, but no way would mine be my own family.

America:

"Lady America! We have something special!" I maids burst into my room with a purple dress shaped bag in hand. "You have to close your eyes while we put it on though." I nodded, and they quickly pushed me in front of my mirror. Anne turned me around so I couldn't see myself. Mary blindfolded me, and Lucy began to unzip the bag.

10 minutes passed, Mary took the blindfold off, Lucy began to zip the bag back up, and Anne turned me around.

My draw dropped.

This was the best dress my maids could have ever put me in…my wedding dress.

It was white, with a chiffon sweetheart neckline, with a crisscross bodice. It was beautiful, yet simple. It matched my personality perfectly.

My maids put my red hair into a bun, and braided a headband of my hair around it. They then inserted little flowers.

"This is beautiful, girls! I love it! I couldn't ask for anything more!" They smiled. I was going to hug them, but they stepped back.

"Take the dress off first, ma'am." Anne chimed in. I nodded. We all laughed. After the dress was off, and I was in my normal clothes, I gave them the biggest hug imaginable. Then, there was a knock at the door.

"Come in," I said. Maxon appeared in the door way.

"Your Majesty," my maids said in as they bowed. They then left the room, giggling, with the bag in haste.

"Your Majesty," I said jokingly, "is there something that you need? You are not supposed to see me until tomorrow!"

"Oh, well isn't that too bad?" He kissed my fore head, and held me in his arms.

We were going to have a winter wedding. I turned around. Snow was falling to the ground gracefully. It was only 6:00 pm, and the sky had become dark quickly.

"I will see you at dinner, my dear." He kissed me gently on the lips, and left.

During dinner, I was just too excited, and nervous. I tried to eat but I just couldn't.

After dinner, I plopped on my bed, excited for the next day. Then I remembered…

Tomorrow I wouldn't just be Maxon's bride…

I would be Queen of Ilea. I didn't think I could handle it.

Maxon and my father were the only people who believed in me. Aspen thought all I could be was a nobody, and my mother, she was just protective and somewhat pushy.

I closed my eyes, ready for tomorrow.

*Wedding Day*

"My Lady, wake up!" My maids shook me. I quickly got up.

They put me in my wedding dress, fixed my hair in the bun, and fed me some toast with butter. They then completed my makeup. I was ready to take on the day…

But was I ready to take on the crown?

Sorry for the short chapter, I also apologize for not posted in a long time. I am back and here to stay though! I think next I may do an S.A Bodeen novel fanfic. You guys can vote for the Compound, the Raft, or the Gardener. I am leaning towards the Gardener because not all problems are resolved at the end of the story. Thanks for sticking with me!
